  • A lovely place to stay. Looking through the window upstairs from the bed, you can see the moon rise above the trees. The sun rises just there too that gently bathes you in the morning light. Clean and well presented. Full of character, we'll definitely try to stay here again.

  • You would not guess the quirky well thought out touches this place has. We loved our stay at the loft and the comfy retro chairs to watch tv in after a hard day’s riding! A lovely place to self cater- well equipped and not far from Buller and Mansfield. Thanks Pete!

  • The Loft was delightful to stay at. Hand made by Pete it has a delightfully artful & quirky style & is constucted with recycled materials. It possesses all the amenities & comforts you could ever need, essentially everything you could ever want in an AirBNB. We highly recommend.

    Douglas2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Pete's place is set in an idyllic spot amidst the trees and hills at the foot of Mount Buller. There is a river flowing across the road from the unit, which you can hear peacefully flowing. The unit has some really nice design touches and is a unique, clean and beautiful dwelling. Would have no hesitate recommending Pete's place.

    Ben2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great studio, well designed, its got everything that you need. Its a perfect weekend away from the city. More explanation on how to get the wifi would have been appreciated.

    Angelique2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect choice for a last minute get away. The cabin was way better than I had expected. It is unbelievably comfortable, with fantastic views from every window. I could have spent days laying in the bed and looking out the overhead window. Pete is a really nice guy, and all of his information was really helpful. Will definitely return.

The idyllic forest hideaway 20 minutes from Mt Baw Baw Ski Village. Moose Head Lodge is one of a kind; off-grid, warm and comfortable, a little quirky and oh so peaceful.
We love Moose Head Lodge. An off-grid gem where you can truly stop and take in the natural beauty. Comfortable, considered and truly unique. You'll feel at home the minute you enter, bedrooms prepared with beautiful linen, a bottle of wine to settle proper and special touches make Moose Head Lodge a place you'll remember. ‘Our teenage daughter stayed in the loft and read many of the books, she took a particular liking to the quirky Tim Burton book and played a record whilst we played cards.’ — Sharon ‘I had high expectations for Moose Head, and yet I was still blown away. Such a charming house, beautiful location and a very well stocked kitchen.’ — Aidan 'As well as enjoying the Lodge we found time for some lovely gum tree forest strolls, a short drive to the snow for some spring tobogganing, and breathing in lots of clean mountain air. We only just left and we're already planning our next Moose Head Lodge adventure!' — Jane 'Our typical day there was in the morning with birds and tea, short drive to the Mt Baw Baw and back for a bush walk. Very very quiet. Very thoughtful hosts who also prepared toys for kids.' — Ashlee 'Loved all sitting around the fire at night with the dim lighting and playing the many board games.' — Ashlyn 'We loved your music collection and that you have chosen thoughtful products to clean and use in your fantastic space.' — Sarah 'A great escape from the rushes of everyday life and loads of character here.' — Gabby 'There is a plethora of quality blankets and rugs — perfect for fireside relaxation. The beds were fabulous, perfect after our novice (and frequently painful) days on the snow. There was plenty of music. There were books and board games. Our children's initial horror at discovering there was no wifi was short-lived. They were immediately relaxed and we had lovely family nights around the fire.' — Kirsten ‘We loved every minute of our stay (Even our dog didn't want to leave!)’ — Rachel 'It was a time of reconnecting with our kids, adventure, much laughter and also a time to stop and recharge our batteries. An experience we will look back on fondly for many many years.'  — Simone 'Equipped with plenty of movies, games, music etc. so we never got bored, great views from all around with tonnes of photo opportunities with nature and the birds.' — Eden 'Sitting outdoors you look out at the the massive gum tree forest with the sun peeking through, and all you will hear is the different bird calls.' — Mary 'The pantry is filled with all the staples you would need and the record player and collection didn't stop all weekend. A great collection of books and games meant we had something to do when we got tired of bushwalking or just watching the wildlife from the veranda. We can't wait to come back.'  — Paul 'The whole aesthetic of the space was beautiful, the scenery oh so peaceful and location very secluded. Perfect for a romantic getaway, or a getaway with a group of friends.' — Jeneile 'Children were very sad to leave, even fought back tears as we left!'  — Jeremy and Nikki Insta @hellofrommoosehead
Matt & Rachel’s home is located in Tanjil Bren, Victoria, Australia. Snow fields are just 20 minutes away. There's some fabulous walking to be done at Mt Baw Baw during the warmer months and some lovely walking and mountain bike tracks around Tanjil Bren.  There are no shops, and that's just the way we like it.
  • Perfect getaway , full of thoughtful touches and very well equipped kitchen. Lots of wood provided for the fire.

    Ashkan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Matt and Rachel have created a very cosy and peaceful place. They were very thoughtful in all communication and the house set up to make sure we got the best out of our stay. We’ll be back.

    Sue2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect quiet weekend getaway. Although would have loved to stay a bit longer. Matt and Rachel know how to make your stay pleasant and easy with a well stocked kitchen in case you forget something and little notes to help with the fire and pizza oven. We loved putting out some seed to watch the gorgeous birds as we ate breakfast in the mornings. The bed was comfortable, we slept really well. Life slowed down and we enjoyed the peace and quiet. There were plenty of books, CDs and games to fill the time we'd usually fill with Tech. We will come back and most likely bring our kids.

    Lisa2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay, you won't be disappointed. Matt & Rachel were great hosts and their accommodation and location was beautiful. Thanks again

    Daniel2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • I had high expectations for Moose Head, and yet I was still blown away. Such a charming house, beautiful location and a very well stocked kitchen. If only I lived in Victoria I'd probably be a regular visitor.

    Aidan2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Five of us came to stay at Moose Head Lodge and we couldn't have been happier with our stay. All the little touches that Rachel and Matt put in make staying in this beautiful cabin even more incredible. And with great communication whenever needed. Would recommend the mushroom rocks walk nearby. Looking forward to coming back and seeing it in the winter.

Welcome to Big Patsa's Place, located in Big Pats Creek which is fully fenced and gated and only a 6 minute drive to central warburton. The house is set on a beautiful and peaceful 1 acre of land bursting with wildlife, its one of the most relaxing places in warburton. There are multiple family's of birds that visit on a daily including King Parrots, Rosella's, Kookaburra's, and willy wag tails, along with many other bird species. During spring you’ll see many ducklings, and baby rabbits
The house is fully selfcontained and located just before the Big Pats Creek bridge , which is great for fishing with small brown trout and freshwater crayfish that are caught on a daily basis, your welcome to bring your own fishing gear or use our 2 fishing rods. During summer its a great place to cool down or even walk the creek it has some amazing features and is great to explore with the kids. There is a trampoline, swing set games and toys for the kids along with a large selection of movies for families. At only $190per night for 4 people and only an additional $50 for each person after that up to 11, we think this is by far the best value for money for families and groups of people visiting in warburton. If you enjoy bush walks you are at the start of the Walk into History. The Big Pats Creek to Starling Gap trek follows the Federal tramway, which was constructed in 1933 and used by the timber workers in the area. You will be able to locate lengths of the old tram tracks by the side of the path in some places, for more information you can google this, a great journey into history. For the trail bike & mountain bike rider's there is no better place. You can ride straight from the front gate with hundreds of kilometers of tracks and trails throughout the upper yarra forest, for the dirt bike rider try the Big Pats Creek to the Reefton Pub trail, challenging but fun. For the bike riders we have 10 bikes that everyone is welcome to use during your stay, there are 4 Adult bikes, 3 Medium size bikes and a couple of smaller bikes for toddlers, or you can still bring your own there is plenty of space in both sheds on the property to store both dirt and mountain bikes, there are some bike helmets and 2 toboggans if your heading up to the snow on Mt Donna Buang. At the rear of the property and through the gate is your own private rain forest to explore, during the winter months it has a small creek that runs through it that can lead you down to other parts of Big Pats Creek. You have the run of the entire house and property which at 28Sqs of living space it has plenty of room for 2 or more families or a group of friends of up to 11 people. The House Ground Floor The Main Bedroom has a Queen Bed, ensuite, walk in robe, electric fireplace, parents retreat with lounges and TV The 2nd Bedroom has a Queen Bed, wardrobe and small TV with direct access to main bathroom Lounge room, dining table, DVD, high chairs, ironing board, butlers pantry and laundry with dish washer and washing machine the dryer is located in the Bungalow Main Bathroom with Shower toilet and bath, towels, bed linen, pillows are all included, you may want to bring your own linen or towels for longer stays if you don't wish to use the washing machine. There is no Wi-Fi however 3G and 4G phones and devices have good reception 1'st Floor The 3rd Bedroom is located at the top of the stairs and has a double bed with a single bed and trundle this is a large room and sleeps 3 or 4 people it has a set of draws for clothes The 4th Bedroom is a loft style room set up for the younger kids, with 2 single beds and a trundle, lego table, rocking horse, kids pram, and some other toys for the children to enjoy. Our 2 younger children love staying in this room. The 3rd living area is between bedrooms 3 and 4 and is a fantastic space with its own lounge suite and TV. This is a large room for either the children or to get away from them :-) It has wonderful views from the unique windows. Kitchen and Butlers Pantry The main kitchen is larger than normal with a huge amount of bench space. The rustic bench tops were made from the old oak tree on the property a number of years ago. It has an induction stove and oven with all the pots, plates, cups and cuttlery supplied for you during your stay including fridge and microwave. Tea coffee, coffee machine and sugar are provided and a small pantry of staples. Along with the conventional oven is a rayburn combustion wood fire oven. Big Pats Creek during winter can be cold so we have oil heaters in every room and electric fire places in the Main room and main lounge. There is also a split system for cooling and heating on the ground floor and first floor The Bungalow is a games room with pool table dart board Bluetooth speaker and bar. You can access the bungalow for the clothes dryer. The Property We allow pets but this is limited to 2 Dogs, they are free to roam the property and there is also an encloser, the fences are about 4ft high so if you have dogs that like to jump you may need to have them on a long lead. If they are inside please don't allow them on the furniture or bedding. As always please pick up after your dogs bins are on the property and are collected each Wednesday. We allow fires in the fire flu on the deck (Please always check fire restrictions) I supply wood for a small fire however there is always plenty of wood on the ground in the near by bush or the local IGA and hardware store have it in stock. The fire place on the deck can be used all year round (Please always check fire restrictions however). During the autum and winter months there will be lots of leaves around the property which cant be burnt during June and July. Being a country property there is the occasional power outage, this does'nt occur very often however it may happen. Power is normally restored within a few hours if there is a problem we have flashlights and candles if needed. The water for the property comes directly from the upper yarra river, and is'nt treated with chlorine or fluoride which is great, we all drink the water however I recommend you drink the water from the water cooler. We have septic tanks so please be careful not to flush any sanitary items or use any type of bleach in the 3 toilets. Parking There is a carport that fits 2 SUV's easily along with a parking bay half way up the drive way for an additional 2 cars. If you have more than 4 cars you can park through the gate at the back door of the property. (Max 5 Cars at the property). The drive way is reasonably long, if you have trailers with bikes it's easier to drive into the property and turn around rather than backing it down the drive way. We have put together a guide on all the wonderful sites and attractions that warburton has to offer but if your not sure you can contact me via email or mobile, You don't have to check out until 11am the next day so you don't have to rush. The property manager lives just next door so if you have any problems feel free to contact me and I will send him over. Please enjoy your stay and we look forward to having you visit us soon Emma
  • Just perfect! The house is huge and the location is lovely, in the middle of the forest. With parrots on the porch!

  • Quick and friendly response, very fair pricing. Prime location in a beautiful rain forrest, this rustic and charming house was a great place to stay for us. The kids loved it thanks to plenty of toys and a big garden. Movies and an abundance of games helped us to get through a rainy day. Maybe also because of the rainy weather, some rooms appeared to be a little bit damp, but otherwise very clean and in excelent state.

    Stephan2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Emma’s house is spacious and suits a couple of families and has three different living areas. Our Labrador loved running around the secure and spacious garden. Emma is a great host who communicates well. Thank you for a lovely stay.

  • This is the perfect getaway just outside of Warburton. The house is everything you could ask for- spacious, clean, multiple living areas and all with stunning views of the trees and birds. It is so close to multiple walking tracks that would take days to complete if you were keen. It is only 7 mins from shops and supermarket but was lovely to be away from that in nature. Emma is so helpful and quick to respond. Definitely hope to return.

  • A lovely spacious house in a beautiful setting. So much to do in Marysville and surrounds - for us lots of riding and running, with the house a perfect base

    Sue2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Light & airy, with wonderful birdlife, and although a few houses around, there is still a sense of privacy, with delightful views across the hills. Enjoyed our stay immensely! Sharon

    Sharon2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved our time at Ester's place. The biggest surprise was the location - it's close to a small creek, that when you cross over joins with a track leading up to Stevenson's falls. The best for any nature lover! Our kids loved playing in the creek & especially loved seeing the Fall's at night time (thanks for the recommendation Ester). Otherwise the space is stylish and we loved having a huge range of movies to watch at night time! Thanks so much. Highly recommend to any families or couples.

Mornings in the bath tub which was big enough for two to the sunrise over the lake, and ending the day with the most magical stars and incredible silence. Coffee pods, beautiful linen, music system and even firewood. What more could you ask for... We cannot wait to return, thank you so very much for sharing your home.

  • Absolutely gorgeous stay, the house was amazing and extremely homely and made the getaway so comfortable. The highlight was definitely the view, the pictures definitely do not do it justice and we ended up spending a whole day just enjoying the incredible view of the lake! Absolutely stunning

  • The Lakehouse was such an amazing stay, we can't recommend it highly enough! Myself and two others were in the area for a worm trip and the Lakehouse was the perfect retreat to settle into after a long day of driving and working. Apart from the view being gorgeous, the beds were comfortable and the bathroom incredibly luxurious. Carmen was quick to respond to all my questions as well which was very helpful! Definitely consider staying here!

    Sebastien2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • The Lakehouse was absolutely STUNNING,if you think the photos of the view are beautiful wait until you are there. The lake is constantly changing throughout the day. Most of our weekend was spent on the deck or in the bath. The house was perfect, clean, homely and had everything we needed. The towels smelt AMAZING ( i need to know what softner you use). Honestly if you want a beautiful place to relax, unwind and slow down to enjoy life then stay at the Lakehouse. We were even able to take our furbaby too. My newly renovated, pitched roof bungalow cabin overlooks the Eildon Valley. Styled with clean lines and rich colours, Top Of The Town is perfect for couples getaway. I have recently renovated the courtyard and added an outdoor spa bath. This space is perfect for sunbathing, reading a book and enjoying the spectacular view.
My guesthouse is a one bedroom open plan studio space with a kitchenette and bathroom. The property has a great view of the valley (especially from the outdoor spa). We back onto state forest, where I regularly walk my dog through the cool mossy bush lands 50m from my back door step. .. It's really beautiful. Hikes and mountain bike tracks are a stones throw away. The courtyard is LUSH. Its a perfect spot for a morning yoga session, relaxing with a book and soaking up the Vitamin D! I have designed the space to provide guests with optimum privacy, collect the best of the morning sun and be shaded in the afternoon. I recommend sipping some delicious wine or a fruity cocktail in the sunshine or soak the night away under a million stars. It's not uncommon to see kangaroos, foxes, wombats, echidna and deer in the early morning and evening. We are a short stroll from the local swimming pool and town shops. Enjoy Lake Eildon! renown for its excellent water skiing and fishing. The Goulburn river is not to be missed. Kayaks, SUP boards and picnic boats can be hired on the lake. Take a drive up to Pinanger lookout (do not miss this - look it up) or tour Skyline road. If you are travelling from Melbourne - make sure you come via the Yarra Valley. Don't miss the Yarra Yalley world class wineries, Yarra Valley Dairy cheese is to die for and of course the Chocolate Factory. Marvel at the beauty of the mountain ash and ancient rainforest in the "Black Spur" on Maroondah Hwy. Beechworth Bakery in Healesville have delicious pies and pastries too. The space is best suits couples but can accomodate a small family or 3 adults who don’t mind close quarters via the click down sofa.
What do I love about my neighbourhood? Epic sunsets, watching the moon creep over the skyline, frogs croaking in the evening, hundreds of birds of different species and the smell of eucalyptus in the clean country air!
  • Lauren was a great host, everything was super clean! I highly recommend Eildon and THE TOP OF THE TOWN as a destination! Don't miss out the hot tub with a stunning mountain view

  • We had a fantastic stay at Lauren’s place! The space was just as described, was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The spa bath was great - two of us fit in easily - and the views and peaceful surroundings from outside make this place what it is. Lauren welcomed us on our arrival and was quick to reply throughout our stay. Overall we loved it and we would love to head back anytime!

  • We had an amazing stay at Top of the Town. It was perfect for our getaway from Melbourne and Lauren was a superb host who gave us lots of local knowledge. The outdoor spa was also great as a cool off on the hotter days we had while in Eildon. Highly recommend.

  • Top of the town was amazing, we loved our stay so much and the main reason was the service we got from Lauren, she was amazing and not only was she amazing but the view was incredible and the place was clean, nice and cosy! Disenfected regularly for your peace of mind. Breathe in nature. Outside the air is crisp and clean and there’s a vast expanse of forest to discover just waiting to be explored. Fun for everyone. Lake Mountain/Marysville is a wonderland for both day-trippers and overnight guests wanting an accessible snow/pool/riding/hiking experience within close proximity of Melbourne. Fantastic location close to township
Walking distance to the township approx 250 meters but on its own block of land and very private quiet space.

Double doors off the stately lounge and television room with gas heating take you through into the upscale and funky dining room with your own fridge, microwave, tea, coffee, basic condiments etc. This room has an open fireplace, perfect for cold Winter nights as well as central heating throughout. As described by a friend....this room just makes me want to curl up and read a book! You are most welcome to do exactly that :)
Lansdowne is a tree lined street straight off the highway and close to all amenities but has to be one of the quietest streets in Sale! CBD, hospital, gym, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, the imposing Lake Guthridge and adjoining Lake Guyatt are all within a few minutes walk. The Sale Botanical Gardens are awe-inspiring with native flora and fauna in abundance. They are well worth a visit and we are lucky to have this impressive tourist attraction. A couple of hours will get you to Melbourne City, closer is the Lakes District, Seaspray and Golden Beach - part of the the 90 mile beach, the snowfields and the mountains. The Port of Sale is the gateway to the Wellington Lakes and further on to Lakes Entrance. The wetlands is a nature walk that takes you through to the historical Swing Bridge.
  • A beautiful, clean space, with all of the needed amenities. Great location too! This was my first experience using AirB&B and I was definitely surprised with the overall experience. Robby was a wonderful host, and I would highly recommend her property.

    Kate2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This has been one of my favourite places to stay. Robby has great taste in decor, making it warm and welcoming yet unique. The bed is very comfy and rooms spacious.

  • Luxury on Lansdowne is a treat for guests heading down to Sale. The home is exceptionally stylish, spacious and welcoming. Note the aesthetically pleasing bathroom, King size bed and confy lounge. If you're looking for a relaxing getaway Robby's place is definitely the place to be!

    Alicia2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Robby's house for 5 nights. Robby is a very nice lady and a great host. Her place is really luxurious sanctuary for a couple who want to have a nice holiday break. It is beautiful, very cosy, spacious, clean and warm. Very comfortable bed and excellent amenities. Large bedroom with en-suite, spacious lounge room and beautiful dinning room with large table. Although there is no kitchen (it is private) Robby was very kind to allow us to use it when required and was caring about us and making sure that we always have clean dishes. Great location! Her house is located very close (just 5 min walk) to the lake and Sale Botanic Gardens. It is also very close to the Town Centre, shops and even public transport if required. We would love to stay here again!

    Alexander2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Robby is a great host. She has given a lot of thought and care into making her Airbnb have that touch of luxury throughout. There is also a magic dinner table where all the dirty dishes disappear and come back clean - something of note! Robby is a very considerate host, making our stay most welcome.

Historic Cottage in an idyllic setting. The cottage is only metres away from the iconic Howqua River. Unique features with absolute luxury. It is small and intimate, perfect for the romantic getaway or a fisherman's weekend.
  • Andrew’s place was outstanding, the location is so lovely being right on the river and the amenities were first class. We took our dogs who were more than welcome and they had an absolute ball. There were thoughtful touches all throughout the cottage that make for the most pleasant stay and Andrew was a lovely host. We would love to come back another time.

    Sophie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • The Miners Cottage was luxurious with a lovely big spa, wood fire, and high quality linen. This was our second visit and we really enjoyed our stay again. The setting is especially lovely as it’s beside the Howqua river.

    Rick2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • A stunning getaway. Your own private cottage (which is well appointed), amongst the trees and river. The Oak out the back is particularly spectacular. We will be back.

    Michael2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • My hubby myself and my two doggos had the best time ever! Loved everything about the place. The cottage has this rustic look with the most gorgeous cosy room inside with jacuzzi. You can simply enjoy a glass of wine lying in your bathtub and admire the beautiful scenery from the window. The sound of the river flowing, birds chirping and the stars in the sky at night is simply priceless. Thank you Andrew for being a wonderful host and maintaining this place so well. I would love to come back:)

  • Sometimes all you need is a little luxury, a little tranquillity, the sound of running water to revitalise the soul. This wonderfully renovated historic miners cottage is a real gem; perfect for summer and winter escapes. Absolutely loved our 3 nights at River Downs - and would recommend to anyone that enjoys getting back in touch with nature with a splash of comfort and luxury

    Emma2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is just the best- it’s cozy, stylishly furnished and really well equipped, with a good kitchen, nice sheets and fluffy towels. Beautifully located by the river, the gardens are carefully cared for and the whole property is just beautiful in the most idyllic setting. You can tell that a lot of love and care goes in to care for this whole property by Andy. A perfect break from the city to just completely switch off, we just loved every minute spent in and around the cottage- by the fire; under the oak tree by the river; and taking walks in the nearby surrounds. Our dog loved her stay just as much as we did and was just so happy running around the garden exploring. Can’t wait to come back.

Howes Creek Town Hall is a historic Mechanics Institute, 15 Minutes from Mansfield, 5 minutes from Goughs Bay (Lake Eildon) and 45 minutes from the top of Mt Buller. The B&B has a separate entrance, with a loft bedroom and open plan kitchenette and living room. Our property is surrounded by hundreds of picturesque acres of farmland, hills and mountains. It is a still, breath of fresh air away from hectic city life. Gaze at the stars as you drift off to sleep and wake up and listen to the birds.
We are a young family who strive towards balanced work/ life commitments and who are striving towards a more self sustaining lifestyle. We have a large veggie garden, bake our own bread and are learning the art of preserving. There are fantastic local restaurants and great outdoor recreation activities close at hand (mountain biking, skiing, boating, paddling, hiking, rail trail or just enjoying the local surrounds)
Howes Creek farm is a lovely little farm just down the road that serves simple food and wine. They are doing dinners on a Friday night but be sure to book.
  • Suzanne and Paul’s place was lovely. They were communicative hosts and we had all the info needed. The apartment was clean and well equipped. As the host’s house shares a wall with the apartment, I did get woken up by the sound of them walking up/down the stairs in the morning so if you’re a sensitive sleeper (I am) then I’d suggest earplugs!

The place is remarkably clean. Stunning views. Good location. There are loads of space to store our clothes (more than enough clothes hangers). Enough towels for everyone and kitchen cutleries are provided if there’s a need to cook. Keep up the good work, Georgina.. you have done a gd job of maintaining the place and making your guests’ stay at Mount Hotham a memorable one.

  • We had a amazing stay at the apartment of Heather and John. They are a lovely couple and helped us so much with our planes as we arrived at their home due the time of the bushfires. They room and bath are extraordinary beautiful and clean and the breakfast was perfect. Thank you for for the nice time. We would highly recommend everyone to stay there.

    Christian2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such amazing hosts and hospitality. The place is exactly as described, we got lovely coffee and food in the morning and John and Heather were so warm and friendly. Highly recommend it if you're in Sale

    Annie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • It’s the best BnB I’ve ever been. Amazing place and considerate host. Remind us that the way to our next destination Lakes Entrance is closed because of the severe bush fire which allowed us to get more time to change our plan. Definitely recommend my friend to there!!

    菩提2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This place is exceptionally clean, comfortable and convenient. Heather and John are truly the best hosts! Apart from good value, perfect accommodation and “like home” feel, Heather also have given lots of tips to get around the area and kindly made coffee for us in the morning. I highly recommend this accommodation! I hope the guests will also respect all the efforts the hosts take to make this place that homely.

    Victor2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely place to stay, very good value, generous breakfast, private rooms with colourful garden views. Heather and John go above and beyond to give personal touches and comfort. It was a very comfortable and convenient one-night stopover on our trip.

    Jodie2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This property is well described and certainly lived up to our expectations. It is simple, yet attractive and homely. Kasey had the fire going before we arrived and the mud bricks helped to keep the place warm. There are no amazing views, but the location is great and the property is very good value for money. Kasey was very prompt in replying to messages, but also gave us space. Highly recommended.

  • We didn’t end up staying at Dilin’s place due to fire warnings in neighbouring regions. Even though the fire warnings did not directly affect the area, Dilin was really understanding and gave us thorough advice. We decided to cancel and come another time and Dilin provided us with a full refund promptly (with only a day’s notice). We are really grateful and hope we’ll be able to come and stay soon.

Set on the banks of the beautiful Goulburn River, the cabin is ideal for a romantic escape, family getaway or weekend with friends. You can choose to do a multitude of activities in the area or just relax by the river in summer or by the fire in winter.
The spacious open plan living and dining area has cathedral ceilings, a fire-place made from locally sourced slate, a cosy wood-heater, a huge comfy couch and large dining table. Relics from the gold-mining days adorn the walls and the 70's touches are a nod to the era in which the cabin was built. I wish to provide guests with a ‘technology detox' so there is no TV and no wifi. There is mobile service only with Telstra. Music can be played on the Bose sound system using a device pre-loaded with music such as an iPhone. There is a large trunk full of games and jigsaw puzzles suitable for adults and plenty of books and magazines. Floor to ceiling windows offer a lovely view across the lawn to the river and a glass door opens onto an expansive deck complete with comfy couch and arm chairs. The perfect spot to curl up and enjoy a morning cuppa or an afternoon drink and just enjoy the view. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need and has a walk in pantry. An espresso machine (BYO beans), a selection of teas, Vittoria coffee for the plunger or dripolater, sugar and pantry essentials such as oil, vinegars, sauces, salt and pepper, herbs and spices are provided. There are two large fridges, one with a small freezer. There is an electric oven and stove-top as well as a microwave. There is a separate toilet and spacious bathroom with shower over the bath. Locally made 'Dindi Natural' hand & body wash is provided. There are two bedrooms one with a queen bed, the second with a double bed and a set of bunks. Woollen quilts, a range of hypo-allergenic pillows, luxurious 1000 thread count sheets, quality quilt covers and towels are provided. Electric blankets are on the beds in the cooler months. WOODEN TENT There is the option for up to 2 people to sleep in a comfy wooden tent beside the river. There is still a maximum of 6 guests per booking, and use of the tent must be pre-arranged There are outdoor chairs, sun loungers, hammocks a yoga mat and an outdoor dining table. Choose to cook on the large gas BBQ/oven, or cook on the wood-fired bbq (fire-ban restrictions permitting)
The cabin is set on the banks of the Goulburn River surrounded by state forest, a 10 minute drive from Jamieson and 55 minutes from the base of Mt Buller. The historic Kevington Hotel just a 5 minute walk up the road offers great pub meals, a pool table and at times, has live entertainment on the purpose built stage beside the river. Jameson is a 10 minute drive where you will find a well stocked general store, cafe, pub, tennis court for hire, laundry facilities, a local history museum, the Jamieson Brewery and Grill, and the Jamieson Berry Farm. There are lots of historic buildings in town and there are maps for self guided walks at the cabin. Apart from fishing for trout (you must have a licence) and swimming at your back door, the local area offers horse riding, snow sports at Mt Buller as well as cross country skiing, fishing and water sports on nearby lake Eildon. The boat ramp at Howqua is just 15 minutes drive away. The Howqua Caravan Park rents canoes and stand up paddle boards to use on the lake. You could visit one of the many local wineries and the farmers market is every 4th Saturday of the month in the main street of Mansfield. Pack sturdy walking shoes for bushwalking, there are walks of all levels, either along the bitumen road or along the numerous 4wd tracks into the bush. The tracks are great for mountain bikes too and the winding road with the river running beside it, is popular with cyclists. Visit the ruins of the old Kevington township, up the track across the road from the cabin, or the old gold mines that are dotted over the countryside. Do not walk off the track as the area is riddled with old gold mines. Fishing rods are provided, bye lure(no bait required but you must have a license to fish). There is a huge tube for lazing around on the swimming hole or for floating down the river (arrange a pick up further down the road). The river is very popular with canoeists. There are several lovely swimming holes on the property but note that the river rocks can be slippery so it's advisable to wear old trainers or appropriate footwear. Children must be supervised at all times. Depending on the season you can pick blackberries, plums, apples, oranges, bay leaves, mint, parsley and rosemary on the property.
  • Just a wonderful cabin to stop and rest and spend time as a family. There is not much to do but that's just perfect with the river running by!

    Emma2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to unwind and recharge we loved our stay.

    John2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow. This beautiful place was everything I’d hoped it to be, and some!! As tranquil as you could imagine, yet I felt a sense of security with a sealed main road just outside the gate. Communication with Sam was an absolute pleasure - clear, yet very relaxed. More thoughtful touches, practical information, safety information & local information than you could ask for - and the location & position of this beautiful cabin with total ease of access to the river is just bliss. For those wanting to take their fur baby, the only thing to consider is that what fencing is there isn’t enough to secure them - so 24/7 supervision is required unless you & your fur baby are comfortable for them to be tied up at times. Usually I’m not one to visit the same place more than once, but this place has stolen a piece of my heart... I’ll definitely be back!! Steph (... & Ava)

    Stephanie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Samanthas cabin is something special. Super clean and beautifully furnished/decorated. With no phone signal/WiFi/tv, it is kind of like camping...but much more luxury! Samantha was a great host.

    Raghib2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful and peaceful location. The kids were kept busy running around and playing in the river. Easy access to local historical attractions. A lovely place to stay for families looking for a holiday reminiscent of the days where kids could run around all day and everybody relaxed and slept well at the end of the day. Thank you for sharing your place Sam.

Intimate for 2, comfortable for 10. The Paradise Retreat Lakehouse is situated on the banks of Lake Eildon in Jamieson. • Lovely large house, and beautifully appointed bedrooms. The large deck was partially covered, so perfect for both sun and shade lovers! Lots of outdoor furniture for just chilling out and looking at the amazing view. Watching the stars at night was especially nice.

    Rebecca2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great house, perfect for small or large groups. There were 8 of us in total but we weren't on top of each other. The living area is large but cosy with a fireplace and heaps of couches, chairs and armchairs. No doubt the deck in summer is a great spot to lounge in the warmer weather. The house was spotless, lovely sheets and towels, 2 bathrooms, kitchen fully stocked with cookware and all in a beautiful and peaceful location. Even though the lake was empty, the outlook is still magical.

    Corinne2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Great Place

    Sam2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a lot more than what you see in the photos. We were there for two nights and didn't even leave the house. The deck overlooking the lake is amazing and we got to hand feed a friendly kookaburra in the morning. The fire place is pretty cosy and kept all of downstairs warm, kitchen is pretty much stack with everything you need for a great weekend away!

    Heshan2019-05-19T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely place to stay, beautiful location, the lake was dried up when we were there but still stunning views and a great place to relax. Plenty of space in the house, very well equipped, and fantastic for our daughter and dog having all that space to run and play in the garden out the front.

    Ellen2019-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great space for a large group. We had 6 adults, 3 kids and a baby and were very comfortable. There was no water at the rear of the property (which Nick had informed us of) when we stayed but still a great spot.

Allow the family to get back to nature without having to put up a tent. Our two bedroom home comfortably sleeps 4 (possibly 5). Just a short drive to the tourist hub of Warburton, so you can grab coffee and cake. There is a local pub and bush walks.
Off grid living means that you can have an eco friendly break. The home is run on solar. There is a queen bed in the main bedroom and a bunk as well as a double in the kids room. There is also a trundle bed in the kids room and a day bed in the lounge. This light filled home offers views into the beautiful bush all around.
A short walk down the hill leads to the creek and further along, the historic Reefton Hotel. Behind the house is a Melbourne Water aquaduct, perfect for walking along.
  • Perfect weekend bush retreat. Very cosy, rustic getaway amongst tall trees and bird life with ideal facilities and loads to do in a handy location. Quick, clear, easy communications. We loved it. Thanks!

  • A place to switch off and relax. While we were blessed with gorgeous weather during our stay I have no doubt Daniella's place will please many more regardless of the weather.

  • Beautiful location in the bush bordered by Yarra Ranges National Park. Great walks and local exploration or just hang out in the cabin by the fire. Friendly neighbours we very much enjoyed giving our food scraps to the chooks across the road.

  • Great off-grid property, well stocked with indoor activities if weather doesn't cooperate and close to nature and all its beauty!

  • A perfect getaway from modern pressures to enjoy the bush & relax in your cozy cabin. There was so much to do without internet & TV, our family & pooches loved it. Thank you!

    Kim2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • The property was a great place for a digital detox, with lots of peace and quiet barring the kookaburras, cockatoos, cicadas, neighbour's donkeys, roosters and a whole bunch of unidentified birds. Very cozy beds, clean linen, well-equipped kitchen. We didn't use the fireplace. Great connectivity to local sights and also the Yarra Valley. We had a wonderful time and hope to come back again.

  • Daniella’s place was even better than expected. A beautiful, rustic space with lots of bird life and a lovely outlook onto trees. The bed is comfy, the bath is lovely and the wood fire heater keeps you nice and warm. Would definitely stay again.

  • Elly and Peter were completely lovely! The apartment was perfect for us and our toddler, with lots of toys and things to keep her entertained. It was very clean as well. Elly and Peter went above and beyond to look after us and even provided us with fresh fruit from their orchard and cooked us a lovely breakfast of their fresh eggs. Our toddler loved meeting all of the animals and feeding them, it was the highlight for her! I’d definitely recommend staying here, and it’s a great base for exploring the area and the wineries.

The Studio has been recently refurbished. It has a kitchenette with small fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, rice cooker, electric frypan and portable hotplate plus ample crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils. The bedroom has a double bed with the ability to sleep an additional person on a single bed in the loft (via a timber ladder). There is a TV and DVD player and reverse cycle air-conditioning to keep you cosy in winter and cool in summer. • Perfect location for me at the bottom of the mountain and super close to local communities. Loved the studio with its little extras. The balcony was great for a home cooked breakfast. Will stay again, highly recommend. Pete was always available for any questions about the area or just for good old chat.

    Craig2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I would certainly recommend staying at Pete’s place. From the outset, the communication was quick. The location was excellent being just out of Mt. Buller. The place itself was clean and tidy and well set out with everything you need, as evidenced in the photos. Pete gives plenty of advice on things to do in the area.

    Peter2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and comfortable. Impressed with how much effort Pete has made to make the places part of the environment.

    Linda2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • A delightful place! The lovely renovated kitchen & bathroom was well equipped, with thoughtful touches like shampoo/conditioner, moisturizer ample dishwashing detergent etc. The entire space was peaceful and relaxing; the big glass panels and windows brings you out into the outdoors, plus there was a cute little balcony, in which parrots and a cockatoo visited daily:) The whole place was truly such a treat! Loved it! Peter was also an attentive host. One piece of advice though (& nothing to do with Peter’s lovely country studio): ensure you have Telstra up in this area, as I had zero service with Optus bar SOS! (My gf, however, who arrived a day after had full service with her Telstra) . It made it tricky for me to stay in contact with my biking friends to make final plans, & my family. I also had sporadic service on Mt Buller too when mountain biking, prompting me to finally switch over to Telstra!

    Michelle2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay. Great host. Great vacation!

    Nikita2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully kept studio apartments. Very clean. Stylish design. Stunning location. Much cheaper than paying mountain top prices. Studio made from recycled materials for that extra special added charm. Very tame rainbow parrot landed on balcony every night. Would definitely recommend. Perfect for cycling up Buller. Or can cycle mountain bike up and do Epic trail and finish up very close to studio. 10/10

  • Had a fantastic stay at that this unique hideaway. My friends and I had a full day of riding mountain bikes at lake mountain, it was a great place to come back to at the end of the day. The location is perfect, easy walk into town but far enough away it feels like you're in the bush. The fireman's pole and rock climbing wall were good for a bit of fun too. Everything was nice and clean and all facilities worked well. Thanks again for having us, we will be back again.
