This space is even better than the pictures can reveal. It is a wonderful space to hang out in and a perfect location to explore Cape Breton. Every detail has been thought about. The bed is extremely comfortable. It is very clean and beautiful. The views are absolutely breathtaking. We hope we can get back there soon.

We stayed here for 6 days during Celtic Colours. The property is superb in every way. It is ideally located close to the Gaelic College and Baddeck, giving you easy access to many of the excellent music and cultural events. John and Rosella are superb hosts.

It doesn't get any better than that. The lighthouse truly is one of the best accomodations we have had so far. Every detail is well thought out and arranged with love. The location and view are awesome. Plus the nice supplies that our hosts provided, including a bottle of wine. We would love to return one day.

Had the most wonderful time at this beautiful lighthouse - we are bummed we didnt book for longer! The view, fireplace, comfortable bed... everything was perfect. We stayed at the Lighthouse for three nights on our honeymoon and couldn’t have loved it more! It was cozy, awe inspiring and beautiful all in one shot. Rosella and John were the perfect hosts, and we hope to return some day!

A real gem run by two very thoughtful hosts!

Rosella and John's place was truly amazing! We had such an fantastic stay in Cape Breton. The Lighthouse was clean, spacious and had everything we needed and more! Our hosts went truly out of their way to make our stay extra special. We really enjoyed waking up to the ocean views, kayaking on the bay and spending time up at the top of the lighthouse. We would definitely recommend staying here!

This is a great place and we enjoyed our stay a lot. The lighthouse is a very special place and was one of our favorites during our 3 weeks in Nova Scotia. Rosella and John are wonderful hosts, easy to communicate with and always available for questions and tips. We only had 2 nights but we found everyting we needed for the stay. We did not have the time to use all the available thinks like the Weber grill on the terrace or the canoes to scout the sea. This is really a place to calm down. The interior design is beautiful and perfectly fit to the whole nice atmospere in the kitchen/living room. You always have the view over the sea and there is also an white-headed sea eagle flying around. We never saw one from such a short distance. Very impressive. I can strongly recommend this place. We had a wonderful and relaxed time and we plan to come back but then for a longer time. Thanks a lot Rosella and John for sharing this place with other people :-)

This spot was an absolute gem! Its amenities were very nice, and the interior design was a marvel. We would absolutely stay here again, Heike was a lovely host.

I highly recommend staying in this bus for a nice getaway while en route to the Cabot Trail. I loved all the detail they put into the bus. The propane stovetop worked great and all amenities have been covered. The bus was clean and had everything you could need, and the shared bathroom was very clean as well. Heike is a great host and is very accommodating as well as a great communicator. Everything was great and I would definitely stay here again.

This was an eclectic and quaint spot along the Cabot Trail. The accommodations were very private and clean. There is running cold water, but the water pressure is very low. Guests have access to a semi-private bathroom (shared with other guests) inside the home which was impeccably clean and modern. The bus stay at Heike's was a definite highlight of our trip!

The night in the bus was fun!!

My brother and I couldn’t have asked for a better host and place to stay at! It was super exciting staying in a bus and it surprisingly did not feel crowed with all the amenities! The host goes above and beyond giving restaurant options nearby with the times (open to close) and a phone number to call. Would definitely recommend!

This airbnb is right on the ocean – it can’t be beat. The cabin is very minimal, but has all the essentials. It’s rustic and could use a bit of cleaning, but honestly for the price and location we just can’t complain. If only it was a bit warmer, we would have made use of the hot tub facing the ocean. The evening we arrived it was quite chilly, so we used the fireplace to help heat the place up. There was an issue with smoke seeping into the room from cracks right under the mantle, so we did not use it again. Not sure if it was just the direction of the wind that evening or what, but it smoked us out enough to make us think twice about using it again. That really wouldn’t stop us from wanting to stay here again, since there are thermostats, and the temperature was easily controlled once we warmed the place up. Beautiful spot! Thank you for having us!

A great rustic cabin in a remote location on the Cabot Trail overlooking the ocean. It’s a great “retreat” with hot tub and ideally located for golf at Ingonish and Baddeck. A great place to get away from it all; no Wi-fi and patchy cell coverage...!

A beautiful property, an incredible view especially from the hot tub everything you need is provided just bring your food.

This place is wonderful. The bunkhouse was exactly what I was looking for...to be closer to the sea, you’d have to be on a boat!!! St. Ann’s Bay in full view, I spent the majority of my time on the bunkhouse porch, rocking in the rocking chairs in peace and tranquillity. The privacy is beyond any place I’ve stayed. Two boats passed during my time there. The only other visitors I had were shore birds, grey seals, and bald eagles. Falling asleep to the sea sounds after a dip in the hot tub...rejuvenating!!!

Quiet cabin with a great view!

Great location and value! It was very private as we had the property to ourselves. Directly on the ocean, we had a seal out front a couple nights. Only 40 Kms from Ingonish, excellent location for the Cabot Trail or if you are heading to Louisburg and Sydney areas. We would love to stay longer next time, 4 nights this time! Good communication with Kent, trouble free!

Convenient if you’re starting on counter-clockwise to Cabot Trail to check-in at 3pm so you’ve already seen / done part of it. Washroom is separate but the door is open for access to the washroom anytime. They turned on the light outside for me to see my way around. For me it’s a different experience- SAFE glamping is what it was. Host(s) are there in case. You see the moon and wake-up at the sunrise. Divine! Also, Clucking Hen (for breakfast / food) is 1 minute away!

I absolutely fell in love with this cozy little hut the moment I came up the driveway. Perfect place to stay for a night while on the way or leaving Cape Breton. Only met Heike shortly but she is a very friendly and heartminded person.

Great quick stop on our trip along the Cabot Trail. Even though we really only stopped to sleep and get up and go, we loved the gazebo. It's exactly what you need on a road trip, and it's super cute inside! Heike greeted us as we drove in and showed us around. She had a heater in the gazebo ready for us to use since it was a chilly night. Would definitely recommend and would stay again!

So glad I stayed at Loril’s place. Great location for all the Cabot trial activities. Full kitchen so I could make all my meals at home. Very comfortable bed. Loril was great to communicate with and very accommodating. No cell service but very fast internet. Thanks for a great stay :)

We had an excellent stay at Loril's place on the Cabot Trail. The place is very stylish and well-appointed, with all the appliances and cooking supplies you'd need. She is well situated for touring the Cabot Trail. Heed her warning about proximity to gas and grocery though! As you pass through Baddeck, you are entering a bit of a food and gas dessert.

Superior place to stay. Spacious, comfortable, lovely setting, gracious host, lots of books to make up for poor internet reception in the area. Recommend highly.

Loril’s place is located along a quieter part of the Cabot trail. It had everything we needed for our 2 day stay including a charcoal BBq. We brought our own portable propane bbq. Her place was very clean, tastefully decorated farmhouse style and bed was very comfortable. She also had a supply of books games and puzzles. There was no TV but the wifi worked great. We were gone all day and home around supper time. Lots of hiking trails around. Loril was quick to answer any questions we had and supplied us with information about the area. I would definitely recommend this place to rent Michele and Dwayne

This cozy little cottage made for the perfect fall get away. It had everything we needed to cook meals, it was sparkling clean and very comfortable. Getting there was no problem with google maps. There are also some really nice hiking trails within a 30 minute drive. We loved the beautiful view and sitting on the deck watching the water. There isn’t any wifi at this cottage, but we found we didn’t need it. Cell phone reception was perfectly fine! This is a lovely and very relaxing spot, would go back for sure!

This is a great cottage. You will have great views of the water. The kitchen has everything you need. There are nice decorator touches throughout the home. The cottage was very clean. We found the location to be very convenient for our itinerary. We wanted, of course, to do the Cabot Trail, but also see Louisbourg. This location was a good compromise. You will feel like you are in the woods ( which you are), but amenities are not far away. Follow Sheila’s suggestions for the 2 cafes. They were great. If I am fortunate to be able to return to Cape Breton Island, I would definitely like to stay here again.

The house is in a truly beautiful, secluded location above a cove which can be accessed down a steep path to a small beach. There is a large deck area which looks out to the water, a gas BBQ, and a line for hanging washing. Inside the house is tastefully furnished throughout. The kitchen is very well equipped but note there is no microwave oven. Downstairs is a lounge with an amazing selection of dvds for movie nights. Louisbourg Fortress is only about an hours drive and it is well worth planning a whole day for your visit. Baddeck is a pretty town beside the lake. Hurricane Dorian prevented us from travelling further afield. Sheila really is a super host - she allowed us to stay an unplanned extra night as we were advised not to drive in the aftermath of the hurricane. We would fully recommend Macleod Cove as an outstanding place to stay when visiting Cape Breton.

Sheila’s place was gorgeous! Easy communication and check in was the icing on the cake. Everything was as expected, and close to everything we wanted to do and see during our stay.

If you are looking for a great place to use as home base for day exploring from Baddeck to Louisbourg and the areas central to The Big Bras d'Or lakes. This is it. It is immaculate, well appointed and with a great kitchen for any range of meal. Morning coffee on the deck is super quiet and serene, it was like living in the Canadian wilds but just a quick drive out to the noisy Trans Canada Highway 105 and people/places/things.

We had an amazing stay! So beautifully decorated and cozy. We had everything we needed and more. We were given great instructions which made for an easy check in & check out. Elizabeth and Chris were just a phone call away. Highly recommend this spot. The Cabot Trail and the Taigh Gleann did not disappoint!

If you are looking for a place to stay so that you can experience the Cabot trail this is the perfect spot. Located near the start of the trail (right off the trail yet in a tranquil country setting). The home is very welcoming and decorated beautifully - the owners have thought of everything to make your stay comfortable. I would highly recommend this spot to anyone looking to visit the Cabot trail. Plan ahead as the closest store or gas station is about 30 minutes away but once you are there you can settle in for a relaxing visit that makes you feel like you are at home. Most importantly Beth is very quick to answer your questions and is very helpful with the information she provides

Chris and Beth’s place was beautiful and very well kept! Clean, elegantly furnished with a fully stocked kitchen, and all the information you need is provided before you arrive! Definitely felt like a home away from home!

This is a wonderful stylish home nestled in a tranquil location. The amenities are fantastic and Elizabeth and Chris are incredibly attentive and helpful. We couldn’t have asked for a nicer spot to stay to enjoy Cape Breton.

This place was amazing and spotless! Perfectly located right on the Cabot trail (made it super easy to explore) and Elizabeth was awesome in giving us great tips for our stay. Check in and check out was very efficient and easy. Kitchen has everything you need to cook, picking up groceries/filling up gas in Baddeck was a great tip. With the H. Dorian making its way to Cape Breton we also really appreciated that the home was well equipped with supplies should their have been an outage. Thanks for a great experience and the warm hospitality - will definitely be back to this beautiful home when we are back in Cape Breton!

What a beautiful view! We loved staring out the window into the ocean and the little bay, and walking down to the beach to explore with our toddler. Richard was quick to respond to our question about wifi, which was appreciated. We drove Cabot trail one day and stayed in the next. Very nice location 🤩

Very nice "bunk house" with great view of sound (bay?). Upstairs loft (3 single beds & bath) has ladder type access - not good for older folks or young kids. Downstairs bedroom with double bed is no problem for seniors (also bath downstairs). Unit is about 5 miles down a dirt road. Road is pretty good but there are some rough patches. Normal cars are no problem but will get pretty dirty.

Extremely clean and situated in a beautiful spot, this place is a real stand out. Great base for exploring the island.

Spectacular views!

If you’re looking for a retreat that is quiet and peaceful, this is the place. It is absolutely perfect. We enjoyed the scenic views of the ocean and pond from the deck or in the living area - the beavers were especially entertaining! Beach and pond access is just a short walk down a cleared maintained path. The house itself is absolutely quaint and the hospitality is wonderful. Highly recommend.

This was a little slice of heaven on Cape Dauphin. The views were gorgeous, the space was lovely.

What a little gem! Stunning location that is a great base to go exploring from. We were very lucky to be invited to a local fundraiser and we got a chance to meet many amazing local residents! Tara and Richard were amazing hosts!

Make sure you go for a walk to the beach. Oh and desert was fantastic.

Paul and his wife were amazing hosts (as were the staff), and the retreat was more than we could have ever expected. Guided meditation in the morning, hikes to waterfalls, amazing nature, cedar hot tub! The tiny home was very comfortable and clean as well. My only suggestion is to be more upfront with additional fees on the Airbnb listing - for example taxes are to be paid upon checkin and we were charged breakfast though in the listing it said it was included - Paul was great though and took care of these costs since they weren’t made clear on Airbnb, another example of the outstanding customer service. We will for sure be back!! Amazing place and amazing people!

Beautiful space. I stayed with a few girlfriends and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Went for a snowshoe down by the beach at sunset and woke up early to catch the sunrise. Stunning, plus amazing hospitality. Will definitely stay here again

Ton’s place was lovely! Check in was easy and he’s a fantastic host. The space itself was stunning - on the ocean and at night the sky is crystal clear/perfect for a relaxing getaway. The private bathroom areas were a lovely surprise - we didn’t end up eating at the cafe on site, but plan on making a point to do so the next time we’re in the area.

Great spot for an overnight getaway or a weekend trip. We brought our own snow shoes. Had a great time. :)

We had a lovely stay at the cabin, it was spotlessly clean and well heated for January! 2/4 of our group opted to get the linen package which was very well organized. We also had breakfast the morning of checking out which was delicious! Ton was an extremely friendly host and very helpful to answer any questions we had during our stay! I would highly recommend staying at this lovely cabin while visiting Ingonish!

Had an amazing time at ZzzMoose this weekend! Ton was amazingly accommodating when we ran into issues with a storm and allowed us to arrange our dates last minute. The cabin was beautiful, and the views amazing. Snow shoeing along the beach was certainly a highlight, and I recommend it to anyone looking for a fun winter activity to do while staying at the cabin. It is easy enough for beginners and the whole family to enjoy! The cafe was great, the food was delicious, home cooked, and reasonably priced. We will be back for sure!

This was our second stay and we will definitely be back! The cabins are cozy during the winter, the property is beautiful and in a great location for hikes and snowshoeing. The Cafe has great food or you can bring your own and cook in the deck. Would highly recommend.

My boyfriend had been talking about this place for weeks before we went and it exceeded all my expectations. Ton may be from away, but he had authentic island hospitality - I can't say enough good things about his management of these darling cabins. If you're looking for intimate, playful accommodations, this is the spot for you. My friendly advice is twofold: first, to bundle up well and watch the sunrise from the private beach, and second, to put your phone away during your stay; you're not going to want to miss a moment.

Amazing place, modern and clean, the stars at night and sunset on the ocean were stunning. Regina gave us so much information about surrounding areas, where to eat and buy things, the pancakes were great! We'd love to visit again in the future.

This property was a great private getaway with stunning views of the ocean and restaurants not far down the road.

Well, here's the conundrum: to tell the truth, or to keep this gem to ourselves... For the sake of the generous hosts - and for any travelers heading to Cape Breton - I choose the former. Simply put, this is an outstanding listing. Brand new (as of October 2019), the accommodations are extremely up-to-date and well-thought-out. The location is amazing, right on the sea. The view from the balcony really feels like you have your own private tower by the sea. And yet it is cozy and - above all - quiet. Sparkling clean, and solar-powered/eco-friendly. Christian and Regina were excellent hosts - welcoming us and then giving us the freedom to come and go in peace. I believe they live on the main floor. I cannot wait to see the improvements that they will continue to make to the wider property: landscaping, etc. It's exciting as they grow. One point to note: this is indeed a private apartment on the top floor of a beautiful home by the sea. But travelers should also know that the floor below holds a number of single bedrooms and a common kitchen and bath, presumably for through-hikers on the Cabot Trail. As a hiker, I would imagine this would be heaven. So, hikers take note! Can't imagine too many other places that would be better. Additionally, the layout is ideal for group retreats. However, for individual or partnered "silence junkies from the city" (such as ourselves) it MAY be possible for there to be other guests who could be noisy. There was nobody else renting during our entire stay, so I don't know if this would be an issue. Fortunately, I believe the hosts also live in the building, so presumably noise and disruption wouldn't be an issue for long. And the house is so well-built that the quality of the construction might eat most of the noise. Still, if you NEED absolute, retreat-style silence, you may want to check with the hosts about other bookings in the other rooms. My sense is that the general vibe will appeal to more low-key guests, but better to know ahead of time than not. Again, in short, an amazing place to stay. Can't wait to go back!

Very nice host and accomodation, beautiful place to be!

Very clean and modern living space. Christian and Regina were away at the time, but made sure we were well accommodated on arrival. Comfortable and quiet it made for a restful last night of our vacation.

The pictures don’t do it justice! This cabin is the cutest. Really modern rustic decor makes it super cozy. Hosts provided all kinds of extra perks like coffee, treats and really interesting books. There’s also games, cards and of course the kayaks. We spent a lot of time on the deck enjoying the view. Great hosts, great cabin and great stay.

A great cabin in a great location. Easy access from cabin to the Trans Canada 105. The cabin was warm and cosy, with a supremely comfortable bed and excellent shower. Jody is a wonderful host and made sure we had everything we needed. We would heartily recommend this cabin as a base for exploring Cape Breton

Such a relaxing place, we loved our stay. Great fun to be able to take the kayaks out for a quick paddle before sunset. Huge comfortable bed. Would definitely recommend, one of the best air bnbs we have stayed in!

September 10-13,2019 The Woodsy Cabin was everything we hoped it would be and more. The location was secluded, yet close enough to amenities (restaurants, etc.) and a great "jump off" point to begin our Cabot Trail adventure. The space itself is warm, comfortable and inviting and the bed....perfect. We were greeted with a lovely welcome note and pleasantly surprised with goodies of popcorn, chocolates and such. Super sweet and appreciated. To have popcorn by the campfire our first night, looking up at the star filled sky was pretty special. Jody and Parker provided everything needed in the event we planned on staying put i.e. utensils, hot plate, grill, coffee maker, etc. The home was clean, thoughtfully decorated and just a nice space to be in. We particularly appreciated the books by the bedside sharing the local history. It's those added touches that add up. The front deck is perfect for morning coffee or evening glass of wine even if bundled up in a blanket. And I would be remiss to not mention the kayaks!! We spent a morning kayaking to Seal Island bridge, past the lighthouse and back. It was serene; the water calm. I would recommend the Woodsy Cabin. Jody was very easy to communicate with and responded quickly to any question I had. Thank you, Jody & Parker for a memorable stay.

A beautiful cottage tucked away in the snow, overlooking the water. Such a peaceful and relaxing space. Plenty of room, beautiful view, clean and well maintained. A snow storm happened during our stay, no issues with heat or power loss - the area was plowed out promptly once the storm had stopped. Hosts were very easy to communicate with. An absolute lovely place to stay.

It was a nice place to visit. We could have the sea view and use the fire outside the house. Although there is no signal around the house, the house has free WiFi. The house will beyond your expectation.

Nelson was a wonderful host, we showed up late at night but he greeted us in the morning with a bark, took us on a beautiful guided snowshoe through the woods, toured us around the property, and sent us on our way all the way down the driveway! We especially loved the yoga hut that David and Denise have on their property, it is one of a kind.

This was our third or fourth time staying with David and Denise's family, but our first at their house. The space was great for a night; we used it as a jumping-off point for further adventures on Cape Breton.

So clean and cozy! Wonderful way to end the day!

Beautiful space!

Nice cottage in beautiful location. Worth for the money you're paying. My stay was memorable. Wifi, cable connection, dvds, telephone, washer and every thing you need in stay are there. If you are traveling in fall or winter, expect cold weather for a while, as the heating is off and it will take few hours to warm up the cottage.

Jeff's place was VERY clean. The heat pump in the living room was very useful as it was a bit cold in the morning. For people who visit Cabot Trail this place is ideal as the ferry terminal for the trail is literally across the road. Our 3 nights stay was so enjoyable and we made lots of great memories. Great location, sparkling clean. A very usable well equipped kitchen. Good bathroom. Comfortable living sofas. Bed was good too. We travel as nomad's these days and finding places to relax in isn't always easy on a budget. I felt I made no compromises in this cottage. This place was comfortable and embracing. Jeff’s cottage is very private with a lovely deck to listen to the ocean. There is everything you need to feel at home and I highly recommend it. Jeff was always very quick to answer any questions I had.

Rustic cottage with everything you need. Great view from bedroom/living room. You could easily stay 7 people all at once in the cottage comfortably. We were only 4, and there were 3 others bed in the house.

This home was absolutely gorgeous and spacious . A very well equipped kitchen with Keurig, electric kettle, coffee percolator, toaster, stove, two fridges, microwave and everything you could possibly need. Shampoo, conditioner, body wash provided. Can accommodate a large group as many sleeping options including 2 pull out couches as well as 4 bedrooms. Close to Baddeck for grocery store and liquor store. Host were quick in responding to inquiries. I highly recommend this home, it was just delightful. I would return in summer as the decks and outside areas are great for entertaining a big group of people.

Wow!! Great place and great location. Jennifer and Jan’s are fantastic hosts. We found the house to be spotless and very neat. The view out the picture window of the lake and mountains is fantastic. It is in the perfect location for exploring the Cabot Trail. I highly recommend it.

This is a great place to stay. Natural wood floors, three large bedrooms, well equipped kitchen, separate dining room and lounge. There is a good garden space (but we didn't have time to take advantage during our short stay)

Jennifer and Jans have a great spot in Englishtown. We enjoyed the stay and would recommend it to others. Lots of space for larger groups especially when using the guest house. The older home has been cared for well by Jennifer and Jans.

This place has super friendly staff, and is very clean, and cute my only complaint would be how expensive renting the hot tub it.

Cabot Shores was absolutely breathtaking and the staff are so friendly and welcoming! We arrived late and they waited up for us, greeted us with a smile, and helped us to our dome. I would absolutely recommend this stay to anyone. I hope I find myself on the Cabot Trail again one day so I can spend more time exploring Cabot Shores :)

An amazing find along the Cabot Trail! Would definitely recommend the Beaver Dome - you can see the water from the dome! One of the more private domes too. The evening bbq was a great touch and we loved being able to have a campfire on our site too. Would definitely recommend to anyone driving around the trail!

We had such an amazing time staying in the Beaver Dome at Cabot shores. The dome itself was really warm and comfortable. I slept like a log for our entire stay. We also had breakfast and dinner most days at the Bistro. It is definitely the best restaurant in the area and the food was delicious. The staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. They gave us excellent advice on places to visit and driving routes which really enhanced our experience. I would highly recommend and can’t wait to return for another stay.

We had the loveliest time at this place. The amenities were over and above what we were expecting and was a large space in a great location for exploring the Cabot Trail. Very homely with some great local info.

This was a super nice place to stay. There was a nice note waiting for us with some suggestions about what to do around the Cabot Trail, and the place had everything we needed to make meals and the few questions we had were answered right away. I highly recommend it!

We loved the Cabot Trail Home with a Country Flair! The place was nicely decorated and very comfortable. Calvin and Carole Lee made thoughtful notes, and even provided some food for us! We drove all around the area and it worked well to stay in this home.

Perfect spot to explore Cape Breton! This space is situated nicely along the Cabot Trail, making it a great base camp to travel throughout the island. The property is stunning; secluded, large yard, fireplace and all the amenities you could ever need. Donald and Brigitta were ideal hosts! Very helpful and willing to provide suggestions on the area (we travelled here on the offseason so finding open places was trickier than anticipated). They left thoughtful touches throughout the property that truly added to our stay. Stay here if you get the chance!

Ton went out of his way to cook for us even though it was off season and his restaurant was closed, provided snow removal so we woke up to a safe clear walkway and even lent us snow shoes for our hikes. Great place, great guy.

The cabins were cute and cozy (even in February), and Tom was very helpful with tips around the area!

This stay was absolutely lovely. The cabin was the perfect cozy size, and the location is great - right along the Cabot trail. Even in January, the cabin remained cozy - thanks to the space heater that was already turned on, having it nice and warm for when I arrived. Ton was great to show the space, and the washrooms which are a few feet away from the cabin. He also gave me some pointers about the area, which is always appreciated. We brought pizza & snacks from home, as there’s no kitchen appliances, but that was no problem as we were aware of this ahead of time. All & all, I have no complaints about the stay and would love to go back! Highly recommend the Zzz Moose! ☺️

Ton was the most welcoming host I have met, he greeted us at the door, walked us to our cabin and even lent us one of his frying pans. The cabin was cute and fit the 3 of us and 2 dogs perfectly. Even though it was snowing we were toasty warm all night. We even spent time in the evening on the deck cooking our food. And have to mention the beautiful beach and view. Then we had breakfast at the restaurant and I have to say, the best crepes I’ve ever had! A wonderful stay and will definitely be returning again.

This cottage had full amenities and an incredible location. Right beside the ocean with an incredible view and a quick drive to national parks this place was perfect for my husband, my dogs, and I to have a perfect nature get away.

Ton's place is in a great spot for exploring the Highlands Park. You can also walk 1 min to the shore and we saw a bunch of seals! The cabin has everything you need and is quiet...even with the cafe just up the hill. Great food there, BTW!

We had a great stay @ the Sleeping Moose. The location is wonderful, we could even see the sea from the cottage. Our favorite place was the (private) picknick table behind the cottage, very close to the sea. Ton is a very hospitable and enthousiastic host... he also makes great Dutch ‘pannenkoeken’ (pancakes) in his restaurant the Dancing Moose. It is a perfect place for a few relaxing days, after driving and hiking the Cabot Trail. The cottage is clean and has everything you need: good equipped kitchen, nice bed(s), good shower and bathroom, and fast WiFi. We recommend everyone to go there; we loved it!

Ton’s cottage was clean, comfortable, quiet, and private. The kitchen was well equipped, and we also took advantage of the great breakfast restaurant nearby. Ton was very friendly and met us upon arrival. He also shared some tips on nearby beaches. We enjoyed our stay, and the cabin was a great base for our explorations of the Cabot Trail.

Me and my boyfriend stayed here a few days for my birthday, Marlene was not only a very accommodating and understanding host, she added little touches to the house that made it extra special! The view and hot tub were the cherry on top and I will definitely be returning again to the spot!

Beds are comfortable. Netflix/Amazon Prime, jacuzzi, what else do you need??? Around the corner from the Cabot Trail. You will want to spend the whole time sitting out on that deck. Pictures don’t do it justice. Pics are great but actual cottage is amazing! Kitchen has everything you could ever need and fridge full of condiments for your use which is such a nice touch. Decorated perfectly, view is breathtaking and hummingbirds entertain as you have coffee on the deck. We can’t think Of one thing that Maureen did not have in the house for our family of 4. Hot tub outside and Milky Way visible is like national geographic! Great location for Cabot Trail and Cape Breton. Maureen communicated quick and check in was a breeze as we rolled in at 11pm on a very dark room. It is a magical cottage !

This is a beautiful cottage! Very well equipped, modern, clean and has beautiful views. Location is perfect for trips to Baddeck, Cabot Trail and Louisbourg. Marlene is very easy to communicate with and she provides everything you’ll need. This is a very private location, we so enjoyed the fire pit and star gazing. Mark was a phenomenal host; stopped by more than once to check in, say hello, ask if we had any questions or concerns and just chat! Wonderful and thoughtful touches around the cottage that we discovered throughout our time there. Location was a 10/10!! Large, beautiful yard atop lakeside where many fires were enjoyed. Close to lots of hiking trails, shops and quaint restaurants. Can’t speak highly enough about Mark, he even lent us a hiking guide book which we found very helpful and came by on our last evening to say a fair well. Thank you for everything!

We really enjoyed our stay at View of the Sea cottages. They had everything set up perfectly for us and it was all very clean and organized. There were lots of towels, dishes, glasses, and linens. The cottage had everything we needed including little touches like water bottles in the fridge and soap and shampoo in the bathroom. There was a BBQ outside and lots of tools provided for cooking outside or inside on the stove. We couldn't get over the beautiful view here, the picture don't do it justice! We were steps away from the water. We came at the off season so it was very cold but the cottage had a nice heating system and it made it nice and toasty in there for us. There was also satellite TV and we enjoyed watching and relaxing with some TV at the end of the day. Overall we had an awesome stay would definitely love to come back.

I couldn't be happier with my experience at view of the sea. Everything from the breathtaking scenery to the quaint, cozy cottage exceed my expectations. Our cottage was outfitted with everything we needed. The kitchen was very well equipped, we cooked multiple meals with ease; while the bathroom was stocked with complimentary toiletries as well as plenty of fresh linens. The bed was very comfortable, and although the cottage was warm and cozy, extra blankets and pillows were available just incase. Mark and Gina are excellent hosts, more than willing to provide anything we needed, always with a kind smile. I will most definitely return to view of the sea for another relaxing stay!

Mark and Gina were amazing hosts! We booked the cottages last minute for three nights and wished we had time to stay even longer. The cottages sit on a beautiful property with a private beach over looking gorgoues mountains. We woke every morning to see this view from the outside of our window. The cottage has a kitchen, TV, satellite, bathroom, small two person table and sofa. Outside is a porch and barbecue that we used as well. Down by the beach they have a fire pit which we used every night we were there. Mark and Gina were extremely kind people and made us feel very welcomed. They even gave us a lot of tips on the tourists attractions and local restaurants near by! If you rent from them you will not be sorry and for the price you can’t beat it! We live in New York City and plan on coming back again!

Nancy and Chris are lovely people i hade a great stay with them. They offered me food, we had some great talks about all kind of things. Also they told me a lot about the region, they are both very knowledgeable. Recommended!

Chris and Nancy’s home is a magical spot in North Sydney. Chris took in me, two cats and beagle for the night. The family poodle, Ray Charles, was friendly and enthusiastic to meet my dog, Starbucks. Chis was warm and hospitable and full of Cape Breton charm and fun. We had a great stay!

It's a great place to stay if you are coming first time to Sydney. Nancy is such a great person and lovely too and will help you with things you need to know when you are a first timer in the city. She cooks really well. People will definitely enjoy the stay in her home.

I stayed at Nancy's place for a single night while on my trip to Cabot Trail. Even though it was for just a single night, I did enjoy my stay. Nancy and Chris were really amazing hosts. Nancy welcomed me and offered Christmas dinner, as I am a vegetarian, I had some very nice veggies and a great cup of tea. I had a very good chat with both Nancy and Chris, and they guided me on the routes for my trip. I would definitely recommend the place for anyone who visits Sydney and plan to drive through Cabot Trail. The place was neat and cozy. Thank you Nancy and Chris for the great hospitality.

Top tier stay. You are seconds from the Bras D'or Lakes but tucked off the main road in seclusion so you hear no traffic. Wonderful to go for walks along the lake or watch sunsets. The firepit in the back yard is a great touch. Beds are comfortable. Quick responses. Wonderful personal touches. Will return.

Home from home and the most welcoming home we have been to for a long time. Our stay was excellent and there was nothing that was not available to us. From breakfast to kindling for the camp fire it was there. It is pet friendly but also immaculately clean. Pet friendliness is not used as an for poor cleaning. We are planning to return to this same home in the near future if the opportunity arises. It is quiet and private, we sat out during the evenings with no interruptions. You couldn’t even hear a car. Rabbits ran around us as we roasted marshmallows by the fire. Sobeys, superstore and Walmart are only 6 minutes away and a gas station is a stones throw away. Amazing.

I think it’s fair to say that this place surpassed our expectations (not that they were low). Great place, in a great location. Robyn was a great host who provided a bundle of information and recommendations and checked in to see how everything was going. Really happy with our stay and one of the best places we have stayed for the money. Probably the best host we have had too.

We had a great two night stay at Robyn’s place. Very quiet and private but not too far off the beaten path. The space is very bright, open and modern. It was extremely clean and comfortable and well equipped. We appreciated the breakfast supplies! Robyn was extremely helpful and responsive. Would be happy to stay at Robyn’s again in the future.

House was very nice and clean, pleasantly surprised at how nice the tv was and that Netflix was available. The only downside to our stay was being woken up by people entering the other half of the house, from downstairs it sounds like they’re entering the section of the house we were in. (Listing stated that we would have the entire house to our selves. Though they didn’t stay long.) All and all a nice place to stay.

Book this place!! Its great fun, stylish, clean, comfortable and super hosts!!!! A bit tucked away in the burbs but quiet and cosy.

George’s place was easy to get to. The key pad was easy to use to enter and the place was lovely! A few stairs to get onto the nice spacious patio into the unit and then a set of stairs to get from the kitchen/sitting room to the bedroom/TV/shower. It was perfect for a couple and there was lovely touches everywhere. We loved the bed - the linens and towels were so soft!! Made it hard to get out of bed in the morning. Wish we could’ve stayed longer, we will be looking to see if George’s place is available next time we go!

Cabot Shores is amazing! Paul and his wife Barbra are sooooo sweet and accommodating! We loved our time hanging out with the lodgie dogie, Cosmo and eating at the bistro buffet. The dome experience was so great, so was the hot tub. It was our honeymoon and they went above and beyond to provide sweet touches to make it feel special. Loved our time and would highly recommend!

Our one night stay at the blue Herron done was great! From the dome you can see both the ocean and the mountains. Highly recommend this unique stay!

Our stay was simply perfect! The site is really nice, with trees everywhere and the sea is also really close and accessible through a simple « self serve » ferry. Our dome was amazing, combining a beautiful view, intimacy and comfort. The road to get there was a bit risky, but you can leave your car at the entrance and simply walk to your dome. The dome also tends to become really hot in the day. If you leave for the day it is perfect since the temperature is perfectly fine at night. Paul and his wife welcomed us with their open arms! They also advised us on where to stop on the Cabot Trail and that had a great impact on our whole trip! Thanks again!

This is a really unique spot to stay while traveling the Cabot Trail. There are many amenities we did not get to enjoy (kayaking, meditation, etc), but we certainly enjoyed our time in the cedar hot tub! It was right on our deck. Such a lovely way to unwind after a long drive. Everyone working there was kind and helpful. We would highly recommend Cabotshores!

This place was perfect! We went in October when it was a little colder and we rented the hot tub for the night, which made it amazing. The dome had an amazing view from inside, where we could see the water and the stars, and when you step out of it there’s a panoramic view of the highlands. We went for a little walk around the property and down to the water front and it was so spectacular. The food was so delicious, even if you’re not staying the night it’s worth checking out the bistro. The staff was very pleasant, accommodating and helpful. Absolutely zero complaints! We plan on making this spot a yearly trip :)

Had a great one night stay here while driving the Cabot Trail over Thanksgiving week-end. Check in was very clear and easy, room was super clean and had everything we needed. We had no interaction with the hosts but didn’t require anything and had a great experience here!

One night at Christian's but we appreciate the newly built house! The welcome and recommendations was very good. The land is still under construction but access to the seaside is complete and really exceptional.

If you want to wake up with a moose strolling around: you have to spend time at Christian’s place! We stayed here for a week and on our last day we were rewarded by a moose doing a loop around the property. Apart from that: we had an amazing stay! Everything is brand new, the views never get old and Christian and Regina are amazing hosts. We got local tips and if you want, you can ask them for some authentic German bread. We explored Cape Breton having this place as our home base and that worked very well for us. If you need anything, you can just ask Christian. He knows the area very well and is always happy to help you out. By the way, he plays piano very well so every now and then you can enjoy some nice music :) we would love to stay here again, someday!

Christian's place is really unique, located on the oceanfront over a cliff with access to a private beach. It is a work in progress, but the house is well finished and very clean. The most amazing part is the location where you get amazing views of the Cabot Straits as well as walk on the untouched shoreline. Looking forward to further developments at Christian's property and will definitely stay there again.

Fantastic location. We were one of Christians first lodgers and the place is so nice- newly constructed and so clean. One issue we had was driving in The driveway, the road was a bit uneven so the car was hitting the bottom. Something to keep in mind if you don’t have a truck or SUV. We went down to be beach and it’s rather magical. Thanks again!

Off the beaten path, cozy and with wonderful hosts. I didn’t get to meet them in person, but they were incredibly helpful with tips of places nearby that may interest you to go, gave detailed instructions on how to get to their lovely wooden lodge, and we’re quick to respond with any issues. If you like staying in unique places, this is a MUST STOP! Also loved that you can book just one night here. If I’m ever in this part of Nova Scotia again, I’m for sure going to stay here again!
