Communication with the owner was simple and efficient, check-in was straightforward, the accommodation itself was fresh, stylish and excellent value for money. • We had a lovely stay in Froxfield, the accommodation was really nice and cosy with everything we needed, storage space was great too! Having your own private garden space is very helpful if you have a dog or want your own outdoor space, this was a huge bonus for us! It is very easy to find the airbnb with fantastic links into Petersfield as well as the surrounding bike trails and walking routes onto the South Downs. We highly recommend this place and it is perfect for anyone who likes to be outside.

This is a self contained flat built above our garage in the building that used to be the old coach house. Set in a quiet location on the northern edge of the South Downs National Park it is well placed for walking, National Trust, Jane Austen, HMS Victory, The Mary Rose, The Watercress line, Goodwood, Haslemere, Petworth, The Devil's Punchbowl and the lovely town of Petersfield. It can accommodate 2 comfortably and 4 using the bed settee , but this can be quite a squeeze.
This property is on the edge of the village of Liss which is on the main line railway to Waterloo or Portsmouth. Trains run hourly and it is a 10 minute walk to the station. Despite being near the village centre, with a small Tesco, a Boots and a great little café, it is very peaceful and within an easy of The Sussex Border Path, The Serpent Trail and other waymarked paths. The flat is self contained with its own entrance and has access to a small garden. It is perfect for two but could take up to four with use of the bed settee which can be folded during the day. It has a kitchen with washing machine, microwave, kettle, toaster, coffee maker, cooker, fridge and is heated with storage heaters. A tumble dryer can be used on request. There is a Smart TV, which works on FreeSat, offering the usual terrestrial channels as well as internet access providing catch up, Netflix (use your own account) and other internet channels. There is a strong WIFI signal as well as the possibility of an ethernet connection. There is a DVD player and a good selection of DVDs as well as books and some games. Our family use the space when they come and love it - you will be very comfortable and made very welcome. We do ask that guests park at the bottom of the drive rather than adjacent to the property as space is limited. The space is best used by two adults, but could accommodate two more with use of the bed settee or the option of mattresses on the floor for children. Please let me know if you will need the extra bedding for more than two people or indeed two people who wish to sleep separately.
The neighbourhood has all the advantages of village living, plus proximity to a main line station, but retains a country feel. It is within easy reach of many places of interest as well as stunning countryside and South Downs waymarked paths.
  • Lovely little place to stay. Hosts couldn't be more helpful.

    Richard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth is a very accommodating host. The space is lovely and comfortable and great as a couple retreat. The walk from Liss station is roughly 15 minutes if you’re a slow walker and there’s a Tesco express nearby too. Loved the decor and me and my Queen would recommend.

    Emmanuel2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Really well equipped. Loved it.

    William2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Very welcoming and very clean. Great space and host is brilliant x

    Queenie2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This a very comfortable self-contained flat with all the amenities you could wish for. The parking is on the road, about a minutes walk away, but I had no problems finding space. I was attending a course at Longmoor Barracks so had little opportunity to explore Liss and the surrounding area but it looked perfectly positioned for walks. It is an ideal base for anyone that does not want to stay on camp (or whose other half does not want to!).

    Ian2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely stay here! The place was spotless and had everything you needed for a nice weekend away. Ruth and Graham were thoughtful hosts and were on hand if we needed them. There was also a good range of suggestions for places to eat and places to go while we were there. Very quiet surroundings and gorgeous countryside! We would recommend and would stay here again!

    Kara2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Ruth's place was quiet and clean and perfect as a rest stop after a long day exploring. The flat had everything we could need.

Welcome to our Annexe. It is a modern, self-contained 2 storey accommodation with a modern fully fitted kitchen (and appliances), living area, gallery bedroom and ensuite. Built in 2013, the annexe is accessed via a private entrance. Free on street parking is available. The Annexe is located in a quiet residential close, approximately 1.1 miles from Petersfield High Street.
The internal layout is very simple but spacious (approximately 50 square metres of floor area). On the ground floor there is a living area with two comfortable leather sofas - ideal for relaxing in after a day out in the surrounding countryside. For those rainy evenings, there is a 40" TV and DVD player. We also have a small DVD collection, covering all tastes and genres. Over looking the rear garden is the kitchen area with breakfast bar. It is fitted with a 4 ring convection hob, oven and extractor unit. There is a small selection of saucepans for food preparation, along with a microwave and toaster. Cutlery and crockery is also provided along with complimentary tea and coffee. The kitchen has a fridge and washing machine; iron and board are also provided for your convenience. Upstairs you will find a roomy gallery bedroom with double bed. There are two built in cupboards for storage. Here you will find the ensuite with large walk-in shower, toilet and wash hand basin. We provide towels and toiletries but please remember to bring your own toothbrush! There is also a hairdryer.
Petersfield is a great place to live and visit, with so much to offer. It has recently been recognised by The Times newspaper as one of the best places to live in the UK (2018). We are perfectly situated to access one of Petersfield's greatest natural assets (see the map below). Less than half a mile away, The Heath offers 69 acres of open spaces and secluded wooded paths to explore along with a sizeable lake; depending on the time of year, boats can also be hired if you fancy getting out on the water. There is a fully accessable path circumnavigating the lake which makes for a perfect stroll on a summer's evening or at the weekend. Early mornings are best when the place is deserted and you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of nature at it's best. Petersfield has been a market town for over 800 years. A regular market is held in the town square every Wednesday and Saturday. There are monthly farmer's markets selling local produce on a Sunday and the occasional craft market throughout the year. The High Street is at the heart of the town with a variety of shops including a good selection of independent retailers. We also have a number of restaurants and bars, serving a variety of cultural delicacies from around the world. If you are attending a wedding at the Tithe Barn we are ideally located - less than 3 miles away (about 7 minutes) The town in located within the boundary of the South Downs National Park so you can be assured of some stunning scenery just a few miles out of town. The Queen Elizabeth National Park is only 5 miles away by car; at over 260m above sea level it is one of the highest points in the area, offering distant views of The Solent to the south and rural Hampshire to the north. There are a number of sporting facilities in the area. The nearest indoor swimming pool and gym is 500m away and there is an outdoor pool in the town centre (seasonal opening). There is also a 12 hole Pay and Play golf 1 mile away (club hire possible). If you are seeking more culture and heritage based activities then the area has much to offer. In the town there is the Flora Twort Art Gallery and the newly opened Petersfield Museum, based in the former police station. Within a 20-30 minute drive you will be able to visit Jane Austin's house in Chawton, Gilbert White's house in Selborne and the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum at Singleton. We are also close to the cathedral cities of Winchester and Chichester and the historic dockyards in Portsmouth.

  • We had a lovely stay here. This is how all AirBnBs should be - very comfortable, very clean and well equipped. The Annex has been thoughtfully and lovingly set up. We would not hesitate to stay here again if in the area.

  • This was our second stay at The Annexe as it's such a great place to stay and so convenient for visiting family in the area. Everything is sparkling clean and we loved the extra touches like basics in the store cupboard and an easy to operate TV. We'll definitely be back.

Conveniently located close to the picturesque market towns of Alresford, Petersfield, Alton and historic Winchester, it is an ideal base to both explore Hampshire and kick back and relax in luxury.
Rustic luxury is the barn’s style; whitewashed timber walls, heated oak floors, industrial iron Nkuku lighting and furniture sit comfortably alongside crisp White Company linen, feather duvets and generous sized pillows. Relax and restore after an action packed day with Neal’s Yard toiletries and fluffy towels. Comfort is key. Ideal for couples, friends and solo travellers alike with the option of a super king or twin beds. A Nespresso coffee machine, toaster, kettle and fridge are all on hand. Within easy reach are Jane Austen’s house at Chawton (4 miles), Gilbert White’s House (6 miles), The Grange Opera at Northington and National Trust property Hinton Ampner. The pretty Georgian market town of Alresford is worthy of a visit for it’s wealth of independent shops, restaurants and cafes, as well as the Watercress train line, but it really comes into it’s own during May’s Watercress Festival. Historic Winchester is 15 miles from the Barn, which not only boasts one of the largest cathedrals in Europe but museums, theatres, art house cinemas, a diverse choice of bars and restaurants and fantastic shopping. Easy access to the New Forest, the Chichester Coast (West Witterings, Hayling Island), Goodwood, means there’s no shortage of things to do. If you enjoy walking or mountain biking you can join the 100 mile ancient South Downs Way at West Meon, Old Winchester Hill and find more stunning walks along Hangers Way heading towards Petersfield. There is a footpath off the property over fields from which you can walk to the famous “Pub with no Name” in just under an hour. Queen Elizabeth Country Park offers white knuckle mountain biking trails for the adrenalin seekers.
  • 10/10 would stay again, little barn is lovely location spot on, guests very friendly and welcoming , little touches on the place and bringing us a cupcake makes all the differences , would wholeheartedly recommend staying here

    Danny2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, chic room, lovely green views, and such a big comfy bed - a plus for a light sleeper! Breakfast was tasty. We tried one of the nearby pub recommendations, Thomas Lord, and had a delicious meal.

    Vicky2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a quaint and stylish place! Would definitely recommend to anyone in the area or people who would like a quiet weekend away from London!

    Stephanie2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is a lovely spot. Great location. The barn is gorgeous and Emma and Sam’s attention to detail makes it just perfect. I’m going to miss the delicious breakfast spread, Sonos speakers and relaxing bath tomorrow in London... Thanks for a fab stay. Anna

    Anna2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend - clean, beautiful design, thoughtful touches like the delicious breakfast & local area info. Really enjoyed dinner at The Thomas Lord pub. Thank you for a perfect stay!

    Kunle2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is the most stylish and best value Air BnB I have stayed in. It was the perfect location to chill out and unwind for the night. Emma was so welcoming and was really flexible with us even letting us check in a tiny bit early. We completely had our own space and felt like we were in the middle of nowhere - just what we wanted! The barn was spotlessly clean, so beautifully finished and Emma left some delicious cakes and stuff for breakfast. The Neals Yard toiletries were gorgeous and a nice touch! For dinner we went to The Pub With No Name. Would recommend for hearty pub meals - we had the fish pie and lamb hot pot. Both hit the spot! Already thinking about when we might be able to escape for some children free time to the Barn again. Thanks so much Emma.

    Charlie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautifully presented, superbly comfortable and spotlessly clean little barn. Emma is a superb hostess who has furnished it wonderfully and has included lots of thoughtful little extras which you will enjoy. The breakfast provided was delicious and we can thoroughly recommend this without hesitation. We also had a lovely meal at The Thomas Lord pub which is well worth a visit too.

A beautiful cottage set in a picturesque, historic village yet with all the modern amenities you would want.
We hope you enjoy our warm and cosy, quintessentially English cottage. Although just off the main road, and so easily accessible, the cottage boasts a secluded feel immediately. Entering through the front conservatory, there's a small toilet and utility area with a fully usable washer/dryer. Then through to the kitchen and 3 further rooms - dining, living and conservatory. The dining room has a usable wood burner. Upstairs is a double bedroom, bathroom with separate bath and power shower, and 3 singles, all with wardrobe space. The property has central heating and double glazing throughout. In the living room there is a television and separate DVD player, and there is also free broadband. The property has some traffic noise during the day (being on a main road), which can be heard when windows & doors are open during the warm weather. But by late afternoon/evening this is minimal.
You are nestled in the beautiful village of Selborne, whose amenities include a pub serving delicious food, a coffee shop and a local convenience store. Gilbert White's house is also close by and worth a visit. This is classic Jane Austen country, with Jane's house located close by in Chawton. Chawton is another picturesque village with some lovely local amenities - be sure to check out Cassandra's Cup, a delicious tea room.
  • We had a wonderful stay in this cute cottage. It’s much bigger than it looks in the photos and is very comfortable. The kitchen has lots of plates and cups which is great. The cottage was also lovely and warm and had a good selection of games and dvds. It was very useful having the use of the travel cot and high chair. Sophie was a great host who answered all my questions quickly and also left some milk and biscuits for our arrival which was lovely and thoughtful. I would definitely stay again.

    Sadie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very comfortable cottage with great facilities . Lots of useful touches to the home - security lights in the garden (very useful for Winter - especially going out with the dogs early morning) Hooks, good lighting, decent cupboard space. House was clean & host really helpful with a few queries. Parking fine as well. Would come again

    Hannah2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint country cottage that is accessed by a quaint lane within a quaint village in the beautiful Hampshire countryside. Visiting in the depths of winter was not a problem as the cottage had great heating. We can imagine ourselves lounging in the conservatory if we had been visiting in the summer months. The kitchen is well equipped and the lounge is a cosy room with windows on three sides, so always receiving any sunshine. You will not be disappointed with the four bedrooms, perfect for our family of 5 when most accommodation only suits a family of 4. This place is ideal for an escape to the country, with beautiful country walks nearby and the almost adjoining rec grounds with playground. We will be back.

  • Thank you for the lovely stay! Really lovely and cosy cottage with plenty of nice country walks around. We stayed there for 2 nights with a toddler and a baby. The house is suitable for small children. The cottage is very well located walking distance from the local pub and tea room, as well as starting point for nice country walks. The “zig-zag walk” on a bright sunny day is beautiful. Sophie also has a folder in the house with plenty of ideas of things to do in the area.

    Charlotte2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • You can expect a very cosy cottage in a nice village. The host is very responsive and will help you sort any issues. Remember to go to the local pub and have a pint and a meal there.

  • Had a fabulous stay. I was working in Petersfield and the location for me was perfect. Close to the Railway station and a short walk to the town centre. The room was beautifully decorated with a great view of the garden (Which is magical at night), the bed was very comfortable and even a large bowl of fresh fruit (a nice touch!) to choose from as well as tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The en-suit is perfect, very clean and fresh. Good selection for breakfast, Perfect coffee and really enjoyed the fresh strawberries and blue berries with the muesli. Chris provided a super place to stay, he was very welcoming and communication throughout was excellent, the perfect Host.... You won't be disappointed!! No wonder he is always booked up. Highly recommended and hope to stay again in the future on my next visit to Petersfield. Thanks Chris

Our luxurious self-catering holiday cottages enjoy a peaceful setting on the owners working farm in the hamlet of Ramsdean, within the heart of the magnificent South Downs National Park. Hampshire really does offer some of the best walking country in England, and there are many pub’s to stop by and enjoy some local food, beer and wine! Hampshire has a rich history. Named ‘Jane Austin country’, you can visit many of the national trust properties that inspired her novels, and even visit the house where she wrote them. The historical Naval Port of Portsmouth (within 30 minutes drive) has many museums tracing our history from Henry the VIII’s Mary Rose to the modern Royal Navy. The medieval city of Winchester, which is home to King Arthurs round table is also just a short drive away. Whether you’re looking for solitude in beautiful hill country, interested in wildlife watching or interested in the history, our self-catering holiday cottages are perfectly situated for all these and more.

This wonderful building, started in the 60’s by Edward Barnsley, was finished more recently and remains in the family. Adjacent to the Barnsley workshops, which remain operational to this day. It stands in the grounds of The Bee House, where poet Edward Thomas wrote many of his poems. The garden falls straight into the South Downs Hangars, with direct access to fantastic woodland walks with spectacular views, whilst minimal light pollution makes the night skies perfect for star-gazing.
The Folly comprises of an open plan living and kitchen area. In the living room there is a sofa bed that can be used as a double if needed. The kitchen is fully equipped. The bedroom has a double bed. The wet room has a shower, sink and toilet.
The Folly sits in the garden of The Bee House. Surrounded by woods which are part of the South Downs. There are many great walks that can lead to many great pubs. Our closest being The Trooper followed by The Pub With No Name. Froxfield village is also known as Little Switzerland. We are the highest village in Hampshire. Some mornings you can wake up and be above the clouds! Everyone who has stayed at The Folly regardless of the weather have been mesmerised by the view.
  • Sharyn's place is beautiful - we loved being able to sit and look out across the stunning landscape regardless of the weather! The breakfast had a great selection of options, there were fresh flowers in the kitchen, the communication and check-in was smooth and the kitchen was well-equipped. Definitely recommend!

  • Had a great time staying at the folly for New Years. The space is comfortable and warm and only a 10 minute walk from the local pub. The view is lovely and plenty of walks nearby to enjoy. Sharyn has thought of everything to make the folly a relaxing escape.

    Charlotte2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular views, incredible hospitality and with everything you could ever need for a magical get away. The folly is top of our list after many years of staying in some really wonderful places on Airbnb. Sharyn went over and above to make our stay special. There is some thoughtful items in every corner and it was so nice to have local produce included so we didn’t need to bring food. Also I’m not sure if she will be annoyed at us for saying this but she arranged a surprise roast dinner all ready and left in the oven for our return after a walk. She offered to do this when my other half told her it was my birthday. What a nice smell to return to and the small detail of laying out the table, supplying a menu and choosing a super bottle of wine, all at a very reasonable rate. And yes let’s not forget dessert...wow !! A message to anyone considering this fantastic piece of heaven, do it !!Thank you so much for a perfect stay.

  • What an utterly stunning place. Views are even better than the photos. Great hospitality and lovely little extra touches. Pub within walking distance and entrance to the nature reserve at the end of the road. We'll definitely be back! Thanks Sharyn & Nick!

  • Amazing space and amazing views! Sharyn and her family made our stay really special for our anniversary and we can’t recommend this place more, we didn’t want to leave! We will definitely be coming back!

    Katherine2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very special place in a stunning location. Sharyn provided lots of extra touches to make a stay comfortable and interesting, such as binoculars, torches, local maps and guides, and mini Jaffa cakes! We hope to be able to return for a longer visit.

    Stephen2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • A unique setting and a very beautiful designed cabin. The Edward Barnsley furniture items are delightful. The whole place breathes style and comfort. Located near pretty Petersfield and a great starting point for hikes, such as in East Meon and Buriton. We enjoyed also the local pub Without a Name and good food and service in the Troopers Inn. Sorry we had to leave after three days... Sharyn made us feel totally at home by giving us exactly the privacy and assistance we needed.

  • We recommend Buddhika's place to stay unreservedly. We hugely enjoyed a longer stay there with our exceptionally welcoming hosts Buddhika and Dan who not only anticipated our every need, but throughout made us feel so at home and that nothing was too much trouble in making us comfortable. Great tips on local dining and places to visit! We also benefited greatly from a private covered driveway and entrance door leading onto a stylish large bedroom with excellent facilities, along with a stunning garden view. With their peaceful and welcoming home set amongst stunning countryside and villages and in being close to the market town of Petersfield we feel we found the the perfect place to stay with the best of hosts! Return is a must for us.

  • Denise was a fantastic host who made us feel exceptionally welcome in her own home. She was full of useful tips about places to visit and made sure coffee, tea or a much needed bacon and egg sandwich was on hand when needed. Her home is beautiful and comfortable with two of the most adorable dogs ever. Highly recommend!

  • Very clean and tidy house. Cosy room. Nice big garden. And situated in a very calm place though near to commodities. We were free to use everything. Denise is a pleasant and helpful lady who listened to our needs and even proposed to iron our clothes. We strongly recommend her to anyone looking for a stay in this area.

My place is a detached house with private driveway, close to South Downs National Park. We are 20 min drive from Portsmouth and the historic shipyard or 30 min drive from Winchester with its Cathedral and shopping, Guildford or Chichester and Goodwood. You’ll love my place because of it's homely and cosy. We are a friendly couple with loads of local knowledge and lots of ideas of where to eat, drink and visit. My place is good for couples, friends, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
Your room is on the ground flour with its own en suite shower, toilet and sink. There is plenty of space to hang your clothes and there is a dressing table for working at or doing your make up. The bathroom has a over mirror light with shaving socket both 110v and 240v. There is a radiator in the bedroom and towel rail in the bathroom both have there own controls for adjusting heat.
Liss is a small village with a few shops including a Tesco's Express, Boots and various independent shops. Petersfield is only 5 mins drive and is an old market town. It has a great selection of independent shops and a few chain stores. There is a weekly market on Wednesdays and Saturdays and a monthly Farmers Market on Sundays. Petersfield also hosts a variety of events throughout the year. There is a local pub within walking distance that offers home cooked food. Or if you are happy to jump in the car there are a huge choice of places to eat and drink. Very happy to recommend a few places. If you are in to walking, road biking or mountain biking we have direct access to some great trails. There is also a downhill mountain biking trail just down the road.
  • Fantastic little accomodation. Perfect for a short stopove. Lovely comfortable space with its own private en-suite. Hosts were very friendly and welcoming. Would thoroughly recommend.

Louisa's Cottage is a modern, family cottage, sleeping up to six people (although 4 of those people will share the upstairs bedroom) in two comfortable bedrooms. Louisa's Cottage is one of four holiday properties at our farm and was completed in March 2019. The property is at the end of a terrace of holiday houses, with its own private garden with patio area and wonderful view across a peaceful valley. Dogs are welcome at Louisa's Cottage.
Louisa's Cottage offers light and airy accommodation with an open plan kitchen/dining/sitting area, one ground floor bedroom, modern bathroom and a huge bedroom/playroom upstairs. After parking immediately outside your door, you will walk into a large corridor with space for stowing shoes and wellies, leading to a well equipped kitchen / dining / sitting room. This large room opens out through French windows onto your own private terrace and garden complete with garden tables and chairs. The kitchen is well equipped with the usual appliances of fridge, freezer, oven, hob, microwave and toaster. There is also a small washer/dryer in the property. A smart television offering apps such as Netflix will keep you entertained on those horrible rainy days and it goes without saying that guests have use of free Wifi. There is a great bedroom upstairs that children will love. Accessed by stairs from the sitting room, children will have their own space to create chaos and noise. There is a small double bed, one single bed and a single mattress on the floor. NOTE that whilst the property can accommodate 6 adults, it is better suited to a family with perhaps 3 adults and 3 children. There is no extra charge for use of a travel cot, stair gate and high chair as required. Please contact us for information and to discuss your requirements. We welcome guests who wish to stay for a minimum of two nights up to a maximum of one month. Please note, Stable Cottage, Rose Cottage, Louisa's Cottage and Edward's Cottage are situated on a working farm and next door to horse stables. Whilst the interior of the properties is beautiful, we would like to make it clear that, at present, the exterior is still a work in progress. This does not detract from the overall glorious setting. The property particulars may change without prior notice and the owners are not liable for any inaccuracies in the property's description on our website or through media/advertising sources. Any photographs are for illustrative purposes only. Things to note: The Cottages are set on a working small-holding therefore visitors can expect to see cows, dogs and horses during their stay with us. Please note that all four holiday properties are adjacent/joined to one-another. Each house has its own private patio and garden but the parking is shared. Due to the proximity to one-another and also to our farmhouse, you will be staying next door to children and animals (and sometimes noisy adults!). We are a laid-back farm which very much caters for families so if it is absolute peace and quiet you're after, you may want to look elsewhere!! Quiet hours at the farm are between 9pm and 9am and we ask that you keep noise to an absolute minimum during these times. Edward's Cottage and Louisa’s Cottage are a the ‘ends’ and Rose Cottage and Stable Cottage are in the middle. Due to our rural location, the wifi and mobile phone signal can sometimes be weak. Edward's Cottage in particular is affected when there is heavy rain/fog/mist. A car is absolutely essential if you wish to stay at Downlands Farm.
Our four holiday homes, Rose Cottage, Stable Cottage, Edward's Cottage and Louisa's Cottage are set in the heart of the beautiful Hampshire countryside with wonderful views across a peaceful valley. They are a rural haven for visitors but only 10 minutes from Petersfield, with fantastic road and rail connections for London and Portsmouth. The four holiday homes would suit large groups and families looking to holiday together. Please ask your host, Venetia, for more information. Our small working farm, Downlands Farm, on which the self-catering cottages are set, is just off a green-lane which leads to miles of footpaths, bridleways and on and off-road cycling. Pets are welcome at our holiday cottages, please enquire upon booking. There are three excellent pubs surrounding the farm, all within a half hour stroll or a 3 minute car journey. The quaint and bustling market town of Petersfield is a 10 minute drive from the farm and alongside the two local village shops, these all provide a perfect base for stocking up on essential items. The larger, cathedral cities of Chichester, Guildford, Portsmouth and Winchester are all equally 45 minutes away, offering great shopping and entertainment. We are so lucky to be within an hour’s drive from one of the premier Blue Flag beaches in the country, West Wittering. West Wittering is a beautiful place to visit, whatever the season, and can be enjoyed by all ages. Hayling Island, a shingle beach (with funfair for the children!) is half an hour from Downlands Farm.

  • A fantastic cottage, beautifully done out. Very relaxing, and lovely to see sheep in the field out the back, and we were lucky to see the horses being put in the stables one evening (thank you to the ladies who allowed us to pop in and see the horses). Thank you for our arrival gifts and for letting us have a late check out, which turned out was needed due to a flat tyre! Just a note for future guests, this farm and cottages is in the middle of the country, down very narrow country lanes, something I hadn't really taken into consideration when booking, not really suitable for our car, whoops!

The 'Garden House' is a lovely, self-contained, one bedroom studio in the grounds of our family home. Great views across the Milland valley and the South Downs. Very cosy and comfortable. Friendly hosts and a warm welcome.
Comfortable twin beds. Good quality linen and towels. Complimentary tea, coffee and herbal tea. En-suite bathroom with shower, basin and loo. The 'Garden House' also has double doors leading on to a balcony, with great views heading south, and a paved seating area with a table and chairs for sitting out and enjoying the view.
Rake is a lovely village on the West Sussex/Hampshire border. A few miles from Liphook (heading north) and Petersfield (heading south). There is a good pub in the village (which serves breakfast if booked in advance (and we are happy to do that for you)), which is a three minute walk away. We are within 30 minutes drive of Goodwood and Cowdray, and we have direct access onto the Serpentine Way though our beautiful woodland garden.
  • We had a great stay at Marks cabin. The view is incredible and the space is great for a couple of nights away. If you are like me and get up early the sunrise is not to be missed! There was a small problem with workmen near by in the morning but Mark was quick to address the problem which I am hugely great full for. Really looking forward to our next stay.

We provide a traditional BnB, in our beautiful self-contained annexe, with its own separate entrance, looking out onto our private landscaped garden, through which the Ashford Stream flows. We're in a quiet picturesque village, on the edge of the Petersfield Market town, great for the South Downs National Park. We are also within walking distance (~25 minutes) of the train station/town centre. Several excellent pubs in the village. And Bedales School, 8 mins, and Goodwood 30 mins drive.

Whether you are on your own, with a partner, or have up to 4 children, we can accommodate you. The annexe is a recently-constructed eco-build that has brought our Grade II-listed cottage into the 21st century. You will have your own entrance into a double height space with a mezzanine bedroom above. We provide an en-suite bathroom, in an African style, with a shower, basin and toilet. [Note that this isn't a long-drop!] SLEEPING Upstairs there are a double bed, and two single beds, with the option of a two more that are stored underneath. Downstairs, there is a double sofa bed. Downstairs, there is a large lounge with TV, WiFi, USB charging sockets, small kitchenette, and a grand piano! KITCHENETTE The kitchenette is small, not a full sized kitchen. It is equipped with two small fridges, microwave, toaster, kettle, halogen oven, small table top oven and hob, slow cooker, and induction hob with one ring. IMPORTANT: We provide equipment for simple meals, for up to four people, but please note that cooking for 6 guests might be a struggle due to the size of the appliances. Please get in contact, before you book, if you need to do this. FAMILY We even have a cupboard of toys and children's books, another cupboard of board games, many family friendly DVDs, and novels, and child play equipment in the garden. You look out on our own private, mature landscaped garden with it's own stream. It really is home from home. We provide all bedding, towels, and hand soap, but please bring your own toiletries.
Sheet is a quiet and picturesque village, which is a sought after location due to its proximity to Petersfield, Bedales School, and Goodwood. We are located in the beautiful countryside of the South Downs National Park, with horse riding, walking and cycling on your doorstep. Portsmouth is a half-hour drive away, with its historic dockyard, shopping at Gunwharf Quays, and ferries to France and the Isle of Wight.
  • We had a perfect stay in Maries apartment, great social space, very comfortable and amazing bread in the morning is a really lovely touch! Great local pub only a few minutes walk away and nice walk up Shoulder of Mutton Hill, apart from the mud.. Thanks Maire x

    Will2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay. I just needed a two-night stay in the area to catch up with friends and attend a lecture locally, in between doing so, I wanted somewhere peaceful and restful to stay. Marie's place was perfect for that. It poured with rain the entire day I was there but I was able to read a book and look out onto the beautiful garden from the sofa. The double bed I slept in was very comfortable. The things I especially loved about Marie's place were: 1) The African style shower with the remarkable comfortable pebble-base and the rain shower, which when it rains outside on the glass roof above, makes it seem like you are showering in the open but are still warm! 2) The underfloor heating in the shower room. 3) The freshly baked bread that Marie brings on your first morning!

  • Marie's place is a great, cool place to stay; it's got a relaxed vibe and has some lovely features (many of them linked to her time in South Africa). Its location is excellent - in a lovely village (with pub) and close to Petersfield, which has loads of lovely cafes and places to hang out. Hope to return.

    Sarah2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was a brief overnight trip during half term- originally we were hoping to see some stars as part of the South Downs dark skies - Marie went out of her way to discover local information about this before we had even confirmed our booking. The weather was cloudy but we decided we would have a mini break anyway and I am very glad we did. Luxurious stylish place to stay- very comfortable for 4 of us. Marie suggested The Queens Head for dinner which was fabulous- lovely old pub full of character- we should have booked even though it was 7pm on a Wednesday! Delicious pizzas, burgers, risotto served with a friendly welcome. And only a few minutes walk away. Breakfast was another highlight- what a treat to have a whole freshly baked loaf of bread. It feels like we’ve had a mini holiday- thank you very much

    Rachel2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful weekend in Marie's home. The decorations in the house is lovely, Marie and Angus are very kind to us. The bread provided for breakfast is delicious as well. Recommended.

  • Amazing place to stay in all aspects !

    Victoria2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Marie goes beyond the call of duty. There are lots of little notes around the rooms giving advice about the smallest of details. She really cares about your experience during the stay. We were welcomed on our second morning with a freshly baked loaf of homemade bread. Where else would we have been treated so thoughtfully. There is a small but very practical kitchen area which enabled us to cook and eat without going to restaurants. With a young baby this was very welcome. There are an abundance of toys that kept our little one amuzed which was just super. A truly wonderful host and a super space where you can come and go independently which is what we like.

    Stephen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely annex with all you could possibly need, from super comfy beds to an impressive DVD collection, a collection of eye masks to aid sleep and plenty of cosy blankets. We really enjoyed our stay and particularly enjoyed the fresh bread in the morning and getting to meet the beautiful dog! Thanks Marie 😁

Our home is located in a village between the pretty market towns of Alton & Petersfield in the South Downs National Park. It's a convenient location for guests attending weddings at Long Barn in Newton Valence and Old Thorns near Liphook and we are not far from the A3 too. The room best suits couples, solo and business travellers but all are welcome . We have a travel cot that can be added to the room and also a cot mattress that can be placed on the floor for little ones.
There are fantastic views from our house and a large garden for you to relax in.
The village is close to Gilbert White's House in Selborne and Jane Austen's home in Chawton. With the A3 close by, the house is only about half an hour's drive from Portsmouth, Midhurst, Chichester and Guildford. You can walk in open countryside directly from our house or go further afield to explore the South Downs Way or Gilbert White's famous Zig Zag path. You are welcome to use our garden with its quiet rural outlook.
  • It was a great English countryside experience, from local pub around, to Claire and Andy s brick house with beautiful flowers. Great hospitality, homemade bread, and so.many refine details.. If you re lucky, you can ask Claire to play English folk music....she s really good. Totally recommended to travelers looking for a "British" amd country style experience with nice sceneries around

    Jerome2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Claire and Andy are the ideal hosts. They are attentive, but never intrusive. I loved having an electric kettle in my room. Every detail was in place, and they regularly attended to my needs. Their home is spotlessly clean. I would definitely stay again.

Our cosy annex has been lovingly decorated with my favourite furniture and accessories. Centred around a wood burning stove, the annex is an open studio space with living, dining and sleeping areas within. It has a shower room, and separate toilet. This is the perfect country getaway for a couple or family...we are completely secluded and surrounded by stunning countryside. Nearby market town Petersfield is just 7 minutes drive, and 'the Hangers' is just 10 minutes walk from our door.
Our place is very peaceful and quiet, accessed by a long gravel drive behind big wooden gates. The annex is accessed by a staircase as it is on the first floor of a barn style building.
We are very lucky to have some amazing local pubs within walking distance, like the Queens Head in Sheet, the Harrow and the Cricketers in Steep. Steep Marsh is a small village with just a handful of residents.
  • The annex is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway to the country-side. It is a very tastefully presented flat with thoughtful touches such as shampoo/conditioner and tea. As the weather wasn’t great we spent most of our time relaxing by the fire watching a movie or two! We were very impressed with the check-in process including the pictures to aid self check in. The annex is a short drive from Peterfield or a 20min walk to Sheet (we would highly recommend the Queens head pub).

The Granary is a little, self-contained cottage attached to the main house but with its own entrance, deck and BBQ area. Opposite our organic, sourdough bakery and set amidst beautiful gardens (croquet, hens, sunken trampoline, huge oaks) with footpaths, cycle routes and lanes into the national park, it is quiet, cosy and special. Choose your breakfast loaf direct from the bakery to enjoy with all the other bountiful and delicious ingredients supplied for you in your own, well equipped kitchen.
Set in The National Park's beautiful agricultural countryside, we treasure our fresh, clean air, quiet days and silent nights (owls excepted) and love to share this with others. We take our environmental responsibilities seriously and can offer you free electric car charging - the electricity for The Granary, our on-site organic bakery and our home is supplied from renewable sources only. The central heating and hot water come from a reliable combination of ground source heat, solar thermal and wood-fired heating. You will be warm enough in winter but there's nothing that beats sitting beside a glowing, wood-burning stove ready for lighting when you arrive. And in summer, a cool drink beside the pond while watching the dragon-flies is a great treat. The Granary is perfect for two but many guests bring along a kid or two - so long as the little ones are happy on a sofa bed (bedding supplied). We can supply a travel cot for a baby. You are very welcome to bring along a well trained dog (we'll introduce yours to ours to ensure they're all friends) but remind you that we have free ranging hens in the garden and sheep in our fields, so if your dog needs to be kept on a lead, please do so. We will leave you in peace but you'll be able to track us down easily if you want any advice on local walks, on and off-road cycle routes, places to visits or pubs to go to.
  • The cottage is cosy and stylish, and the garden is large, with free range chickens roaming. Vickie is the most generous host, supplying wonderful home-made bread, honey and eggs.

    Elizabeth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic cottage! Loved the fireplace, amazing bread, and beautiful scenery.

    Ali2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie’s place was full of joy! Delicious bread, beautiful garden, super clean and a fantastic wood burner. We were only sad not to being staying longer.

    Susannah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Laundry Cottage is a wonderful place to stay. The food that is provided for breakfast is delicious, especially the free range eggs and the sourdough bread baked on site. We really appreciated all the generous little touches like fresh fruit, tea, coffee and milk. There is so much food provided for breakfast that we hardly needed to eat for the rest of the day! Beautiful walks straight out of the cottage, no need to drive anywhere. Such a cosy cottage with everything you could possibly need including plenty of wood for the fire. Vickie was a great host who was nearby if anything was required. Definitely recommend staying here - we will definitely return. Thank you

    Alex2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Vickie really is the perfect host - and the cottage is sweet, immaculate and has everything you need, from superfast wifi to freshly baked bread that Vickie bakes herself each morning. A beautiful countryside setting too, with dogs and chickens pottering about. The whole visit could not have been better.

    Robert2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Loved our stay at The Granary, the cottage was clean, warm and cosy, especially the log burner which went down well with the winter weather. The quality and quantity of the breakfast foods were excellent and the freshly made sourdough bread and eggs from onsite was a real gem. Vickie was very welcoming and flexible, great local information in the cottage too if you need ideas for visiting the area.

    Tom2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful place to escape the city! We had a great time at The Granary. Vickie is a great host - we felt it was home from home. Would definitely recommend. (Oh, and the bread 😍 a huge winner.)

In August 2006, Anna and Will introduced the UK's first Feather Down farm. Situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park, Manor Farm remains a tranquil oasis just an hour from London that many guests have returned to time and again for their Hampshire glamping farm holiday. Farming arable, cattle and sheep among a classic rolling landscape of copses and sunken lanes is even more of a pleasure now the family get to share it with so many happy people. You will relax in one of the extra luxurious Frills tents: either under a twinkling starscape in your own hot tub, or instead at a tent with its own en suite, depending on your booking selection. The tents are in the old farm orchard under trees or amongst hedgerows and are ideally spaced, each one offering privacy whilst also being well placed for groups. Some face into the orchard towards the lamb paddock, while others have views over Alton and the rolling countryside beyond. Each tent has its own campfire site for cooking hearty meals in the stew pot or toasting marshmallows, and there are plenty of places for foraging wood. A barbecue under the stars is not to be missed, for which the meat is often provided ' the marinated butterflied leg of lamb being a favourite. In September, the hedgerows are full of berries, guests having lots of fun foraging for food from the hedgerows & fields. Wandering off site, there are great local pubs within walking distance, including the Three Horseshoes 1 mile away in East Worldham who have always looked after our guests well. For those who love a dip, there's wild swimming at Frensham Ponds that is only 20 minutes away, or a fun paddle at West Wittering and Hayling Island on the coast, which you can reach within an hour. Please note: there is no electricity in this location

Betty is a converted 1960's Horse Lorry. She has been refurbished to a very high standard and provides the perfect accommodation for up to 2 people. Surrounded by countryside and boasting stunning views Betty is a great place to stay.
Betty houses a double bed above the cab, a kitchen area with all the essential kit, a fold down dining table and living area with futon, woodburner and TV. The bathroom is a short step across the deck and is home to a freestanding bath with shower, a loo and a basin. The underfloor heating keeps the bathroom cabin toasty all year round!
  • What a unique and fun stay! Would highly recommend for a couples retreat to the country

    Stephanie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, calming and perfect for a winter get away. Thank you. We will be back to experience the van in summer.

    Megan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay in a quirky place! Firstly, Betty is placed in a wonderful area so calming and private with lovely green views. There is everything you need, a fully working toilet, bath, stove, oven and hot tub! (Which I thoroughly recommend no matter what time of year) there is no WiFi but there is service so if you need your daily phone fix you’ll be fine, however part of the enjoyment is relaxing with no internet. The truck stays toasty warm with just a small fire, perfect for relaxing on the sofa with a glass of wine!! Didn’t manage to walk into east Meon due to weather/time of year but did drive and the walk looks gorgeous! Also fell in love with the little horses and runner ducks! I thoroughly recommend for anyone who needs a break from it all or who wants to fall in love with England again. Thank you so much for your stay, we’ll be back in summer to enjoy it all over again.

    Kasia2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Betty is the perfect retreat, very comfy, so well equipped for cooking your own food. Very cosy with the wood burner and we loved relaxing in the hot tub in such beautiful peaceful surroundings. Would highly recommend!

  • The most wonderful place to stay. Cosy, quirky, private and with an incredible view. Couldn't have asked for more from Betty. During our stay the weather was terrible and we were almost pleased for it, as it gave us theperfect excuse to just stay cosy in Betty with the fire on! A real gem.

    Lucinda2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved the hot tub, warm bathroom and unique idea of a converted horse lorry.

  • Lovely cosy place to stay. Catherine was very helpful. Great for walking on the Downs

    Diane2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely two night stay in Cathy's Airbnb- it was lovely and cosy with lots of space for two. The breakfasts with hot food options are a lovely touch, and the location is great for walks and the coast. We would definitely recommend this place to other travellers!

    Nikhita2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay here on a weekend getaway from London. Cathy is a brilliant hostess and made the whole stay so special with breakfast cooked fresh every morning, and a whole host of thoughtful touches from freshly made jams and cakes to toiletries, slippers, dressing gowns and even an umbrella for our rather wet stay! The barn is even better than the pictures with views right over the garden and fields and with no one below you, so completely peaceful too. We did lots of walking and had a wonderful meal at the Three Horseshoes in Elsted. If it’s a sunny day, don’t miss their beer garden and chickens! Overall one of our favourite Airbnb stays, we will definitely be back!

    Sarah2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful find. A quaint little retreat in the beautiful countryside, great amenities, Cathy's homemade brownies were simply divine and the granola was also next level. Highly recommend staying here, we had the most relaxing weekend away.

  • Wendy and Reg were the perfect hosts. We only had an overnight stay in Wendy's immaculate lodge but it was a comfortable and enjoyable 5 star stop over. The lodge is spotless and beautifully furnished. It's within easy walking distance of Petersfield so we ate in one of the excellent restaurants in the town. (La Piazzetta, highly recommended.) The breakfast was delicious! We would highly recommend Beaufort Lodge.

Charming isolated space overlooking garden and open farmland within South Down National Park. Double bed with space for travelling cot if have young family. En-suite toilet and shower with luxury products. Own lockable door with parking. Ideal for Goodwood, weddings at the Tythe Barn and Southdowns Manor, visits to Petersfield and Chichester, as well as walking the South Downs Way. We don't accept dogs but guests may come into contact with Nora our friendly dog so must be OK with dogs.
The garden is isolated and because the garden and house is on open farmland there is a feeling of space and calm. Country roads abound for walks and escape from city life.
We are in the Harting Downs and have lots of leaflets suggesting walks and places to visit in the cabin. We are ideally placed for walking the Harting Downs and South Down Way. The views from Harting Downs are amazing. Also Butser Hill, the highest point on the South Downs Way in Queen Elizabeth Country Park is a great place to walk and the Visitor centre is about 6 miles drive away. If you want to explore market towns Petersfield is charming Petersfield is about 10 mins away which is a lovely market town with lots of pubs, eateries and shops. You can walk there across the fields from our the cabin too. And of course Chichester with it's famous Cathedral is close by too. We have a great village pub in South Harting called The White Hart which is walkable (2 miles) along country roads although probably a cab back! There is also about half an hour down the A3, Portsmouth GunWharf Quays and there is a park and ride for that which makes it easier. GunWharf is a Designer outlet, lots of eateries on the Quay and also the great Spinnaker Tower.
  • Jo, Steve and Nora (the Tibetan Spaniel) were wonderfully welcoming hosts. The cabin was small but perfectly formed with everything you could wish for, for a cosy retreat. A lovely big, comfy bed overlooking open fields and big sky through one window and the pretty garden through the French windows. There were so many homely and thoughtful touches - biscuits, sweets (jelly babies were a hit), all types of tea and coffee, cereals, fresh yogurts, prepared fruit, bread, butter (cut into little cubes), a scented candle, CDs and DVDs, wifi & TV, table and chairs and dressing table, coffee machine, toaster and kettle, lots of information, books and magazines. There is nice modern bathroom with shower not bath. Everything was extremely clean. I literally didn't leave the cabin except for dog walks from the house for 3 days! It was so peaceful. Jo and Steve couldn't do enough for me and I felt very at home hibernating at the bottom of their garden! My old Labrador and me would definitely return for an escape from the big smoke! not forgetting the stunning countryside surrounding the handful of houses...breathtaking.

  • Couldn’t have asked for a better stay at Jo’s Cabin. The cabin was sparkling clean and the breakfast was perfect. The location is so serene and peaceful and yet only a 10 minute drive to lots of pubs and shops. These hosts go the extra mile, offering to drop us off to collect our car to in the rain. Their communication was excellent and they didn’t hesitate to answer any questions. We will definitely come and stay again - thank you!

    Ben2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jo's place exceeded all expectations. The coziest little hub you could possibly wish for, full of films, books, games and treats - there is nothing Jo has overlooked. Would recommend to anyone! ⭐

  • We stayed at Jo’s place for an anniversary getaway and it was the perfect place. It had absolutely everything we needed, lots of thoughtful touches, and Jo and Steve made us feel so welcome. Views were beautiful, even during a storm! We’ll be sure to visit again in the summer.

Close to historic market town of Petersfield, and within Southdowns National Park. On train line to London or the coast. Many good pubs and eatery's nearby. Twice weekly market. A clean and modern bungalow with relaxing garden area, and ample parking on our drive.
John and Fi enjoy socialising with our many friends in our bar HMS Cava Shack in the garden!. Come and relax in the evening sunshine. We look forward to welcoming new friends and hope you will enjoy our home. We endeavour to make your stay as comfortable as possible.
Our home is just 5 minutes walk from Petersfield Lake, which is a lovely walk. You can feed the ducks, or in the summer go out in a rowing boat or canoe. Most picturesque. The Plump Duck is a 5 star (trip advisor) cafe over looking the lake.
  • Very welcoming and helpful hosts in a home with very good facilities and excellent breakfast.

  • Always good to stay at John & Fiona's home. Great hosts.

    Peter2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Very clean and tidy place with welcoming hosts. Accommodation is a double bedroom on the ground floor with a toilet and shower next door, so this could suit people with mobility issues. Breakfast was self-service with a choice of cereals, a fruit salad, yogurt and toast - ample to set you up for the day. The hosts live on the premises so checking in and out was very easy. I don't have a car, but I think there is enough space on their drive for a car, alternatively you could park on the street. It's about a 30 minute walk into town where there are shops and restaurants. There is a small shop nearby.

The Turkey House is located on a working farm in the beautiful Hampshire countryside but just 5 minutes drive from the market town of Petersfield. Enjoy the warm farmhouse kitchen complete with AGA. You’ll love the rural location with walks from the front door (including to the famous Poet's Stone on Shoulder of Mutton Hill), the ambiance, and the outdoors space. Ideal for families, groups of up to 8 people, business travellers passing through, walkers and furry friends (dogs!) are very welcome!
The Turkey House is a self-contained semi-detached 3 bedroom house located under the beautiful Hampshire Hangers. The owners retain a flat at the back of the house along with their farm office but this has a completely separate entrance. The living accommodation comprises of a warm and welcoming beamed farmhouse kitchen with 4 oven AGA, combination oven/microwave, large fridge/freezer and coffee machine with a complimentary selection of capsules. The sitting room is again beamed with large feature fireplace (not in use), Smart TV and DVD player plus ample seating for guests. The large hall/dining area has oak table, chairs and a dresser. There is a good selection of games, books and DVDs. There is a downstairs WC. Upstairs is the spacious master bedroom with king size bed and an additional single bed. The second bedroom has twin beds and the third, a 4 ft 6 inch double bed. A travel cot for infants and high chair are available in the property if required. There is also a sofa bed downstairs in the sitting room which can be made up on request to accommodate an eighth guest. There is a newly tiled master bathroom upstairs with Victorian style roll top bath and handheld shower attachment (but no full shower). Whilst fenced with gateway out to drive, the fencing is not secure for determined dogs! There is parking for one car by the back door and further parking is available in the farmyard. There are fantastic walks available right from the door. Explore the Ashford Hangers, climb Shoulder of Mutton Hill to Edward Thomas's Poet's Stone and take in the amazing views over the Hampshire countryside. In springtime walk up to Jack's Meadow and enjoy the primrose display. Ashford Farm is a working farm and if you would like to look around and see our animals (or tractors!!) please do let us know and we will can show you around. We have fresh eggs laid daily by our flock of chickens and frozen meat available in our shop for purchase, including our own sausages and bacon. At certain times of year we have fresh produce available so, if interested, please do ask!
Steep is a charming village, located a couple of miles west of Petersfield. Situated under the beautiful Hampshire Hangers, the cottage is perfectly situated for walking and cycling. The Hanger's Way, Shipwrights' Way and South Down's Way are all nearby. Steep has 2 pubs - the renowned (spit and sawdust!) Harrow Inn with it's hearty ploughman's and pea and ham soup - and the Cricketers' Inn, a gastro pub with a pizza oven! We are blessed with many other country pubs around 5 minutes drive away - please do ask for recommendations. The nearby market town of Petersfield offers a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes and a library. Day trips out include Portsmouth with it's Historical Dockyard including HMS Victory, HMS Warrior and the Mary Rose, and Gunwharf, where there's a multitude of restaurants, bars, a cinema and bowling, and the Spinnaker Tower all overlooking the harbour. Also within an easy drive is Goodwood with its motor events - the Festival of Speed and Revival - and horseracing meetings including Glorious Goodwood. To the west is the cathedral city of Winchester and Jane Austen's house at Chawton. For the children there is Marwell Zoo and Peppa Pig World at Paulton's Park - about a 45 minute drive away.
  • Simon and Alexandra are very helpful welcoming hosts. The Turkey House is a really homely and comfortable place to stay, and set in beautiful countryside. Myself and my family have just returned from a wonderful stay there.

    Sue2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • This house is amazing , it is in such a pretty rural setting; tucked away, beautiful and peaceful but close enough to amenities and main routes. There is loads of space to relax, the kitchen and aga are excellent - especially for 8 guests. Alexandra has added lots of lovely thoughtful touches - especially for families, there is everything you need there and she is so helpful if you have any questions at all. The house was sparkling clean. We were sad to leave and wouldn't hesitate to go back there again. Thank you!

    Lucy2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The Turkey House is fantastically located at the foot of the Ashford Hangers. The house is well organized with good sized rooms and a great kitchen.

  • Alexandra's place was lovely and a great place to stay; we thoroughly enjoyed it!

    Sheyi2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful property with plenty of space for our family. Especially love the large kitchen with Aga. The house feels like it is in the middle of nowhere but it is in fact only 10mins from petersfield with plenty of good pubs and walking routes nearby. Definitely recommend going to the Harrow Inn to experience a traditional rural English pub with plenty of character and friendly staff.

    Giles2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Alex communicates very promptly. The Turkey House is so cosy with the aga, very well equipped and much more spacious than it looks. The walks from the door are well worth the effort for the views at the top. Boots or wellies are a must. The bath is a joy! Book your slot early if a large party, but there was always plenty of hot water. Comfy beds with lovely linen. We were a family of 8 plus 2 babies and there was plenty of room for us. The lanes are tiny and muddy in Oct but so picturesque! A great find!

    Rosie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely great place and good price for family outing . Specially kids will enjoy the farm area behind this house. Easy access for local shops and nearby attractions.

  • This Airbnb is brilliant for families. Our boys loved the big garden and wide open fields, sheep, cows, and friendly pheasant in the garden each day! There is a lot to explore right on the door step, and many lovely towns nearby. The house is excellent, spacious, cosy, and has everything you could need and more in the kitchen. Very well thought out. Thanks for a great stay!

  • A lovely long weekend with my family. A beautiful spot and a cozy cottage with underfloor heating which was welcome on the drizzly autumn Saturday! Communication efficient and easy check in. Just 10 mins into Petersfield which was handy (collected my husband off the train after work and Sunday we had a day out in Portsmouth). Great Parkrun at Queen Elizabeth Country Park really close too.

Please see www.relderton.co.uk/thewoodshed for detailed information.
  • Lovely off-grid barn in a really beautiful part of Hampshire. We did some great walks in the local hangars and came back to enjoy the fire of the lovely cosy barn

    Merope2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it. What an amazing location and place to get away from it all and unwind. Although under a 10 min drive to the excellent Hawkley Inn the Woodshed gives that feeling of rural isolation with the grounds of Home Farm. Great views, horses and sheep right outside your front door and fantastic walks all around you. Our 19 month old daughter loved the animals and farm and we are keen to visit again in the summer. The barn is immaculate and very comfortable and it’s eco credentials and Lou and Richards commitment to this is great. They were great hosts.

    Cliff2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely stunning location, augmented be really useful maps/walk routes etc. provided by the host. Location far more assessible than expected also

    Adam2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great place for a weekend getaway from London. It was clean inside and pretty outside. Great walks and local pub. Our four year old enjoyed looking at the sheep on the farm. Lou and Richard were really welcoming hosts.

    Robert2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fabulous stay at the Woodshed. It is a fabulous eco-friendly conversion in a great location. It is very peaceful and restful. We did a great walk from the Woodshed, a 4 mile loop up onto Noar Hill, absolutely beautiful. We also did another great walk from Steep. Despite its peaceful location it is also easy to get into Petersfield for food shops and places to eat. We also headed south and in only 30 minutes we were in Chichester. The cathedral, Pallant House Gallery and the Cass Sculpture Park (just north of Chichester) are all worth visiting. The wood burning stove was great, so cosy on the cold evenings and there was plenty of kindling and fire wood provided. Richard was a very welcoming host and we would love to stay again when the pool is open in the summer.

    Katy2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful autumnal weekend! The Woodshed is set in the beautiful rolling countryside of north Hampshire. Ideal for walks and getting away from it all. The place was modern, clean, comfortable and benefited from a log burner which made it extra cosy. A lovely country pub was only a 20 minute walk away. The hosts were friendly and helpful. We'd love to go back to this little haven in the spring for more walks and special family time.
