The Chapel Townhouse is a beautiful one bedroom townhouse, hidden in the heart of central Brighton, affording you the privacy of your own home with the romance, style and grandeur of the best luxury hotels. Described by guests as "absolutely spectacular", "too good to tell anyone about", "100 times better than a hotel", "the BEST place I have ever stayed in Brighton", "outrageously cool, perfectly located and really delivers the wow factor" and "seriously the best Airbnb I've ever stayed at".
A beautiful converted chapel dating back to 1876, the Chapel Townhouse is hidden along a private and picture perfect Victorian mews, accessible through private electric entry gates. Guests enter their own front door to find the grandest of staircases winding around an 8ft chandelier made from 300 antique crystal wine glasses, up to the Chapel Townhouse's studio room with a 15ft high ceiling, original stained glass windows, super-king sized bed, roll top bathtub and a second Victorian inspired chandelier made from black Lego bricks......................
Despite being in the bustling heart of central Brighton, the Chapel Townhouse is so private and secluded, you'll feel a million miles away from the outside world. Hidden along a private mews, just off Church Street in the very centre of the city, you will find the Chapel Townhouse directly opposite Brighton Dome and Corn Exchange and moments from Brighton's famous Pavilion Gardens estate and the Theatre Royal. The Chapel Townhouse is also in the midst of the famous lanes and North Laine areas, packed with the best independent boutiques, restaurants and coffee shops. Brighton pier and seafront is half a mile away and we're walking distance from both Kemptown and Hove. You really couldn't wish for a better location.

TV, towels, robes, hairdryer, WiFi, tea & coffee facilities Stunning private sitting room with amazing sea views, sofa, TV & fridge. Huge roof terrace + the only frontline HOT TUB in Brighton Perfectly located just 10 minutes to Palace Pier, the world famous Lanes & The Royal Pavilion
(If you are coming by car we have access to a guaranteed off road parking space that’s 90 seconds from our front door. Please check availability at the time of booking as parking in Brighton is at a premium throughout the year) The perfect escape for discerning guests. Extraordinary. Breathtaking. Private. Captivating. Beguiling. Exclusive. Relaxing. Revitalising. Value. All words used by our guests to describe their experience. Come and stay and add to the list. Try to come for two or more nights if you can. Every guest who stays for one night wishes they had stayed longer. It really is that special. So much so that many guests who originally came for one night come back for two nights or more. Staying with us is expensive. We know that. That said you’ll be staying in a guest suite in a £2m+ penthouse, not an impersonal hotel. Many of our regular guests were devotees of The Grand or The Hilton until they found us. If you want something totally unique, even by Brighton standards, the penthouse really is the perfect place to make you feel very special and totally privileged in a way that will leave you relaxed and reinvigorated with the desire to return time and time again. Whilst we are here during your stay think of us as your neighbours. We’re there if you need us. You’ll even have your own private front door into the penthouse. The Airbnb space is so private we often don’t get to meet our guests if we don’t do the check in personally. What you will find when you arrive at the Penthouse is a gem, a one off, a totally unique space with facilities unlike anything else you can find anywhere in Brighton and Hove. Sitting in the hot tub looking straight out to sea and sipping a chilled drink whilst being gently massaged by the various jets quite simply does something to your soul. Please take a moment to read the kind and generous reviews. When you sit in the hot tub or on the roof terrace looking out to sea or up at the stars with the reflection in the sea from the lights of the pier you will appreciate that you are somewhere very, very special. You may have seen our penthouse on TV as it was featured on Sarah Beeny's Property Ladder. The penthouse has also been featured in Real Homes magazine. Location, location, location. Ours is simply the best. Wait until you see the views. You’ll agree. Apart from affording you unlimited* use of the only frontline, sea view, hot tub in all of Brighton and Hove you also get the following... A comfortable, stylish and generous double room with a king size bed enjoying an ensuite wet room with a fabulous waterfall shower. We provide huge bath towels, a hand towel, bath mat and fresh robes. The bedroom also has a TV with Freeview. There is a hairdryer, hanging space in a lovely period wardrobe with a full length mirror, an iron and ironing board and plenty of drawer space. There is a razor point plug and a plug for USB charging cables. There are also tea and coffee making facilities. Whilst the room is centrally heated there is a fan heater so you can always have the room at the temperature that best suits you. The main lights are on a dimmer switch to enable you to set the mood to your preference. There are also bedside lamps. You will also enjoy a private rooftop sitting room** housed in a 'glass box' with direct, breathtaking, unparalleled sea views. This room has a TV, a fridge to chill your drinks for the hot tub a Lavazza espresso machine, complimentary still mineral water and a comfortable sofa where you can relax, unwind and marvel at the astonishing panoramic sea views. The lights on this room are also on a dimmer switch to enable you to set the mood. There are 'love' blankets if you wish to snuggle up on the sofa. This room leads to the stunning roof terrace with quite simply the best sea views in all of Brighton. Glance to your right and you'll see Brighton's Palace Pier, beyond it the remains of West Pier and in the far distance Worthing and on a clear day the Isle of White. Glance to the left and you'll see Brighton marina, the largest man made marina in Europe. The roof terrace has a table and chairs so given good weather you can sit and relax with a drink or a morning coffee and simply marvel at the ever changing views. You will have unlimited use of the roof top hot tub***which also boasts direct, uninterrupted, sea views. The hot tub has 100 jets, lights and Bluetooth so you can enjoy your favourite music whilst you relax and unwind. Relaxing in the hot tub with the sea and Brighton Palace Pier as the backdrop has to be experienced to be believed. We will explain how to use the hot tub. Swimwear must be worn in the hot tub at all times. If you have long hair we ask that you kindly tie it back. It important to shower BEFORE and after using the tub. We do not provide breakfast. You are spoilt for choice with all the excellent local cafes and restaurants. We will gladly recommend our favourites. As an example, the highly regarded Corner Cafe serves breakfast/brunch/lunch from 8.30am and is a three minute walk away so you can have a lie in and never miss breakfast. Their coffee is lovely and they are always happy to amend their menu to suit you. Needless to say you are not obliged to go to there. It is however my absolute favourite cafe in Brighton. Whilst we cannot guarantee the weather we can say that we were in the hot tub on Christmas Day last year...Don't think of Brighton as only a summer destination. The winter sunsets are outstanding and the starling murmuration over Palace Pier is a wonderful sight to behold. Your rooms are entirely independent of our living space so you will never feel that you are intruding in someone else's space. Our airbnb rooms are only used for guests. You’ll never feel as if you’re in someone else’s home. Think of it as your own. In essence you will have a duplex penthouse with bedroom, ensuite, sitting room, roof terrace**and hot tub. There is no access to a kitchen but there is a fridge to chill drinks and ample tea and coffee facilities including an espresso machine. You’ll also have complimentary mineral water. The penthouse is WiFi enabled. *The hot tub can be used between the hours of 09.00am and 11.00pm **Access to the roof terrace is via the glass roof terrace sitting room. We may therefore need to go through this room for access to the terrace to service the hot tub. If that is the case we will always warn you that we need access. ***If you have a fake tan you cannot use the hot tub. We respectfully ask that you do not book our penthouse in the hope of using the hot tub if you have a fake tan as we will have to refuse you permission to do so and we will not offer a refund. This is simply to ensure the hot tub is available for the next guests. Fake tan discolours the water. We simply want every guest to have an exemplary experience. We will do everything possible to make sure you do. We very much look forward to welcoming you.
Our extraordinary penthouse, which featured on Sarah Beeny's Property Ladder, is located on Kemp Town's historic seafront spanning three traditional, frontline Regency townhouses. Location is critical when booking accommodation. Our location is unparalleled. The restaurants and bars of St. James and Kemp Town are within a five minute walk and offer a diverse choice to suit all tastes and budgets. We are happy to offer recommendations. It is a ten minute walk to Brighton Pier, Brighton's Royal Pavilion, the world famous Lanes and the North Laine area which is packed with over 600 independent retailers selling everything from antiques to vegetarian shoes. We have access to a guaranteed off street parking space that’s 90 seconds from our front door subject to availability and payment. Please enquire. We are located approximately ten minutes by taxi (around £8) from the main train station.
  • Couldn’t recommend any higher. Beautiful self contained penthouse with hot tub overlooking beautiful Brighton beach and pier. Communication in a very difficult time in the build up was superb with all queries answered immediately. Apartment was spotless and made for a perfect weekend away.

  • Dean is a super host!!! He’s so quick to reply, easy to communicate with, friendly and overall goes above and beyond to make sure you feel at home. The penthouse is lovely- it’s a nice break away from our busy city life and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. We will definitely be going back

    Nesrine2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was great about Deans place, Keeley was extremely helpful and welcoming when we arrived and the place itself exceeded our expectations

    Jack2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic apartment. The hot tub and view are amazing. Definitely would visit again.

    James2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Dean’s for my 50th birthday What can I say fantastic views, fabulous apartment and the hot tub was the icing on the cake. Will certainly recommend to anyone wanting a special night away. The only disappointment was having to leave!! Thanks again Dean

    Wayne2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very warm hospitality from Dean, made us both feel exceedingly welcome. We hope to return soon. The only thing that could have been improved was the weather, but it was February after all! Spectacular views from the roof terrace. Close to town and perfect for exploring Brighton. Additional car parking also extremely convenient. A highly rated stay :)

    Rob2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed our stay, highly recommend Dean’s place for anyone looking for nice getaway. No matter the weather you can still enjoy the amazing view and the cozy hot tub. Can’t wait to come back!

    Nhung2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you very much Dean! I treated my mum for her 60th birthday, we both had such a fantastic time! The views are just stunning, even with cloudy skies and a strong wind, this was just a superb experience. The hot tub was an added bonus to the beautiful setting. We enjoyed it with a bottle of Moët (in plastic flutes) and oh my what special memories we have taken with us. I knew what to expect in terms of the lack of kitchen as I’d read the description/ rules and reviews. It’s a lot of money, but totally worth it! I’ll be going again later in the year with my partner. Thank you so much!

Brighton is considered very bohemian and boasts a very diverse community with large student population and vibrant gay scene. Throughout the summer the city is buzzing and there are many famous events such as the Brighton comedy, fringe, music and food festivals and the Pride event in August. Brighton also has some of the best street art in the counrty and you'll find a few original Banky's dotted about. We are also just a 55 minutes train ride from London so it perfect if you are planning on visting London for the day. The city has many exciting attractions such as the Pavilion, Galleries, Museums, Theatres, Comedy Clubs, Nightlife, Restaurants and so much more. If you like shopping Brighton is also famous for the Lanes which has many boutiques style shops, cafes and restaurants where you will see many of the diverse mix of Brighton people hanging out and soaking up the unique atmosphere. Every year the city is growing and becoming more popular with so many things to do. There are also the beautiful Downs and country parks which are within sight of the apartment and are great for a hike or long walks to a pub lunch or cream tea. The local community has a Sainbury's supermarket 5 mins walk away, great fish and chip shop at the end of the street and a choice of local shops for take away, breakfast, coffee and a barbers and beauty salon too!
  • Lovely stay and a beautiful house. Great hospitality.

    Aoife2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Peter and Seb’s place leaves nothing wanted for. I stayed in two of their rooms and each of the rooms was not only decorated like it was out of a magazine but very comfortable and practical- lots of gorgeous mood lighting and foam mattresses. The house itself is also very peaceful and quiet, thanks to both notes reminding guests of noise levels and gentle rules in place helping achieve this. Communication was a breeze- they were always there to answer questions. I loved my stay here and hope to be able to return. Book immediately if you’re questioning it!

    Bizzie2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Such a special place. As a single female traveller I felt safe and at home in this very comfy house. The special touches are fantastic, nothing is forgotten. Amazing value for money, I will be back.

  • We had a lovely stay at Number 34! We stayed in the copper room downstairs which was super cosy and private. The interiors in the whole house are beautiful though, and you notice more and more little touches as you walk around! We spent time with the cats who were super friendly and playful, especially Cilla. Oh, and the home made crumpets and jams/peanut butter in the morning were delicious! Would definitely recommend if you want somwhere quiet and homely to stay for the weekend!

    Francesca2020-03-08T00:00:00Z

  • We stayed in the Copper Room, cosy but had everything we needed. Loved the house and all the little design touches. The bathrooms were clean and equipped and the kitchen and food were lovely. We enjoyed the fresh orange juicer!

This bright and contemporary double room (including continental breakfast) with digital TV and free WIFI, is located on a quiet street in the popular Kemptown area of Brighton. Just 2 minutes walk to the beach, close to shops, bars and restaurants.
.....To get you in the seaside mood I offer a quiet beach themed double room, on the ground floor of an Edwardian building very close to Brighton seafront. My aim is to provide all my guests with a clean, comfortable and reasonably priced place to stay in a fantastic location, to use as a base to explore wonderful and exciting Brighton. A continental breakfast of croissants, yoghurt, cereals, orange juice and tea and coffee is included in the price of your room. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a toaster within your room. Please let me know if you are vegan or gluten free as alternatives can always be provided. In the room there is a flat screen digital TV, free fast broadband Wifi connection, a fridge and there is a hairdryer in the bedside cabinet. This room is a good size so it can accommodate up to 2 people comfortably, also there is a wardrobe so there is more than enough storage space. As you can see from the photos there is a dining table where you will be able to sit and enjoy your continental breakfast. Next to the room there is a clean and contemporary bathroom with a shower. All towels and bed linen are provided, should you require them there are laundry facilities and use of an iron and ironing board. The apartment is located on a very quiet, friendly street just 15 minutes bus ride from Brighton station. Take the number 27 bus (approx £2.40) towards Saltdean from Brighton Station, bus stop B. Get off the bus at the Burlington street bus stop on the seafront at the bottom of my street (Burlington street) The beach is only 2 minutes walk away. If you are coming by car please see the 'getting around' section, this will explain how the parking near to my place works. The city centre and the popular Lanes area are only 15 minutes walk. Here you can find the cosmopolitan cafe culture or browse the quirky and colourful independent shops and boutiques that make Brighton famous. This area is also where you can find Brighton's best known landmark, 'The Royal Pavilion', here you can also find many theatres, bars, restaurants and other places of interest to visit. Brighton's world famous Pier is 10 minutes walk along the seafront, here you can enjoy roller coaster rides and all the fun of the fair. If you go in the other direction along the seafront, about 20 minutes walk or 5 a minute bus ride you can find Brighton Marina. This is a great place to visit as here there is a lot to do and see. Why not take a drink in one of the bars and restaurants on the board walk overlooking the harbour and yachts? There is also a Casino, a Cinema and a Ten Pin Bowling and Kiddies Games Complex. Every Sunday morning there is a car boot sale, so there is definitely something for everybody. I look forward to welcoming you to Brighton, Gary
....I love living in the Kemptown area of Brighton as it has a village feeling. There are many coffee shops, traditional English Pubs (where you can enjoy a lovely Sunday Roast Dinner), restaurants, antique and other independent shops. It is only a 2 minute walk to the beach and the city centre is just 15 minutes walk away.
  • We had a mix-up with our dates and Gary was nice enough to extend our date to the new one for no extra cost. His location was walking distance to all the hot spots in Brighton. His place was very clean, had all the amenities and he even provided croissants, bread, cereal and orange juice for breakfast. There were more than enough pillows and towels, a tv and a memory foam bed. More than most Airbnb hosts offer! He also replied promptly and had many brochures with local places to visit.

    Alexandra2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and quaint place in Brighton. Perfect for a little get away to the coast! I would highly recommend staying with Gary and his extraordinary service and warm hospitality he provided.

    Veronika2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely time staying at Gary's place in Brighton! The room was clean and cute, with a small breakfast table and all the breakfast amenities (toaster, milk, juice, coffee, sugar, plus some continental breakfast items to prepare in room). There's a TV with cable, an adjustable heater, an iron (and board) and a small fridge. The bed was comfy, and big enough for two! Gary is a great host and was very welcoming. He took the time to walk us through everything we could need, plus gave us some tips for exploring the town. Gary is a seasoned host and has taken everything into consideration. We'd be happy to stay with Gary again :)

    Cayley2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Gary responded very quickly and greeted us upon arrival. The flat is very well laid out and clear instructions around so you know what to do. The bed was very comfortable. The shower was good. A nice gesture with a continental breakfast, was well stocked up in the fridge. Overall a very comfortable stay and will be back.

    Harry2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable room, only 2 minutes walk from the beach. The room is quite central, although located in a quiet neighbourhood with. good amount of bars, restaurants, pubs only 5 minutes walk. The room and bathroom were clean, and the added breakfast was much appreciated. I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Brighton.

  • Gary is a lovely person, he helped us a lot. The room was very clean and the common spaces too. The breakfast is very good. If I returned to Brighton I would repeat without a doubt.

  • The room was very clean, the location so convenient to reach the beautiful beach. Gary explained everything well so that I could use them comfortably without questions. Also, Gary was absolutely nice guy as he took me to fun places in Brighton in person and we've had an enjoyable conversation over some beers in pubs.

  • Absolutely loved this apartment. Everything was so easy. Seb was really helpful sending over all the necessary information which made our stay really comfortable. slept so well as the apartment it is quiet being set back away from the street. Having a private gated car park was reassuring to my partner as she's very protective of her car and we know how difficult parking is in Brighton so we were very grateful for the space. The apartment is styled really nicely and there's plenty of space and homely touches. We'll definitely come here next time! PLUS 5stars!

It is about 20 minutes walk to the best parts of Brighton and it is easy to walk to the North Laine area with independent cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants. This elegant self-contained Edwardian wing of the main house is particularly suitable for families. It features a large fireplace with wood-burning stove, large comfortable sofas and a private garden. The accommodation includes a double bedroom featuring 2 beds together which can be pulled apart, a double let-down bed in a corner of the large living room and 2 single divans to one side of the dining area. Perfectly situated for events at Charleston, Glyndebourne, Firle, Lewes & Eastbourne, as well as the Seven Sisters, the Downs & the sea. All linen, towels and cleaning are included.
Pekes Wing is part of our 'Distinctly Different' Pekes private estate, centred on its ancient Tudor Manor House, and including other picturesque buildings like the old double-Oast House. Guests in the Wing can enjoy facilities such as the heated indoor Swimming Pool and Tennis Court, and stroll around and enjoy the extensive gardens and parkland. The Pekes estate, well away from any road, is set deeply into the very quiet and peaceful Sussex Weald farm lands (organic - no sprays), and has beautiful views across ancient unspoiled countryside. Beyond that there is the stunning coastline, the seaside towns, historic places like Battle and great houses and gardens. For children there are two nearby exciting adventure venues, as well as farms to visit, etc. East Sussex has great charm, and Pekes is very much part of that. The Wing adjoins but is separate from the Manor house; if both houses are taken the connecting door can be opened. It is very peaceful and snug, and has a charming 'column garden' to sit out in.
The immediate neighborhood of Pekes is the Sussex Weald with its numerous footpaths and lanes running through ancient farmland and many little woods. Just a few miles away is the South Downs National Park, incorporating the stunning Seven Sisters chalk cliffs, wonderful sheep-grazed downland, lovely natural beaches, charming villages and some lovely houses - all of which has inspired artists and writers for nearly 200 years. The seaside towns of Eastbourne and Brighton are not far off, and it's a short drive to historic Battle, and the fateful events of 1066.
  • Our weekend at The Pekes was exactly what we were after, a relaxing and peaceful escape in beautiful surroundings. Kildare was a great host and went out of his way to ensure everything was spot on during our stay.

    Chris2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodation, great country house, nice and helpful landlords.

    Kai2019-08-16T00:00:00Z
  • It was an incredible vacation, thanks to the warm and kind welcome of Kildare and the wonderful house we've stayed in. Everything was prepared perfectly well, we enjoyed fireplace each evening, visite a lot of nearby cities and places, the atmosphere in the house was exciting as huge history felt in each piece of it.

    Alla2019-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Guests can expect a wonderfully unique experience. All the properties at Pekes Manor are better "in person" than the photos might lead you to believe. The setting is what makes the stay so enjoyable. Rolling fields, and perfect tranquility. Our wedding guests stayed in all of the properties and loved their experiences. All amenities were as described, and Kildare and his team were a joy to work with. Overall, an incredible experience.

    Simon2018-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • Having just returned from a weekend with a couple of girls friends in The Wing we are in awe of what a fabulous place Pekes is. The perfect place to unwind and get away from it all, leaving the stresses of family life and work behind. We loved the fabulous architecture, period furniture and artefacts that filled our home-from-home. As we sat in the hot-tub and then swam in the pool surrounded by lush foliage and mosaics we had to keep pinching ourselves to check it was real. Next time we'll be sure to make use of the sauna too. The Wing contained everything we needed for the weekend - milk was in the fridge on arrival and there were enough logs in basket to enable us to have a roaring fire on the first night. Kildare checked in on us the next morning to see if everything was alright and brought us more logs for a reasonable cost. Pekes really is a hidden gem of a place. We promise to return as soon as the opportunity arises.

    Jane2018-03-25T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous and different, set in a beautiful location. Couldn't have asked for more.

    Helen2018-01-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our family really enjoyed the week we spent in the Wing at Pekes. It was very spacious for the five of us. It was a bit cold, but we turned the heating up and the beds and duves were very warm and comfy so we weren’t cold at night at all. The kids loved the heated pool. The location was perfect for us, quick drive away from the seaside. Also we went for walks in the local area and had very nice Sunday lunch in the local pub, The Gun . We had a great holiday all together.

    Niina2017-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Pekes is a gem of a place in the Sussex countryside, and the grounds are absolutely beautiful, especially the swimming pool nestled inside a magical greenhouse. We had some confusion with guests staying in the main house next door to the Wing, which wasn't great, but Kildare and his team were very responsive, and his staff even gave us a lift to the station the following morning rather than letting us book a taxi. The team was keen to know that we were comfortable and happy, and that makes us want to return.

  • I've been living in this perfect apartment for six weeks, and I can't find the words to express how well I've felt. The apartment has absolutely everything that you need (and more), the heating is fantastic, everything is new and it's spotlessly clean. There's no single thing I can complain about. Caroline and her husband are fantastic, they've made me feel really at home. I'm looking forward to being here again.

The Shepherd's hut sits just on the edge of Firle, one of the South Downs most iconic villages. It is a very private space, in it's own little meadow, two minutes walk to the shop and three minutes to the famous Ram Inn with Lewes and Brighton nearby
the hut is in it's own paddock overlooking the south downs, close to the pub and the little village shop. From March to the end of September i will only take two night bookings during the week end, in the week one night bookings are fine. Over the Christmas and new year period i will only take two night bookings and over Easter and the for the Love Supreme Festival a three night booking as a couple.
    everything
  • Fantastic space for a single or very snugly duo. Don't expect hot showers, ceramic hobs or electric. All off grid, loo in church cross the way. But for peace, rejuvenation, health and silence (apart from wind in the trees and cock pheasants calling for a mate)you can't be beat. plus the superlative Ram Inn down the road for breakfast lunch and dinner.....! If you can't get through cos of virus inflamation goggle peter Firle.

    Anas2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a very sweet and tranquil place, with a warm welcome.

    Gracie2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • The hut is nestled in a lovely spot on the edge of the village, and was perfect for me as someone wanting to get away from it for a few days. As Larkin says, "only the young can be alone freely" and whether you agree with this or not, as someone who is not young, and has a fair number of responsibilities, to have a soulful bolt hole to skedaddle to is a great boon. When I took leave of the place and thanked Peter as I left, he said that the hut was becoming a sanctuary for some. For me, it was more of a haven - for me there is something very boat-like in its compact, unfussy, recycled elegance . I look forward to clambering on board again.

Top floor, light and spacious double room with fireplace in character Victorian house with garden. The room has a comfortable double bed, painted floor, large bay window and original Victorian furniture. I am close to trains, buses, ferry, beach and hill walks.
I am a yoga teacher and massage therapist so can offer you one to one yoga lessons or a relaxing massage in a lovely quiet warm space. I am also a great cook and will make you a delicious evening meal if you give me enough notice. The house has a garden and a really friendly cat. The house is quirky, old and a little inconvenient, interesting and shabby. I need to point out that the bathroom is in the basement and the bedroom is 2 flights of stairs up so it is not suitable for anyone disabled or infirm. I have had new windows fitted since writing the above so it is much quieter now but in the summer the seagulls can be noisy. So bring some earplugs if you are sensitive to noise.
Newhaven is on the outside just another industrial small town but has a great beach and cliffs, is only minutes away from the Ferry terminal to Dieppe. Brighton is 30 mins away by bus or train and the historic town of Lewes with it's castle and ancient windy streets is 10 mins by train. I am only minutes walk away from the beautiful downs and river walks.
  • Suzanne is very caring and welcoming. She has a lovely and comfortable home. The apartment is close to the port so if you arrive by ferry (like me) it’s perfect. You have everything close by. It was a perfect stay for me. Thank you again Suzanne

  • Suzanne was a lovely and warm host and her home is beautiful and peaceful. It's perfect if you just want some time out or want to explore Lewes /Brighton (very close on the train). When I arrived I had a warm bath with salts and essential oils, a nice cup of tea and read one of her many interesting books. She also provided breakfast/tea and coffee for me which was a thoughtful touch. Overall I would highly recommend- Suzanne really is a suoerhost!

    * We are offering a ‘self Isolation live and work space’ during these difficult times. We can do your shop and deliver to your door and bring deliveries without physical contact. Due to current health concerns we’re taking extra care to deep clean the flat on every turn over. We wash all bedding , towels and covers on a hot wash, in addition to this wipe down all surfaces and handles after a proper clean with a bleach solution. We also have cleaning products on hand should you wish to use them
Our flat is a brand new renovation in the centre of Lewes, originally the beer cellar for The Red White and Blue pub built in 1827 it is now a light and airy, modern well equipped space for a relaxing get away. You have your own front door and the space is completely self contained. The kitchen has an electric oven, dishwasher and washing machine and all the items you'd need if you wanted to cook up a feast. Should you want to eat out the flat is in the very centre of Lewes so all the pubs and restaurants Lewes has to offer are only ever a few minutes walk away.
Lewes is a busy town with lots going on, the town boasts a huge amount of independent shops and restaurants, The Needlemakers is a great place for shopping as is Cliffe High Street for antiquing.

The place is also just a couple of minutes away from the train station but you won't hear a single train. The room is absolutely lovely and beautifully designed. Fitted with everything we needed, there wasn't a single thing we thought we lacked there. Same goes for the private bathroom with a great walk in shower. The breakfast was also provided and waiting in the small fridge fitted in the room. Perfect if you need to leave early to catch a train. Don't hesitate to stay here, you won't regret it!

  • The best Airbnb I’ve stayed in so far ! Immaculate and stylish and so comfortable, totally perfect in every way . Lovely hosts , and a very short walk into town . Plenty of parking in the streets nearby . Loved it here

  • Stu and Aine have taken considerable care in the decoration of the room. They are interesting hospitable hosts. I felt very at ease and welcome. It is a peaceful room to stay in.

  • Stu & Aine were excellent hosts! They made our stay such a delight. I arrived to their AirBnB quite late at night, Stu waited up for us and even reserved a parking spot for us! The bedroom has been beautifully decorated and is very well-equipped for your stay! Stu & Aine left some lovely personal touches such as fresh flowers and chocolates on the counter. They were very helpful at directing us around Lewes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and cannot wait to visit again!

Our location is great we are up high above the beautiful Queen’s Park which is only a 5 min walk just north of Hanover. We are a 10-15 walk from the seafront, pier and city centre. We have good public transport links with the 18 and 21 buses stopping right outside our house which take you to the pier, pavilion, Churchill square and train station in under 10 mins. You are free to use the kitchen facilities including the washer and dryer. We have a downstairs W.C and newly fitted bathroom upstairs with over sized bath and rainfall shower. We have the beautiful Pepperpot at the top of historical Queen’s Park just around the corner from us. Our favourite coffee and smoothie shop is the Wild Cherry Cafe which is 5 mins walk from the house and the wonderful Starfish and Coffee for one of the best breakfast/brunch in Brighton.
  • Emma and her family were super welcoming, kind and helpful about what to do whilst in Brighton...and recommending vegan food places!

  • It was a very comfortable and homely hostel. The park on my way out of the house and on the way to the sea was also very good, and above all, I was reluctant to take this trip as the city is a city, but the owner of the house, Mike, was always nice to me. He was also very kind and brought me everything I needed. The puppy at home was also very cute. The schedule was twisted so I couldn't go to Seven Sisters, but when I was at home, I was very comfortable and healed. Next time I go to Brighton, I am willing to make a reservation. Super cozy and comfortable. The host mike was super kind and those road to beach was wonderful. Recommend for everyone who is planning to visit brighton. Thanks.

  • Straightforward, cosy , clean space within walking distance of the centre. Everything was spotlessly clean and comfy. Recommended for a short stay in Brigton!

  • A top quality stay, at very reasonable cost. Everything I needed, lovely comfortable bed, great bathroom etc. Peaceful and given privacy. Emma very kindly accommodated my request for unperfumed laundry products on the bedding which was a great relief. Super place, very handy for public transport, and also parking car outside which I needed. Thank you <3

  • great place to stay in brighton, recommend!

    Marise2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. Lovely people. Emma couldn’t have been warmer or more welcoming. I felt that while I was sharing their home, I was part of the family and at the same time, I had my privacy. The room is small but very accommodating - with a little chair by the window where I could read and appreciate the view. I could make hot drinks in my room and appreciated the breakfast before setting off into town. Even though their home is a very pleasant half hour walk away from the coast, it’s elevated position, next to the lovely Queens Park, gives a surprisingly good view of the sea. There’s a Victorian public baths around the corner and more lovely little pubs close by than you could shake a stick at. Emma is super helpful and clearly loves Brighton and people and life in general - which is just nice to be around.

    Cathy2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Expect a short steep walk to the property at one point, but that is no problem as the location is still great only about 15-20 mins walk from the station & to the town & beach about the same. A warm welcome & room is cute, quiet & clean.

NHS workers only. It's free (ignore mention of prices). We want to assist NHS teams to split away from shared accommodation and reduce likelihood of self-isolation. A 15 minute walk to hospital may also resolve transport issues. We can feed you. A cosy space in a great location: you have a fabulous view of Brighton and the ocean. You have a sunny, stylish double room; a separate sitting rm w/sofa bed, en-suite shower/separate toilet.
The maisonette is perfect for parents with one child (two are possible) but also for couples (either travelling alone or with 1 x extra guest), solo adventurers and business travellers/conference-goers. There is a £15 additional charge for a third adult but kids (12 to 16) are free (no children under 12 I'm afraid). Nicknamed 'the lighthouse', the accommodation is situated on the top floor of our family house separated by its own door. It comprises of a large loft double bedroom (with shower), a landing and a toilet and a small living room with TV and a comfortable pull-out sofa bed for a third person (or child). The double bedroom has a superb view, and the folding window opens out and overlooks a flat roof area. From this hilltop vista, rooftops descend downward to Brighton Palace Pier and the sea. You are asked not to smoke inside, but you can smoke on the flat roof area which has safety rails (its easy but be careful climbing out!) The room has a south-facing sloping roof which affects the bed only, but is something tall people need to take note of. The sitting room (on a lower level), has a large TV and sofa bed and its own picture window offering a lovely view over the rooftops and down to the sea. The accommodation is completed by your own walk-in shower room and separate toilet.
You’ll love the immediate locality: our house sits at the top of a famous rectangle of terraced streets comprising of pastel coloured 'dolls-house' style buildings that climb the hill from fashionable Kemp Town and nearby Edward Street. The streets on this rectangle frequently appear in TV, movies and commercials! A few doors away from our house you'll note a distinctive old church (now a Greek Orthodox Church) and nestled close to that a lovely early 19th century farmhouse sitting alongside the gleaming glass of the brand new American Express building. A minutes walk up the hill behind us and you'll come to a pub called The Setting Sun which boasts the best beer garden in Brighton (an afternoon suntrap with views which stretch outward to Worthing; on a very clear day, its possible to see the Isle of Wight). For children, a brilliant playground is just 2 minutes away in the form of Tarner Park which also contains a circular flint-building constructed in the mid 19th Century as an observation tower so that a wealthy merchant (Edward Tarner) could see his cargo ships in arrive the English Channel on route to London. From our house, ten minutes walk eastward brings you to the very splendid (and expansive) Queens Park, perfect for kids, for picnics by the lake (its little cafe-hut cooks really good homemade cake and scones). Ten minutes walk southward takes you across Kemp Town's busy St James Street (full of shops, cafes and bars) and onward to the beech and the Palace Pier. Ten minutes walk westward takes you past the Art College, Brighton Pavilion and into the city centre where you can choose to divert to the youthful, arty North Laines or to the traditional 'Brighton Lanes' with its windy ally ways of antique, jewelry and curiosity shops (not forgetting the sweet shops and the notorious 'Choccywoccydoodah').
  • Very hospitable hosts! Would 100% recommend to anyone considering visiting the area

  • An amazing place to stay! The view from the balcony will make you want to live there. A perfect place for 2-3 people. Such accommodating hosts providing cake, wine, breakfast straight to the door (warm croissants and fresh coffee was a perfect hangover cure!) and of course the gorgeous kitty. So close to the town centre where you can access anything and everything you need. Incredibly comfortable beds and a good shower. This very spacious loft conversion reminded me of everything I love about Brighton and I will definitely be staying again.

Totally unique, hand-built, cosy cabin with wood-burner, raised cabin bed, shower room and kitchenette. Fully insulated, with electric heating and hot water. Built by Stu & Aine from recycled timber we're in the heart of the town, just 2 minutes from the Station. Perfect for that romantic weekend away !! We look forward to welcoming you to our cabin, our home and our lovely town.
We are in the heart of the town. Just 2 minutes from the station and 10 minutes from the High Street. Everything you might want from Lewes is a short walk away. Our Cabin is a unique and lovingly crafted space. In the main area is the raised bed, with sumptuous mattress, feather and down duvet & pillows and French linen sheets. We supply a continental style breakfast (granola, orange juice, fruit, toasts, jams, marmalade, berries, real or instant coffees and English and herb teas) for you to have at your leisure. The kitchenette has toaster, kettle, fridge, microwave and Belfast sink. In the drawers you'll find cooking utensils. There is a pull out table, chairs and double seating. The en suite shower room is well appointed and we provide free quality toiletries & luxury cotton towels. And there are lots of lovely little touches doted through the cabin. Relax and curl up next to the wood-burning stove and enjoy the views of the garden, or rest on the outdoor deck. The Cabin is well appointed and has everything you need for your stay. It is cosy (think a bit bigger than a Shepherd's Hut) and has lots of storage. It's a two night minimum stay at the weekends & Holidays.
We are so close to Lewes station - it is literally just two minutes (yes - I've timed it !). If you come by car, we can help you with car parking. We overlook the beautiful Grange Gardens, and Southover Grange (handy for weddings there) is close by. It is just a 5 minute walk to Anne of Cleves House (Henry V111's fourth wife), the Castle, the medieval High Street, numerous lovely shops and cafes. It's a 15 minute walk to be out of the town and up onto the surrounding downs and into stunning countryside and a 20 minute drive to the beach and seaside. Glyndebourne, the world famous opera house , is just a ten minute drive away.
  • Thank you for a lovely stay, extremely comfortable and made perfect with the log burner

A perfect place for a weekend getaway and I imagine even lovelier in the late spring/summer when the garden is in full bloom (though the fire was equally as nice for our time there). • This cottage is cosy, clean and entirely beautiful. It is in an ideal location; Lewes station and the town centre are each within a ten-minute walk and there is a little shop just seconds away from the cottage. It is removed enough from the bustle of the town but is still close enough to everything you might need. The idea behind my trip to Lewes was to use Ed and Abi’s cottage as a base to go to Sussex University campus to study at the library. However, the cottage was so beautiful, comfortable and homely that I did not go to the library once! As soon as I arrived I felt at home, due to the tasteful design flourishes and excellent use of space. The sense of homeliness was helped largely too by Abi, who gave me a really comprehensive welcome. Every base was covered; she was so welcoming, friendly, and took a genuine interest in me and my studies. As the cottage is still in its early days, Ed checked throughout my trip that I was comfortable and everything was working, which it absolutely was. The cottage was warm enough during my stay, and it was excellent that I could turn down the radiator if needed. The cottage itself is beautiful, and feels homely, cosy and close but not at all claustrophobic. This is down to the efficient use of space in its design; every area is utilised and fits neatly together, whilst still maintaining that effortless finesse and style evident in the listing’s photos. I particularly love the flooring, it is beautiful reclaimed wood. It sets off the entire cottage with real individuality — something I imagine is difficult in a space this size. The bathroom is also stunning, and its large size does not compromise the rest of the space at all because it is so neatly tucked behind the kitchen. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything required for even the most adventurous chef. As well as the quality kitchenware, I loved the really luxurious cooking oil and sea salt. These little touches, as well as the stunning interior design of the cottage really gave it a polish that Ed and Abi should be proud of. I really don’t have any criticisms of the space at all; the bed is the comfiest Airbnb bed I’ve stayed in, the TV is abundant with entertainment, and the laddered mezzanine creates gorgeous levels in the cottage. I was properly looked-after and will absolutely be coming back. This cottage is criminally good value, and I don’t doubt Ed and Abi will be Superhosts in no time. Book this space up up while you can, because at a price like this I know the cottage will be snapped up.

Just a few minutes walk downhill from the South Downs Way ‘The Loft’ is the perfect place to retreat after a long day’s hike or cycle. With our local pub 300 meters up the road a pint and a hearty meal await. ‘The Loft’ is situated in a quintessentially English village where a 16th century thatched cottage can be seen across the garden and Virginia Woolf’s ‘Monks House’ is just down the road. You can't help but relax and unwind when you visit The Loft. It's the perfect get away.
The Loft is a light, modern first floor apartment with its own private entrance and parking space. The kitchen is well equipped with all you will need and tea and coffee making facilities will be waiting for you when you arrive. Free wi-fi is available too. We also offer an optional 'breakfast tray' and fresh eggs from our own chickens that you'll see when you visit. Please enquire about prices and products when booking.
Rodmell is a lovely quiet village. Whilst there are no streetlights or shops we do have a variety of interesting buildings and history abounds, from thatched cottages and the 12th century St Peters Church to The Monks House (former home of Virginia Woolf and now owned by the National Trust) and our local pub The Abergavenny Arms.
  • Our second experiance in The Loft. If you would like to stay very very uniqe country side, you should choose this sweet cottage.

Cannot recommend enough and a superb host who ensured the place was spotless with lots of little extras to assist e.g. Maps of the local area, books, dvds and games to ensure days out were enjoyed, local hostelries were known and to prevent the tv being used too much. Thank you Juliette

Our home is just under 200 years. It can be a dusty house, if anyone is expecting a modern home this is not it. We are not a hotel but enjoy meeting people of all cultures. We respect your privacy. The bedroom does have personal items in it such as children’s stuffed toys. As we close down for summer due to visits from family. We like people to feel at home when they stay.
We have pets three cats one dog. Two runner ducks and three chickens You will have use of kitchen if you wish. This is a family home. We like our guests to feel at home. Please note we are not a hotel.
We live on a private road which we own. But there are another 8 old houses on this Road. Which by the way is unadopted. Everyone looks out for each other. My husband has lived in this house for over 40 years. It is old and dusty. But everyone that visits loves our home. It appears to have a calming affect on visitors.
  • As described on the box. But with something super extra warm welcoming caring and generous. The fabulous hosts. Great conversation full of charm. Well worth a visit to Annelly's.

Sunkissed apartment in the middle of one of Britain's most fascinating historic towns, not least since it hosts the world's best-known Guy Fawkes Night. Brighton, the hippest city in the UK that isn't called London, is 17 minutes away by train (station is four minutes' walk), 30 by bus. Harveys brewery supplies the town's myriad pubs with the finest ale known to man. Top-quality restaurants and cafes abound, there's a castle to visit, and the beauties of the South Downs are but a skip away.
Flint Owl, Ground and Carafe cafes offer superb coffee, The Cheese Shop is wonderful, Limetree Kitchen is one of the best restaurants outside London, and both the castle and the house where Tom Paine plotted Rights of Man are both well worth a visit.

  • We came here for a mini Christmas break before the big day and couldn’t have been happier with our stay! Instructions on how to get there were clear (it’s very rural!), and place itself was spacious, spotless and bright! Hailey was a lovely host who was happy to let us settle in once we knew the basics, but was on the end of the phone should we have needed her and checked in on us by text throughout our stay - she also provided us with a great tip for going to the Wakehurst Glow Wild event which we loved! The kitchen was very well equipped, which was important to us as we wanted to cook a mini Christmas dinner and we were able to with ease - plus the fresh eggs from the farm she gifted us were incredible and really the cherry on top of this amazing stay!

  • This quiet, comfortable space set amongst beautiful gardens is the perfect retreat after a day of sightseeing. Highly recommended.

  • Martyn was a great host to us. His B&B and entire property was very well kept and everything works. We love his dog, peacocks, canaries & diamond dove (not to mention, all the other wild birds that came to his farm), rams, sheep, geese, chickens and the wonderful garden of fruits and vegetables. My daughter was especially impressed by his compost area as she is into recycling and sustainability. Ask for a guided tour so that you can understand more about his farm. In addition, his breakfast hamper with home-made bread and butter, jams and honey were delicious! And the fresh eggs from your chickens......best to eat it soft boiled.

  • I just stayed 2 nights - for this price it was more than perfect! Clean, everything was prepared to have a „perfect stay there“ I will definitely book it again when I will come to Burgess Hill.

  • I can see why Cheryl gets such good reviews. Lovely house and had a great stay. A lovely home from home when travelling for work. Would definitely stay there again
