Thunder Ridge at the Forest Retreat is an adults-only pet-friendly getaway. Children may come only during specific times: Easter Spring Break and during the summer. Staying here you are surrounded by the Homochitto National Forest. Take a picnic to the sand bars of the pristine spring-fed creek. Hike or mountain bike on the remote forest roads. Plenty of porch sitting awaits you, too. Please note that the address listed on Airbnb is not our location. I email you exact directions.
Experience starry nights listening to the owls hooting far off in the woods and peaceful days with no phones and no interruptions. What you'll hear are only the sounds of nature and what you'll see is the movement of light as the day passes into night. When it rains it is lovely to hear the raindrops on the tin roof. When it's cold it's time to build a fire and become relaxed, warmed and mesmerized by the flames. For the warmer seasons we have super cold AC. If you are staying several days the nearest town with restaurants and nightlife is the Mississippi River town of Natchez. It's 50 minutes away by going north on Hwy 33 and taking Liberty Road west into Natchez. Stock up on good food to eat. We have BBQ grills. Usually there's charcoal but it's wise to bring a sack to be sure. One last note: We clean the cabins as soon as guests leave and then check them the morning before anyone arrives. That said, if a beetle walks through an unseen crack and is there when you arrive please remember you are coming to a natural place surrounded by a national forest home to wildlife, such as, deer and birds and possums and raccoons and moths and beetles, as an example. Please don't blast me with a negative comment if you see a bug in your house. The cabins are beautiful and nature surrounds them on every side.
The Forest Retreat has as its neighbor a national forest. Across the creek is a nurse, but her house is far back and in the woods, too. You can't see it and she never walks down to the boundary of the creek. For twenty-four years I've never seen her there. You may hear her donkeys braying in the distance or her dog bark at dusk when it's dinnertime. Otherwise, you'll only hear the birds and the wind in the trees.
  • You can expect solitude, stillness and a lot of nature.

  • It was super cozy and set up with everything we needed. The location is very peaceful. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed our mornings drinking coffee on the bench overlooking the creek. Thank you, Bess!

  • This is a great spot to relax and recharge in a beautiful, natural setting. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

    Elizabeth2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • First off, would recommend to others looking for a quiet getaway. My wife and I, along with our two dogs, really enjoyed our stay. We walked through the woods and were able to visit the creek for the dogs to swim. It was pretty cold during our stay (lows in the high 20s and highs in the 50s), but as long as the wood burning stove was running (and Bess provided more than enough wood), it was plenty warm enough. During the summer, I could see some really enjoying the creek and the “beach” area most of their stay. Super quiet and peaceful. If rain is in the forecast and you have a truck and/or 4x4, I’d recommend bringing it. The trail to the cabin can get nasty with the clay you’re driving on and if we had a car, I think we would of had a tough time. Overall experience was great and we hope to visit again.

  • If you want peace and quiet, to refresh your soul or to spend quality time with your significant other, THIS IS YOUR PLACE! We stayed at Thunder Ridge and absolutely loved it. Bess is quick to respond to any questions you may have. We made sure to bring everything we needed so we did not have to leave. Go walk to the creek, bring some chairs or a blanket (we went in February, so we built a small fire and had blankets). The tub on the bottom deck was awesome. Book it now. You will not regret it, you will absolutely love this place!! Thank you Bess for sharing your gem with us.

  • I loved my stay here, and so did my pup! She had a blast playing in the nearby creek. The cabin is lovely and well-stocked. The fireplace made it extra warm and cozy, especially during our first cold and rainy night. I especially enjoyed the outdoor bathtub. So peaceful!

  • Another great weekend in a perfect spot. Will be back again soon.

  • You know you are really off the grid (mostly) once you hit the dirt/mud road portion of the trip, depending on weather, and realize you are no longer fully in control. the road has taken over and is bringing you where it wants to. Luckily for you it will bring you to Thunder Ridge (or the other location they have) and once you arrive you will be in a bubble of calm, disconnected and freed from the noise of your day to day life. Hike, fish, have a picnic, find hidden fairy coves... and most importantly; just take a moment and breath it in. The home is lovely. It uses the small space very well with a great little kitchen and bathroom with a standing shower. The main living/sleeping area feels bigger due to the high ceiling that also houses a small reading loft space. The wood burning stove is a wonderful addition to the calming and warm atmosphere and there is a nice variety of books and a few board games to play. The balcony wraps around and you can see the sandbar from right out the double sliding glass doors. The coup de grace of course is the outdoor tub. Mentioned in almost every review it is definitely highlight of the stay. Completely outdoors on the wooden deck below it is an amazing way to close out a day of activities or lounging. It has an over head shower as well as a hand shower head attached to the tub. The water gets very hot and they have a little cabinet with niceties to add to the tub. Stay here. It'll be good for your soul. Take a breath. You deserve it.

  • I enjoyed a weekend getaway at Joe’s bungalow and would easily recommend the space to other vacationers or anyone looking for a relaxing spot. The cabin in and of itself is a work of art, beautiful and inviting, and the view of False River is spectacular. The kitchen is very well stocked and made cooking a breeze. Joe was pleasant to communicate with and the check-in/check-out process was straightforward. Note that the cabin is next to a trafficed roadway, so it is not a secluded location. I had no trouble sleeping, but it might be worth mentioning just in case.

  • Such a unique place. Loved it

  • Worth so much more than the daily rate. Magnificent place! Charming! Much better than the pictures! Don’t hesitate, book it now! You will fall in love. It had literally everything you could need except an iron and hair conditioner. But there was a dryer so used that instead. Jacuzzi was fabulous! Location was great!

    Jennifer2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin on False River is the perfect little get away.....The photos don’t do it justice, it is much more beautiful in person & has everything you could need for your stay....The wood burning fireplaces make the cabin so warm and cozy during a winter stay. Beautiful sunrises for your morning coffee and gorgeous sunsets for sipping a glass of wine await you as you enjoy the deck on the water. Joe is such an excellent host, always available & quick to respond! Jamie and Jim Dyer 01/26/2020

  • Joe's place was the perfect spot to retreat for a few days from the city. The space is gorgeous with incredible light from the water, the dock was wonderful for reading and relaxing, and our mini-dog was so happy to get to come with! We are already hoping to find a way back in the future!

You’ll love my place because of the quiet, peaceful surrounding, whether it is sitting on the deck listening to the trickle of the fountain and the birds, or just kicking back and watching a movie. Or you can be in the midst of downtown in just a few minutes, while walking along the bluff taking in the stunning views of the mighty Mississippi River below.. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers.
Charming cottage built in 1920's with a private back porch, large pergola surrounded by landscaped gardens and fountain. Inside is modernized with a spacious floor plan that is conducive to relaxing and getting away from it all. There is a king size bed in the bedroom and a queen Aerobed for additional guests. With a full service kitchen and laundry in the cottage, guests have everything they need whether it be a one night stay, a week or even a month.
Beautiful old neighborhood full of homes built in the early 20th century and the historical cemetery close by.Quiet with little traffic.

  • An excellent place for some R&R. The cottage was centrally located and had so many nice amenities: coffee, WiFi, Netflix, lots of cozy blankets for cold nights, and even a washer and dryer! The check in process was great, and Joanne was actually there to greet us and make sure we got in okay. She had some great info inside on local attractions and suggestions. The actual cottage was very clean and decorated very cute! If it had been a bit warmer, we would have loved to spend hours relaxing on the porch! I'd recommend this place to anyone.

  • An absolutely lovely and welcoming place to stay. My only complaint is that I didn’t have a long enough time in Natchez to enjoy all the history, great food, and lovely scenery this town has to offer! Will be back for sure!

Cabin is 10 min. from historic downtown St Francisville and has creek access on the property. It's centrally located within easy access to plantation homes, Port Hudson battle trails, Tunica Falls & Audubon Pilgrimage July Songbird Music School. Dogs allowed with added $10 cleaning fee (for shedding) and preaproval. Now have a very unique, cozy 2nd rental: Airstream Avalon.
Antique cypress shotgun home and over 100+ years old. It has been carefully renovated with tears of love & craftsmanship by the artist/owner. Interior decor features original artwork by the owner. Great back porch view with swing to relax and enjoy the solitude of the outdoors. A wood stove accents the main living area and is fully functional (wood provided by owner).
I recommend the Birdman Coffeehouse for breakfast and occasional music nights. Magnolia Cafe, Also The quaint St Francisville Inn has a generous breakfast buffet (open 7days a wk). The Magnolia, the Frances, and the Lebanese cafe are all great for local lunch and dinner. Also there are some nice places in New Roads to eat across the new bridge.
  • Amazing place like the dream cottage you hope it will be but seldom is! Enjoy!

If you are looking for a rental where you can escape from the real world, unplug, and really soak up the beautiful nature/scenery, this is the place! Our pup, Lady, really enjoyed exploring in the woods and creek area. The personal and artistic touches to the cabin are beautiful as well! One of the most unique and tranquil places I have ever stayed!

This Southern-style home is a short walk to downtown on the trail along the Bluff. Walk in the other direction to visit the historic Natchez City Cemetery, always peaceful and quiet. Sitting on the covered front porch, you can enjoy the park-like setting. Inside, are high ceilings and spacious, open living areas — typical of a turn-of-the-century Southern home. If you're musical, there's a baby grand piano to enjoy. My place is good for couples, families and business travelers.

Adirondack style treehouse cabin surrounded by a 99,000-acre national forest. Here guests enjoy hiking and mountain biking on the rugged forest service roads, or to more leisurely wander down to the spring-fed creek and look for fossils. In your cabin, you have a wrap-around porch, super comfy beds, plus a full kitchen and bath. A six-cylinder or eight-cylinder vehicle is required to drive back up hill after unloading at your house.
Solitude and no interruptions combine with mid-story views of the surrounding forest, where owls might land on a limb a few feet away from you sitting on the porch, are what make our place special. We have longtime guests who return here year after year, and have for the last twenty- four years, the Forest Retreat has been welcoming guests to its beauty and solitude. Our pet-friendly cabins in southern Mississippi are just two hours from New Orleans. We are regional favorites for folks from Lafayette, Jackson, Baton Rouge, and down to the bayou. Please read our reviews to confirm that you’ll love your secluded house at the Forest Retreat.
If you want to leave the beauty of the wilds, Natchez is 50 minutes away up Hwy 33 and then west on Liberty Rd. takes you into downtown Natchez with restaurants and nightlife.

  • The Fallen Treehouse is a great place to unwind, disconnect, and just breathe. My fiancé and I enjoyed our time hiking around the area with our dog, playing board games, reading, and staying warm by the fireplace. Bess was very helpful in giving directions on how to operate each amenity the cabin had to offer. We will be back!

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Bess's place is absolutely amazing. The decorations are simple and quirky very nature inspired. Speaking of inspiration the views from the bed at night looking up at the stars can't be beat. If you are looking for a nice retreat away from the hustle this is your place to go and reconnect with your significant other, yourself, or just nature. Stop putting it off BOOK IT ALREADY!!! Seriously though we loved it and will definitely be back.

The 500 sq ft cabin is located in the beautiful 100,000 acres Homochitto National Forest. It is also on the the southern end of the Caston Creek WMA. Caston Creek has a host of wildlife such as whitetail deer, turkey, squirrel, rabbit, redhead woodpecker and other birds. There are numerous clear sandy creeks winding through the Homochitto Forest. We are located about 2 hours northwest of New Orleans and 2 hours northeast of Baton Rouge. The cabin it's self sits on a shady 2.5 acres of a mixture of pine and hardwood trees.
    Small but spacious and cozy
    Quite and private .
  • We had a great time! We had no problem finding the cabin or checking in. Everything was clean and ready, the kitchen was well stocked, and there was a stack of firewood waiting for us. This was a perfect quiet, romantic getaway. The cabin itself is very comfortable, and the surrounding area is gorgeous. We couldn't have asked for anything more. We will likely book again in the future and will recommend to friends.

  • If you are looking for a perfect little getaway to escape the stresses of work, or city life, or just feel the need to spend a little time reconnecting with yourself or others or your furry friends ~ I HIGHLY recommend the B & K cabin in Gloster Mississippi. I just spent four days in an almost dreamlike state. Unplugged from the web of social media and phone calls and emails. The property is amazing. A small cabin in the Homochitto national forest that sits on the sandy banks of Brushy Creek. I spent endless hours walking through bubbling brooks, picking through river stones to find Indian arrow heads and jewelry, while my dog splashed carelessly in the shallow waters chasing leaves and sticks and bubbles down stream. We camped on the sandbar night one and cooked steaks. We explored the trails and bridges day two and cooked a feast of Boudin and eggs and fresh bacon from Wayne Jacobs. I saw the Milky Way for the first time in years. As steam rose from the morning waters the next day we followed bear tracks and deer tracks and built another fire next to the softly rolling waters. I wish I could bottle the experience and share it with everyone. This property is perfect for the solo camper, or would be great for a group. The owners have put a lot of thought into making sure you have everything on site for a relaxing experience. I didn’t want to leave, and it was nearly impossible to get my dog out of the water and on the road back to New Orleans. Just two hours north of New Orleans, I’ll definitely be back...

  • Very peaceful stay! Tina was also very helpful and a great host!

    John2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, this place is amazing! The property is a huge well shaded, but wide open space in the trees, and opens up into a beach upon the river with incredibly soft sand! My kids and dog played on the beach and explored up and down the river all day until they collapsed in their beds each night. If you are looking for a place to unplug and enjoy time outside with your family (and dogs) I highly recommend this cabin to you!

  • Awesome place to stay when you want to get away from life and unplug.

    Jennifer2019-10-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this sweet, little cabin!

    Erin2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! What an incredible place to unplug in total privacy! This stay is the PERFECT set up for us! We need the occasional break away to unplug from our business and recharge away from all the electronics & never-ending demands AND our 3 Chow Chow furbabies who love the water need a CLEAN waterhole w/easy access to enjoy all day. We've searched all around in a huge radius, and THIS place is IT! Plenty of space to roam and the creek just perfect for spending a relaxing time just a few steps away. We didn't need our sun umbrellas we brought as they were already provided and the cabin is well stocked as described for whatever you need. Linens are fresh and super comfortable and it's just the perfect space. I'm a pretty good sleeper and I slept hard LOL!...amazing the difference! You feel like you have the whole forest to yourself! Hubby has a new hobby searching for Indian tools and arrowheads...he finally found one! Can't wait to come back and it'll be soon for sure! Very much appreciate having this get-away not too far away!

Update: We are monitoring COVID-19 in our area. The cabin is on private property without any neighbors nearby. Along with our regular cleaning of the cabin we will be taking extra measures to ensure it Is sanitized and deep cleaned between our bookings. This cabin has a full kitchen, living room, bathroom, and bedroom with a king bed. We do not have wifi in the cabin, but we do have direct tv.Perfect for anyone needing to get away from their city and enjoy a peaceful time away from the stress!
About ten/fifteen minutes from downtown st Francisville!
  • From my Parents who spent two nights here: “Rosebank Cabin was so cozy and relaxing during the month of January. The house dog, Nugget, was so hospitable to my standard poodle, Abbie. It was very clean and stocked with muffins, juice, coffee, and wine. The first day, we sat on the porch and listened to the rain, and the next day we had a fire in the fireplace. A perfect place to read or write a book.”

  • Great little cozy cabin,Beautiful in & out We will return. Thanks Juneann.

  • Juneann's little cabin is incredibly charming and comfortable. The pictures do not compare. We came for a relaxing weekend away and that is exactly what we got.

    Brianna2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This was a beautiful cabin very close to Tunica Falls! We loved all the wonderful touches like the wine and muffins, and the renovated bathroom was a unexpected luxury in an otherwise charming rural escape :D also, we were in love with the farm doggogs and so was our little boy (black Pom named Hendrix).

    Ivana2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a perfect little space for those looking for a quiet get-a-way. The scenery was perfect, the fireplace was extra cozy and the 4 legged friends nearby was an extra special touch for this vet tech. 10/10 would recommend and is definitely planning on returning soon.

    Angel2019-11-14T00:00:00Z
  • The pictures don’t do any justice!! Quick response, easy check in. SO COZY! Can’t wait to go back!

    Carly2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • We rented this precious cottage last minute because it was dog friendly and we were given the task of caring for our daughter and son-in-law’s fur baby after their nuptials. The welcoming committee greeted us tails a wagging! The cottage is warm and inviting. The bed is beyond comfortable. We suspect our pup had people food at the reception because he became ill during the night. We did our best to clean up and intended to take linens to be cleaned and then returned but the sweet hostess went above and beyond our expectations and insisted on handling the remaining cleanup herself. We definitely recommend staying at this little hidden treasure!

This cozy and well-appointed cabin is perfect for bird watchers, writers, or those looking to experience the serenity of the woods. The first floor has a large living/dining area with a queen sized sofa bed, dining table, modern, fully furnished kitchen and full bathroom. The downstairs contains a dreamy bedroom with queen sized bed and full bathroom. The cabin is 8 miles north of downtown St. Francisville and mere minutes from hiking, shopping, area festivals, and dining establishments. Amenities include the provision of all linens and towels, a washer/dryer and internet service. Important to note: There are no TVs at this property.
This sweet little cabin used to be a camp for boys and girls. Hence, the separate downstairs and upstairs spaces. The cabin is perched atop a forest ridge that overlooks magnificent trees of multiple varieties. A wall of windows in the living room brings the outside in and provides beautiful views. Close by, enjoy what we call "the bulkhead," a graveled area where you can enjoy a campfire or grill dinner. Also nearby, there's a grassy field where you can play games or star gaze.
Our cabin is located in a small rural neighborhood. The cabin is on just over 6 acres of land. We think you'll love its natural beauty.
  • This was a perfect weekend getaway. The cabin is super-cozy and has everything one needs. Just sitting by the window gazing out over the forest was fantastic. Our dogs loved exploring the grounds and we took a couple of hikes down to a small creek which was magical. We had magnificent weather but this little house will be a perfect hide-out even on a rainy day. We certainly would come back here! Thank you so much Kathryn.

    Anja2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • It’s a very cozy relaxing place to stay. Sitting outside listening to the birds was amazing. If your looking for a place to leave the busy rushed life behind this is it. There is lots of seating outside to just sit and read a book, or just look into the woods and watch the squirrels. The fire pit area was great and everything was provided for us to be able to sit and enjoy a cozy fire. Don’t forget to Bring your ingredients for s’mores. 😋

    Amy2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Super adorable cabin that feels like a tree house in the middle of beautiful forest. Wind chimes are marvelous on front porch and windows everywhere bringing in natural light making cabin so wonderful if you want to enjoy nature in tranquil and serene lodgings within a few minutes of historic St. Francisville downtown, national park, and wildlife preserve. Loved this cabin!!!!

  • Beautiful location and cozy cabin. Would stay again!

    Rachelle2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This is the perfect little middle-of-nowhere escape. It's far enough away from things but also not a bad drive into the cute town of St. Francisville. We went to hike Clark Creek one day which was about 30 minutes away and a beautiful hike. My dog loved the cabin and all the free space to roam around. The cabin was perfect and just what we needed for a weekend getaway. I recommend bringing your own coffee b/c I forgot to pack mine and the nearest coffee shop is 15 minutes away. But the cabin has everything you need otherwise!

    Tara2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful Cabin in the woods. Kathryn was very responsive and even worked with me after I screwed up my booking by accident. Nice hiking behind the Cabin and very cool place. Brought my 9 year old son for his birthday and we had a blast!!

  • Birdsong was fantastic and you should really stay!

    Jared2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin with a great view. It’s about a 30 minute drive from Clark Creek and only about 15 minutes from downtown St. Francisville. The kitchen was well equipped as well as the bathroom. We enjoyed the separate fire pit area. Directions to the cabin were easy to follow. We enjoyed our stay very much!

Tucked away from the noise of life and located on 10 beautiful rolling acres, this modern rustic cabin is the perfect place to relax and feed your soul. Unwind on the wrap around porch with a glass of wine and the fireflies at night. We are conveniently located minutes from I-55 and historic downtown Summit, MS.
  • Loved this place! The location was great...near a major interstate (not too close though), the cabin was super clean, the porches and hammock were nice (glass of wine listening to the birds was wonderful), any amenity needed was available (snacks, water, awesome towels and plenty of them, washer and drawer), the host is a great communicator (friendly and informative) and we loved the property (plenty of space to stretch your legs or sit by the pond). We will definitely come back next time we are in the area!

    Lynette2020-03-01T00:00:00Z

  • If you're looking for the peace and quiet that being in the country can bring, then Firefly Lane should be on your list of places to visit. The hosts have seen to it that their guests want for nothing. The cabin is rustic, but with all the modern conveniences of home. The amenities were amazing, so that if you forgot something, more than likely it was already waiting for you. The grounds are lovely, and the pond adds to the beauty of this special "home away from home". You won't regret adding this retreat to your list of memorable places to stay - it's already been added to ours!

  • All I can say is wow. Definitely my best Air BnB experience to date. The attention to detail was noticeable from the moment I walked in to the cozy, charming cabin. The surrounding property is beautiful and secluded but with with easy access to downtown Summit and McComb. I was so impressed by the cleanliness and comfort of the cabin. Kendra has gone above and beyond to create a retreat suitable for just about anybody. I took a weekend trip with my boyfriend, but I am excited about the prospect of taking my family there for a low stress vacation. Kendra anticipated every need including easily forgotten items like chargers and toiletries. The check in and out processes are very simple adding another level of ease to the experience. I can’t say enough good things about the hostess and her cabin.

    Leslie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place. Me and my sons love it.

  • Wanted a quick getaway for New Year’s Eve and had a great family trip to Kendra’s “Modern Cabin”. Easy 1.5 hr drive from New Orleans, spotlessly clean and quiet. Just what we (and our two kids, 2 & 4 years old) were looking for. Kendra was a kind host and even brought us some firewood for a campfire and marshmallow roast with the kids in the evening. The cabin was comfortable and really thoughtfully equipped with everything we needed to cook, eat, hang out and relax. Highly recommend!

The Little Red Barn at Chisum Farm is located on a 122 ac hobby farm with fishing ponds, hiking and bird watching areas approx. 10 mi. from town. Mini horses, mini donkeys, 3 goats and longhorn cattle reside on the property, a place we enjoy sharing with others. The LRB, built in 2001 has never been used as a barn and has a large bedroom, bath with shower and living room with a small kitchen area. A large front porch offers a place to relax and take in the views!
The kitchen area has an antique drainer sink, small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and table and chairs, no oven or range. An outside grill is available for use and an induction hot plate inside. There is a twin bed in the living room used as a reading nook. The large bedroom features a king bed.
The neighborhood is a beautiful rural area. A store is located about 3-5 minutes away on Hwy 61 with almost anything you may have forgotten! The property was once included in the plantation where Lucy Audubon taught plantation children while husband, John was completing his famous book "Birds of America".
  • We loved Gail and Fran’s place. The Little Red Barn was adorable and we had the best time walking around the property. We had a fire in the pit and enjoyed drinking coffee on the porch every morning. It is very close to town and just a short drive from the Tunica Falls Hiking Trails! The king-sized bed was so comfortable! We will definitely be back!

    Sally2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The host were most gracious! We loved the seclusion of the property. The animals were an added perk! We loved grilling , sitting around the fire pit, rocking on the front porch and dancing under the stars ! It was a great escape for us and I would highly recommend it to anyone that wants to enjoy the simplicity of country living.

    Carol2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! From the very first minute on the property we were just blown away by how perfect everything was. We were offered the cabin to make things easier for our 18mo daughter, which was so kind. The cabin felt like a cooler version of my grandmas house! My daughter had a blast playing outside and interacting with the many animals, especially the cat, who joined her for every nap and meal she had on the porch. It’s a truly rural setting with lots of natural wildlife. The books, as others have noted, were really interesting picks and the bathroom was very clean. My family will be spending a few days here again whenever we make the trip from the east coast to Texas!

    Mia Alejandra2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the cabin, not the barn. Fran and Gail made us feel completely at home. We enjoyed walking the property and interacting with the various animals. This place is well worth the visit and we plan to stay here again the next time we visit.

    Philip2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time staying at the cabin and it was as fantastic as the first time. The leaves were beautiful and the fire was perfect for s’mores! Never disappoints. It is the perfect getaway to relax and enjoy the beautiful property. Gail and Fran are such generous hosts. Can’t wait til our next trip!

    Shelley2019-11-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic place to use as a hub to spend a few days touring all of the plantations and sights of Saint Francisville. It's close enough to them but yet totally private and peaceful without the feel of the commercial hotels and such. It's small but practical and really more roomy than any hotel room at a fraction of the cost. It has the charm of a country cottage in the middle of a huge family farm, although I don't think you'll be disturbed by tractors and harvesting. There's a huge front porch with plenty of seating to sit back and have a perfect view of the beautiful sunsets and peaceful evenings. If you are traveling with kids there are acres for them to run around and tire themselves out so mom and dad can have a restful sleep. I'm sure I'll be back again as I pass through.

    James2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gail, Fran, and their family were very friendly and accommodating upon our arrival. The LRB was sparkling clean and full of small touches to make you feel at home. Our little girl adored greeting the animals each morning. Thank you again for the hospitality! We hope to visit again.

    Rachel2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely setting, and the donkeys, pigs, and mini-horses were such a nice addition. One note: though a "kitchen" is listed, it consists of just a hot plate, and a few utensils. So if you'd like to cook, pack and plan accordingly.

  • Dean’s home was unusually comfortable, peaceful, quiet with a very user-friendly kitchen, open floor plan and cozy living room. Bedrooms were comfortable, with nice jacuzzi also. This host was always particularly quick to respond and be helpful when needed. This home is in a fairly convenient location for shopping and finding good restaurants if needed nearby within a 10 to 15 minute drive. We would stay here again if the need arises.

  • This was my 3rd Air BnB rental and I must say the best! Dean was very kind, responded quickly! A very nice guy! His home was clean, plenty of everything, we only had to buy food! Alexa kept us updated on everything! Five stars is not enough to rate this experience! Already requesting next year dates to make sure I rent Deans home again! Even though I paid a cleaning deposit I felt like family and made sure his home was left the way we came in! We came during the storm time of Barry, his calmness in his voice calmed us! He gave us the option of a late check out or even the next day check out with no additional charge! The home is well decorated! The pictures you see are the actual things you see in the home! Nothing cheap, comfortable beds, thick soft towels! High class place! Quiet neighborhood, alarm included! Safe surroundings! Located by every store! I can go on and on, bottom line going to La, Dean is the place! I stand by him so that I am willing to pay for a night in a hotel if you are not satisfied! Cynthia from Houston but New Orleans born!

Three bedrooms, two couches, jacuzzi bath tub, classic wooden floors and high ceilings, remodeled kitchen and bathrooms, porch with rockers, parking for three vehicles behind house. WiFi and DirectTV, as well as washer, dryer, full kitchen, and porch with rocking chairs. The house is located a block from Stanton Hall and three blocks from the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Rentals by the week available. Special discounted weekend, weekly and monthly rates available.
The house in Natchez which I bought in 2004 then remodeled and restored, complete with white picket fences, next to the Sawyer House, a peri-bellum house built during the Civil War. The house is located a block away from Stanton Hall, headquarters of one of the Garden Clubs, and a quarter mile from the bluffs overlooking the Mississippi River, where I love to walk. The front porch has sky blue ceilings and slate gray floors, built in the Southern tradition.
Garden District, just blocks from the bluffs and historic downtown Natchez. The streets are lined by crepe myrtles and ancient live oaks, like something out of Tennessee Williams’ plays. A carriage drawn by horses goes by the house, which has rockers on the front porch.
  • It is very easy to enter the house. The owner gives you all the information you need and everything is in order at home. Highly recommended!

  • Great value. Lots of space. Very clean and cozy. Neighborhood is older, but felt safe and a really short walk to the riverfront. We really enjoyed it and would visit again!

Two Bedroom 1 Bath Cottage on the Bluff overlooking the Mississippi River. Located in a quiet Historic District in the Heart of downtown Natchez. A short walk along the riverfront to all the attractions, Casino, Restaurants, and Antebellum Homes. Sit and watch the stunning sunsets, or watch the many river barges as they make there way up and down the Mississippi River.
  • Omg, this place is AMAZING! I seriously took pictures so that I can recreate it in Texas someday, not sure how I'll move the river there, but I'll figure that out later. This house is right across from the river, so the views from inside the house, the front porch, and the sidewalk across the little street are just drop dead gorgeous. The house itself is decorated beautifully and super clean and comfortable. There's a washer and dryer there you can use. The sleigh beds in both rooms are very comfortable. The neighborhood is completely quiet at night, allowing for a great night's sleep. I highly recommend this house, the best Air BNB I've ever stayed in!

Wind down at this unique, super cozy and peaceful retreat among the cows & country landscape. All the amenities of home with personal touches I hope you’ll enjoy. Conveniently located 25 min from Tiger Stadium, 6-8 minutes from Metro airport, I-10, Southern University, shopping, restaurants & minutes from the Baton Rouge Zoo. A quick 15 min drive to Exxon Refinery, great if working a turn around. Check In at 3pm, although I'm flexible and offer later check in, by request.
This is not an actual farm, the space is a garage apartment located behind my main home, which happens to be next to land used to feed cows. Great value for the price! 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom , sleeps three comfortably (pull out futon in living area), high speed internet, Netflix and Firestick, plenty of fresh towels, toiletries, soaps and a fully stocked kitchen including pots, dishes, condiments, and Keurig coffee maker. Lovely farmhouse décor with plenty of natural light! Enjoy morning coffee or evening night cap on the porch area overlooking grazing cows in green pastures -sometimes within feet of the porch :)
Pleasant Hill subdivision. Quiet multicultural neighborhood of working professionals, nestled right outside of the city. A park is located in my neighborhood with a basketball court and room to walk or jog, roughly about one block from my home.

  • I had a great stay at K's place. It is quiet and cute. I liked having covered parking and check in and check out was seamless. The view of the neighboring pasture was lovely. The climate control is a couple of wall units that ran quietly and kept the space very comfortable. There was plenty of hot water for showers and everything was spotlessly clean during our stay. The space has some rough edges here and there (more cosmetic than functional), but I found it very cozy and reassuring. I would stay here again.

  • We had decided to escape the month of February in Wisconsin by staying at Heart of Natchez. We were so happy we did! Cute space with everything we would need, welcoming to our dog and close to Bluff Park and anywhere we might want to walk, which was pretty much everywhere. While we enjoyed some of local eating spots, we were able to cook most of our meals right in our apartment, which made it feel more like home and less like a "stopover spot." Joanne was great with giving us some local tips and helping with any little glitches we might have experienced with the technology. We even came home one afternoon to find a gorgeous Mardi Gras wreath on our door to make us feel part of the festivities. We would definitely book with Joanne in the future!

The Cabin is located on a 122 ac tree farm, with fishing ponds, hiking trails and bird watching areas. Mini donkeys, mini horses and goats live on the property, a hobby farm that we enjoy sharing with others. The Cabin, built in 2003, has heart of pine flooring, bedroom, living, kitchen area with private bath and laundry closet. An additional shower is located on the back porch. Porches on two sides overlooking two ponds offer a place to relax and view the beauty. (approx. 10 mi from town)
This property once included the plantation where Lucy Audubon taught plantation children while husband John was completing his famous book "Birds of America."

A simple quaint farmhouse cottage located on a working dairy farm. Here you will be able to meet our Jersey girls, pet their precious baby calves, and watch the farmer and his family work passionately. We love that our small Milkmaid’s Cottage resembles the life we live very simple.
We are very rurally located. • 13 miles to nearest hospital • 6.2 miles to Paradise Ranch Resort for a day pass • 6 miles to Canoe and Trail Outpost for kayak, canoe, or tube rental • Locally owned Restaurant’s within 15 mile radius • We are located 106 miles from New Orleans,LA and 99 miles from Jackson, MS.
  • What a delightful getaway from the city! The place met the description and our expectations and the hosts are quite gracious. We felt really comfortable in the cottage and enjoyed walking around the farm and country roads. Our toddler (and us too) we’re thrilled to interact with the cows and we enjoyed learning about the aspects of a family-run milk farm. We would certainly enjoy going back for another visit. And not to mention how scrumptious the dairy products are!!!

    Marybeth2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place. We had a great time strolling with our dog and seeing the animals. The cottage is very cozy and cute, and the cheesecake and milk delicious. A great place to escape from the city!

  • This sweet cottage is right dab in the center of an idyllic farm. The cows are sweet and the sunset's gorgeous. Perfect for a quick, restful escape from the city .

    Rhiannon2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • The milkmaid cottage is so cute and sweet. A perfect break from the city. We enjoyed meeting the family and the cows. The cheesecake alone is worth the drive. We were warned that it was chilly up and came ready but the cabin was cozy and warm. We hope to come back soon.

    Madison2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place was absolutely fantastic. We were looking for a place to relax and unplug for a few days, and Mauthe's farm was the perfect place to do just that. The cheesecake was delicious, the scenery was beautiful, and the cows were so fun to interact with. The cottage was cozy and had all the amenities we needed. Highlights of the trip included getting to see the daily milking, learning about the dairy, and stargazing after dark. We can't wait to come back again!

    Baylen/Jenna2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at the Mauthe Farm was excellent! Wonderful hospitality in a very relaxing a beautiful setting - particularly with the approaching Autumn at trees beginning to drop their leaves. I highly recommend coming out during a New Moon, as the stargazing was excellent! Such a treat to see so many stars and constellations as the big city lights typically drown them out from my usual nightly sky. And if you get the chance to try the cheesecake, don't hesitate for a second! Your taste buds will be oh so grateful. I highly recommend a Mauthe farm getaway.

Separate entrance. Private bath. Quiet country setting. We are off the highway and away from city confusion. Yet still 30-40 minutes to Baton Rouge, very close to St. Francisville, Zachary and New Roads. We are smoke, tobacco free, inside and out. Long term options available for contract workers.
Nice quiet views of nature. Birds galore!! The house is built from reclaimed wood, has a nice inviting open, lodge, casual concept. There are 5 acres, a (URL HIDDEN) old church next door..great ambience. We are happy to host adults. No children under 16, please.
I am totally in love with our location...very rural, but close enough to Baton Rouge to enjoy the city conveniences. We are an hour and a half from New Orleans, and also an hour or so from Lafayette.
  • Very nice accommodation and a typical location in the middle of nature. Everything has been OK and we have spent a really great time with Perry. She is a very kind and likeable person. We strongly recommend the place.

The house, lawn, and amenities are all top-notch. Even better, Perry is the perfect hostess. I give Perry's place my highest endorsement, and will definitely stay with her anytime I have business in Baton Rouge.

The ground and house are beautiful, especially the interior decoration and the nature is a must see! we are more than happy we’ve booked that Airbnb. Perry is a great host, very friendly. We got many tips for our trip and a delicious breakfast without booking one as well as little snacks - it felt like being home. We recommend everybody to go here, you won‘t find a more lovely place :)
