  • Helen and her husband are great hosts. The facility is well appointed. The kitchen has a lot of nice extra utensils. The pans are very high quality. The location is in a beautiful rural location. You do need your own transportation to get around the area. The indoor pool and hot tub are really nice.

  • Outstanding Hospitality and facilities. Definitely a great place to stay. We were a group of eight and we all felt very welcome and looked after throughout our stay. Hazel and John were always on hand when we needed anything and have great local knowledge. The pool, the barbeque cabin and cinema room are the icing on the cake. 100% would recommend this accommodation to families and groups.

  • We booked the large house that sleeps 10 and it was as advertised and more. The extras which were provided such as tea, coffee and cake for when we arrived, the board games etc and in the brilliant swimming pool were pool toys and swimming aids for the children. We would be happy to recommend the house to everyone

  • Our stay in cottage number 6 was great. The cottage is stylish and very spacious. We were a group of 6 adults and 2 young children. It was sparkly clean and the kitchen was fully equipped. The facilities on site are fabulous - great pool and fantastic park area for the kids. The setting is very peaceful yes close to lots of things to do. Hazel was great at communicating and sent us thorough details for everything we needed before our arrival. I will definitely be coming back!

  • It was ideal for 6 adults and 2 children. It was very spacious and had plenty of equipment in the kitchen with double amounts of plates and cutlery. The pool was fantastic and it was lovely to just walk across the courtyard. It was peaceful and set in a lovely location with good access to beaches and towns.

  • Wow! What a wonderful place to stay Heatherdown is - it looks beautiful in the picture but is even better in real life! We took my mum for a surprise birthday weekend and she absolutely loved it! It’s the perfect house for a gathering of family or friends. All the rooms are decorated so lovely - furnishings are quality, the log burners were a dream and the view of the sea was to die for. There were lots of little extras that I didn’t expect too like toiletries in all of the bathrooms, plenty of wood and kindling for the fires and a lovely bottle of wine and some snacks on arrival. Justin was extremely accommodating in the lead up to our stay and any queries were never too much trouble. I thoroughly recommend Heatherdown and will return in the future myself.

  • Stayed this weekend and had a great time. 3 kids and a dog, plenty of space for us all. Warm and cosy even though the house is huge! 3 good size bedrooms, 2 lovely shower rooms and a big open plan living/kitchen area. Fully equipt kitchen, everything supplied! Very clean. The outdoor space was great, lawn and decked area, hot tub was enjoyed by the kids. The hosts were informative and helpful, there is a good guide book to look through. Always on hand for a chat or information or the offer of fresh eggs! The house is located within a farm, the lake was fun- got the boat out for a paddle. Played ping pong and had some family fun. Fed the horses carrots , there is plenty to do for the kids to keep them entertained there. Woolacombe beach is a ten minute drive, gorgeous beach even in the wind and rain. Dog friendly this time of year too. Hired bikes in the local village of Braunton, £15 for 2 adult bikes all day, thanks Otters cycles. Did the Tarka trail and ended up in Barnstaple having tea and cake. Siam bistro in Braunton was delicious, got a takeaway one night. I'd recommend this place, we will be back!

  • A little gem of a retreat in the North Devon countryside, and with the coast just being less than a 10 min drive away. Pollyanna is a kind and thoughtful host. She provided us with local information, she’s always on hand if needed and even warming up our hot tub when we’d been out for the day so it was ready when we returned. We loved the layout of the place and it was very clean and the kitchen has everything you need. The views are stunning and the lake a tranquil retreat. We were there for my husbands 40th birthday and our 3 children of 9 and 8 yrs. The Farm provided enough things for us to do if we wanted to stay there all day or there were lots of other activities close by if needed. We really had a special time, the hot tub is amazing and we have lots of wonderful memories to take away with us. Thanks to Pollyanna and her husband for having us.

    Karina2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • 6 girls stayed for a relaxing weekend. We had such a lovely time & there was plenty of space for all of us. Such lovely decor and personal touches throughout the property. We loved the hot tub & the location was perfect. Pollyanna was fantastic. Very quick at responding to messages and facilitating all queries. We will definitely be returning.

    Nina2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Pollyanna’s place over the weekend. It was exactly what we had wanted! Fantastic space for a relaxed winter weekend with lots of walks and places to explore. The views from the house were incredible as were the surroundings. Close distance to anything you would need and everyone was very sad to have to come home!! Pollyanna couldn’t have been more helpful and we are very grateful to have found such a lovely host and location. Would highly recommend!!

    Cassandra2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re wanting a relaxing retreat away from the hustle and bustle than look no further! Pollyanna’s little cottage is beyond perfection. It offered everything that we wanted, a place to chill whilst still keeping us busy with lots things to do. Close to the beach, national trust areas and lots of adventurous walks to go on! We all absolutely loved our time there to the point my youngest son wants to live there! Haha! Pollyanna and her family are so warming and welcoming and they can’t do enough for you! We are very much looking forward to returning there soon xx

  • Pollyanna and her husband were both lovely and welcoming. The jacuzzi was ready for us when we arrived along with a bottle of fizz in the fridge which was a lovely touch. Pollyanna gave us some fantastic recommendations on places to go in there area and she was super friendly to our dog too. The place itself was stylish and clean and the beds were super comfy (with beautiful bedding). The shower was also really good. We were close to lots of beaches and pretty villages. Would highly recommend The Depot which is 2 min drive away for brunch - the nachos are yummy! We definitely want to come back and next time we’re planning to bring friends as this find is too good not to share.

  • Pollyanna met us and ran through everything in detail. She was very friendly, welcoming and had prepped everything, from setting up the hot tub fire to giving us baking foil for our Christmas dinner! The place was clean and very smart. Clearly a lot of care an attention goes into cottage and it’s surroundings. The kitchen was so well stocked that we were able to cook our Christmas dinner with ease. A wonderful touch was the huge and majestic Christmas tree which made everything very seasonal and homely. I would highly recommend this place and would happily come back. If you are looking for smart, well catered, warm and conveniently located accommodation in North Devon Pollyannas place is ideal!

'A little slice of heaven at Heavenly Heavitree! A sweet two bedroomed cottage with a sitting room and kitchen that was the original coach house in the garden of a Georgian Wing where I live. Cosy and well decorated with original features and use of the garden. Garden is dog proof if you wish to bring your well behaved, well socialised dog that is happy to share the garden with my family and collie.
It's a quiet, self contained cottage with a sofa, tv, wifi, little kitchen with a Nespresso machine, toaster, microwave, a fridge, cooker and dishwasher. There is plenty of storage for bikes in the garage and space to wash out wetsuits and hang them up to dry. There's a bathroom with a bath with an integrated shower and two bedrooms up stairs, one with a Hypnos mattress that is a king (2 meters long by 1.55 wide) and another bedroom with standard size bunk beds. Both rooms have wardrobes and look out over the garden. There's an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer for you to use. There's a sofa bed in the sitting room.
Pilton is a lovely unspoilt part of Barnstaple with beautiful architecture and some ancient buildings. It has two pubs, an Indian takeaway and a very popular fish and chip shop. It is within easy walking distance of the town which has a fantastic theatre, cinema and lots of lively bars, restaurants and independent shops.
  • Cute and cosy cottage situated in a nice quiet area, only a short drive away from the centre of town! Would highly recommend!

    Lauren2020-03-11T00:00:00Z

  • A lovely cosy, warm and quiet cottage a short walk from the town. Katie went the extra mile to ensure we arrived safely and had a comfortable stay. The bed was super comfy. All in all a great base from which to explore Barnstaple and the surrounding area on foot, by bike, public transport or car.

    Anna2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little cottage. It was clean, warm and welcoming. Katie and Dave were so welcoming. The location is perfect for exploring North Devon. We'll most definitely be heading back to Heavitree in the future.

    Luisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • From previous reviews our expectations were high and my wife and I were not disappointed :-) Communication from Kt was excellent, accommodation was ideal for us and fantastic local suggestions contributed greatly to our most enjoyable stay. Importantly for us our dog, Wallace thoroughly enjoyed roaming the extensive enclosed garden. Unfortunately we were only down for 2 days but would definitely recommend ...

    Colin2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really well appointed cottage in the grounds of Katie the owner but away from her house and very private. We had everything we needed in the cottage and were cozy and comfortable. Highly recommended and ideal to explore Barnstaple and the beautiful surrounding coast and countryside

  • What a fantastic, fantastic chalet! If you're thinking twice about it then don't! It's such a great use of a compact space, with thoughtful touches everywhere. I stayed here with three of my friends (3 nights), and we couldn't have asked for more. We didn't have the best of luck with weather, but the view was stunning despite this and we felt so lucky to be here! Location: Just a 5 minute walk straight onto Croyde beach, enough car parking space on the chalet premises, stunning stunning view of the area with great outside space. Walking distance to local pubs (we really enjoyed The Thatch). Kitchen: Fully kitted out, we felt right at home and did not struggle with any of our home cooked meals and really enjoyed using the bbq too despite the wind and rain. Bedroom: tastefully decorated, thoughtful touches such as mirrors, shelf and drawer storage, and cupboards in each room. Slightly on the small side, but made up for by how comfortable the beds were. Bathroom: sparking clean, and great storage space for four girls (and that says a lot)! Good shower with toiletries provided. Lounge: we were obsessed with the log fire, a fantastic touch to an already cosy chalet. And Justin was kind enough to leave plenty of log for our entire stay. We also really appreciated the UBE sound speaker. (Although we brought our own games, some board games for rainy days might be an added touch!) Host: Justin was fantastic. He is extremely knowledgeable about the area, and gave us plenty of recommendations about the area and surroundings, and made the whole checkin process a breeze. He was sure to make our stay as enjoyable as possible and I can't fault his hospitality! Thank you Justin and Nancy - hope you're ready for our return at some point in the future! Sorry to leave such a long review, I just loved this place! (As a side note: if you happen to go surfing then please check out surfing Croyde Bay, can't recommend them enough!)

  • Fantastic location, so close to the beach. And it’s a lovely place to stay even in the winter as it has everything you need including a log burner making it very cosy!

    Lizzie2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing place. The chalet and the views are true to the photos, if not even better! The view is absolutely fantastic, and the chalet is a perfect place to enjoy it from.

    Scott2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful chalet with jaw dropping views over Croyde beach and the ocean. Such a quick walk down to the beach and dunes. We enjoyed the playground in Croyde (in car park to town), delicious ice cream from the village shop, pub lunch at the Thatch, lunch at The Stores. Great having the log burner in the chalet & a well kitted out kitchen to make home cooked meals. Great help having the travel cot & highchair at the chalet so we didn’t need to bring ours. We had the most magical winter holiday. Thank you Justin & Nancy!

    Camilla2020-01-22T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy clean place with the best view! The chalet has everything you could need and more. Thoughtful welcome touches and great communication with Justin were appreciated. Really great place to stay no matter the weather. Would love to come back.

  • We had a wonderful stay at the Chalet we couldn’t have asked for any more! Such a beautiful location and close to everything you could need. The chalet is comfortable , stylish and super clean. We loved it as did the dogs!

    Abi2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Justin’s place absolutely delivers, whoever stays here will not be disappointed. Stunning views, and the fire place during winter’s stormy weather is the best. Everything was easy, relaxed and great communication. We definitely recommend to stay here.

  • We stayed here in December with my son and his girlfriend and our small dog! It was perfect for the 5 of us - the location couldn’t be better. Just a quick walk down to the beach for a surf, or down the Thatch pub for the best food! Even in the bad weather it’s lovely to look out over the sea from the cosy lounge! The cabin was really modern with loads of nice surprises (I was even excited by the hoover!). Great value and great communication from the hosts before and during our trip. Couldn’t recommend this any more!

The Barn at Port Farm is a unique and generous studio space. Originally a threshing barn, but recently converted by the owners into a modern space which respectfully retains the character and proportions of the original barn. The eclectic mix of quirky, vintage objects and art give the Barn its unique character. A perfect hideaway for couples looking for something a little out of the ordinary.
The double height ceiling, woodburning stove and comfy corner sofa adorned with warm snuggly throws gives the lounge area a cosy feel. In the summer months the south facing double french doors can be opened wide. The open plan layout leads you below the mezzanine into a bright modern kitchen with a generous kitchen island / breakfast bar. You'll find the kitchen fully equipped with everything you may need during your stay. Situated on the mezzanine floor, the beautiful bedroom is tucked under the old beams of the original A frame, which means there is restricted headroom to the sides. Above the bed is a large velux window allowing guests to do a little stargazing before drifting off to sleep. So if you're bored of the beige and the blah! of the average country holiday cottage, come to The Barn @ Port Farm, it really is something different.
Situated on the outskirts of Bideford in North Devon, a small port town on the estuary of the River Torridge. It's the perfect escape for anyone wishing to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
  • The Barn is an idyllic, peaceful and quirky getaway. The Barn is perfect for those who want some relaxation and a beautiful base to go off and explore. Myself, partner and our dog thoroughly enjoyed our stay and loved all of Lucy's touches to the barn. Thank you!

    Naomi2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely weekend break in Lucy’s barn. Beautifully kept and super clean. Loved the log fire. Thanks for a lovely stay.

    Darren2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t recommend this stay enough. Lucy was so welcoming and when we arrived she had lit the fire for us and made it so warm and welcoming! Brilliant cooking facilities and a big Tesco just a 2 minute drive away. I could go on forever but I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again if I were to return to Bideford!

    Olivia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great couple of days spent at The Barn. Loved the style and little finishing touches. Log burner was perfect for the stormy weather! Couldn’t fault the cleanliness. Thank you to Lucy for a lovely welcome when we arrived. Will be back! X

    Andy2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • Lucy was a great host, very helpful and really friendly. The Barn is amazing, it’s so cosy and warm with everything you need for a relaxing break away. It’s so stylishly decorated with lots of little quirky bits and pieces. We were staying through storm Ciara which blew a tree down and cut the power off, Lucy & Bob were so accommodating offering us a refund but we wanted to stay so they gave us masses of wood for the stove and plenty of candles, it made the weekend! I’m sure we’ll be back.

    Claire2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little place, amazingly quiet location. We didn't really go out and explore as we stayed in to enjoy the accommodation. The kitchen was a total joy to cook in (added bonus of Tesco about 2 min drive from the barn). Highly recommended indeed!!

  • Best Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in ! You will not want for anything in terms of facilities in the suite, and Clares’s hospitality and welcome pack will set you up for your stay. I arrived on Shrove Tuesday and a Pancake Mix was thoughtfully left for me. Yummy ! Appreciated the use of one of their bikes and did forty miles of the Tarka Trail, and got to watch a kingfisher. Brilliant stay, super place, fantastic hosts. Thank you.

  • A cozy and quiet place with a nice garden and great views of the surrounding farm land. We found this to be a great place to relax - the only sounds you could usually hear were the sheep (which were quite fun to listen to). The Great Knightacott Flat is very well equipped and breakfast items were provided for the first morning (thank you, Jacky!).

  • Such a beautiful lodge so private and very tranquil. Took two small dogs with us and loved the fact the garden is completely secure and there was no way for them to get out made being in the hot tub even more relaxing not worrying where they were in the garden. Brilliant facilities and thoughtful little touches such as tea, coffee, sugar and milk for the humans and a towel, bowl and treats for the dogs! Definitely will be coming back!!

    Kaimana2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing! The lodge is beautiful in every way, the location is perfect if you want to get away somewhere quiet for a couple of nights and the village/Towns nearby have everything you could want!

    Katie2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • This was a special weekend, so we didn't mind spending a little more than we would normally, but it turned out to be entirely worth it. The 'lodge' was one of three but they were all positioned so as to afford good privacy. It was spotlessly clean, spacious and very well fitted out, especially the bathroom, with all high quality fittings, all working properly and everything we needed, including some 'freebies' to make us welcome, like milk and coffee for the cafetière. All the towels and sheets were provided, and bonus bath robes. The hot tub was such a great addition. We weren't sure if it was working during the winter but it was and provided a real treat after a 20K walk on Sunday. We had cause to contact the owner Nick and he responded quickly and helped us out as fast as he could. We are definitely going back!

    John2020-01-20T00:00:00Z

  • This was an amazing break for us whilst we had little time but this was a fantastic break for us (a family of four). Clare and Brian made us feel very welcome and at home. Thanks a lot for all the little details, thoughtful touches, lots of extras and the best breakfast ever!

  • Clare and Brian were wonderful hosts! They made sure we had all we needed. Lots of food an extra bonus! Fruits, eggs, cereals, bread, spreads, chocs and biscuits. Variety of drinks from milk, juice, tea, hot choc, and even cappuccino! We enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!

    Yuko2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • So, Clare has really thought about what makes a great stay. The space is excellent, with lots of thoughtful touches, I slept in the cabin, which was just gorgeous! The essentials were very well done, an extremely comfy bed, great quality linens and furnishings and a bath to die for! The welcome pack (especially the chocolate!) provided was very gratefully received too. Clare was very welcoming, and as she was available, kindly offered to pick me up from the train station. She was very responsive to messages. I wouldn’t hesitate to book again, so if you’re looking for a stay in Barnstaple, don’t look any further than here!

  • Clare's place is fabulous! My friend and I only needed to stay for one night, and we arrived late and checked out early, but the visit couldn't have been better. My friend stayed in The Cabin, and said it had everything she needed. My room was great too, and we both commented that we slept well in the comfortable beds. A highly recommended place to stay!

This spacious, light and airy double bedroom will not disappoint. It is tastefully decorated, with views of the town and the conveinience of being a stone's throw from Barnstaple's amenities. You will receive a warm welcome from myself, my two daughters and our little dog and will endeavour to make your stay as happy, relaxing and as comfortable as possible.
The top floor of my home is exclusively for Airbnb guests.
I live on a quiet road of predominately Victorian homes, with the convenience of being 5-10 minutes walk into Barnstaple town.
  • My first air B&B experience and what a great start!!!! A lovely stay with Fiona and her family. The home was very clean and beautifully presented with everything you could possibly need. I was made to feel very welcome in Fiona's home. Great location, close proximity for Barnstaple town and the ND NHS Trust. I would highly recommend a stay here! :)

Our modern and cosy private room is part of a lovely Edwardian town house. We are 5 minutes walk from the centre of the pretty estuary town of Bideford and 3 miles from the long surfing beach of Westward Ho! Close to many of North Devon’s beautiful beaches and attractions. Bideford has the Tarka Trail on one side and the South West Coastal Path on the other linking us to the idyllic villages of Instow and Appledore.
Bideford is full of great coffee places and restaurants, independent shops, the Burton Art gallery and museum, a large park, and ferry link to Lundy Island.

It is quiet and off road but an easy walk into Bideford. There were lots of thoughtful touches which I appreciated. I definitely want to stay here again next year. Thank you so much Caroline. • The room was tastefully furnished, very clean and private with the bonus of the wet-room bathroom and kitchen facility. It’s not far from the town centre and quay and you can be sure of a warm welcome from Caroline.

  • I had a lovely 1 night stay here for work at the college which was a 5 minute walk away. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot, fluffy towels and a kettle with amenities in the room. All I could ask for. I couldn’t connect to the Wifi but there was a note in the room explaining it was temperamental and to ask if I had any issues. I was only there for a couple of hours so it wasn’t necessary for me to have Wifi for that time. Caroline met me, and was warm and welcoming. As others have mentioned, the annexe is separated from the house by a curtain so this may not be for everyone.

Quick responses when we were delayed in traffic for our arrival and great local knowledge tips and maps made our two day stay stress-free and relaxing. The rooms/apartment itself is self-contained with a large bedroom, dressing area and bathroom as well as separate living/dining, so it's quiet and private with spectacular views across the beach and Braunton. I live here with my husband Jim and dog Stella . We have 4 children with the last one having recently left home. We enjoy being close to the countryside, beaches and the towns as we enjoy the outdoor life so spend our free day’s cycling , running and dog walking as well as bodyboarding ( Westward Ho! Croyde, Saunton). There are plenty of wonderful places to visit and explore. Our house is a chalet bungalow that has been completely refurbished inside giving it a light, airy and cosy interior.
The bedroom is bright and spacious with a wardrobe and hangers. The en-suite is neatly hidden away. There is tea/coffee and biscuits in your room as well as a mini fridge. There is access to the kitchen upon request. There is separate lounge beside the bedroom which you are welcome to share/use. It has a large sofa as well as Sky tv and dogs a are welcome to join you too. There are table and chairs outside in the garden for your use.
We live in a quiet neighbourhood with friendly neighbours. We are positioned off the main road in a small cul-de-sac, set back in the corner. You can walk/cycle down the road ( a minute walk away) along a farm track which takes you onto the Tarka trail. Turn left and you can walk/cycle along the track or around the outskirts along by the estuary towards Instow/ Bideford ( lovely pubs/ restaurant). Turn right and you can go to Fremington Quay ( great coffee shop) and Barnstaple. On a good day there are spectacular views across to Braunton and Saunton Sands.
  • A great welcome, all you need to be comfortable in your room, fluffy towels, nice toiletries in the en suite, great hairdryer - better than most hotels & the small fridge means I could have fresh tea, coffee & milk, with a variety of biscuits, & I kept my little dog’s wet food chilled overnight. Dog friendly sofa covers meant she could be sat on the sofa next to me, after drying her off with a towel. I took my dogs bed & she was very happy in my room. Lovely & quiet, I really feel like I properly relaxed this weekend. Thank you.

  • You can expect a wonderfully warm welcome, whether Yana is here or not. I was met by a lovely neighbour to let me in & show me around in Yana’s absence. Fresh flowers in my room, a huge jug of fresh milk & orange juice, in my own fridge, 4 different types of biscuits, & a generous bowl of fruit are just a few of the many personal touches to Moshe you feel at home. Yana had written a welcome note just got me, about nearby dog walks, places to eat out etc. Whilst here, any questions I had, were responded to quickly & with enthusiasm. This lady has a wonderful house & is a superb host! I wholly recommend a stay here. I extended mine, I loved it so much! 😁

Little Hoops is our cosy converted barn with original beams and underfloor heating throughout making it ideal for a break away at any time. We lovingly restored it with our family a number of years ago and have enjoyed making it a special place to stay, we often joke that it is far nicer than our own home! The barn has a courtyard garden with table and chairs and is close to the local pub, The Crealock Arms, the coast and all amenities you could need for an enjoyable stay away!
Our barn is a cosy and comfortable space which has its own small courtyard at the rear of the property. The stable door opens into the spacious lounge/ kitchen area both with original beams and thick stone walls. Leading off from this space is the bathroom which has full size bath with separate shower over. The bedroom is accessed by three steps up from the lounge area and has ample storage space. Little Hoops has slate flooring throughout, all of which has underfloor heating making this a perfect place to stay whatever the weather. Hot water is plentiful. Both the bedroom and lounge have TV with freeview and DVD players. WIFI fibre is available however we cannot guarantee a good connection due to our location, mostly it is ok but occasionally the signal is poor.
Little Hoops is in a glorious part of North Devon, close to the coast and many attractions such as Clovelly, Hartland, Westward Ho, Rosemoor Gardens, Appledore and the Tarka Trail. Exmoor, Dartmoor, Bude and Ifracombe are within an hours drive making them perfect for a day out. Slightly further are Port Isaac, Padstow and Boscastle but still worth a visit.
  • Lovely barn, totally as described and beautifully clean and warm. Great space for two guests, comfy and well stocked for self catering.

  • A beautiful and very welcoming barn with loads of character. The place was spotlessly clean and very cosy. It is an ideal place for getting out and about in the area whist it has everything you may need in the kitchen when you get back from a day out exploring. Would definitely recommend this barn to friends and family. Owners were very quick with responding to messages with clear and helpful information and obviously take a lot of pride in maintaining and cleaning their property.

  • A lovely and comfortable little place, very cosy and well equipped. I was working in the area and although Little Hoops is in a small village, Bideford is only a few miles away. As is the nearby stunning coastline.

    Ingrid2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Chris' place is warm, welcoming with thoughtful touches and a truly beautiful cottage throughout. Would highly recommend staying here.

    Isabel2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really warm, cosy and clean place, everything I needed for a couple of nights stay while working in the area.

    Harvey2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • The sweetest and cosiest place we stayed at. Would totally recommend.

IT IS WITH A HEAVY HEART THAT WE HAVE DECIDED TO CLOSE THE BARN FOR MARCH AND APRIL 2020. PLEASE DO GET IN TOUCH THOUGH IF YOU HAVE ANY ENQUIRIES Welcome to our newly launched for 2019 luxury Nordic-inspired retreat a short distance from the popular coastal communities of Croyde, Putsborough and Woolacombe, with all the sights and activities they have to offer. The Barn is the perfect place to explore, unwind and relax away from it all.
The Barn offers a Scandinavian-style open-plan living space with a log-burning stove and pitched clad ceiling giving a feeling of space and light. Double doors lead to a garden, with an additional south-facing patio area at the front for morning breakfasts. That is, of course, if you can bring yourself to leave the beautifully decorated bedroom, which features a super king bed, feather pillows and duvets finished with White Company linen ensuring a blissful night’s sleep. The generous bathroom boasts a freestanding bath with a separate shower and underfloor heating. The fully stocked kitchen will include tea, coffee, bread, butter e.t.c however as part of our onsite concierge service we are happy to supply breakfast items if you require anything in particular do get in touch. There is parking for two cars on a private drive. Whether you stay for a few nights or a few weeks, our contemporary, cosy hideaway will leave you feeling relaxed and revived with a true Nordic feeling of hygge. The Barn also has Amazon Firestick TV and Wifi for those who want to stay connected to the outside world and a music system. Please note - we are currently not on fibre internet, so achieve about a 6-8MB download which is sufficient for watching TV and general internet surfing. While we respect your privacy at all times, please note that The Barn is set within our property and the garden is still growing, so at this time the garden is not 100% private. Children Although The Barn is set up to sleep two people, we can organise for a travel cot to be set up in the bedroom on request, along with highchairs etc. Dogs Well behaved dogs are welcome at The Barn; however, we do have a small child and our own dog, so we would ask they are kept under control at all times including in the back garden, which is not fully enclosed at this time. We also ask that all dogs are not allowed on the bed. Please let us know at the time of booking if you would like to bring a dog: there is a one-off fee of £25 (with the best will in the world it takes extra time to clean thoroughly after a dog has been to stay) we can also provide beds, bowls etc. on request. Just let us know and we’ll have it all catered for. Cleaning Fee: Please note that if you are staying for two nights only there will be a £25 charge for cleaning, I can only request this after the time of booking as airbnb at this time do not have a facility to accommodate this.
North Devon is a county of contrasts, from the wilds of Exmoor, the magical woodlands that hug the coastline, the quaint villages of the coast to the beaches which are a haven for surfers this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty something to offer everyone. The Barn is perfectly placed to explore it all. After a busy day you can return to your cosy sanctuary, listen to the owls and experience some of the best stargazing England has to offer.
  • The barn is just wonderful. Meticulously clean, really well furnished and designed. The sofa, bathtub and bed are amazing. The location is great with lots of walks and local pubs nearby. Amazing welcoming and friendly hosts. Would definitely stay here again. Xxx

  • Just returned home from a lovely weekend at this amazing beautiful barn which had gorgeous stylish interiors. The barn Is incredible with beautiful surroundings and was spotlessly clean...we were made very welcome by Sam and Ted and only needed to ask if we needed anything..The barn's in an excellent location and close to many beautiful beaches..it was the perfect relaxing stay for my husband and I and our dog storm who enjoyed having a run around with Kodak. We would highly recommend this to anyone who's looking for relaxing break away and will look forward to revisiting this beautiful place again in the near future..thank you Sam and Ted for being great hosts xx

  • We had a wonderful stay in North Devon, the Barn was amazing and meant that even being stuck inside on a rainy afternoon was enjoyable! Our dog really enjoyed the heated floor and the log burner :)

    Chlo2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The barn is an absolutely idyllic place to stay. It is perfectly positioned in the Devon countryside but is well within reach of stunning beaches and towns such as Ilfracombe and woolacombe. Sam and Ted are the perfect hosts and made us feel so welcome. We would not hesitate to return . The barn itself is immaculately clean , tastefully decorated and has a number of great features including a powerful shower, big bath and all the kitchen facilities you will need during your stay. The big cosy sofa and the log burner also create the perfect cosy corner for relaxing.

    Jessie2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Samantha’s barn blew all of our expectations away. First of all it was bigger than we expected, with loads of room and a comfy living space. The facilities were spot on with a fully equipped kitchen. The whole place was spotless and the bathroom was quite the cherry on top. Beautiful huge bath and lovely shower. Their local suggestions were fantastic including the Rock Inn which you must go to. We were also recommended to go to Dulverton and a walk around Lynton which were both fantastic and only 45 minutes to an hour away. An amazing holiday we won’t forget. Thanks again!

    Millie2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic place for a weekend get away, very modern with all of the amenities you could want and or need. Great friendly hosts. Will be back again

I have a stylish Victorian Terrace in a quiet dead-end street close to the town centre. The room is next to a bathroom that is for your sole use (I have another bathroom on the ground floor through the kitchen). You are welcome to use the sitting room and kitchen. I enjoy interacting with guests but will also respect privacy when required. There is a good library with novels and children's books, plus a box of toys in the sitting room for those with children.
The street is resident's only parking. That means if you have a car you will need to drop your belonging off and then find parking elsewhere. There are options available (paid and free) within 5-10 minutes walk of the house. I provide all the things needed for a basic continental style breakfast and tea/coffee is availabel all the time.
Barnstaple is a lovely market town close to the coast where there are wonderful beaches that are particularly popular with surfers. The town has a cinema, theatre and main shopping street as well as an out own town retail centre. My favourite place for coffee is the coffe shop inside 'The Bike Shed', opposite the newly renovated museum by the river.
  • Beautiful house in an ideal location near to the town centre. Welcoming friendly host.

    Janet2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a very comfortable few days here. Everything I needed was available and the location is so convenient, yet the house is in a quiet location. Fran was lovely and I enjoyed meeting her.

    Christopher2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Fran is a nice and warm person and a good host. Location is great close to town centre with local food outlets with in walking distance. Got some useful local tips from Fran. House is clean and tidy with a nice cozy room. Loved being there. Definitely recommend the host and the nice house..

  • Lovely host, terrific space and very comfortable. Highly recommend!

    Oliver2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • We've had a lovely stay and Fran has been the greatest host we could have asked for. The Victorian Terrace is located at 5 min. walking distance from the heart of the town. The room is big and cosy with good storage space, the bed and the shower are awsome. More than that, having breakfast every morning, having access easily in and out and Fran discreetly being there for us, made us feel like home, with a friend by our side. We highly recommend the place. Thanks, Fran.

    Adrian2019-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • It was an exceptional stay in all aspects. Fran certainly is a super host. She is a very friendly persona and walked the extra mile to offer things for our convenience. The place was very clean, nice and quiet. The room was spacious and cosy. It only took a 5 - 10 mins to walk to most of the places in the Barnstaple town, from the Fran's place. If we visit Barnstaple again, we will definitely choose Fran's please without a doubt.

  • A great campsite to unwind away from the hustle and bustle . Mark is a fantastic host nothing is too much trouble

    Angela2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We spent two days is this beautiful and relaxing countryside with woodland, wildlife and lots of walks to chose from, magnific scenery and the beaches all few miles away. The host was super helpful, friendly, warm, made us feel very welcome. The camping was really nice too, lots of space for everyone, not fancy but simple and with all the necessary including warm showers and a nice cup of tea. The highlight was the amazing sky we had above us in the evening, don't think I've ever seen so many stars, breathtaking. It was the perfect gate away from the city back to nature and we totally loved it, highly recommend.

    Rui2018-07-15T00:00:00Z
  • Relaxed vibe, beautiful nature all around, wild meadows, wild flowers, enchanting woods, nostalgic caravans from the 1980's in great condition, comfy beds, warm shower, proper relaxation

  • Pure and rustic camping dies what it says on the label. Our pitch was vast, and there was spring water on tap. Mark was very welcoming, he went the extra mile and then some to make us feel at home. We will definitely be back!
