Places to stay in Cubert
Our attractive, modern, ground floor coastal apartment, with its own decking, for one or two guests, enjoys magnificent sea views, is a stone's throw from Perranporth's wide, golden, sandy surfing beach and is very close to village amenities. It contains everything you will need for a comfortable, relaxing stay. Wi-Fi throughout. Central heating. No cleaning fees. Parking to rear. The coastal footpath is just outside our front gate. You will never tire of the view; it will keep you spellbound.
If there is a one night vacancy showing on the calendar, between other bookings, please message to enquire about availability. The whole apartment is centrally heated, double glazed and has Wi-Fi throughout. I don't charge a cleaning fee and we also don't charge extra for electricity or for the central heating. Located here in glorious Perranporth, Cornwall, enjoying the most incredible far reaching views, with a landscape which is constantly changing, yet we are only a stone's throw away from the beach and everything which the village has to offer - eateries, shops, bars, pubs etc. You can walk everywhere. We have provided rattan chairs, a table, and full length loungers on the apartment's decking, where you can dine alfresco, all the while drinking in the amazing view laid out before you. Early risers can experience a Perranporth sunrise from a decking viewpoint. We even provide throws and a hot water bottle to keep you warm and toasty should you wish to sit outside when the weather turns chillier. There are windbreaks, seating and mats for the beach located in the main hall. From the decking, step through the French doors into the main living area. Here we have a large flat screen smart television with NETFLIX for our guests, DVD player with dvds, dining table and two chairs, a very comfortable leather two seater recliner sofa, coffee tables and a fully equipped kitchen area. There are ample cupboards and worktop surfaces with fridge (including a small freezer compartment), microwave, electric oven, ceramic hob, toaster and kettle. The apartment is equipped with stainless steel saucepans, Pyrex dishes, white tableware, a selection of various glasses (wine/champagne/tumblers), cutlery, place-mats, tea towels and many other sundries. We have provisioned it with fresh milk, tea, instant coffee, cafetière with ground coffee, drinking chocolate, biscuits and condiments. Dish washing, cleaning items, bin liners, J-cloths etc are kept beneath the sink. Additionally, there is an iron, ironing board, and portable clothes dryer. We have also put out binoculars, board games and playing cards and a selection of relevant books about Cornwall and paperbacks to keep you entertained. There are lots of leaflets in the apartment detailing Cornish attractions, including discount vouchers too, along with a set of tide tables so you can keep an eye on what the sea is doing. I am more than happy to drop off a daily newspaper for you as I always nip down to the village to get my own first thing in the morning. The apartment's main front door is located within this area. Walking through to the bedroom there is a wardrobe with plenty of hangers, lots of drawer space, bedside cabinets with matching lamps and a king size bed made up with a king size duvet and attractive bed linen. In addition there is a wall mounted Smart TV with DVD player (there are some DVDs in the apartment should you wish to watch them) on which the internet can also be accessed and NETFLIX for our guests. Additionally, there is a hairdryer and bedside clock radio. The fully tiled en-suite shower room, with heated towel rail, has an excellent power shower and towels (one bath and one hand towel per person) provided, along with various toiletries eg shampoo, conditioner, shower gel etc. We have our own private car park to the rear of the main property. Check out is at 11am but we are more than happy for guests to leave their car for a few extra hours after this time so that they can eke out their break just a little longer before their return journey. Just ask. From our apartment you can look across to the exact spot on the cliffs opposite where Winston Graham wrote the novels Ross Poldark and Demelza in the 1940's. Of course, most of the filming for the television series Poldark takes place around Cornwall, and hereabouts. The beach is famed for its wide expanse of golden sand, which is cleaned regularly throughout most of the year. It's a tremendous walk to the other end of the beach (just watch out for the incoming tide!) or to meander along the sandy dunes. It's great for surfing, with a surf school practically on the doorstep (closed during the winter months, although there are others in the village open all year round). Lifeguards patrol the beach for your safety during the busier months. Storm watching can be wild and exciting in the winter months, especially if the tides are exceptionally high, when the beach takes on a very different character. Watch all the excitement from inside without getting cold and wet outside! Access to the coastal footpath is practically on our doorstep and it's a glorious walk to St Agnes, which is about four miles away across the cliffs. Or to Holywell Bay in the other direction. The Watering Hole, located on the beach itself, is a very popular bar/restaurant to view some of our amazing sunsets over the ocean. Perranporth Golf Club, enjoying breathtaking views up and down the coast, is one of Cornwall's finest links courses and is only a 1.4 mile drive away. Perranporth Tennis Club has six grass courts and three newly resurfaced floodlit hard courts. It is open to visitors and is only a 0.5 mile walk away from us. The nearest riding stables are just under two miles from us by road. The local doctors' surgery and Boots the Chemist are extremely close, should you require their services during your stay. The bustling cathedral city of Truro is only nine miles away (try The Heron Inn overlooking the Truro River at Malpas, which is just a couple of miles drive/walk from the City centre); the famous Eden Project 26 miles and St Ives 24 miles distant (hint: drive to Lelant Saltings or St Erth then take the train right into St Ives, a very memorable scenic railway journey, albeit quite short, as driving around St Ives can be quite challenging). If you're a Doc Martin fan then why not go to Port Isaac which doubles as Portwenn in the series. We love having lunch at The Budock Vean Hotel (TR11 5LG) at Mawnan Smith, 21 miles away, followed by a walk through the beautiful grounds down to The Helford River (think Daphne du Maurier's Frenchman's Creek). Their Cornish cream afternoon teas are such a treat too: large, homemade scones, with lashings of Cornish cream and Boddington's strawberry jam, along with a selection of delicious homemade cakes. Travelling widely over the years has given us an insight into what travellers like and expect. We have, therefore, used this knowledge when setting up the apartment for our guests. However I am always very open to any suggestions to make your stay with us special and memorable. If you think we've forgotten something, therefore, please don't hesitate to let us know. We don't charge a cleaning fee either. So come and share our view with us. We guarantee you won't be disappointed. Please also see our other Airbnb listing for four people: www.airbnb.co.uk/rooms/19563456. This apartment is located on the opposite side of Bay Court's main hallway
We have travelled fairly extensively over the years and we both think that the beach here at Perranporth has got to be one of the very best beaches in the world. Come and experience it for yourself.
  • Our stays at Beth's apartment was lovely, the view was amazing. The apartment was clean and tidy. Beth was welcoming and on the phone if needed. Will definitely return one day.

    Alice2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The views from the deck are spectacular. Even in wintery blustery weather it was a stunning place to be. Everything we needed had been thought of. It was great.

    Natalie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful time. Beth had thought of everything we needed and more.

  • Amazing place to stay! Warm welcome and a lovely view. Would recommend to anyone, even in January 😊

    Hubert2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Beth's place for one night for my boyfriends birthday, on arrival their were thoughtful touches of confetti and napkins saying happy birthday and even a card. The apartment was very clean and homely it felt like we had been there forever! Lovely area and lovely hosts, we plan to go back in the future probably in the summer for a few days as it was so nice this time.

    Jemma2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Easy communication, thoughtful touches such as flowers, birthday confetti and biscuits to enjoy. Well stocked cupboards, ideal for self catering. Within easy walking distance of local shops, restaurants and beach. Perhaps the best feature is the view. Endless hours could be lost gazing out to sea.

    Samantha2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great place and location. Really nice place with lots of lovely touches. The host was extremely kind and helpful.

In a quiet lane, just a pebble’s throw from the perfect, sandy beach of Porth, Wren’s Nest is a former sail loft which has been tastefully furnished and decorated and makes a wonderful coastal bolt hole to escape to. Quality hotel- grade bedding provided.
**OFF ROAD PARKING NOW AVAILABLE RIGHT NEXT TO THE BEACH** Leave the parking nightmare to others! Wrens Nest is a perfect example of an 18th century traditional Cornish fisherman's cottage- small but perfectly formed. They would have mended their nets with the boats pulled up outside and slept upstairs. It really is very small- think cabin-style but who cares with miles and miles of sandy beach and Atlantic coast outside. It's set just back from the beach, protected from winter storms in a little mews with 3 other cottages. There are 1.5 bedrooms upstairs- 1 standard double and 1 cabin style bed not suitable for a large adult (2'6 x 5'9) plus a double sofabed in the lounge. It's not recommended for 3 adults or very large adults. Important note re bathroom- It's old school. There is currently a small bathtub with enamel jug for rinsing off. No shower. There is a shower attachment but it's not very effective. We have always enjoyed this traditional cottage bathing experience but there have been a few comments from guests missing a shower. We are looking into this for the future.
Porth beach is safe and family-friendly, with a small coastal café, an excellent boutique and coffee shop, 2 traditional pubs (within 5 mins walk of the cottage) a deli up the road and world class restaurants nearby. Porth is perfectly placed on the North Coast between Padstow, Watergate Bay and Newquay. Padstow and Watergate Bay are sports and foodie hotspots. Less well-known- Newquay is undergoing a food renaissance with the arrival of Rick Stein and many new independent cafés and seafood restaurants. Watergate and Newquay's Fistral Beach are some of the best surfing spots in the UK and Watergate is also great for kiteboarding.
  • We had a lovely few days in this lovely cottage so close to a beautiful beach. It was equipped everything that we needed more a comfortable stay. Nothing was too much trouble for the hosts. We would love to return one day

  • A lovely little cottage right on the beach at Porth.

    Jonny2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • It’s exactly as described, a very cute cottage within a stones throw of the beach (which is dog friendly in the winter but not summer) Our hosts communication was great and we would recommend it.

    Simone2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay over the valentines weekend. Great hosts and lovely property - can’t wait to come back soon!

    Asiri2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great weekend break at this lovely little cottage. Perfect location for long beach and coast path walks.

    Deborah2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • If your spirit of adventure, and wonder are what you seek to stoke, this is the place for you. The quaint cottage offers only what you need and everything is within your reach. The beach is a stones throw from the door, and with the windows open at night the ocean, and rain will sing you sleep. The small kitchen, living space and heater keep the cozy vibes going as you drink coffee or tea and talk about your hikes and explorations. Gabi has gone to great lengths to only offer you what is needed at this place. So get here if you can!

    Gabriel2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very pretty little fisherman's cottage right next to a lovely beach. Gabriella, the host, went out of her way to make our stay perfect with an extremely kind act. The double bed is very comfortable and luxurious and I personally love that there is a bath rather than shower as I think if people want the 'authentic' experience, best to enjoy and roll with it. Sunday carvery pub lunch in the local 'Mermaid' on the beach was packed with happy families. A myriad of beaches and coastal walks in easy reach.

    Clare2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful little cottage, perfectly sized for a couple. Will stay again in the future!

Secluded, self contained, 1 bedroom apartment in our home by the sea. Bedroom, bathroom (shower), living area with kitchen. Living room with TV (Netflix, iPlayer ...) sofa, dinning table & chairs, kitchen (hob, oven, dishwasher, fridge & freezer.). Bathroom with shower, sink & loo. Bedroom with king size bed, wardrobes. WiFi, USB ports, Bluetooth speaker. The flat has private parking by it's own entrance (key code access). Not suitable for babies or children and we are keeping it pet free.
It's a cliff top house, overlooking the sea and beach, on the edge of the village we love, Perranporth. To get the great sea views in the photos you do need to step outside the flat and go up the stairs to the top deck, that you can use anytime. From the flat you do have a limited narrow view of the sea down the side of the house (see current photo 13), but it's worth going up the outside stairs ! From the property, walk down to the beach and Perranporth village with plenty of shops, surf schools, restaurants, pubs and cafes. OR turn left onto the coastal path. St Agnes is a bit under a 90 minute cliff top walk. Dinner and a taxi back is a great evening. The house, including the flat was completed in late 2017. We tried to take on a lot of current "eco" build ideas in that the house is well insulated (triple glazed windows, sheeps wool in the walls), and has most of the internal air continually refreshed, not from vents and gaps, but a ventilation system that gives more filtered and dehumidified fresh air into the building than a traditional property. There is some more obvious tech in that the light switches give multiple scenes, the bathroom lights are PIR sensor triggered and the blinds are on remote controls.
Droskyn headland is at the south end of Perranporth beach, at the edge of the village.
  • A fantastic Airbnb space. Really well thought through layout which is very practical and clean. The space is bigger than it looks in the photos. Rory is a great host. He was easy to communicate with before we arrived and had provided some nice personal touches to the space. There are sea views from the lounge down the side of the main house and we wrapped up warm to enjoy local Rattler Cyder on the beautiful balcony overlooking the sea, beach and town. We visited Perranporth when it was stormy with sunny spells and still found plenty to do locally! A really lovely place to visit.

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little flat in perfect surroundings. The perfect get away. Rory was super helpful with tips and made us feel at home. We will 100% be back again. Thanks again!

    Samantha2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location, only a few minutes walk to the beach. Beautiful space with everything you need for a get away. The shower is ten out of ten! Rory and Sarah both very welcoming and accommodating. Would highly recommend and will definitely be returning.

    Dominic2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • A very well equipped, elegantly designed comfortable modern flat. Immaculately presented with many additional features such, streaming TV (Netflix, iPlayer etc) Bluetooth speaker, an exceptional shower, high tech insulation & ventilation that keeps one cosy in winter. (we stayed in Feb 2020 during storm Dennis!) and pleasant in summer. Beautiful view from the shared balcony a short walk outside from the flat entrance door down the side of the house & up some stairs. We were sad to leave.

    David2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • I can not fault Rory’s place, it’s beautiful, clean, open, and comfortable! Great value for price, and Rory was so lovely and helpful to us! Location was great too, with amazing views.

    Megan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay. The place was really cool and clean, and the area was much better than we expected with plenty to do. The pub tips were brilliant and we enjoyed the food. When the storm hit we had an amazing night in with plenty of entertainment. We’ll definitely be back!

    Mike2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful little apartment which had everything we required! Rory was very helpful and he gave us some nice tips about where to go for food and some nice walks! Check in was super easy, and we really enjoyed our stay! We will be coming back!!!

  • Thank you so much for the pleasent stay. Your house is amazing and we really enjoyed the apartment. Also amazing is the nice view from the roof and the 5 minutes distance to the beach. The apartment has everything you need and is very clean. Especially the comfortable shower gives you an amazing feeling after a walk in the windy beachside. Thanks again. Will come back

  • Awesome little place! Great view and Jill was really helpful!

    Marc2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place! Perfect location. Jill has done a great job at the flat, it is cosy and very clean. I would very much stay there again. Highly recommended!!

    Beatriz2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for having us Jill and all the lovely little touches you left for us to ensure we had a fabulous new year! We loved the apartment! The shower pressure was great, and the shower took no time to warm up! This is a small apartment with a kitchen, oven and hobs, a microwave and kettle and toaster! More than enough for the 4 days whilst we were there. I loved the fact we could also recycle! We had to buy a tin opener whilst in Newquay but that was no problem! One thing I'd have appreciated was a hook on the back of the door just to hang a coat up but we just placed them over the dining chairs! In summer this wouldn't really be an issue. We would 100% return. It was a 20 ish minute walk into Newquay, lovely views of fistral beach and very quiet! Thanks so much!

    Frances2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely weekend staying in this studio flat. The property is very close to Fistral beach for surfing and a 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Newquay for exploring bars/restaurants. We would definitely stay in this apartment again.

  • We had the most lovely stay here. The cottage is so stylish, clean and a great location. The beds were so comfy & waking up in the bright, light bedroom felt like such a treat! Can’t wait to come back!

  • Great cottage, renovated really well. Lovely village and pub. The host was great and we saw him on arrival. The hot tub is a lovely touch. Thank you for a nice stay!

    Harry2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay in this quaint cottage with our two young children. We stayed during the winter and it was very cosy and warm. We didn’t make use of the hot tub but hope to return soon without our children where we will. The location was great for everything we wanted to do. There is a local pub and corner shop but also a Morrison’s not too far away either. We would recommend this beautiful cottage for a little get away!

    Tom2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, welcoming and clean cottage. Everything is as described and the instructions are clear and simple. Quick and helpful responses from Shaun. Thank you :) Highly recommend.

  • The house is so beautiful and perfect for a getaway. 2 mins walk to the nearby pub, little shop that sells the essentials across the road, hot tub, fully functioning kitchen.. the list goes on. Couldn’t recommend enough!

The Studio is situated close to Holywell bay, near Newquay on the north coast of Cornwall with its lovely beaches, the area is great for walking, cycling or just chilling. It is self contained with a comfortable double bed & a bed settee, which is suitable for children, it has its own kitchenette & ensuite bathroom. WE ARE HAPPY TO TAKE DOGS, SUBJECT TO A £5 PER NIGHTCHARGE PER DOG. Please note that although the listing is for 4 people that the studio is only suitable for a maximum 3 adults.
The studio is a completely self contained loft with a small decking area where you may sit & enjoy a glass of wine whilst enjoying the sunshine, it is unfortunately not suitable for disabled or infirm guests, being accessed via an external staircase. It is about 1 mile from Holywell bay & Polly joke cove, both of which you can walk to via National trust footpaths. Newquay & Perranporth are about 5 miles away, whilst Truro is around 10 miles away, Newquay airport has regular flights from many parts of the UK & is about 7 miles away. The studio is very comfortable (we lived in it for 2 years whilst rebuilding our house) although the surrounding grounds are a work in progress, so please don't expect manicured gardens. The studio is an ideal base for walking, swimming, surfing, fishing, wildlife watching & general coastal living. We have bikes for hire at discounted rates for guests of the studio. We have a surf school at Holywell bay for those that wish to learn, Lee the owner has been head lifeguard for over 25 years. * Parking space. * Washing machine. * Tumble Dryer * Freezer compartment We are happy to meet our guests & to make suggestions for places to visit, eat, drink. We will provide a welcome pack for our guests, to include a few essentials for your arrival. We only ask that you accept that we can be extremely busy at times due to having a business to run, we in return will respect your privacy & if you do not wish to interact with us that is perfectly fine. We live in a very wild & beautiful part of Cornwall, the area can be both hot & sunny & also wild & stormy, both beautiful in their own way. Holywell bay has been used as a setting for many films & TV dramas including Die another day (James Bond), Summer in February, Poldark & the recent Jamaica inn tv drama, it is characterised by the twin peaks of Gull (or Carter) rocks & has beautiful golden sands. Polly joke ( or Porth joke) is a beautiful little hidden cove. There are several great pubs & restaurants within walking distance if you should wish to eat out or go for a quiet drink. Buses run on a regular basis from the village which is 10 minutes walk away, there is also a local taxi service.
Although we are only 4 miles from the surf capital of the UK, Newquay, we are in a quiet idyllic area surrounded by nature, you are guaranteed a wonderful nights sleep only to be awoken with bird song. We have footpaths starting almost outside our gate, taking you to our local beaches via the local common, a 350 acre National Trust wildlife haven.
  • Great place would highly recommend

    Richard2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks to Gail and Pete for being great hosts. The studio was exactly as described and a brilliant base to explore the Newquay area of Cornwall with its fantastic beaches. The studio was clean, welcoming and had some lovely touches, we loved their honey from their own bees! The recommendation for The Smuggler’s Rest was spot on, the best fish and chips I can remember eating in years. Thanks for some wonderful Cornwall memories 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    Michelle2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What a great place this is! Ideal for a relaxing retreat with lovely amenities and excellent easy walking in a very scenic part of Cornwall. Pete and Gail were perfect hosts. We'd love to visit again one day!

    Harry2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice affordable loft close to Newquay and beaches. Fresh eggs and bread left by the host were fantastic.

    David2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second visit to "The Loft" and we loved it just as much as the first time. We visited for new year this time (29th Dec to the 5th of January) and Pete and Gail went to the effort of decorating the studio with a tree and lights etc. making it even cosier! Pete and Gail are incredibly welcoming and always close by if you need anything but also are happy to leave you to it, giving you your own space. We love the fact that this place is far enough out that it is quiet and homely while also being close enough to Newquay (about a 10 minute drive) and walking distance from the beach. We would recommend this stay to anyone.. and bring your dog's, they'll love it too!

  • The studio is beautiful and so clean, the extras were a lovely touch. It felt like we were at home and Gail and Pete are both lovely and welcoming, if your looking for a nice place to stay look no further. It’s peaceful and relaxing. Dogs are also welcome which is an added bonus. See you again soon

Built brand new for 2019, The Snug is a cosy self contained 1 bedroom chalet just 50 yards from the cliff tops. It’s a stones throw from Porth beach and the entrance to the legendary Porth Island, where locals and tourist alike gather with their cameras to capture that perfect sunset. Or borrow the Kayak’s for an evening paddle round the island. The Snugg itself is set into the rising hillside giving it the cosy and private feel its name suggests. Search Porth island drone on YouTube.
Cooking facilities are fairly basic, but there’s a microwave/oven combo, and a plug in counter top hob ready and waiting, so there’s everything you need to cook anything from a sneaky bit of toast or a roast dinner. Its primarily 1 bedroom accommodation, but a temporary bed ot travel cot can be provided to go in the living area for a child. The Snug has access the to the shared decking area on the back garden with panoramic views of the island and join use of the hot tub, but it also has its own small, well sheltered decking area right outside the front door. As shown in the pictures, there is table seating too.
The coastal footpath is just the other side of the road running from the island along the cliff top to the famous surfing beach at watergate bay. The sands resort is at the top of the hill and the gym, swimming pool and spar are all open to the public if you fancy some pampering. There is also an excellent physio in residence and a hair salon too. The Mermaid pub is a great place to eat, and has a good menu. It’s just 5 minutes walk. The rear of the pub actually opens out onto Porth beach.
  • Gary's place was amazing. Perfect for a couple's get away. It was super clean, had everything you need. Also little extra touches from Gary was milk, crumpets etc which was nice. This place is super warm for those winter months. What was even better the smart TV with Netflix. We didn't get the chance to use the hot tub, it was abit cold and wind but we had a demo and it was very nice and a good size with loads of functions. We had a parking space too which was ideal. We'll defo be back. 5*s

  • Lovely place to stay! Nice walk to Newquay town and the lovely Porth beach was very close! Gary was very welcoming and friendly. The place was modern and cosy and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay! We would definitely return again! :)

  • Very clean chalet in a great position near the coastal path. The jacuzzi was a nice addition!

  • We have just returned from a lovely weekend stay at the snug. We went with our little sprocker and I have to say it was perfect! When we got there all I did was text Gary to say we had arrived and he was out by my car and telling me where to park within seconds. There was a quick instruction on how to use hot tub, tv, and heating ect. Then we were left on our own until we checked out. The snug is in a fantastic location right next to Porth beach which was perfect for the dog and many surrounding walks. The hot tub was amazing and some brilliant views whilst in the hot tub. We are already looking to book again as it was such a chilled and relaxed weekend. Thankyou Gary.

  • Gary was a fantastic host, with brilliant knowledge of the area. We felt entirely welcomed when we arrived and he went above and beyond to make sure we felt at home during our short stay in Cornwall. Would highly recommend the snug for anybody wanting a cosy escape from reality. 😍

  • Great little hut on the coast. It was so warm and cosy and my husband and I had a great honeymoon. The jacuzzi is next to a main path but was lovely and warm. Would definitely go back again.

    Lottie2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Great place, all very clean and new with the fresh fit out. Exactly how the photos looked. Highlight of mine was the fire! Coolest little gizmo ever and don’t even have to have the heater on for it to work so could even have it on when it isn’t too cold. Great location with your own parking spot with beautiful views over the coast! Great host extremely responsive and all times were as agreed was effortless to arrange and really enjoyed our stay. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

  • Katie’s place is clean and spacious. There are lots of extra touches like blankets and additional heaters for cold days and she put out some cake and fresh flowers for our arrival which was lovely! We enjoyed being walking distance from Holywell Bay and would highly recommend a trip to Healey’s Cider Farm which is a short drive away. Would definitely recommend!

  • It was our second time we have stayed at The Pottery. This time it was with a new host, Katie. She is very friendly, welcoming and accommodating. The communication was fast. Katie lives in the house in front of The Pottery so she was on hand if/when we needed her. The location is superb, a quiet hamlet next to costal paths and beautiful beaches, lovely walks. But to not too far to drive to Perranporth or Newquay. There is a shop, a bakery, a pub and a fish & chip shop nearby. When the weather is warm there is the opportunity to buy freshly grown veg and eggs from houses nearby. The Pottery is compact but has everything that is needed to have a relaxing and cosy stay. The kitchen is well equipped. There are books, dvds and board games to play. Two tv's. There isn't any wifi but 4g works no problem and making calls on a mobile is possible with a good reception. The shower room is clean and modern. The beds are very comfortable. There is plenty of space to put clothing and belongings. The out door space is great to sit in the sun. I would highly recommend a stay here. It is good value and in a beautiful part of Cornwall. We really enjoyed our stay x

  • Adore this lovely cottage and its beautiful location with beautiful walks across some of national trust best countryside. Fantastic welcome to a cottage with everything I could want. It could have been a summers day on Holywell Beach. The cottage was snug and warm during the winter chilly evenings. The cottage has been tastefully decorated since my last stay and was spotlessly clean. Can’t wait for my next visit.

    Liz2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a lovely place to stay. Katie and her partner made us feel so welcome and gave us lots of good tips about things to do nearby. It was a gorgeous short walk to Hollywell the most beautiful beach and very close to the village with such a sweet bakery and great pub. The BNB itself was very clean and the had a well equipped kitchen as well as a great BBQ area. Overall we loved our stay and would definitely come again!

Close to numerous public footpaths and only a few minutes drive to Newquay, Perranporth and Truro. The accommodation consists of a double bed and a small double sofa bed that can be used when needed. Ideal for all the beaches in the area including Perranporth, Fistral and Crantock...also Board Masters.
The accommodation is a cozy bedroom (with its own entrance) with television and an on suite shower room and is ideal for a quiet visit to this beautiful part of the country. The room has shared Wi-fi and shared cleaning facilities with the rest of the house. The accommodation can sleep 4 at a push, but is better suited 2 people or 2 people with children...dogs are welcome but please message first to confirm.
Cubert is a quiet Cornish village with a pub (the Anvil which provides good well priced food), a local bakery run by a local farmer, village shop/post office and a chip shop in the summer. Just up the road is The Smuggles Den pub/restaurant which provides amazing food and runs festivals in the summer. The local beach is Holywell Bay (where Poldark is filmed) which is a 20 minute walk and is ideal for surfing and bodyboarding. Holywell Bay is perfect for families and normally quieter than other local beaches.
  • A really nice place and great hosts. Very private space, with off street parking, and a fridge in room. Would highly recommend!

  • Great place with so many lovely little touches. They were kind enough to let us check in early also. We had a great nights sleep and it’s great value for money :) we have recommended here to our family and will definitely be back. Thank you Darren and Ruth!

    Miri2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect for what we were after, not a bad word to say about the place. Great value for money! The space itself is cosy but also spacious and has absolutely everything you could need. We joked that we could quite easily live in the space. We didn't expect as many amenities as what were provided, such as breakfast bits and bobs, shampoo and conditioner. We were given access to the drive which was really appreciated as we have rather a large truck. It also gave us some sense of security. All of our interactions with Darren and Ruth were lovely - it was nice to be greeted personally rather than picking keys up from a box. The locations is perfect for anyone wanting to be around Newquay/St Agnes/Perranporth. We hope to book again for the summer next year.

    Melissa2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Darren and Ruth were excellent hosts, full of helpful tips about the local area. The Cubbyhole was comfortable and stocked with everything we needed, as well as being in a great location.

  • Dan’s place was everything we wanted & more. We had such a fabulous few days- it rained a lot, but it was so lovely to sit snuggled by the fire & listen to the rain on the windows. We can’t wait to return in the new year!

    Abi2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Dan - what an amazing stay at your beautiful cottage! Comfortable, clean, cosy and perfect location! Everything you could need and want for a lovely weekend away in beautiful Cornwall.

    Sehrish2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing weekend! It was so lovely to have such a homely place stocked with lots of the essentials. The beds were comfy and the evenings by the log burner so cosy. Lots of attention to detail and great location for exploring north Cornwall, We would love to Return in the summer!

    Harriet2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • We were expecting a stunning place but Dan's cottage exceeded our expectations...the home is beautifully furnished with lots of thoughtful touches and probably the best amenities/utensils (I won't spoil all the fab surprises!). Beds are so comfy it was a struggle to get up but a thoughtful 11am checkout helps! Shop, pub and chippy 2 min walk and Crantock beach a 5 min drive. This cottage retained it's cosy old feeling (some low doors!) with a nice contemporary feel, perfect for families/groups. Only suggestion I'd make is - stay for longer than 2 nights, we were pretty sad driving home!

    Becky2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay, Dan was really helpful and available if we needed anything. The location is excellent and the cottage is stunning!

a single room within a family run guesthouse.bathroom shared with just one other room.on the same landing. We have a carpark at the guesthouse available on a first come first served.A large municipal carpark is available just 50 yards from the St Breca.A complimentary continental breakfast is available may through to September. There is no breakfast option during the winter period
Situated in the centre of Newquay we are 2minute walk to the beach ,shops and restaurant.A complimentary continental breakfast is available may through to September.
Newquay is cornwalls most popular beach resort with access to 7 beaches and plenty of bars and restaurants.
  • This is a guest house in the summer months and in the winter is room only which was fine for what I needed. A very small room and a little toilet and shower nearby which was fine as I seemed to be the only one in the building. One tea bag and no milk was a little parsimonious but it was very cheap and clean. Communication was good and finding the key was easy. Pubs and restaurants close by and I recommend the Sailor's Arms (which gives a discount with a CAMRA card) and Indian Summer restaurant which was excellent.

  • A great place with everything you could need close to facilities and beach

    Wendy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Had an amazing stay at James & Louise’s place in Trevella. The caravan is really comfortable with plenty of room and the facilities are more than expected for a van. The fridge/freezer with cool water and ice is a nice touch. The location of the park was ideal for getting around locally with the bus stop located just outside the park. A really nice site to be in as well. We went in November when everything was closed for the period, but park has all the facilities needed when open. Would recommend to anyone to stay with James and Louise, didn’t have any problems and everything was made easy for us. Thanks again for your hospitality!

There is nothing bad about the place and would definitely use it again in the future. We wish we could have stayed longer. Thank you Louisefor letting us use your amazing place.

  • Fantastic flat with everything you could want .Very spacious, clean, fresh and has every amenity you might need. The real star feature is the view .There’s a big window overlooking Fistral Beach and it’s nothing less than stunning. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough .The view gives it a wow factor.

  • Brilliant place. Right next to fistral beach and the quicksilver surf school. Absolutely top notch appliances and furnishings. Perfect view of the beach and waves. 🏄🤘

  • Wonderful place, wonderful location. Ever bit as clean and nice as the pictures! Parking in front is very convenient. Just make sure you rent a small car because space is tight. The only negative would be that the place doesn’t come with essentials like paper towels, limited toilet paper, laundry soap, dishwashing soap, etc. it is probably one of the best equipped kitchens we have been too! Perfect location and place!

    Mike2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment at Fistral is fantastic. It has a second floor Juliette balcony from the main living space that looks out across the whole of the bay; stunning! The apartment has a really generous living, kitchen and dining space with all the amenities one could ask for. Whether you want to chill out and drink wine while cooking for friends, or just slob in front of the good size flatscreen TV, this is a fantastic space. The two bedrooms are generous in size, one with an en-suite shower room and one with access to the main bathroom. Both bathrooms are clean, modern and great. Stunning at any time of year, particularly when autumn tides bash in and out and excellent value for money, Phil’s apartment is superb! As point to note; I am a wheelchair user and this apartment has a lift and generous hallway and door width dimensions, so it is really easy to navigate stress free!

  • We have just had a great holiday staying at this wonderful apartment. The owners have thought of everything. It is equipped with everything you need plus those little extras. Also it was spotless. Tea, coffee and milk waiting after your journey down. It is in an ideal location with the most amazing views and right on the sea front. Fistral beach is a minutes walk away and the main town only 15-20 minutes walk, where there is access to other beaches. In the opposite direction you can walk to Pentire point which is worth seeing. We only used the car to buy groceries, Morrison’s & Salisbury,s are minutes away in the car. There are plenty of eating places to walk to. Whether you want a relaxing holiday, just admiring the views or a walking/exploring holiday, this apartment is the ideal choice. We (myself, and 17 year old son) have had a great holiday and would highly recommend this apartment. I Couldn’t fault this apartment, view is to die for, could look at it all day! Bathrooms in particular were immaculate. Highly recommend for anyone wanting a fabulous holiday in Cornwall! Can’t wait to go back and I wouldn’t hesitate staying at this property again.

  • This little gem is one of the best AirBnb's we have ever stayed in. The view is breathtaking, the location brilliant. The apartment is beautifully appointed and everything has been thought of and catered for. There was drinking ice in the freezer and L'Occitane soaps and lotions at every sink. Not one but two hair dryers, the list goes on.

  • Loved staying at Katy’s place, the accommodation itself was exactly as pictured, somewhat of a rarity for AirBnb and Katy couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, pointed me in the right direction of my favourite bar in Newquay 55 Yards and was made to feel almost like a friend. Very much looking forward to seeing her again.

  • Porth cottage is a beautiful place to stay. We didn’t make the most of the amenities but there’s enough to keep the family busy if you wanted a more restful day. Kids play area, swimming pool and hot tub all on site. The cottage is great and well presented. We are a family of 4 and it accommodated us easily, the rooms are large. There are 2 steps leading to/from the hallway, my 20 month old navigated these easily but it’s something to be aware of if you have a child just learning to walk or if you have a disability. The kitchen is well laid out and the appliances work great, everything is easy to operate. Overall a great place to stay, I would definitely like to visit again!

  • Difficult to find initially as it was dark when we arrived. Best advice is to head straight to Pentire Hotel, but it's the neighbouring building immediately before it on the right hand side. Easy enough to self-check in once we realised the entrance was around the back! The apartment is beautiful , exactly as shown in the photos. Clearly a lot of thought given to the decor which was minimalist but still cosy & beach themed. Very clean, modern appliances & bathroom. We were pleasantly surprised to find a pint of milk in the fridge as well as tea/coffee/sugar which was very much appreciated as we were in need of a cuppa! Bathroom: Loved the rain shower & a personal favourite was the touch mirror. Shampoo conditioner & hand soap were all supplied & fresh towels. Bedroom: Lush soft bed & pillows with option of extra cushions & blankets in the built-in wardrobe. Hairdryer also supplied.

  • My partner and I came for a short break in February. We had a fantastic time at Lychgate Cottage. The whole cottage is super cosy. We were well impressed to find such a well equipped kitchen, had everything we needed and truly felt like home away from home. Apart from that, we also really enjoyed the peace and quiet of the village as well as the cottage. Having the lovely Albion pub next door and the Crantock beach just a short stroll away only added to the wonderful experience we had. We hope to come again some time.

Beautiful cosy whitewashed cornish cottage tucked away in friendly rural village of Cubert, approx 1.5 miles from Holywell Bay Beach, Newquay. Perfectly located for exploring all of Cornwall. Tastefully furnished and well equipped, with honeysuckle around the front door, low doorways, beamed living space, inglenook with wood-burner.
Parts of the cottage are over 400 years old, the walls are 3 feet thick in places keeping it cool in Summer and cosy warm in Winter. We have gas fired central heating and a wood-burner for added warmth if needed. We provide a bag of logs for the wood burner from October to March. The doorways downstairs are low, if you are tall you need to mind your head! There are steep stairs in the cottage which are not suitable for all.
Friendly, rural village, nice positioned for exploring this stunning stretch of coastline. Local shops nearby include a post office and convenience store, a fish & chip shop, A deli and cafe selling homemade cakes, sandwiches and pasties, local fruit and veg. Restaurants include The Anvil, Offshore Bistro and Smugglers Den Inn.
  • Great little cottage in village with shop and pub 5 mins to Newquay

  • We had an absolutely wonderful weekend in this beautiful cottage despite the appalling weather! The cottage is as quaint as it looks and was warm, comfortable and very well equipped. The breakfast bits were a bonus! The whole place was sparkling clean and Kate was extremely flexible with check in and out times which was hugely appreciated. We walked down to holywell beach which is lovely and to get out of the rain had a fab lunch in the thatched pub en route We will definitely be back! Thankyou.

    Joanne2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly as described quaint cosy and very comfortable. Nice touches with the breakfast items and tea coffee and milk. Makes a difference not having to worry about having to take these things. A very enjoyable mini break .

    Liz2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Check in was easy, the details Kate gave were detailed and very useful The cottage was comfortable with milk, tea, coffee, bread, condiments & eggs most appreciated after a long journey. The beds were very comfortable and hot water on demand was great. We found eating around the small table tricky with the stairs, but as the weather was beautiful we ate breakfast outside. We would highly recommend staying here, although as the owner states, the stairs are very tricky, so if you have young children, they may struggle. My teenagers were fine, but we carried the dog up and down. Not a problem for us. The village has a shop, fish & chips shop, cafe & a pub....all in one stretch with a minute walk from the cottage. All are great and recommend them all. Great area for sightseeing the coast. Highly recommend.

  • Great host, lovely cottage and just about the perfect beach in Britain a very short drive away at Holywell. Wonderful. Thank you!

  • Lovely quaint little white washed cottage with steep stairs and low ceilings which gives it a unique Cornish charm. The cottage has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay. The village of Cubert is friendly and quiet with a corner shop, post office a pub and fish and chip shop. We enjoyed walks through the meadow to the thatched Smugglers Inn pub where they served great food and days by the sea at Crantock beach. Having taken my mam and sister to Cornwall for their first time to celebrate my 30th birthday, I’ll cherish the memories we’ve shared here - thankyou Kate! Xx

    Victoria2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay and enjoyed the home and thoughtful touches left for us to welcome us when we arrived! One point to note is that being a quaint and pretty cottage the ceilings are quite low for taller than average people.

    Claire2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage situated in the Village of Cubert. Our first impression of the property was that it’s charming and beautiful, and contained many of the features that both myself and my partner really wanted in our short trip away... Kate & Lee’s cottage definitely delivered, the facility itself was welcoming and warm for us and our little shar-pei! The cottage was clean, cosy beds simply perfect. All-round perfect few days spent away and would highly recommend it to others. Thank you again for having us!

The Garden Room is a lovely, simple, rustic one room wooden cabin in a meadow garden with country views. A super kingsize double bed with wardrobe, chest of drawers, table and 2 chairs, also a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. Cooking is a single gas ring or BBQ outside the cabin under a gazebo. The private toilet and hot shower are in a separate hut adjoining the cabin, hand basin is drinking and cold water only. Fresh mains water is also accessible from the wash room. Free WiFi. Smart TV
The Garden Room is detached and is situated behind Bramble Cottage and has countryside and meadow views. It has a lovely rustic feel and simply decorated. The garden and meadow are natural with wild flowers and grasses, there is an abundance of wildlife. There are two small paddocks with two ponies which are directly opposite the cabin and there are chickens, a cockerel and ducks in a fenced pond area. The Garden Room at Bramble Cottage is in a pretty village Hamlet called Rose and is close to Perranporth and its 3 mile golden sandy beach. Perranporth is a few minute drive or a 20 to 30 minute walk which has a footpath alongside the main road. We are 5 minutes walk from the bus stops which run a regular and reliable service to any local destination. There are many places of local places of interest to visit and wonderful coastal and countryside walks. Rose Hamlet is almost in the middle of Cornwall, so most places throughout the county are easily accessible, the furthest point being no more than a 45 minute drive away.
The Garden Room is in a Hamlet. The nearest shop is in Goonhavern approx one mile away where there is also a pub, The New Inn which serves very good food. The surrounding areas are rural and very pretty and there are many beaches and coves to explore in our Poldark country. The West Coast has dramatic coastal views. Cornwall has a huge amount to offer for everyone of all ages and abilities and is a beautiful place to visit.
  • We wouldn't hesitate in recommending this destination to others. Exactly as promised according to the description so exactly what we were looking for. A perfect weekend stay.

    Claire2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice place to stay with friendly helpful hosts.

    Derek2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely place to stay. Surrounded by the birds and the bees. Everything you need is there, and a fantastic, friendly host.

    Patricia2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic four night stay. Facilities were perfect for a glorious, sunny bank holiday weekend in August. The location is ideal and very relaxing. Rose and Peter were brilliant hosts, who couldn’t do enough for you. .

    Jane2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and cosy place to stay. Would recommend it.

    Sue2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rose’s Garden Room was a little treasure and Rose was an amazing host. There was everything you need in the Garden Room and the location was very peaceful, ideal for exploring other parts of Cornwall and only a very short car journey to Perranporth. Seasoned walkers could walk to the beach on readily accessible footpaths. Rose was a lovely host and was on hand for advice or just a friendly chat.

    Karen2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • We would recommend this lovely cabin to anyone wanting a cosy and affordable stay in an amazing part of Cornwall. Rose is a wonderful host who is always willing to help you make the most of your stay, couldn't thank her more and would be looking to stay again in the future.

    Martyn2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful stay in this cozy little place. There was everything needed in the cottage (including an umbrella and a torch) and it is decorated in a very loving way. It is really peaceful and quiet and Rose is an outstanding host. She was very welcoming and kind. Thank you again! The surrounding area is great for hiking and there´s a beutiful beach for swimming in Perranporth. I´m really glad I spend a week in this lovely place.

Our home is located on the edge of Cubert village close to Newquay and Perranporth and just a five minute drive or pleasant walk to the beautiful Holywell Bay. Your comfortable room has breathtaking views over Penhale Sand Dunes, open countryside and the Atlantic ocean in the distance plus a very big sky! Your room has excellent facilities and you have exclusive access to a large bathroom nextdoor. We are on hand to help make your stay great, but respect your privacy absolutely.
Our home, which we call "There Y'arr sea" (There we are; sea), is located in a small modern development of houses in the village of Cubert near and between Newquay and Perranporth and just a five-minute drive to the beautiful beach at Holywell Bay. It's a four-bedroom detached house with breathtaking views over Penhale dunes (The largest in Cornwall with special scientific and conservation designations), open countryside and the Atlantic ocean in the distance plus a very big sky! Our guest room is carpeted, warm, quiet and comfortable. We are far enough away from the village road, so that you don't hear the traffic. The room has a new double bed and mattress with bedside drawers either side , a dressing table with built-in mirror and side drawers. The room also includes a wardrobe with plenty of hangers. We have included a mini fridge, which sits on a separate table and we provide fresh milk and a kettle so you can make your own tea and coffee. We include a range of beverages including Cornish tea, coffee and chocolate. Other drinks are available for purchase in the room at cost price using the honesty box. Other items in the room that you'll find useful include: a toaster; an iron and ironing board; a silent clock; an HD TV with Chromecast and DVD player (You'll have access to Wi-Fi); a hairdryer; a full length dress mirror; a ceiling fan; two chairs; three touch controlled dimmable table lamps and a multi-charge cable for your devices. There are also extra pillows and blankets for your comfort. We can provide local OS maps if you're keen walkers and we can give you plenty of ideas about places to visit for fun, food and frollicking. For your safety the house has smoke and carbon monoxide detectors and you'll have access to a torch, a fire extinguisher and a first aid kit in the room. The guest room is lockable. The room has a sea view and with the weather on your side you'll experience some of the best sunsets you'll ever see. Conversely, if you like to see stars then the light pollution is very low compared to Newquay (I have binoculars). If you fancy a quiet day at 'home' you are welcome to use our sunbeds and garden chairs in the secluded rear garden. During your stay you will have use of your own large private bathroom, which includes a toilet, bath, sink and shower. To save on your packing we include shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, hand soap and hand cream. You will have your own parking space and there's plenty of room for your surfboards in the garage. We also provide a cold outdoor wash down facility to rinse off your surfing equipment. We provide a simple breakfast comprising various cereals, fruit, bread, croissants/pastries, marmalade and jams and fruit. Feel free to eat takeaways in your room, but do ask us for cutlery, plates, serviettes etc. Our accommodation is suitable for singles and all couples who love the beauty of Cornwall, but like to retreat to a quiet living space after a hard slog down by the sea. Our aim is to provide you with a vacation experience that will match everything that is good about our wonderful county of Cornwall Sorry, but no dogs or other pets. Unfortunately our house is not adapted for disabled access. Due to local authority planning restrictions we are unable to accommodate Campervans and Caravans on our parking spaces or on our estate generally.
CLOSEST BEACHES: Our nearby sandy beach is Holywell Bay, which is a five-minute drive or, if you like a pleasant stroll, you can walk to Holywell Bay via Ellenglaze Valley in 25 minutes. The walk is downhill and flat all the way! If you don't fancy the walk back you can jump on the bus outside the Treguth Inn back to Cubert (£2.40 pp at the time of writing). At low tide you can visit the holy well cave. Be sure to get to the car park early during the summer school holidays as it fills up quickly. The popular Crantock beach is a ten-minute drive away, but get to the car park early in school holidays. There's normally a converted army truck on the sands selling tea, coffee, pastries and ice creams. Between these two beaches is the small bay of Porth Joke (or Polly Joke as the locals call it). There is a small National Trust car park accessed via a quite poor track off the main road to West Pentire followed by a ten-minute walk. It's a small sandy beach and is a fairly quiet beach due to the access. From here you can walk along the cliffs to a tiny inaccessible cove where, if you're lucky, you'll find seals resting on the beach below. LOCAL PUBS: We have three excellent local pubs nearby. The Anvil in Cubert is a 6 minute walk from our house and has the best pies in Cornwall (Tuesday is 'Pie Night). They also have a charity quiz night every Friday during the season and Saturdays is Steak night. The 16th Century Treguth Inn is in Holywell Village, which also has a quiz night every Wednesday, and the Smugglers Den is a 20 minute walk across the fields (You will need the room torch to walk back after dark). The Smugglers has music nights and hosts its most popular pie, music and ale festival at the beginning of May over the bank holiday. All the pubs provide good food. SHOPS: In our village we have an open 'till late grocer/off licence/post office (for your cash) and we have an excellent baker/café and a fish and chip shop. The nearest supermarkets are Morrisons and Lidl, which are next to each other and a ten-minute drive. CAR PARKING and NATIONAL TRUST: If you're not a member of the National Trust (NT) you might want to consider joining as there are some fine properties and gardens to visit in Cornwall and several of the beach car parks are NT owned and are free to members. This includes Holywell Bay and nearby Crantock beach and Polly (Porth) Joke. Most Council operated car parks in Newquay are free after 4pm and free all the time in the winter. Also (online) get a Gardeners World 2 for 1 discount card to save money on entry to loads of fabulous gardens in Cornwall. NIGHTLIFE: Newquay has plenty of nightlife and if you enjoy live music (as we do) then we would recommend Whiskers on a Wednesday and the Red Lion on Fridays and Saturdays. Socio is also worth a visit as they too often have bands at the weekend. EATING OUT: There are a great many good places to eat out and amongst our favourites are: The Colonial on Tolcarne Beach Newquay; Lewinnick Lodge, Pentire Newquay; Sundowner music evenings at Lusty Glaze beach Newquay; The Watering Hole in Perranporth; Fifteen, The Beach Hut and Zacry's at Watergate Bay and C-bay in Crantock. SURFING: Our home is a fifteen minute drive from the surfers' favourite Fistral Beach in Newquay and most of our local beaches, including Holywell, have surfing schools and hire shops. Watergate Bay, which is arguably as popular with surfers is only twenty minutes away where we recommend Xtreme Academy for your surfing lessons.
  • What a great stay we had in Cubert, at Julia and Calvin’s lovely home! So many thoughtful touches and the fact that we were made to feel so welcome. A fantastic view from our room over the Penhale Sands to the sea beyond, plenty if footpaths and local amenities in and around Cubert. Holywell Bay less than 30 minutes walk or 3 minutes in the car. We are looking forward to our next visit!

    David2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Julias and Calvins place is lovely, our room was wonderful with a beautiful view at the sea. After we arrived they booked a table for us at a local restaurant. The house is lovely and very clean with everything we needed for several nights. They thought of everything. During our stay we had some nice chats with our hosts and received good tips to explore the area.

    Ivo2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Calvin are lovely hosts and have a fine room and location. Would certainly recommend. We spent an enjoyable holiday there.

    Annemarie2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I stayed at Julia and Calvin's place for 6 nights and it was perfect. The room is equipped with everything you could need, they are positioned either a short drive or do-able walk from the beach and the breakfast every morning was brilliant. 10/10 would recommend!

    Claire2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Julia and Calvin's house has been perfect. They are very friendly, gave us a lot of tips so we could visit the best places in one day and half, and eat the best food . The first day we arrived at 8 pm so Calvin drove us to the pub in the village so we could have a nice dinner and enjoy a funny quiz night. The place is in a wonderful village close to beaches. The house is very nice, clean and there is a lot of attention for details. We will come back for sure. Highly recommended!

    Marco2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • friendly hosts, lovely clean home, wonderful location

    Diane2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • During our stay here, we felt fantastic.Being in the company of Julia and Calvin is a real pleasure. Whenever we needed a help, we could always rely on them. Our room and bathroom equipment was kept to a very high standard. This was our first stay in Cornwall, but we'll definietly come back here. We highly recommended this place.

    Mariusz2019-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • Julia and Calvin were superb hosts! When my girlfriend and I arrived late, they warmly greeted us and quickly made us reservations for the restaurant down the road before it stopped serving dinner. Their home is exactly as pictured. A clean, comfortable bedroom, and large, sparkling private bathroom. Everything was perfectly setup, including beach towels and great view of the sunset over Holywell Bay :) Calvin was eager to share local tips, including beaches, walks along the dunes and cliffs, and places to eat. Holywell Bay is one of the most spectacular beaches we found in our ten days in Cornwall (and only a five-minute drive away!) Fistral Beach in Newquay is less than 15 minutes away. We found however, one can't go wrong whatever direction the roads take you along the coast! Our only regrets were 1) We didn't take advantage of spending time in their home's lovely garden, and 2) We weren't able to stay and additional 1-2 nights. We really appreciated the friendly conversations at breakfast both mornings. Julia and Calvin are both genuinely kind, interesting, insightful people. I give them & "There Y'arr sea" my highest recommendation. I would not hesitate to stay here again (and hope to some day!) Sincere appreciation to you both again. Danke sehr!

However the garden is currently a work in progress. We love to host and share what we have with others. This house has a home from home, good vibed and a laid back atmosphere.

The view is fantastic from the lounge, a bonus to be able to sea the sea! The location is great too, only a short walk to the centre of Newquay where you will find all the shops and places to eat and drink etc. Jane is very friendly and on hand if you need anything but leaves you alone to enjoy your stay. Check in and check out very smooth, also communication was excellent and prompt. We thoroughly recommend staying here and hope to return in the future. Christina
