Beautiful Off Grid Cabin in the woods, completely surrounded by trees and nature, this is a chance to just unplug and unwind. The Cabin does have lights which are solar powered and wood burning stove which heats the entire cabin. Its truly a magnificent experience... time to just relax and enjoy nature, you wont hear a thing but maybe the odd wolf or coyote howl. The cabin does not have a shower or a washroom in it. The outhouses are a short walking distance and are clean and spacious available 24/7. Wifi is available if you need it. We do supply firewood in the winter months for your arrival ONLY as we like the cabin to be warm and toasty for your arrival but after that you will be required to supply your own firewood to keep the cabin warm during the day and on those chilly nights (you can purchase on your way in at Eagle Lake Country Store). The cabin is equipped with a Coleman style propane stove, as well, all utensils and cookware are available including dishes, cutlery, coffee and tea. Please bring a cooler to keep your food and beverages cold for your stay. Remember NO food or garbage should be stored outside as our Nature friends might become to friendly. Please keep it clean.

  • Andreas place is perfect for a family. Much better than a hotel. Lots of room and the kids just loved the Nintendo Wii and accessories.

  • Andrea and Tom are great hosts. Very quick response with anything. The apartment is well supplied, very cozy and clean. The property is beautiful. The location is perfect for anything that the town and surrounding area of South River has to offer. We plan on using this home again in the future.

  • This home is perfect for those of you who want to experience the adventures and natural beauty in and around South River. Andrea and her family have a beautiful, comfortable home, great property to explore and lots of stuff for kids to do. If peace and quiet is what you are looking for, you've found the right location. • Outstanding place to stay. Definitely recommend.

    James2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This is my second stay with Andrea. The accommodation is clean and cozy. There is ample parking. Close to the OFSC trails and only a short drive to town.

    Mark2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying here - we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was, and the property was fun to explore. The kitchen had everything we needed to make many different types of meals, and Andrea was quick to respond when we had questions. We will definitely return soon!

    Denise2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a few days enjoying the great accommodations. The house was spotless and exceeded our expectations. Linens were fresh, and the beds were comfortable. The shower was great. Cooking was ease, Barbeque and oven worked great, although we had a smoke detector go off when we had the oven on. Easily solved with exhaust fan turn on{our mistake}. LOL Pleasantly pleased! Good parking and space enough for a trailer. My son and I enjoyed a nice fire and spent time fishing in the area as our snowmobile trip was fouled by mother nature. We will be booking again if they will have us!! It is a great little spot and I rate it a 5 out of 5.

For a day or a week this fully off grid cottage right on the South River is a perfect option. 5kms outside of town. While this cottage is fully off grid, there are plenty of amenities to make your stay comfortable. Including plenty of power from our solar panels, drinkable water, hot showers, propane heat for cold nights, a stove, bbq and cooler with ice. We live just minutes away and can help with any questions.
With 3 acres, you can feel like you've escaped, but be close to everything you might need or want. 5kms to town where there is grocery, LCBO, brewery, restaurants, gas and more A few more Kms and you can be at beautiful beaches with good swimming, boating, fishing and playgrounds, golf course, hiking trails and Mikisew Provincial Park
  • Mike's cabin offered us the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The cabin was cozy and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. The space was clean. Having the propane heater onsite helped us warm up the place on a cold weekend. The location was perfect and close to Mikisew provincial park. Overall a great experience.

    Nisha2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was exactly same as described. Well wrote introduction provided, easy to find, and privacy existed. Near lakes seemed great to swim but not for this weather so I think I will visit here again in Summer.

    Kiyoung2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for somewhere off the grid where we could bring our dogs as well. I’ve been to south river before so I knew what to expect from the small town and what the roads are like where Mike’s place is located. Even still I managed to miss the entrance and had to backtrack. The house was clean and was perfect for our needs. We brought our own battery operated radio to use but there was a tv and DVD player but we weren’t there to watch movies. There’s a fire pit and a bbq and basically no one around. The propane heater does a great job of heating up the house and kept us warm on the cold nights. We would definitely stay there again if we are up that way, it is a lovely little spot with wonderful hosts.

    Moira2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed one night while in the area for a quick trip to enjoy the fall colours. This place was exactly what we were looking for within our budget. The location is convenient for getting to the hiking trails. It was clean and met our expectations. Mike was a responsive host and helped us with his local knowledge of the area.

    Caitlin2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Great host who answered in a timely manner. There was a good amount of short hikes in the area. I would definitely recommend this stay, especially in the autumn months.

    Vanessa2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great outdoor place to spend some time surrounded by nature. While being off grid it has all the amenities you might want to make your stay comfortable. The place is very clean and perfect for a weekend to relax and spend some time by the campfire. Mike was a great host, very responsive and everything was exactly as described - I would definitely like to come back in the future!

    Akos2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sparkling clean. It suddenly got cold at night but Mike was a responsive host and helped get the heater running. This place is complete off-grid. Great place to stay for a weekend getaway ! Would like to visit again.

This is a log cabin built in the 1940's. It is off grid no running water or electricity. Indoor toilet, outdoor shower. It has all the neccessities propane fridge amd stove, charcoal bbq . The water is supplied from a well in town. There is lighting that runs off a solar panel.
It is a log cabin but very spacious. We just put new laminant flooring down in living area and washroom. It is rustic but comfy.Very quiet.
There is alot of bugs so bring repellent
  • Amazing little gem! Totally relaxing holiday!

    Jennifer2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t have asked for a better cabin for two people that wanted something just a step up from a tent. Highly recommend! And having Bill around only made for a better experience. Thanks, Bill!

    Kyle2019-07-12T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time! Definitely for the outdoors type of person, also the bugs were quite thick. Besides that Bill lives in the cabin about 15 steps away if you ever need anything.

    Carrie2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the cabin. All of the necessities and a great place for some peace and relaxation. I would totally stay again.

    James2019-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • What a lovely place to stay. The cabin is so peaceful and serene . We enjoyed it even more being able to bring our pooch with us. The bugs are quite terrible, but Bill helped us out with some mosquito coils. Bill was very helpful and all the tips he gave us were great. Would definitely come back here again.

    Sarah2019-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin is everything that a nature-lover with a strong desire to escape the city vibrations could dream of. A very humble log cabin overlooking the lake (like literally 2 feet from the lake) with the dreamiest view of freshwater and trees in the mornings. Paul and Tannis were really easy to communicate with, and their father was really sweet, showing us around the house, how to use the stove, making sure we had enough wood for fire, etc. He even brought our flat tire to town to get fixed! The cabin is a real gem in the heart of some beautiful Canadian forest. But PS this is definitely for adventurous folks who do not need wifi, fancy showers, and entertainment to have a good time. This is a nature retreat. And those who appreciate just listening to the trees, the wind, and the lake will LOVE iT.

    Margarita2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most amazing time in this quaint "off-the-grid" cabin. The area was so quiet, peaceful and gorgeous. The host was great to chat with and he made sure we had everything we needed. After the stress of working in a nursing home, this getaway was just what we needed. We saw 3 moose too!!!

CORVID protection. New rentals have 48 hour period between stays for virus free setting. We keep you safe. Hot tub in a huge screened porch on gorgeous Wolf Lake (pickerel, bass). Bathing suit optional. Renovated bright cottage with quiet neighbors. Modern stocked kitchen. Over an acre of privacy and 125 feet of lake frontage. There are many backroads to explore. Or just kick back on one of the 2 decks or the dock. NEW Free firewood! free peddle boat for two adults and 2 kids.
Not for partiers or groups. Cedar Point is near our home and we are here to help you with fires, bikes, kayaks, canoe and cool places to hike or explore. We are determined that guests do not disturb our neighborhood which is family oriented and peaceful, so make sure that style fits your needs. We DO NOT CHARGE extra for 2 children under 12. Just book as 2 adults and advise us of children's' ages in comments. No wifi we encourage you to unplug. There is good cell service if you like to use your phone. TV/DVD with over a hundred movies in the library. New gas BBQ ready to grill. Nice and bright and comfy furniture. Brand new mattress and linens. Couch folds out to queen bed.
Why come to Wolfe Lake? Loons, osprey, beaver, ducks are resident on the lake. Duck families may float by looking for a handout. Deer are often seen on the "Boulevard" or in the back yard. We do see an eagle on occasion. About a mile across, Wolfe is big enough to enjoy exploring with small watercraft while major motorboats are somewhere else. Far away. The sandy public beach and boat launch is on Wolfe Lake Rd, directly across the lake. Explore nearby cottage roads or the historic Nipissing Colonization Road (see nipissingroad at dot ca for details.) Walking and biking is a pleasure on leafy cottage roads. Within a short drive: hiking trails; antique shops; museums; liquor; restaurants; honey farm and more.
  • Wonderful place. Had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Hosts were friendly, respectful and helpful. Location is great, with lots of paddles, hikes and more. We recommend this stay to anyone wanting to get away from things, enjoy the outdoors and quiet. There are also games and lots of movies to watch at night. Thanks Will and Mona!

    Tim And Joanne2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • A great place and opportunity to taste cabin life. The lakeshore location, the hot tub and the boat made for an exceptional setting and experience.

    Audrey2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place! Will & Mona go above and beyond to make your stay enjoyable, with lots of thoughtful touches and a very warm welcome. They have thought of everything you might need for a weekend at the cottage. The hot tub is a really great addition too, particularly after swimming/boating on the lake. The screened in area is a big bonus, especially when barbequing so you don't have to dodge the bugs! The stars are stunning: it was especially nice to sit on the dock as it went dark and watch the stars emerge. A paddle boat is available with the cottage, and you can also rent a kayak from Will, which I would really recommend as it's a great lake for exploring on the kayak (including the pretty little public island in the middle and a public beach). It's also nice for swimming: just take a little care of your surroundings when out in deep water as there are a couple of jet skis around at the weekend. I would highly recommend booking this place for a relaxing getaway by the lake.

    Vicki2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • Mona and Will are absolutely perfect hosts and make you feel welcomed for your trip! Their place is spotless, has an amazing view, all the amenities, and an amazing private and gorgeous location. We celebrated our three year anniversary together here and we loved every second of it! From their little details in helping us celebrate our love, to the amazing recommendations, and the fantastic location, this cottage is absolutely perfect for a couples getaway. We loved the hot tub and the dock is so perfect to sit on in the morning and drink your coffee. There is a charming island that we peddled out to explore and it is worth every penny to sit out on those rocks and listen to the loons calling. We loved to sit out in the screened in patio (perfect by the way) and relax in the hot tub and look up at the stars. if you are thinking of celebrating an anniversary here, or having a weekend getaway this is the place! Will and Mona are perfect hosts and we are so grateful to them for making our anniversary together so special! Thank you Will and Mona!

    Taylor2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Mona are wonderful hosts. Extremely warm and welcoming. They go above and beyond to ensure your stay is as pleasant as possible. The cottage is very well stocked with lots of considerate touches. Easily reached if required with fast reply. Nice cozy cottage, very clean. Hottub was very nice. Lake is clear with very shallow walk out from the dock. Highly recommended, book with confidence.

    Kevin2019-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • Will and Mona's cottage was very charming, with great view of lake. The hot tub and special touches were a great feature. Look forward to going back again next summer. Cheers !

    Karen2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Will and Mona’s lakefront cottage. We were so ready for a chance to unwind from work, and this lovely getaway was the perfect place. Wolfe Lake is beautiful with Canadian Shield rock edging out into the lake in many places. It was glass calm many mornings and could also get nice and wavy in the wind. Will and Mona’s place was indeed sparkling clean and well-equipped with all you need at the cottage. The extra touches were generous and thoughtful with a bottle of wine, muffins/cupcakes, fresh flowers. When the weather pushed us indoors it was fun to have movies to watch. Most appreciated was the warm welcome from Will and Mona when we arrived. They kindly showed us around and made sure we were all set to start our vacation. Thank you so much for sharing this special place. We loved our vacation here and hope to return!

  • We visited Fred & Jill's property to celebrate my mother's birthday...and we had a great time! The cottage itself is very cozy and comfortable and the property was perfect for our dog to run wild. The fishing is top notch - caught a lot small mouth bass from the kayak and canoe (rented from their store - super convenient). Thanks again Jill & Fred!

  • Northern Comfort is such a nice Suite to stay at for a very relaxing time. It is very clean, comfortable furniture and well stocked. Very nice touches with a bit of breakfast fresh foods left in the fridge and cupboards. We were up for a weekend of sledding, and this worked out great for us. We were able to cook just a quick supper, on stove and counter oven. Bed was very comfortable, slept well after 2 good days on the trails. There is a hot tub outside, but we didn’t use it. No real reason, just too tired. The tub area looked very nice. The owner was very assessable with accommodating parking with our trailer. And was available to answer any questions.

  • Michael is such a wonderful host. He made us feel right at home. The cottage was very clean and comfortable with all the amenities we needed. The lake is beautiful and peaceful and there is lots to do if you like or you can just kick back and relax and enjoy the view. I highly recommend staying here.

  • Such friendly hosts, very polite and kind, beautiful place and the boat was an awesome touch we loved the fishing and fire pit! Michael was there whenever we needed him and even offered butter when we ran out for supper! He went above and beyond and made our stay awesome!

  • Great little quiet getaway right on the water, clean, comfy, and beautiful decks/dock to relax on.

  • The cottage is a perfect getaway for a family of four. We had a great time fishing, kayaking and using other amenities. The place is very well kept and Michael is an excellent host and super hospitable! We will definitely be returning next year.

  • What you see is what you get! The cottage was amazing and well stocked with everything we needed. Michael was a great host. Despite living right next door, we felt like we still had our privacy. There were toys galore at the water. Canoe, paddle boat, kayaks and an aluminum fishing boat. The lake was beautiful. Fishing was good too! Michael gave us great directions to get there. Also great recommendations for dinners too! Danny's Justa Pasta on Highway 11 was a great night out. They served a mean cheesecake! Thanks again Michael for being an amazing host. Nancy & Darren

  • By far, we had the best experience of the summer! Everything was perfect! Location is breathtaking! The hardest part was to convince yourself that it is time to leave at the end. We already planning to come back! Thank you!!!

    Greg2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Come for the location, stay for the incredible hospitality and a genuine northern experience. Outstanding gracious hosts, very happy, lovely place. Note that you’re about 30 minute drive from groceries and you don’t want to waste precious holiday time on the road! But Sundridge is very good local source for everything. I just left and want to be back on Deer Lake. How Airbnb should be.

    Marian2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • From boat rides to home-made wine, Mike made sure that we had absolutely everything we needed to make our stay at the cottage as enjoyable as possible! Fishing was awesome too ;-)

  • We had a great stay at Sandee's place. It's very spacious, and we loved how the living room overlooks the beautiful lake. We also loved that we could bring our dog. Would highly recommend it, especially for larger groups.

  • Everything was perfect. Lots of space, we had 10, 2 babies, 2 toddlers and 6 adults and it was perfect. We will return, tremendous value.

    Peter2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cottage and perfect for family gatherings. The outside deck was perfect for board games in the shade or stargazing at night. Swimming off the dock was easy and the kayaks were a great hit with the kids. The kitchen was much better than expected (it’s been updated) and had all the small extras we forgot such as salt and pepper and more importantly extra coffee! Sandee is very responsive and a great host. She answered all our questions and prepped the cottage so it was move in ready.

    Jaden2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is great, and the view is amazing. You are right on the lake. The house is equipped with all the amenities and comfort that you might need. The neighborhood is really quiet, with te exception of a few boats passing now and then.

    Diego2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sandee’s cottage. The house is beautiful and the view stunning. She contacted us to make sure everything was good, and it certainly was!

    Daniela2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, exactly as advertised. Sandee was a tremendous host and the place is perfect for a family. The deck is beautiful and it provides an amazing view of the lake. The lake is quite and relaxing. It's truly a cottage with lots of charm and character and you should expect a cottage-space not a house. We really enjoyed the fire pit as well.

  • Our stay at Chicks on the Dock was truly amazing!!! We were able to dock our pontoon right on their dock. The amenities in the cottage ... you don't need anything in the kitchen ... all is provided. Anyone going to that part of Ontario (North Bay area) you MUST rent this cottage ... you will NOT be disappointed to say the least. Great place/great spot to relax and enjoy!!!

    Irene2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Aly's cottage was amongst my favorite cottage experiences. Her place is extremely clean, very stylish with great amenities (including a high quality kitchen and an amazing shower), gorgeous dock and view of the lake. Kayaks, SUPS, canoes ensured we had plenty to do outside on the water ... but if the weather didn't cooperate I wouldn't bat an eye to spend the day inside as well. It was very easy to get to from the main highway and check in/check out were both very seamless. Aly was very gracious during our stay and was very responsive when we had a question. When we return to cottage country in the future, we'll be checking Aly's listing first.

  • Chicks on the Dock is a great place to unwind and get together with friends and family. The cottage is beautiful, super clean and comfortable. Great atmosphere and gorgeous decor. There's a lot to do....fire pit, kayaking, paddle boarding, canoeing and hiking. The view of the lake is breathtaking. We enjoyed every minute of our time there and will definitely be back when possible. Thanks Ali and Jim.

  • We were visiting family in the area and this was the perfect location to both enjoy time with our family and relax from the daily grind. The cottage was stocked with everything we needed. The lake and property were beautiful.

  • Chicks on a Dock is a beautiful cottage right on the lake. The water is beautiful, and Aly made herself available to us via email, offering suggestions and reminders. Thanks for a great vacation!

  • Amy’s place is great for a relaxing vacation on the water. Clean, weed-free lake and beautiful sunsets.

  • Aly place was more beautiful thank what we expected. She was very quick to respond to any messages I sent to her. I loved all the suggestions she gave us regarding local attractions. The sunsets were espectacular and the lake was quiet. Then kitchen was fully loaded which made meal preparation very easy. This is a lovely place to relax in and I highly recommend it.

  • Aly’s cottage is amazing! Beautiful waterfront property, great fire pit and super cozy indoors. Lots of water toys to play with. The dock and multiple decks are great for doing absolutely nothing and just soaking it all in! Especially the sunsets that you have a front row seat for. Aly was a fantastic host and would recommend staying here 100%!

A cozy 3 bedroom A-frame with a great blend of home-comfort and one-with-nature feel. Enjoy the water with a paddle or swim, take in the sunset on the deck or dock, or hang out by the campfire. I love it up there and think you'll have a great time.
Like most cottages, I'll ask that you keep things tidy and clean up for the next guest to enjoy. Please bring your own linens, towels and personal items. Enjoy the outdoor shower morning, noon and night that's equipped with hot water.
  • Ryan's place is a perfect getaway from the city, yet conveniently located so you're not hurting for groceries & supplies. The cottage itself is a cozy affair with an ample porch and just steps away from beautiful, clear Eagle Lake. There is a cute family of ducks that hang around the dock. The shower situation was much more tolerable than a previous reviewer made it out to be - I would even describe it as favourable. Overall Ryan's cottage provided a much needed respite of which I highly recommend.

The Barber's Cottage is a little gem situated on the shore of Lake Bernard. The front room is the kitchen/dining/living room area. The back room is the bedroom/bathroom. Safe shallow lake entry. Quiet lane way. Close to town. PLEASE NOTE, THE COTTAGE CLOSES FROM Oct.28th, 2018 to May 2019 but we still take reservations for 2019, May to October. Book early to avoid disappointment.
The cottage was completely renovated in 2012 and has a bright interior. The front room offers great lake views. A porch has comfy furniture for sitting and enjoying the view. The kitchen is well equipped.
The cottage is situated on a lane way and only a short walk to a grocery store or downtown.
  • A cozy and simple cottage in an amazing location. Would recommend using the canoe for and unforgettable sunrise experience.

  • We had a nice stay at Valerie-Ann’s cottage. It’s very small and quaint, but has everything you’d need. The property is very pretty, with a shallow, sandy walkout into the water. Access to a canoe and kayaks was a nice touch. We would definitely stay again.

    Cam2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I recently stayed the weekend at Valerie-Ann's cottage and it was such a great little cozy place to spend a few nights and relax. With the town so close by, it's easy to walk into the centre to enjoy the little shops and cafes around town. Everyone in Sundridge is super friendly, which made the stay even better. Check-in is exactly as described and really easy. The cottage was clean when I arrived and the view of the sunrise in the morning was fantastic. Definitely make sure to set your alarm early, so you don't miss it! The only suggestion I would make would be to have a fully loaded lighter for the fire pit (I just used my own, no big deal) and perhaps bring a bottle opener (I brought my own actually anyway), corkscrew and an additional few towels for the kitchen. Other than that, the cottage was exactly how the photos look and it is perfect for a solo getaway, or sharing with one other person. :)

    Natasha2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is gem hidden in Sundridge. I was very pleased with all the amenities that were provided. The cottage was clean, warm and had everything for a perfect relaxing stay. I can't imagine needing anything else. If you are looking for an isolated, peaceful location for a break away from the city, this is it. Thanks Valerie-Ann for a wonderful opportunity to experience the North in this gorgeous setting.

This secluded cottage is on 5 acres with 300 ft of lake front on the very tranquil McQuaby Lake. It is so quiet, you can hear the breeze in the trees during the day and the loons calling to each other at night, and you won’t be disturbed by nearby cottagers. The cottage is bright with great views and only feet away from the lake where there is just a gentle natural slope into the clear water and sandy bottom. It has three good size bedrooms one two piece bathroom and a huge outdoor cedar shower.
  • Breathing Room is exactly as pictured. A great escape from busy city life. The water is great for children.

    Staci2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jennifer’s cottage is lovely, extremely clean and very comfortable. The property is fantastic! An expansive space with lots of room to enjoy - the fire pit and Muskoka chairs were perfect for making s’mores and chatting around the fire under the stars. I also found it perfect and safer for my young kiddo. With a picnic table by the water and one by the fire pit with a view of the lake, the options for family meals outdoors are great. The rock on the water allows for shallow entry to a sandy bottom perfect for little ones. The rocks are a great place to sit and watch the water, look for frogs, minnows and enjoy stargazing. There’s a beautiful, secluded little sandy beach at the other end of the property with some rocks that are perfect for watching the sunset. Bring some outdoor toys/games, lawn chairs, beach toys and a canoe, paddle board or kayak and you are set. While there is no dock because it’s shallow entry, the boat launch is pretty much next door and we drove our boat right up into the sand at the cottage and tied it to a tree. The interior of the cottage is the perfect refuge, loaded with light and views of the water and trees from each room. It’s such a private cottage, and had everything we needed. The front bedroom is decorated beautifully and faces trees in front of the lake. It’s curtained off, but the blackout curtains were great and still felt very private. McQuaby Lake is small, surrounded by green, and is so quiet. We would go back to this cottage in a heartbeat.

    Corrinne2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage was an amazing experience. It was mostly private until we got into the water. The only disappointment there was that the neighbours boat, paddle boat and dock were anchored quite close and we felt a bit restricted to how much of the water we could use. We loved the clean water and the kids played in the water and kayaked the whole week we were there. The cottage was fairly clean and Jennifer was very accommodating to us and our 6 children.

    Brad2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Hi Jennifer, I just wanted to let you know we had an amazing time at your cottage! The outdoor shower was possibly the favourite of the whole trip. We got to feed the ducks as well as the chipmunks, play lots of games and swim to our hearts content. We would definitely love to come back again next year!

    Yvonne2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent cottage. Way better in person. Very private, you can only see your one neighbor when you are in the water. Jennifer is an amazing host, she is very quick to respond and she is very accommodating! The cottage has everything you need. It was perfect for our group of six and dogs. The beds are very comfortable and the outdoor shower is superb! The lake is beautiful, nice, shallow sandy bottom with a sloping rock. We even caught a couple of smallmouth bass right off the rock! We recommend renting this, you will not be disappointed! We would definitely rent again!

  • We had a lovely few days at Jennifer's cottage, blessed with great weather over the weekend. Location is perfect for those seeking a quiet, relaxing time away and the lake was lovely. The outdoor shower was a bonus, and really added to the ambience of the cottage. Jennifer was a perfect host, quick to answer any questions we had and very helpful. Thank you Jennifer!!

Everything we needed was there and they even left some local brewed coffee for us to try. She responded to any questions right away and gave us a lot of tips about the area. They even cleaned the snow from the driveway everyday. We recommend staying at this place and if we will be back in the area we will book with Marilyn for sure.

  • We had an amazing time at Cecilia’s cottage! The lake was beautiful and quiet which made for a relaxing stay. We had a lot of fun playing badminton and volleyball, canoeing and kayaking. The fire pit overlooking the lake was a great way to end the night! Cecilia was a great host, she’s very accommodating, informative and quick to respond. We would definitely recommend a stay at this cottage!

  • Beautiful large deck with gorgeous view of the lake, great campfire pit and bunkie, lovely lake to swim in, and Cecilia is accommodating and quick to reply to communication. The cottage is older and rustic with a very small kitchen workspace but it was adequate and we spent our time outside. We had a relaxing and fun holiday with our 3 adult kids. We would definitely go back. Thanks Cecilia!

  • As a first time AirBnB user, I hope every host is like Cecilia. She was always quick to respond and went above and beyond to accommodate my large group and last minute changes. The property is a great, traditional cottage with a huge new deck, tons of parking and amenities. The lake is quiet and beautiful, great swimming as long as your not too squeamish about stepping on some squishy areas. I would stay there again in a heartbeat and recommend Cecilia's cottage to anyone looking to get out of the city.

    Cody2018-08-20T00:00:00Z
  • This place was our first Airbnb. It was a short stay, but perfect. It’s a great place to get out of the busy city and just hang out on the dock watching the water, or take the canoe out for a stroll on the lake. The scenery is fantastic. My kids loved the kayaks. They were out on them for hours. The deck is huge. Great place to bbq and entertain if there were a larger group of us. We loved this place and would recommend anyone book this. I’m sure this will be a repeat destination. Thank you Cecilia Mike and family

  • Andrew's cottage was a great escape from the city for a few nights. The lake was calm, quiet and wonderful to spend a few hours exploring on the canoe. The privacy was superb with such a big lot and everything was in working order. Thanks Andrew!

  • Andrew's place was clean, convenient and cozy. Check in was super easy. The kitchen was well-appointed with pretty much everything needed to make great meals . The large deck and the dock were great places to relax and soak up some sun. Andrew was quick to respond to any message; we really enjoyed our stay at his place.

  • Great location, right on the water. Andrew was very helpful. Comfy, with everything you need and a great view. We enjoyed our time at this beautiful place.

    Анна2017-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed staying at Andrew's cottage. It's nestled in on a quiet dead-end road right on the lake with plenty of green space and trees, making it feel very private. We enjoyed the kayaks, BBQ, and firewood provided, and appreciated Andrew's extremely responsive communication both when checking in and with questions we had. The location is a little further than some other cottages (particularly with traffic), but otherwise I would highly recommend staying at this place.

Joan and Murray were great hosts who assisted us immediately if we had any questions or concerns. This cottage was beautiful in the winter and I can only imagine what it would be like in the summer. It’s perfect.

Joan and Murray were great to communicate with, providing fast responses to any inquiries we had. Checkin was easy and painless. All amenities you would need for a cottage were provided, including all linens. The cottage is located on a beautiful lake which we enjoyed exploring with the canoe provided in the rental. The view from the living room and back decks and dock is very hard to beat! Thank you for the great getaway!

    Amy2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing week we had at Joan and Murray's secular cottage! My husband and I were really happy to entertain my in-laws with a true Canadian cottage experience during their first visit here. The cottage was spacious and vintage-looking inside and out. We especially liked the living room with wide windows looking directly out to the lake. My father-in-law preferred the private dock where he sat all day long fishing. I went canoeing twice a day with my husband and we often found ourselves the only boat on the lake. Watch out for the seagulls living on the big rock in the middle of the lake. They attempted to attack when we got closer. The water was perfect for swimming as well. Clean, clear and not cold. Mosquitos were vicious in the area this year and I was told it's not always like this. It was super dog friendly as well.

  • I rented Tiffany and Pat's place on Eagle Lake for a snowmobiling trip in January. This place did not disappoint. After a long day of snowmobiling it was a great place to come back to warm up and relax. The cottage offers picturesque views of Eagle Lake and a 30 second ride to the snowmobile trail. Had a great time and would recommend this place to anyone during any of the 4 seasons. Will definitely be heading back next year!

  • This cottage is ideally located - far enough away from people that it feels private while still being 5 minutes away from a general store and 15 minutes from town. The hosts were responsive and accommodating, and the cottage itself is a great value. We enjoyed the rustic feel and being right on the lake while still having potable water (that actually tasted pretty good) and cell reception in case of emergencies. The Super Nintendo is a nice touch and my wife and I battled it out after our child was in bed. We also enjoyed instant fresh coffee from the Keurig. Overall, I would not hesitate to stay again and recommend the cottage to others.

The cottage overlooks the lake. It is very peaceful and quiet. This creates the perfect environment to watch the birds, chipmunks, the heron in the morning and the otters swimming in the evening.
This cottage is unique because of its simplicity and very quiet location.
  • This place exceeded my expectations in many ways. We will be returning without a doubt! :) The host is very accommodating and covers all bases from house tips and nearby activities and shopping. Also, responds quickly and is readily available for any inquiries. A++ Stay!!

    Sandy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is located inside the woods and beside the lake. We drove into a mix of paved and gravel road about 20 minutes from town. Gillian guided us as the gps can't clearly track the way. The view on our way was so nice! It was a very secluded area, a couple of cottages within our way. At night, it's so dark, no lights on the way (better arrive before it gets dark!) An SUV or pickup truck is much suitable for the road. I would like to suggest to put some gravel on the driveway as it can be soft and slippery when it's raining, making it a bit hard to drive up from the cottage. (We slipped - sedan). The cottage is cosy with puzzles, game cards, fire pit with fire woods, bbq grill, hot and cold water, heater and a veranda to enjoy the view. Our host even prepared sticks for my kids to enjoy roasting marshmallows. A map and emergency number list were also provided. As per rule, we have to bring with us our own trashes, no dumpster near the cottage. If you're an adventure type of person, this place might be good for you. But if you're a sophisticated, classy type, maybe you have to think twice. In general, my family enjoyed our stay. The peaceful atmosphere, away from the busy city, the serenity of the woods and beautiful fall foliage will be memorable for all of us! Thank you Gillian 😊😊

  • We loved everything about Darren&Nadene’s guesthouse experience: we relaxed looking at the stars in the amazing living room upstairs and we waked up looking the woods and the trees through the windows. Nadene is like a lovely and young aunty cooking homemade muffins for breakfast. Room and bath were perfect and comfortable. What a pity stay only for one night!

    Marta2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Darren and Nadine were great hosts who were very pleasant to chat with at breakfast and both had a lot of information on the area to help me pick some hiking trails to visit. I ended up having the place to myself, and it was very peaceful. Beautiful space.

  • I was at Warbler’s mid-week and was the only person staying there. I had some apprehension prior to arriving, being out in the bush alone, and I ended up feeling very safe and comfortable there. The entire house was very clean. I had 2 of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time as it is so dark and so quiet at night. Again, although I was the only person there, Nadene prepared me a full spread of continental breakfast items each morning, which was hospitable.

    Carly2018-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredibly beautiful. There are trails everywhere and the short drive to Algonquin Park is chalk full of wonderful histroical surprises. The hosts were great and the fresh muffins every morning were nothing short of perfection. I really enjoyed my stay and I would tell to anyone staying in the area, that this place is a great place to stay.

    Raymond2018-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful one-night stay at Darren and Nadene's. Warbler's Roost is well situated for a peaceful getaway or a family gathering. The hosts are warm and welcoming, and Nadene prepared a delicious breakfast in the morning. Lake access is a very short walk away. We would definitely stay here again.

    Robert2018-06-29T00:00:00Z

  • We had a great stay at the Nadene and Darren property! Warm welcome, lots of tips and lively communication. The house is huge and even with several booked parties, everyone finds his spot. We cooked and then enjoyed the view on the lake! The time for breakfast we could wish. It was delicious, loving and rich. I can only recommend a stay here. Thank you very much!

  • Phenomenal service and communication. Very clean, as advertised. Comfy beds, all cooking pots, pans, utensils you need. I would highly recommend Billy and Donnas place to anyone. There was a group of 6 of us here snowmobiling. D trails are right there. Had we known they had 2 other AirBnB on the same property the other group of 7 could have stayed as well. Highly recommend.

  • This house has a beautiful view!

  • We had a wonderful time at Donna and Billy's cottage. It's a lake front view with access to a dock and kayaks and canoes, a scenic sunrise and sunset on most days. Although the weather was a bit temperamental we still managed to have a great time with family and friends. A definite recommendation for a couple nights stay.

  • Everything about this trip was seamless! Billy & Donna are excellent hosts. The cottage was clean and the property is loaded with things to do! I would not hesitate to recommend this accommodation... we had an amazing weekend and wished we could have stayed longer!

  • Billy and Donna are thoughtful hosts. They are quick to respond to requests and were very thoughtful. Their place is right on a beautiful lake, great for kids (toys and all!) and the kayaks and canoes were a great added touch. This is a lovely place to stay with friends or your family.

  • We spent a very enjoyable long weekend at the Blue Willow Cottage. The cottage is roomy with a great front porch to sit and read. Miss it already.

  • This is a beautiful cottage and very pretty lake. We really enjoyed being able to take the canoes out on the lake, and the breakfast that Nadene provides is delicious! Thank you Darren and Nadene!

    Shawn2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • Nadene and Darren were very welcoming and responsive hosts. They are a wealth of knowledge about the local area. Nadene's breakfasts were delicious and very much appreciated. The house was very clean and spacious. It was perfect for our family of 5 but it could easily accommodate a larger group. The house is a short walk from beautiful Deer Lake where we made good use of Nadene and Darren's kayaks and canoes. The lake was warm and perfect for swimming. We would definitely go back to Warbler's Roost in a heartbeat.

    Henry2019-08-21T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is perfect for a family. There was much to do such as visit the town, go to the nearby horse ranch, swim or canoe/ kayak at the lake(canoes and kayaks provided by the host). The cottage was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Darren and Nadene were very kind and friendly we had wonderful conversations. They were also very quick to respond and recommended places for us to go nearby. Breakfast was also delicious. The homemade muffins, the coffee and jams were what we looked forward to every morning. It was such a wonderful experience at warblers roost and we will definitely be back again.

    Saba2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A dog and people friendly spacious cottage with large windows. Beds are comfortable with fan right above you. There is an old piano and a fireplace which makes the place this much cozier. The lake is near. There is no beach but there are kayaks and canoes you can use if other tenants didn't take them first. The breakfast is served on the second floor of the the cottage right across from you. The breakfast was delicious with muffins, cottage cheese, home made jams, toast, coffee, juice and a great conversation with a host. Local museum with rocks and crystals is a MUST visit place!!!!!!! the collection is unbelievable.

  • Darren and Nadene are very caring hosts with hearts of gold. They have hosted my family a couple of times as they drove to see us. My family always tells me how kind and friendly they are. Nadene is quick to answer emails or take calls which is very helpful in unfamiliar territory!

  • Nadene and Darren are absolutely one of the nicest hosts we've ever met! Everything was just perfect, especially the lovely and artistic living room with masterpieces of art works on the wall. Nadene also prepared breakfast for the guests. She made the BEST coffee in the world. Lovely house, great view, yum breakfast- ideal place to run away from crowded toronto for a couple days.

    Li2015-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Darren and Nadene were exceptional hosts! Even before we arrived, they ensured that we knew how to get there (No thanks to google maps) and communicated in a warm and courteous manner. Despite our late arrival, Nadene was there to greet us and was more than happy to show us around and made sure we had everything we needed. During our stay, they were very flexible with when we wanted breakfast (very delicious!) and was accommodating to my alternate dietary requirements. Darren and Nadene were both around to help us with anything we needed (tips on sightseeing and restaurants; willing to take us to local trails; provide us with necessary equipment and instructions to use kayaks safely, etc). In terms of the accommodations, the pictures don't do it justice. The place was extremely clean, well kept, and in a great location (close enough to towns but far enough to be surrounded by nature's beauty). I would definitely recommend this if you're looking for the quiet weekend getaway! An added bonus: we got to learn about and experience a Sound Art installation first hand (Thanks for the CD's!)
