Perfect weekend getaway a short distance from London. Great location across from Jane Austen's house and only a short walk from the Library. Located between a cafe and a pup in a quiet village we could ask for no more.

My sister and I visited for a wedding and stayed two nights. The room was lovely, and Malena and company were very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast at Cassanda's Cup, the cafe next door, was a great bonus. I'd also like to say a special thank you to Ethan, who drove us back and forth to the wedding, and to the train station when we had to leave. Cheers! I'd definitely stay here again and recommend it to my friends.

We enjoyed our brief stay. The cottage is clean and cosy, and the location in the middle of Chawton is perfect. The breakfast served in the cafe next door was delicious so overall a brilliant experience. Will definitely come back.

We very much enjoyed our stay - we were welcomed on arrival, and met Marlene the next morning at breakfast. The listing for the property was accurate, and we felt that the whole experience was of a good standard. We particularly enjoyed the breakfasts! Scrambled eggs and smoked salmon was first class. It was also useful to be able to use the adding cafe for a lunch when our daughter and grandson visited Chawton.

I booked Cassandra's Cup B&B for my husband's relatives who were visiting from the United States. They had a fantastic stay and spoke highly of the welcome they received. In particular, they were impressed that the cafe opened especially to give them breakfast and by the wide choice of breakfast foods. They found the B&B room cosy and clean. It is in a great location - right across from Jane Austen's house. They returned from their overnight stay with nothing but positive things to say about Cassandra's Cup and the village of Chawton.

A beautiful and very peaceful retreat close to many places of interest. Very friendly hosts, very generous hospitality and plenty to see and do. Excellent guidebooks with plenty of walks from the doorstep, and beautiful towns and villages nearby to explore too. A wonderful long week-end.

This is a slice of the historic heart of Chawton with comfort of all modern conveniences. A truly beautiful house in its own grounds just round the corner from Jane Austen's house and Chawton House Library. Great place for walking in the steps of Jane. The house could not have been more perfect! It was a great getaway in a beautiful village with quaint little towns near by and countryside walks- exactly what we wanted. Tom couldn’t have been more helpful and welcoming and there was a loaf of bread, bottle of wine, butter, and milk in the kitchen on arrival. The beds were comfy, the house was clean and the kitchen well equipped. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

Tom and Jenny are great hosts, very friendly, kind and generous. The annex is a super space with a beautiful living room and dining room, its own kitchen and spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds and a lovely modern bathroom. It’s almost like having your own country cottage. Prowtings is in a very pretty classic English village, just a couple of doors away from Jane Austen’s house. There are plenty of country walks and quaint country pubs and tearooms. It is not far from Chawton House (where Jane Austen’s brother lived) with its library and collection of works by early women writers and there is also a pretty garden to visit. I had a lovely stay there. Thank you so much to Tom and Jenny for making my stay so special.

Charming! Tom & his wife Jenny and thier 2 children were wonderful hosts. My parents and I from Australia really enjoyed our stay. The accomadation was our own 2 storey cottage attached to their grand English home which is in a pretty street with Jane Austin's house just down the road. The cottage was charming with 2 large double rooms and a luxurious bathroom upstairs and a loung room, dining room, seperate kitchen and another bathroom downstairs. All the rooms have pretty views over the gardens and surrounding (URL HIDDEN) picture postcard! O'h and I must not forget the tea and warm crosaints and strawberry jam for breakfast..delish! Can't wait to stay again...thank you Tom & Jenny...see you again in the summer.

We wanted somewhere close to Farnham that had direct access links into London. Chawton is a beautiful and tranquil village with a pub and tea-room. Other than that everything is a drive away - which was fine for us. Jason's house is great. Beds are comfortable, bathrooms plentiful and a couple of good tables to sit and work from. Jason was a great host and responded quickly to any questions or queries we had. Would highly recommend this as a place to stay

This was a great house in a lovely part of the country. Lots of room for us and our 4 children. Living room, lovely and sunny in the morning. Kitchen a great place to cook and relax and bedrooms all very comfortable.

Peter and Julia are the most delightful of hosts. They made us feel welcome even before we arrived, with emails sent to make sure we would know how to find them. (Trust their directions). Their cottage is charming and set in a beautiful garden, and our room was clean, light and very tastefully decorated, with en suite. It was an easy level walk , mostly through the countryside, into Chawton and Jane Austen's house. We stayed for 2 nights and would have loved to have stayed for longer. We will most certainly be returning.

As we arrived, Sarah very kindly offered a cup of tea which we had in her lovely garden after she showed us our room. The room is as per the photos, very spacious and comfortable with a nice ensuite. It located at the top level, so it feels very private and separate from the rest of the house. The next morning, Sarah had also prepared the most amazing spread to cover any possible breakfast! It's a very peaceful neighbourhood and a pleasant walk distance to Chawton house and Jane Austen's museum. We would highly recommend Sarah.

Sarah was a fantastic welcoming host who made us feel right at home. She provided a lovely private room for us as well as give us access to her kitchen and sitting room. Neighborhood was quiet and a short walk to town. Plus Sarah knew of the best restaurant in Alton and a shortcut walking route to Chawton.

Sarah was very friendly and welcoming and her home is really lovely. Its in a quiet residential area just outside Alton's town centre - but with a bus route only a few minutes walk away, we found it easy to get to the Watercress Line for our day out! Sarah was happy to give us information about the town, and made us feel at home - showing us the house and facilities but allowing us space to settle in. We only stayed for one night but thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Communication was good prior to our arrival, everything was very straightforward and Sonia made us very welcome. Lovely self-contained studio, modern and clean. Nice and spacious with a good bathroom with excellent shower. Don't be put off by the fact that it is a sofa bed - the bed is very comfortable and we had a good night's sleep. Tea & coffee making facilities were provided and Sonia cooked us a lovely breakfast in the morning. A fantastic stay and we will definitely be back when we're next in the area.

Kirsten made my stay very pleasant and comfortable. She was so kind to offer me to use her coffee and eggs for breakfast as I came late from the party I had to attend. The room is as seen on the photos and is very clean. The bathroom is nice, very clean and has a good space. I really enjoyed staying with her and if I go back to Alton, I will for sure go back. It is very close to the train station and also not far to walk to the centre.

My stay with Gill was really nice. Everyone in the house is warm and friendly, and I felt at home. I loved having breakfast (provided) in a bright kitchen/ dining area with the view of the garden, which was lovely to sit in on sunny days. The area is quiet and i was able to get a good rest. All in all I can recommend Gill and her home.

I had a lovely stay here. Amanda is a wonderful host who was always available and in contact before my stay so we could arrange a mutually convenient time to check in. The room was very large, clean, spacious and extremely comfortable. All the little amenities like water, towels, tea and coffee, shower and even an ironing board were available. She is a master chef and made some spectacular brownies for me! The apartment has parking at the back, and there is a Sainsburys directly opposite which was very useful. The apartment is on the high street itself and so can be a little noisy at night (Friday and Saturday but to be honest the bed was so comfortable that I was in deep sleep in no time and wasnt disturbed at all. Amanda has a beautiful cat called Charlie who always welcomed me home at night by meeting me at my car and escort me to the front door! Amanda is an excellent conversationalist and has a wealth of travelling experiences we chatted about. I have already decided to book in with her again next year!

Amanda gave me a warm and friendly welcome. There was fresh fruit and home made chocolate brownies in the large bedroom and a super comfy bed with lots of pillows. In the centre of Alton and very quiet at night even with the window open. I'll definitely stay at Amanda's flat again.

Amanda was a fantastic host. I took her up on the offer of a meal and it was truly phenomenal. She catered to all my dietary requirements. I recommend having a meal here, she is a fantastic chef. Not only was the meal lovely, but she also made me a packed lunch and breakfast for the next day. Amanda and her son Max made me feel really welcome. I sat on the balcony for a while after arriving and they gave me the time and space I needed after doing a really long walk (day 4 on a walk from Canterbury to Winchester). Amanda was also flexible with the check in time as I wasn't sure when I'd arrive. They also let me borrow a charger (even though they only had one) so that I could charge my phone and battery pack ready for the next day, it may seem like a small thing, however, without that my final day of walking would've been a lot more challenging without GPS. Flat is very beautifully decorated and furnished. Very clean. Bedroom is lovely with super comfy bed. After having my meal and a bath I spent the later part of the evening talking with Amanda and getting to know her. She is a very interesting woman, she provided me with the right level of 'mothering' and care I needed after undertaking a tough physical and psychological challenge. I really enjoyed meeting her and getting to know her. Would highly recommend staying here.

The farm is idyllic, a beautiful period house however the annexe needs some serious decorating upgrade. Peeling paint and shabby floor coverings throughout. Although the fridge had provisions for us it wasn't turned on! Wifi virtually nonexistent which made our stay difficult to say the least. Perhaps put off by the hosts derogatory comments about Airbnb guests compared to her higher paying regular guests. Would not stay again.

Very beautiful and clean house in a quiet location but only a couple of minutes (driving, possibly 10 walking, but I was too lazy to try) away from the local pubs and shops. It felt like home. This is a beautiful, historic house on a gorgeous piece of property--many acres of gardens, horse pastures, and a pond. Ann greeted us with tea on the terrace when we arrived and made us a reservation for dinner at a local pub. The family was welcoming. We had the third floor (two bedrooms with a bathroom in between). The rooms were comfortable and quiet. We were free to wander the grounds and relax in the downstairs sitting room. Breakfast the next morning was delicious. We wish we could have stayed longer!

Our group of 7 had a great time at Wyards Farm. Our trip had a Jane Austen theme and Ann gave us good information about this house where Jane Austen visited her niece. Rooms were pleasant with plenty of bathrooms to go around. We very much enjoyed breakfast in the beautiful dining room. The family were around but we had all the privacy we could have wanted. We would love to return with our daughters!

I had a fantastic time at wyards with Ann and her husband Bill. Breakfast was delicious, the room was unbelievably comfortable and there were fresh flowers in my bedroom! The house is beautiful and it was a real treat to have a swim in the morning and look round the amazing gardens, where Jane Austen used to walk around! I can't recommend the house enough, and if I find myself in the area will definitely stay with ann.

Ann made us all feel very welcome and we really enjoyed our stay - the rooms were very comfortable, and we were only disturbed by more birdsong than we were used to in London! Breakfast was delicious and the house and gardens were beautiful and we would definitely return if we come back to the area. This B&B is particularly good for groups, as it has a private entrance and small kitchen for guests.

A place to lose yourself in, a lovely host very informative and responsive. Brighton and London within easy reach by train and a lovely steam train passing through only 5minutes away.

We were given a great welcome by Gill, who opened up her home for us and, as she happened to have her daughter and little grandson visiting at the time, we felt part of the family straightaway. We had a very comfortable spacious room, clean bathroom, shower etc next to our room. In the morning, Gill provided a FANTASTIC breakfast table, - cereals, warm croissants, fresh rolls, jams, cheeses, freshly brewed coffee, selection of teas, - we ate so much, we didn't need any lunch that day! Gill is a keen gardener and has a lovely garden. The house is in a quiet lane off the high street in Alton. Alton is a pretty little village, within easy driving distance of Winchester and surrounding areas.
