This comfortable, updated stone-built cottage is the ideal base for an adventurous break in the Snowdonia National Park. At the base of the Nant Peris Valley, one of the most dramatic in Britain, it is perfectly located for climbing Snowdon. The accommodation is great for one or two couples, or a small family. In our tiny village of Nant Peris we have a great local pub with ales, good food and an inglenook fire a stroll from your front door. Castles, beaches and adventures- Snowdonia has it all.
The ground floor is open plan. The lounge/diner area has a satellite TV and WIFI, although it's not the fastest! The area is centrally heated in cold weather and there is a log effect heater for any chilly evenings. Off the lounge/diner is the secondary sleeping area, with purpose built settee converting to a 6'6'' long double bed. The kitchen has an electric range style cooker with grill and fan ovens along with a fridge, freezer, dishwasher, microwave and coffee machine etc. Upstairs is the bedroom with standard double bed, wardrobe, chest of drawers etc. The bathroom is en-suite and has bath with shower over, basin/vanity mirror and toilet.
Nant Peris is a small village with a long history. It is much older than the nearby, larger village of Llanberis. We have no shop but we do have our Pub and 14th century church. For shopping,Restaurants etc a short drive or 25 minute walk gets you to Llanberis, which is also a centre for outward bound pursuits including climbing, canoeing, wild swimming, paddle boarding, triathlons and the list goes on... The Royal Town of Caernarfon with its World Heritage 13th century castle, Roman fort etc is easily accessible by bus or car and offers supermarkets and a larger range of shops, restaurants and so on. While here why not visit the REAL castle of Merlin the Magician, or a unique coastal hilltop stone age village-no entry fees !
  • A lovely place in a great location. Tom was an exceptional host. A great few days so thank you and I would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a few days.

  • We had a great stay at Tom’s cottage. A lovely, well equipped little house with everything you might need - great to have a big kitchen with a nespresso machine etc! Cosy and warm. The location is unbeatable - 5 mins drive from both llanberis and the pen y pass car park. Beautiful views outside and a great traditional pub next door! Tom was lovely and very hospitable during our stay. Thank you!

  • Lovely place to stay in a fantastic location. Would stay again!

  • Tom’s hospitality, warm welcome and attentiveness was a great addition to our amazing time staying in Nant Peris for our Snowdon climb. Highly recommend this accommodation with an added bonus of a good old traditional boozer next door having great pub grub.

  • Excellent location, well kept. Tom is very knowledgable about the local area and is a superb host.

    Will2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Very modern and much more spacious than we expected very quite location but that’s what we wanted very neutral to explore the natural Beaty of Snowdonia thanks Tom for being a great host

    Pamela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We’d like to thank Tom so much for his hospitality during our stay in the cottage. We had a lovely time despite the weather being pretty awful, but it was a lovely break away. The cottage was pretty much what we had expected from reading the reviews and Tom couldn’t have been a better host. We really appreciated his quick responses to our messages and he was even kind enough to give us a lift into the village one evening to save on taxi fares. We weren’t able to get up Snowdon this time due to the weather but it is perfectly situated for it and we may be back in the summer! ☺️ There is WiFi however this can be a bit temperamental and slow, and with there being no signal, it’s perfect for anyone wanting to shut off the real world for a few days - although we did get signal just a few minutes drive away. There is a lovely little pub next door which do nice food and has a nice open fire! Overall we enjoyed our quiet break away and the cottage is nice and cosy. Would definitely recommend!

    Laura2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding hospitality and fabulous location. Tom lives right next door and is a wonderful host; there if you need him with speedy responses, but otherwise leaves you to it. Cottage is clean and homely with plenty of amenities. It's right next to a public footpath which trails being the property into beautiful views. Big supermarkets are about 20mins drive away, but there's a Spar in Llanberis which is 5 mins drive away. Thanks again Tom for a lovely stay!

Welcome to our newly converted chalet located at the bottom of our garden at the foot of the Carneddau Mountain Range in Bethesda. It contains a brand new small kitchen with all basic utensils, pots, pans, kettle, toaster and electric hobs. We also supply tea, coffee and milk. The bed is a SOFA BED. It is a stones throw away from the famous 'Zipworld' (15 min walk) and the Carneddau mountain range (10 min walk), and a short drive from Snowdon (15 min). Perfect location to experience Snowdonia.
The chalet is located at the bottom of our garden. Newly converted it is the ideal location for exploring all that Snowdonia has to offer. You’re more than welcome also to use our spacious garden. Parking is a problem in the area but not at Fron Isaf where you will have your own parking bay.
Bethesda is a vibrant working town. The Penrhyn Slate Quarry, now home to Zip World, used to be the largest Slate Quarry in the world, employing up to 3000 workers at its hight. Today the number is far lower and tourism has become more important. Nevertheless the spirit of the village and its Welshnes lives on in its residents. The George (Y Sior) is a 5 minute walk from the property. Serving locally brewed cask ales and a warm Welsh welcome I would recomend a visit. If you choose not to use the newly installed kitchen in the Fron Isaf there is ample choice of food available on the high street and nearby. Ranging from take aways to resteraunts. Bethesda is a haven for walkers. Close to all the major mountain ranges of Snowdonia and within walking distance (literally a couple of minutes walk) of the Carneddau mountain range. Buses also run all day from Bethesda through Nant Francon towards Cwm Idwal and Llyn Ogwen and Capel Curig amd Betws y Coed.
  • We really enjoyed our stay! Great location and value for money 😆

    Joanna2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • Both hosts are really helpful with tips on what to do around the area, there if you need them for anything. The space was sparkling clean and cosy when we arrived with amenities available like milk, cereal, tea and coffee.

    Beth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views of Snowdonia from the parking location for the cabin. If you don't expect too much from the squeaky sofa bed then everything else about the cabin is really nice and cosy! Maybe bring earplugs if heavy rain noise particularly bothers you.

    Beth2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay. The location was perfect for us, everywhere we wanted to go was a short drive, and the high street was a five minute walk. The cabin was cute and cosy, even with storm Dennis going on. Definitely be back again (:

    Jade2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow... Perfect for a break away & for one or two xxx Stunning location & cosy 🙌

    Diane2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin for a quick weekend away in the beautiful Welsh countryside! The cabin had everything we needed, from towels, to pots and pans, and even some yummy welsh cakes on arrival! We visited during Storm Ciara, and the only thing to keep in mind is that the rain and wind can be quite noisy when you’re in a little shed - so maybe take some earplugs if you’re a light sleeper!! But overall, this could not have been a more lovely place to stay! Hopefully we will visit again when the sun is shining :)

    Evie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cosy space with a very tidy and homely feel to it. We arrived a little later than expected after a long drive, and got speedy communication throughout the booking process and on updating the hosts with our arrival time. The cabin is equipped with everything you need, I feel the space has been utilised very well. On reading other reviews about the bed, we ended up bringing a spare duvet and propped the sofa bed with pillows and managed to get decent and a comfy sleep with these additions. For a cabin, the heating and the portable heater was useful and effective to keep us warm! The location of this place is excellent for taking trips to snowdonia and surrounding areas, and was excellent value for what we paid for our stay. There are some lovely views too from the cabin of the surrounding areas. Thanks again for our stay, I would definitely recommend for a short trip if you are exploring north wales.

We have a floor mattress or a camp bed if needed.
The room has a single bed, however we have a floor mattress or camp bed, sleeping bags, duvets and pillows for a second guest if needed. • Perfect location for a weekend break in North Wales. We were able to walk to zip world from the cottage and took the scenic route through the back gate directly into the forest. The cottage exceeded all expectations and was more of a home away from home with lovely small touches like fresh flowers. Communication with Ceri was brilliant and she was on hand providing useful tips, no issues with check in/out and next time we head to North Wales we will most defiently go back.

    Georgie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had the most marvellous time at Ceri's miners cottage. It looks so tiny from the outside, big on the inside! It has been thoughtfully redecorated inside with lots of light, a lovely fireplace and a great kitchen. Ceri was on hand and greeted us as soon as we arrived (a little later than planned!) Two bedrooms, one on the ground with step-free access to bathroom, and one on the first floor with access to the garden. Great access to local sites. We visited the slate museum, ate at local restaurants (15 min walk away) and don't miss the Zip World!!

    Sarah2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely cottage with wonderful hostess. Ceri provided lovely welcoming touches and communication was faultless, quick and thorough. Location is great for adventures yet it’s very quiet. We found the cottage clean, spacious and really homely. It was also incredibly warm and cosy. Really couldn’t fault it!

    Christine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A gorgeous, cosy cottage with plenty of space to relax. Perfect location with lots of things to do and fantastic walks if you get the weather!! The log fire is the perfect way to a end a day where you can enjoy a drink and completely relax!! Everything you can think of is on hand in the cottage to use even books and games for the kids!! An amazing cottage that is more than we could ever have imagined!! xxxx

    Michelle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • An excellent location situated in the gorgeous Snowdonia national park. The accommodation is sparkly clean and has wonderful little touches like fresh flowers, food in the fridge and even chocolate buttons for my son. A selection of games and books to keep little ones entertained as well. The garden is lovely but not easily accessible if you have limited mobility. Perfect for a weekend away or a longer stay. Perfect hosts who went above and beyond.

    Grace2020-02-14T00:00:00Z

A very unique cosy property converted from an old stone outbuilding. The cottage is on the bank of the Caseg river and surrounded by a quiet garden, providing an excellent retreat, while only 5 minutes walk from the amenities of the local village Bethesda. Take a local walk in the Ogwen valley, to Zip World or access climbing, walking, mountain biking and kayaking activities in Snowdonia directly from the cottage. A relaxing evening soak in the hot tub can be recommended.
The driveway leads to plenty of parking. A paved patio area with seating and BBQ / fire pit adjoins the garden with the river only 5m away. A storage shed for wet gear and equipment is next to the front door. Once inside, a compact kitchen comprises of a double hob, oven, kettle, toaster and fridge. There is seating around the table for four. The living and dining area then leads through to a double bedroom and separate wet shower room and toilet. The entire cottage has under floor heating. A large secluded hot tub can be enjoyed at the rear of the cottage next to the river.
The main house and cottage is set in a secluded, large, riverside garden. Bethesda town has many amenities - pubs, take aways, a small Tesco and Londis. It is possible to walk from the house almost without using any roads to complete leisurely local walks down to the river Ogwen, to Zip World (restaurant) or to access the Carneddi mountain range. Kayakers with experience can paddle from the garden down the Caseg river before joining the Ogwen, one of the best rivers for white water in Wales. More gentle water activities can be had on the lake at Llanberis and there are numerous wild swimming opportunities. We have a number of canoes and kayaks available to loan, but you do so at your own risk! Mountain bike trails are plentiful in the area, or quiet roads for those that prefer. Rock climbing and bouldering are easily accessed in the Ogwen or Llanberis Valley. For those that prefer, the beaches and surfing on Anglesey are only a 30 minute drive. North Wales has a wide range of tourist attractions for visitors of all ages, including castles, National Trust properties, Zip World, Bounce Below, Tree Tops, the Great Orme, Llanberis slate museum and Electric Mountain, The Greenwood Centre , Foel Farm and the Anglesey Sea Zoo all on our doorstep. Bangor, Caernarfon, Conwy and Llandudno all have great restaurants, cafes and pubs, as well as theatres and cinemas.
  • Perfect place if you're looking to escape for the weekend. Hosts are very quick to respond and offer solutions to any questions/problems.

    Hannah2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, well-kept bungalow in a picturesque location. Easy to get to local amenities, and very easy to access walks in Snowdonia.

  • If you’re looking for a weekend getaway in a peaceful area filled with fantastic views of welsh mountains, this is the property for you! Myself and my partner had a fantastic stay here. It was about a 15 minute walk to the fastest zip line in the world and we fully recommend staying here if you intend to visit zip world! The views around the property were incredible. Having the waterfall run behind the cottage made the stay even more relaxing. After coming off the zip line and having an explore around the area we came back to the cottage for a dip in the hot tub! Which was an extra special treat! Nick and Lesley were so friendly and welcoming, we couldn’t have asked for better hosts!

    Ellie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Set with backdrop of Snowdonia hills and next to a little river. 5-10 min walk to local shops, cafes and pubs. Ideal for walks into Snowdonia, although due to the storms we didn't manage any. Hot tub was a best part! Clean, spacious and warm 😀 Already recommended to family and friends and we'll be back for sure.

    Elliott2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location by the stream, a good base for relaxing after a hike up Snowden or an action packed day at Zipworld. Great communications and having a private hot tub, to soak all your aches away is a total bonus.

    Andy2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Had the most amazing two nights here, this place is honestly so lovely - the pictures don't it justice!!! The little cottage has everything you need and more, the hot tub is such a nice extra and the area is beautiful with very impressive waterfalls and right on the edge of snowdonia. Couldn't have asked for anything better and we are already looking into dates when we can come back in the summer!!

  • Lovely little space, perfect for a weekend away. Nestled into the hillside with an incredible view of the hills, quarry and town. Andrew and Karen are fantastic hosts, very caring and welcoming, on hand for anything. They even sent us messages throughout our stay ensuring we were comfortable, happy and safe (there was a bad storm one of the days). The homely touches inside the space made it feel very comfortable and warm. Would 100% recommend. Will stay again

The bathroom is a small space but it works, it’s all you need if your staying for a night or two. Very stylish and love that it has a big tv on the wall plus a microwave which is also a grille and oven. Wound highly recommended this place. Amazing views across snowdonia and you can see the zip wire coming down the mountains. Great hosts very friendly.

  • My partner and I had the best two night break in the pod. It was very romantic, and the views were stunning. The local village was gorgeous and had everything we needed and the locals were lovely too. Only a 15 minute drive to the Miners Track to climb Snowdon too so all-in-all this pod was perfect for us, especially with the hot tub under the stars after our walk. Kirsty was an amazing host, we were left to ourselves but she was only a message away and was very quick at replying to us.

    Amy2019-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely amazing place to stay, perfect location if you want to climb snowdon which is what we did only 20min drive away. Pod and hot tub were amazing with few hidden extras such as charging points + extra fire wood. Pod was so warm and cozy couldn’t believe it and the views when you wake up on the morning spectacular!!! Would def recommend to anyone

  • We had a fantastic stay in the cosy pod! The views were amazing! Thoughtful touch having a charging pod, extra blanket, towels, wood and fire pit. Great location! The wood fired hot tub was a must! Really helped after a long day hiking. It takes a few hours to heat up but stays warm for hours.

    Laurie2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and beautiful surrounding. We used the hot tub in the morning, climbed snowdonia and came back and it was still warm enough for post-relaxation. Wonderful weekend away here, amazing value ♥️ Ps. We had a wonderful neighbouring pod who we shared a bbq and morning breakfast with (absolute bonus)

Cottage set on a working farm on the southern slopes of Snowdon. Great access to Snowdon, Yr Aran and the Nantlle Ridge from the doorstep. Off road cycling paths across the road in Beddgelert Forest. A good pub and food just 1 mile away in Rhyd Ddu.
Your own private hot tub with superb views towards Moel Hebog and Yr Ogof.
  • Wonderful cottage set in the heart of the Snowdonia mountains. Incredible views, ideal peaceful location. Cottage itself was bigger than expected, as were the barn and hot tub! Clean spacious rooms, huge bathroom, bath tub and shower. The wood fire was a lovely addition, as were the extra treats received upon arrival which really made our trip extra special. Wonderful hospitality, Rosie honestly couldn’t do enough for us and gave us some good recommendations for local walks etc. Thank you so much again for everything Rosie!

  • What can I say !!! The place was amazing everything and more than what we expected. The place is situated perfectly with the added bonus of a direct path to snowdon behind the cottages. The log burner and hottub were a great bonus and being able to help yourself to fire wood was also a nice touch. Rosie and her husband were amazing hosts although we only met briefly they made us feel right at home offering us plenty of information on the local area etc. The cottage was sparkling clean and very well equipped with everything that you would need. The bed is very comfortable also. I would really reccomend anyone to visit you will not be disappointed. The views are also spectacular. Overall amazing break away thank you to rosie. Hopefully see you again soon

Celyn is situated in the magical valley of Nant Gwynant, right in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park. It's incredibly fortunate to be one of the very few cottages in Snowdonia that is only a 10 minute walk from the Watkin Path, a spectacular route up Snowdon. From the cottage itself you are afforded the most awe-inspiring views of the Snowdon Range. The cottage has been recently refurbished & sleeps 4 people in 2 double rooms. It has everything you need to have an enjoyable holiday.
Sleeps four, two bedrooms, both with kingsize beds & all linen provided. One bathroom with WC, bidet, sink & bath with shower over the top. Towels provided. Fully equipped kitchen/diner with cooker, hob, microwave, dishwasher, fridge / small freezer. Cosy lounge with log burner (initial fuel provided) , 4 seater sofa, smart TV with DVD player Washing machine, tumble dryer & drying room for wet gear. WiFi is availble, although sometimes slow, it works well in communal areas. Celyn has a large garden with spectacular views. Outdoor seating & bbq/firepit provided. There is ample parking. The drive is steep but there are options to park at the bottom. We will contact you on the day of your booking to let you know check in details.
THE VALLEY - Nant Gwynant Directly from the bottom of the drive you can walk along the Glaslyn river, which has its source from the top lake of Snowdon and flows out into the Irish Sea at Porthmadog. A ten minute walk down river will take you to the start of the Watkin Path - a spectacular route up Snowdon, taking you through ancient oak woodland, besides waterfalls and blue pools, ruins of old mines, and finally up to the summit of Snowdon itself. Caffi Gwynant is also on your doorstep, serving delicious local food. Two lakes are also within easy reach. There is Llyn Dinas - a beautiful lake around which skirts a well-marked path to the picturesque and historic village of Beddgelert. And, in the opposite direction, is Llyn Gwynant. From here, depending on the season, you can hire canoes, paddles boards etc., and eat stone-baked pizzas by the lake, giving you time to appreciate the awe-inspiring views. CLOSEST VILLIAGE - Beddgelert This picturesque, Welsh village lies just 3.8 miles from Celyn (7 min drive). It is a MUST SEE, and worth spending ample time to soak up the historic atmosphere and its gorgeous surroundings. There is a good selection pubs, cafes, gift shops, a local shop, post office, church, and a fantastic ice-cream parlour! The world famous Welsh highland railway passes directly through Beddgelert, taking you on a memorable journey through some unforgettable locations. Beginning in Beddgelert, there is wide variety of walks that will take you through forests, up mountains, along the Glasyn river as its cuts and plunges its way through the mighty Aberglaslyn gorge, and walks that will take you back to Celyn. CLOSEST TOWN - Porthmadog Porthmadog is a small Welsh coastal town. It lies 11.4 miles from Celyn (23min drive). It has major supermarkets and all you would need from a town. It developed in the 19th century as a port exporting slate to England and elsewhere, but since the decline of the industry it has become a shopping centre and tourist destination. Porthmadog is the terminus of the Ffestiniog Railway. Within walking distance are the pretty seaside villages of Borth-y-guest & Morfa Bychan. The welsh coastal path passes through Porthmadog, taking walkers along the banks of the Glaslyn Estuary, providing views of mountain peaks and shimmering bays. If you are lucky you might also spot Ospreys hunting over the waters during the summer season before they migrate to Africa in the early autumn. Porthmerion is also nearby, a famous, and otherworldly Italianate-styled town situated on the banks of the Dwyrd estuary. SNOWDON - Routes up WATKIN PATH is a 10 minute walk from the cottage. It is one of the quieter and tougher routes up Snowdon. MINERS & PYG TRACK starts at Pen Y pass carpark - 11min (4.7 mi). They are arguably the most popular routes up Snowdon. CRIB COCH is an iconic grade 1 scramble and not for the inexperinced! Start point is Pen Y Pass car park. LLANBERIS PATH - 23min (10.3 mi) this is the easiest route up Snowdon. The Snowdon railway also leaves from Llanberis. SNOWDON RANGER, RHYD DHU & SOUTH RIDGE are other less popular routes to the summit and are all within 10 miles away from Celyn. If you want to hike mountains less travelled then see below... MOUNTAINS - Distances from Celyn There are many mountains to walk in Snowdonia,. • The pods are super cute and we were very cozy with the down duvets! A very nice experience overall. The owner gave us some great tips for walking and leant us a map. The price is maybe a little steep but the novelty of staying in a wee wooden hut explains that. One other thing! The showers are amazing. Very powerful and hot. Great stuff. Has everything you need for a short stay.

    Antonia2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay at the camping pods! Really quick communication before arrival and we were able to check in earlier than 12pm which was so helpful. In a great location for Snowdon, easily connected to other Snowdon routes and nearby villages by bus. Kitchen and bathroom facilities were always clean. Would definitely recommend for a trip to be in the heart of Snowdonia.

  • The snowdonia pod is the perfect location for anyone who enjoys being surrounded by beautiful scenery and hiking. Located in the valley of various mountains and near to a lake, the pod is ideal for walking and exploring. We stayed here for 2 nights and I was so gutted that we hadn't booked for longer. Everyone was so welcoming and Kirsty was there to answer any questions we had about our stay. We couldn't recommend it more for anyone that loves being in the great outdoors, it was especially nice watching the stars from the hot tub, that was a huge bonus!

    Alex2019-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved it here, the location, the pod, the cooking equipment. Cannot fault it. Hot tub is a nice addition too. Would definitely stay again and have recommended it to many friends who have seen the photos and asked where it is. Quirky and lovely!

Communication was very easy and self check-in made the whole process very flexible. Wi-Fi worked very well which we were grateful for as signal in Beddgelert wasn't the best. The smart TV with access to Netflix and Amazon Prime made the stay even more comfortable! I'd recommend this place :)

Great facilities, easy parking, and lovely hot shower to come back to after a long walk. Internet was good too which was great for planning days out. Would happily stay again.

  • Very cozy, comfortable and private space. Excellent town centre location.

    Scott2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing stay at Jo’s place! The little apartment is spacious and perfect for a couple’s stay - lots of homely touches like toiletries available if you’ve forgotten anything, tea and coffee for your stay and of course, a gorgeous log burner set up ready to light! Only two minutes walk to the local pubs and shop and some excellent hiking routes right on the doorstep. Parking right outside the door a real bonus. Jo very kindly popped over to offer a free night’s stay on check out as the weather was really terrible as we were due to leave with road closures etc. Luckily we made it home, but it was a super thoughtful touch. Thanks again for a fab stay in a gorgeous place!

    Laura2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

    Jake2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect little haven that is well equipped and cared for- lovely little extras such as ice cubes in the freezer and the bathroom had an emergency drawer that was free to use with toothbrushes and toothpaste etc... just in case you forget yours! The log burner was made up ready to be lit and Wow it throws out some heat! Even a hot water bottle was left out on the bed :) The CWT is Spotlessly clean and I couldn't fault it in anyway shape or form. I would happily visit again.

  • We had a fabulous stay in the cottage. Views were spectacular and it was lovely to stay in such an unspoilt place - but slippers are a must at this time of year. Great walks all around and easy to day trip from here too.

  • Absolutely loved this cottage! It is a magical place! The weather was quite cold and extremely windy when we went but Jacky's description of the cottage had prepared us. If you go in winter months you need to accept that you're going to get cold! Building the fire is part of the fun! If it's been particularly damp I'd advise taking some dry newspaper with you to help start the fire. There's plenty to do in the area especially if you like walking. Lake Padarn has some easy to follow routes. And of course snowdon if the weather is with you. We had an excellent weekend and I hope we can return again soon.

  • Such a spiritual place. I painted for the first time in 15 years. Hard to explain the beauty of this little nest. Felt truly lovely.

  • This was one of those picturesque cottages that you drive past and say “wouldn’t it be nice to live there” well we did for 3 days and it’s was so peaceful and lovely

  • This spot is complete tranquility in rural countryside. We loved that it was remote and quiet and even saw a meteor shower. The road is liable to flooding in heavy rain but nothing to worry about just have supplies. There is a little pub about 10mins walk with real ales. The best part is you can walk everywhere from the place if you don't want to use your car. It can be a bit cold and damp but get the fire going and it will not only warm you up but it will dry out your clothes if it's a wet day. Would definitely recommend.

  • Thank you Jacky for a great stay we had a the best time! The cottage is full of character and really cosy when the fire was lit. The views are amazing and we will definitely recommend our friends to stay and would like to come back in the summer 😀

A beautiful cottage in the Llanberis Pass, occupying a stunning spot on Snowdon itself. Bordered by a stream and river; access is across a private wooden bridge. Incredible views and straight up onto the mountain for walkers and climbers. *1 dog permitted only by prior agreement - due to livestock etc - and a £20 pet fee, to be paid on arrival.
Delightful mountain cottage in the heart of the Welsh 3000s, with direct routes up to the peak of Snowdon, Crib Goch, the Glyders and Tryfan. Wake up each day to enjoy the fascinating and ever changing landscape, enjoying that first coffee/tea overlooking a mountain stream. We keep free range rescue chickens, so there is a steady supply of eggs for you to purchase at low cost if you want fresh eggs for breakfast.
Your local pub is the Vaynol Arms in Nant Peris and serves real ale; a dog-friendly climbers/walkers pub. It's around 15 minutes walk away and the lanes can be pitch black at night, so bring a torch :) A short drive further up the Llanberis Pass is the Pen y Gwryd hotel, where Hillary and Tenzing trained for the first successful ascent of Mount Everest in 1953. They signed the ceiling, so don't forget to look out for that! The bar is famous for its photos of mountaineers who have trained on Snowdon for Everest.
  • Amazing little cottage at the bottom of Snowdon. Had a great time!

  • We absolutely loved Ty Maen and the breathtaking scenery. Finding ourselves sandwiched between storm Ciara and Dennis certainly made it a wild week. The cottage was a welcome and comfortable retreat to both shelter from and observe the dramatic weather conditions and would be a lovely place to return to after a day in the mountains. Lisa and Chris were fantastic hosts and worked incredibly hard to help us ferry our belongings to the cottage when we arrived. They also make awesome welsh cakes.

  • A perfectly located cottage for exploring North Wales. Communication with Joanna was great; her instructions on how to find the cottage were clear and the folder full of local walks, restaurant/pub recommendations in the cottage was a thoughtful extra. We really enjoyed our stay at Joanna’s place and would recommend to anyone looking to holiday in North Wales.

  • Fantastic little cottage in the most idyllic location. There’s not many places you can have a 6 mile hike with the dogs from the front door! Amazing touches, the biscuits went down a treat after our long walk! I loved that Joanna was so organised and gave us some really wonderful walk recommendations, too. It really helped us plan our stay!

  • Joanna is one of the best hosts we have experienced through Airbnb... she is attentive to details and made us feel like we were right at home. She was always responding our queries promptly and gave us all the information needed to make our stay as great as possible. We hope to come back one day to explore wales hopefully in a drier weather condition :) Thanks Joanna!!! We really appreciate you sharing your home with us ♡

  • We came for a hiking weekend and loved the cottage. It's cosy, clean and had everything we needed and more. Loved the fireplace after being battered by wind and rain all day on our hike! Joanna was super helpful with directions and recommendations for walks and pubs (note the village is small, so options at walking distance are limited, but that's part of the charm!)

    Ellen2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful cottage perfectly situated within snowdonia. Would highly recommend!

    Mark2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is exactly as described with everything provided, a real home from home. Joanna was very friendly - warm and welcoming. She knows a great deal about the area and has provided a lot of useful information on where to go to eat/shop/walk etc.. We went in February and although it was cold and wet we had a wonderful time exploring. There is so much to see and do - no time to be bored. The scenery is breathtaking and we found some great beaches. Definitely worth a visit.

  • This is a wonderful cottage for a cosy stay. Anna was very helpful and getting in was easy. The cottage is beautifully done inside. Everything you need for a cosy couple of days. Perfect for 2 or 3 people. It is a 10 min walk from the local village and a well stocked tesco express. There is parking but in a lay by on the main road next to the house. There is a wonderful wooden staircase but it may not be suitable for someone with reduced mobility. Overall a really lovely stay would definitely recommend.

  • We’ve had a great time at Anna’s place. It’s a lovely, little cottage with everything you need to relax and unwind. We’ve stayed for four nights and enjoyed every minute of it. The location is great as there’s so much to do in the area. Even the welsh weather was on our side. Anna was in touch all the way through our stay and made sure we’ve settled in. I would recommend this place to anyone, whether you just want to unwind or make the most of the beauty of North Wales.

  • This is a very lovely cottage. Quirky. Log fire which we now know how to light and it makes for a superbly cosy lounge. Heating very effective. Not a lot of headroom above the main bed but you learn quickly! Laid out very well and very clean. Kitchen well stocked with crockery and cutlery. Spacious private bedroom on Bethesda High Street with a beautiful view to the mountains. Just a couple of doors down from a number of take-aways and Londis, a 5 minute walk to Tesco Extra and a couple of local coffee shops. Just 10 minutes drive from Bangor town. It's really close to the event venue Neuadd Ogwen, which holds lovely concerts and films. The house is on the A5 that leads to Bangor, Snowdonia National Park, Zip World and Betws-y-Coed.
The bedroom is on the second floor of the house, it takes two flights of stairs to get there. The space is very quiet with a beautiful view to the mountains.
If you come on a weekend, we really recommend Fitzpatrick's for coffee and food, also walks around Parc Meurig and the cycling tracks around Ogwen Valley. Also visit the pottery shop and attend the gigs at Neuadd Ogwen.
  • Nice cozy room, good parking outside if you can get it!

  • Very accommodating host, last minute booking and late arrival wasn’t a problem. Beautiful view from the bedroom was a lovely surprise in the morning.

  • Perfect for an overnight stay. Very understanding even when we arrived at 12:30 am in the midnight because of a late ferry ride

  • Perfect for yourself and two mates to hold up on a weekend adventure. Maria was fabulously welcoming and made herself available to assist with queries on local places to eat and any other questions we had. The space is clean and tidy, bedding and towels provided and I usually have trouble sleeping in bunk houses, so a night in a warm comfy bed at Maria's went down a treat, especially when you stack the price up against a local bunk house and with towels and bedding provided! I also had the privilege of overhearing some of her guitar work - so relaxing, put me right to sleep for a cheeky pre-dinner nap! Last note, use Air B&B directions, or you'll end up knocking on the wrong door probably... No doubt he'll be expecting you. apparently happens a lot! Thanks again Maria.

  • A super stylish interior and excellently placed for the zip world.

    Kate2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Aled’s home. Very welcoming and comfortable and so wonderful that we could take our dog with us! Perfectly situated to enjoy the beauty of Snowdonia. Aled was so helpful as we needed to replace our car tyres while there and he provided the details of a local garage. Highly recommended!

    Kate2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A beautifully presented home with everything you need. Perfectly positioned for the mountains!

    Kyle2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Aled was such a wonderful host! When we arrived the house was as amazing if not more beautiful than we expected. It was so cosy and Aled has kindly left a hamper of some snacks and essentials which was a lovely touch. The weather was pretty awful because of the storm but having a log burner made it feel so wonderful staying in and snuggling up on the sofa. The decor was so beautiful that it immediately made us relax. We really hope to stay next time we visit Snowdon!

    Rebecca2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for walking. Great views. The front room is super cosy helped along by the log burner. Very stylish place. That hill is super steep so heeds Aleds advice. Great value for money and would definitely recommend to stay here.

    Tracy2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous house. Clean, tidy and everything you could need. Lovely garden for our dogs with a lovely view. Aled went above and beyond to make our stay the best! The welcome hamper he left for us was so thoughtful, especially the bottle of fizz! He replied almost straight away to any questions we had, brilliant. One of the best weekends away we’ve had using air b&b. Not only was the house spot on but the people in the near by town were so friendly. It really made our New Year’s Eve go off with a bang! Hopefully we will be returning as not only did we enjoy it our two dogs and our friends dog also had a wail of a time. Superb 🙌

  • Christine and Emyr are great hosts and lovely conversation partners, with a huge knowledge about the area and it’s attractions. Their place is clean, spacious and comfortable. It’s also very conveniently located (short drive to many local attractions) and very quiet as it’s just outside of Bethesda which made for a great night sleep after days of hiking.

    Ewa2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Christine and her husband were very welcoming, friendly and helpful during our short visit. They provided access to all facilities within the house. The room was comfortable, cosy and everything we could have needed. It was all clean including the bathroom and kitchen. The house is in a great location and most things are nearby. We recommend this to anyone looking for a quiet time away and we are looking to return also.

  • We had a fantastic time. Location is stunning and really feels away from it all! The cottage is really beautiful and full of character. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and there were great walking guide books and maps. Instructions for the hot tub (which is great!) and wood burner were really clear and Nick and Charlotte made us feel really welcome. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great getaway to a beautiful part of the country.

    Lindsey2020-03-20T00:00:00Z
  • Myself and 3 friends stayed here for a weekend to enjoy the outdoors and a bit of girly time. Nick greeted us on arrival (even though we turned up an hour later than planned in the dark and wet!) and went over the amenities, walking routes and some tips for our weekend and then left us to enjoy our weekend. We had a lovely day of walking on the Saturday into the local village and used the very helpful walking guides from in the house to work out our routes. The house had everything we needed and was very comfortable for us. We didn't end up in hot tub as the weather was really quite poor but hopefully we'll be back to try that out soon! Wifi in and out, but we all secretly loved that! The cottage is really very remote, but we loved it and I know many more that will too, I fully recommend a stay here if you want to switch off and enjoy the beautiful Welsh mountains and outdoors. Thank you Nick and Charlotte for a great weekend!

    Amy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A superb cottage with first rate hospitality with Nick and Charlotte who couldn’t have been more helpful before and during our stay. A fantastic cottage, maintained to a very high standard, amazing location and to top it off a wood burning hot tub. A definite recommend.

    Tim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is small, but it was perfect for two couples with small children. We loved the wood burning fireplace and Nick & Charlotte's commitment to energy efficiency and recycling.

    Elizabeth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a great little cottage, the pictures really don’t do it justice as to how pretty it is inside and out. We stayed as a family of 4 with a baby and stayed during Storm Denis. The cottage was so cosy that we didn’t even notice the storm outside, and we all had a really relaxing time! This was a great base for exploring and we visiting Conwy and Caernarfon whilst there. Nick and Charlotte were lovely and we had great communication on the lead up to they stay. We will definitely be back another time!

    Claire2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay. The cottage is beautiful. So warm, lovely sheets and a fantastic shower. Fantastic location for Snowdon. Really wild, a true country retreat. Nick and Charlotte were so helpful and welcoming.

    Jonathan2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing cottage in the perfect location for exploring snowdonia. We rented the cottage as a party of 6 adults which we had plenty of space with everything you could ask for. We spent our last night under the stars in the wood fired hot tube which was something pretty special! We will be back.

  • Just got back from a last minute weekend at Jocelyn’s place, it was really comfortable and we had everything we could have wanted. Jocelyn even left a few toys out for our little one to play with and there where doggy treats in the cupboard for our pooch too! Super place, in a super location - definitely worth a visit!

  • We had a lovely stay. Amazing location, host was very helpful and really dog friendly! Really warm and cosy too, even in Snowdonia in January!

    Timothy2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time bringing in the new year in this lovely place. The stay was comfortable, relaxing and definitely needed. We had access to everything that we could need (kitchen, bathroom etc) and the local supermarket isn't too far away. Jocelyn and her family are lovely, and our dog enjoyed meeting their dog. Location wise, it's not too tricky to find, just takes a little concentration with the turns etc. We would highly recommend this place! And suggest a trip to Cwm Idwal - a great spot for dog walking and exploring the countryside.

    Ashleigh2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great location situated within a short drive from the best Snowdonia has to offer. Especially good if you’re heading for the Ogwen Valley or Llanberis Pass. The cottage is pot on for two people with a very well equipped space and welcome touches. Our hosts were super friendly, communicative and let us be while being on hand. The cottage was spotless when we arrived, and getting in and out a breeze. We arrived at dusk and did have to keep a keen eye out for the address. This is one of the best value rentals in one of the best mountain locations we’ve found so far. Epic!

An original slate miner's cottage built in the late 1800’s. Located in the slate capital of the world, offering a true taste of the past, but with the benefit of modern living. Our cottage is right next to the crossing for the Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway. We are conveniently located within walking distance of Llechedd Slate Mountain Adventure, Zip World and Bounce Below. A five-minute walk will take you into town, where there are shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
Situated in the heart of Snowdonia, as well as its interesting history as a former slate mining town, Blaenau Ffestiniog offers a narrow gauge steam railway, the famous Llechwedd Zip World, Blaenau-Ffestiniog is also a popular destination for walkers with Snowdon around a half hour drive, Tryfan close by and Antur Stiniog for mountain bikers. The property offers two bedrooms, with many original features. Downstairs is a cosy, open plan living area, with Satellite television, super fast Wi-Fi (70-80Mbps) ambient lighting and a fully equipped kitchen. To the back of the property is a shower room and a space which houses the washing machine and dryer. Upstairs are two bedrooms, the master has a double bed and views of the railway. The children's room has bunk-beds and appealing decor. The front garden offers a sitting area to watch the trains and relax with your favourite drink surrounded by views of the mountains. We’ve had some confusion over recent weeks regarding the original stove. It has been left in as an historical feature as we love it but is no longer in service. • Angi's adorable little cottage was the perfect pad for our weekend away in wales. The cottage is in a perfect location for exploring wales and down the road from zip world slate caverns. Its been beautifully decorated with fairy lights and they even put colouring books, toys and teddies in the children's bedroom which was such a lovely touch! The cupboards and fridge were even stocked up with condiments and fresh milk which was fantastic! The attention to detail in this place really make this cottage a wonderful stay for all the family. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Cwt Glo is a cosy and peaceful cottage for two in Northern Snowdonia nestled between two mountain ranges the Carneddau and Glyderau. Cwt Glo is situated in a small village near Bethesda called Mynydd Llandygai. There is private off road parking next to the cottage. Cwt Glo is Welsh for Coal house and the cottage was the place where the coal was weighed and measured. The property has been both a farm and coal yard for the local area. Cwt Glo is a semi sustainable/off grid cottage it has a solar and wind system however there is the backup of mains electricity. There is also an LPG central heating and hot water system. The cottage has a wood burning stove to keep you cosy and warm in the evening after a busy day exploring the local area. We also provide the wood for your stay.
The cottage has it's own private entrance and parking. Character kitchen with wooden beams and quarry tiles. Everything you need for cooking is provided including fridge freezer, gas oven and hob, toaster and dining table. It is fully equipped with cooking equipment and utensils. Living room includes a local heritage slate fireplace and log burner, settee and armchair. We provide all the logs and kindling for your stay. Bedroom is a beautiful Welsh mezzanine crog loft with double bed. Please note the bedroom has low ceilings with access via wooden stairs. Bathrooms. There is a large shower/wet room and a separate toilet and sink. A storage room with clothes rack and hangers. Perfect if you need to store shoes, suitcases or have coats. Cottage garden and decking area with table and chairs perfect for watching the mountains changing colour at sunset. Or to star gaze! We are lucky that we have such amazing views of the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain range from Cwt Glo. There is private off road parking for the cottage. Please do not smoke inside the cottage.
Our location makes us really quite special we are in a village which is 1000ft above sea level and we have views of both the Glyderau and Carneddau mountain ranges in Snowdonia. Mynydd Llandygai is a very community spirited village with a village hall which hosts a cafe or supper club once a month, music events, yoga and even gong baths! The village is surrounded by mountains and there are many beautiful walks around the village with views of Snowdon, the Menai Strait, Anglesey and Lleyn Peninsula. There are mountain bike trails in the village and cycle paths nearby.
  • Cwt Glo is a lovely get away from the hustle and bustle of modern life in exchange for a relaxed, cosy and comfy cottage high up in the Northern Welsh mountains. With a lovely shower, wood burner and well laid out kitchen, it offers everything you need to unplug and discharge without any distractions. My wife and I found it the perfect spot to read a book or play some board games after a day out exploring the Welsh mountainside.

  • We know where to come back next time we come to Snowdonia, Simon and Sarah's place is the right cottage for getting to know the region. We were very nicely welcomed, great location and comfort place, nice wooden oven and nice shower and all this off grid!

    Cecile2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay despite storm Dennis! The location was great, the hosts are very thoughtful and the fire was lovely. The only things that would have made it better would be faster wifi (but wouldn’t need this if the weather was good) and better heating at times

    Sabrina2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Really cosy and peaceful. Beautifully done up, immaculately clean and great sustainable values. Brilliant location for mountains either Ogwen valley or Snowdon are a short drive. Not far to Anglesey for beaches too. Very thoughtful provision of a drying/storage room. Wonderful hot shower. A lovely welcome pack and welcoming, generous hosts. Thank you!

    Stephanie2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed during winter and were cosy in front of the log burner in Simon's ECO home. Step out into glorious scenery during the daytime and uninterrupted stargazing at night. Everything you need for a relaxed retreat and access to great walks. Thoughtful touches.

    Elise2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah and Simon are great hosts. They are as reactive as it can get. They have good advises to make your holidays unique. They are flexible. They created a little paradise. But most of all, they are warm, friendly and carrying people! Thank you a lot for those few days Max and Marie

    Marie2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We received a very warm welcome by Simon and Sarah with a freshly made cake! The eco cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. The woodburner made it extra snuggly. Thanks for a great stay :)

Plas Hafan nestles in an idyllic secluded farming community in the Lledr valley. It is surrounded by outstanding scenery and is a perfect base for enjoying the many splendours of Snowdonia National Park and the varied activities it offers. The house retains many of the original features such as the pulpit, organ, pews, wall panelling and vaulted ceiling, complimented by a newly fitted kitchen and bathroom. Many walks start from the front gate of the Chapel.
Entering from the porch, there’s a spacious open plan lounge and dining area which is double height to the vaulted ceiling. The large windows provide picture postcard views in all directions. If you play the piano, why not try playing the old chapel organ? Our solid Mahogany dining table seats 8 with original chapel pew on one side and there is sofa seating for 6. There's a double and twin bedroom upstairs off the gallery landing while the third (double) bedroom is accessed from the living room. Each bedroom has comfortable beds with wardrobe space in each. The main bathroom, fitted with marble vanity unit, underfloor heating and rain shower is also on the ground floor, while there is a small WC upstairs. The separate kitchen is well equipped and newly refurbished, with an eye level oven. There is a washing machine and tumble dryer in a separate utility room. There is free wifi available, but, due to our rural location, please don't expect anything near breakneck speeds! Outside, there is a terrace and sizeable garden to enjoy the view or for the children to play. A small bbq is available for your use. There is parking for two cars, (three at a push!) on the property. Please note: towards the back of the property, there is a drop between the garden and the house, so extra care needs to be taken if you have young children in your group. There is no television. The property is accessed from the main A470 along a single track road with passing places..
Situated in the heart of Snowdonia National Park, we are surrounded by some of the most impressive scenery in the British Isles. With views of Mount Snowden and Moel Siabod from our garden, it is no surprise that an endless list of picturesque walks for all levels begin just at our doorstep. The house itself is comfortable and is equipped with all you may need for an enjoyable stay. We are also just a 20-minute drive from Betws-y-Coed with a good choice of restaurants and bars and just 10 minutes away from Blaenau Ffestiniog which is home to Zip World, Underground Bounce Below Caverns, Llechwedd Slate Caverns, Antur Stiniog Downhill mountain biking and the Ffestiniog narrow guage Steam Railway, to name a few. In addition, Portmerion Village, Mount Snowdon and Moel Siabod, Bodnant Gardens and Conwy Castle (to name just one of many castles) and some lovely beaches are all within a 40 minute drive. In the village of Dolwyddelan, there is a Spar shop which sells general provisions and alcohol, and two pubs/inns serving food and drinks for visitors.
  • This is a lovely quiet retreat away from everything, it's well equipped and has fantastic views of the Welsh countryside. A perfect place to relax on your own or with a few friends. Dog friendly with enclosed garden.

  • We had a great time at the chapel. It’s in a lovely secluded area. Our group of three adults and three kids was comfortable in the place, and Sian and Griff provided great tips for exploring the area. They also graciously allowed us to check in early to beat a coming storm, and were very responsive. The wifi was a little spotty but we were informed of this beforehand, and it actually added to the feeling of “getting away from it all!” No complaints—thank you for a lovely time.

    Andrew2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular location and beautiful conversion.

    Oliver2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. Sian and Griff were welcoming and knowledgable about the area. The chapel was clean, very comfortable, and the kitchen was great for cooking. It was great for the two of us but would sleep six very comfortably. The location was perfect for our hiking. We definetly recommend staying here.

  • The house is beautiful and spacious, perfect for a group of six adults for some walking in Snowdonia. The surrounding valley is stunning and it's only a 15 min drive from Betws-y-coed. Modern and clean kitchen and bathroom, and the house has such good character. Griff welcomed us on arrival and Siân popped out to meet us before we left, both lovely!

    Zoe2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the Chapel in Dolwyddelan . It is a great place to explore Snowdonia. Nice walks, short distances to Castles and beaches. Zip world is nearby. Sian and Griff are wonderful hosts and the Chapel is a very cosy and comfortable accommodation. Also very dogfriendly. We would like to come back again.

Y Cwt Bugail is a twist on a traditional Welsh Shepherds hut. built to bespoke specifications locally. One double bed and 2 single bunks. Bedding and towels provided. This is a family hut for a family sleeping 2 adults and 2 children. The hut benefits from electric hob, mini fridge, utensils and crockery to make this a fuss free camping experience. The hut is situated within our campsite (Gwern Gof isaf) in the heart of Snowdonia National Park in the Ogwen Valley. 8th generation Williams family farm. We are a working farm, so at certain times of the year you may be lucky enough to be witness to some of our traditional farming methods such as the annual gather. We opened in 1906 and have been hosting happy campers ever since!
We are nestled between Tryfan, The Glyders and The Carneddau mountain range with Pen Yr Ole Wen and Y Garn a stones throw away. If you’re into adrenaline adventures the nearest Zipworld site is just 6 miles away. Pen Y Pass carpark for Snowdon is 7 miles away. We’re also relatively close to lots of family attractions! Capel Curig is just three miles away. There are a couple of pubs in the village if you work up a thirst out on the hills.
  • A lovely hut in a beautiful location. We ended up staying an additional night as we were determined to conquer Snowdon. The weather had been very wet and windy. Lovely walks from the location. Only improvement I would suggest is more coat hooks to allow for things to dry.

    Brian2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely shepherd’s hut with stylish furnishings, well-equipped and amazing mountain views

    Marika2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • I loved staying in the shepherd's hut. The camp site is very relaxed and in a great location. It does say on the listing that we should have had our own toilet but we weren't shown this on arrival so had to use the camp site toilets - they weren't the cleanest. But the shepherd's hut was amazing!

    Grace2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing little space, with great little touches inside, I would definitely stay here again.

    Daniel2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing location, off grid and surrounded with utterly beautiful scenery. The hut was like a tardis inside, nice and warm with the log burner too. We will definitely be back
