Beautiful secluded ranch setting. Has private deck with gas fire pit. See our herds of alpacas, goats, miniture horses, real horses, donkeys, and Texas Longhorns.
  • A fun place to stay. Perfect for a unique and comfortable stop. The animals are cared for and a real plus to your stay here. Not really suited for cooking a meal but had great snacks and treats in the frig. Also, the coffee was good. No tv but we were able to tether my phone to our iPad and got movies and news. Nicely decorated. I would stay here again.

  • This is an awesome spot to get away from it all.

  • Awesome western decor, friendly hosts and quiet. Love the views, the propane fire pit and soft comfy bed. Off the beaten path for those who seek peace and quiet.

  • The bunkhouse is a great place to take a moment and relax. The bunkhouse is cozy and decorated tastefully in ranch style. Especially loved the rocking chairs and fire pit on the porch, so nice to sit out there and enjoy the view. John was a great host and took the time to introduce us to all the ranch animal friends. Enjoyed our time and hope to visit again!

    Sheri2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at The Bunkhouse is a wonderfully unique experience. John and his wife Karen have created a beautiful space set in rolling green hills. It is peaceful and quiet and the bed is soooo comfortable. They provided lots of great snacks and bags of cookies to feed the goats, which was a lot of fun. I had a good time just watching the alpacas and the donkeys and felt well-protected by the dogs, Smith and Wesson, guarding the entry to the farm. John answered texts quickly and it was very easy to get in and out of the space. Definitely hope to return soon and spend a few days getting some nature therapy.

  • Shelley’s place is perfect for the ideal quiet , private getaway! The cabin outlooks her beautiful 20 acre property where you can view wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Sit out on the patio to have breakfast or a glass of wine or write your book!

  • I really enjoyed my stay here and I'm looking forward to coming back sometime soon! I highly recommend this accommodation to others. It was very clean, the dogs were super sweet, it was very relaxing & private and I was bummed out to have to go home so soon.

  • This was our second stay at Old Oak Cottage. Can’t wait to go back. Love waking up and looking out at the beautiful pasture! Shelly is quick to respond to any questions we had.

    Donna2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the property. My husband walked and ran around the property and we both enjoyed the views. Since we were there in February we appreciated a heater that worked well and hot showers. The bed was very comfy. We both slept very well. It's a little far from Lodi. (We were visiting our son) But, there wasn't much traffic which made it doable. I loved the horses walking by and the friendly dogs, however, the dogs were a bit too friendly when we had nice clothes on. They were a bit dirty and we were trying to stay nice for a restaurant visit. They were sweet, though. The kitchen had ants, but not so many that we bothered Shelley about it since she was recovering from surgery at the time. Overall, it was a very good place that we would consider staying at again when we come back.:)

  • A relaxing and peaceful part of California.

    Michael2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • If you love dogs and the countryside this is the spot. Our favorite part was the constant visits from their 5 massive dogs. We also enjoyed walking the field and feeling as though we had escaped the city.

    Robert2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a quaint cottage on a rural property that provides quiet solitude and beautiful scenery! While the property is located out of town you are only minutes away from all of the modern conveniences of a town. The hosts are very accommodating and respectful of your privacy. You'll find the landscaping and surrounding property beautiful and will enjoy the wood deck and fire pit on a cool evening or crisp morning with a cup of coffee! This was our 2nd stay at the cottage and look forward to another visit in the near future!

Secluded, mini cabin on a 10 acre retreat style property with a Pool and Pond. King Bed, Full Kitchen & Bath, Out Door Gas Fireplace & Soaking Tub. Come for the beauty of the ranch, the coziness of the Tiny House and a place to truly get away from it all: Drink coffee on the deck, Drink Wine, Read, Netflix and Chill, Write, Daydream, Swim, Fish, Hike We invite you to come and relax and leave the world behind... ps. dogs LOVE it here! ***Please read the entire listing before booking :)
TINY HOUSE: Completely separate from the main house. (Approximately 100 yards away in the back end of property WITH THE HORSES!) It's the perfect place for a couple or single to relax and recharge :) Property: 10 acre Ranchette with a pond, pool, gazebo, walking trails and firepits. We are at the end of a dead end road and the back of our property borders 440 acres of county owned pasture land. All of the roads to get here are paved. We also have another guest house on the property that we rent via Airbnb. Dori and Meredith live in the main house on the property. Pool and Property: Guests will have full free roam of all of the property including the pool, gazebo etc. We have another airbnb on the property: Listing Link: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/16857246 If you need an early or late checkout please book the night before or the night after. We are booked almost every night and unlike a hotel with multiple rooms to offer people we are limited to our 2 units and need time to get things ready for arrivals :) Animals: 2 -5 horses, barn cats and our house dogs. Horses: The Tiny House is located within the fenced area where the horses roam. You might wake up and they be right by the front window or you might not even see them. They are sort of unpredictable except at feeding time. If you would like to feed and/or pet just let us know Your Dogs/Cats/Horses: Friendly fur animals are SUPER welcome here!!! Most dogs go off leash and absolutely LOVE being free! They are also free to swim in the pond and pool. Make sure to let us know if you are bringing a pet as we have special welcome packages for them :) Our Dogs: Banks, Jett and Tennessee. Banks (german shorthaired pointer) is older and is inside 99% of the time. Jett (female pocket german shorthaired pointer) and Tennessee (goofy male black lab) like to play and lounge around outside. We have a fenced back yard off our main house and while guests are here they use this area. ***If your dogs are not comfortable with other dogs then we ask that you NOT bring them- we used to try to accommodate but it is too hard now. Your dogs: They are free to roam off leash. Our property is fenced but not secure if a dog really wants to escape. We find most dogs off leash just like to run in the grass. Your dogs can swim in the pond and the pool. If your dog is off leash you must keep an eye on them :) (Do NOT let them wander unsupervised) SUPER IMPORTANT: Do not let your dogs harass our cats, horses or goats. (It is normal for a dog to bark a few times at a horse but if it is trying to get to the horses or goats through the fences then you need to not take it close to the fence) Same with our cats- if your dog wants to chase our cats do not let them off the leash. Having said all of that about dogs- 95% of guests that visit with their dogs are Awesome pet owners and any of the above warnings would never even need to be said! We have unfortunately had some irresponsible doggie owners and now try to be as up front as possible with dog rules to help those that are clueless about being a doggie parent. Other occasional wildlife include deer, ducks, cranes, geese, wild turkeys, pheasants, otters, muskrats. Ducks and cranes are more common. Geese, wild turkeys and pheasants are seasonal. You will occasionally hear coyotes off in the distance at night. Fishing: We have a 2 acre pond. Many people fish all day- we just ask that you catch and release :) Please bring your own fishing equipment! Birds: We have LOTs of birds- we once had a bird specialist randomly come stay with us and tell me all the different types of birds we have here...oh how I wish I would have written them all down. Or perhaps you know about birds and can help me categorize them? :) Kids: This is a great property for kids to roam and experience semi ranch life. There is A LOT of water here. The pond is about 2 acres and there is a pool. We trust you know your children and can properly discern if this is the right place for them. :-) Over the years we have had tons of kids stay and enjoy. We allow kids 12 and older. About us: We are entrepreneurs and live in the main house on the property. We have an office that is 2 miles away and sometimes go there but also sometimes stay home if there are ranch chores to do. We are both originally from cities and enjoy the peace and solitude this property provides. We are more than willing to be friendly and socialize or give you complete privacy. If we are traveling we have caretakers stay on the property should anyone need anything. (And Dori's parents are 1 ranch over) Our interactions with guests: Some guests we never even see. Some we end up having cocktails and dinner with. We are friendly but can sense when guests want to do their own thing! :) In regards to ranch chores- we try to do anything loud during checkout hours :) Things to Know Before You Come: Secluded: We are 20 minutes away from a real grocery store so make sure to stock up before you come. There is gas station 2.5 miles away that has snacks and basic items. We keep tea and coffee and standard kitchen items stocked in the cottage. Connectedness: We have Wifi. Cell service is not very good. You can stand in certain places to get better signals but Wifi is best here for communication. Please note: the Wifi might go out while you are here and it might take 24 hours (or more) to get it fixed- we do not have utility services here like in big city- aka things happen slower here! This seems to happen about 1 day a month. We have guests here pretty much every night so if it does happen while you happen to be here we apologize in advance and we always work to get it up as fast as possible. Sometimes it's things like the olive branches needing to be trimmed out of the way of the beam! Most guests take it in stride and will do other things besides being online, however we have had some guests be very upset about this so we want to just give a heads up that this IS a possibility during your stay :) Ranch Life: The tiny house is luxurious but this is a ranch with animals and wildlife and dirt and bugs :) Please bring appropriate attire to fully enjoy the ranch life. If during the summer please bring bug spray and sunscreen. If during the winter please bring boots for the mud Seasons: Spring: Lots of flowers and wildlife. By June it becomes pool time. Summer: July/August are HOT- pool is great during these months Fall: lots of fall colors and cooler days and nights Winter: brings rain and it can be soggy so bring boots. The rain makes the grass green but there are not as many flowers as in the summer. We enjoy a lot of fires in winter (Tiny House is fully heated and air-conditioned.) Colors of the Ranch: In our area of California it does NOT rain in the summer. This means the grass turns brown and the pond level lowers about 6 feet. We have lots of different plants and some bloom during different seasons. Depending on when you are here the grass could be brown or green and some flowers you see in the photos might not be in bloom :) Meredith is originally from North Carolina and had no clue the temperature could drop by 30 degrees during the night in California (even in the summer) If you are not familiar with California weather please bring a sweatshirt as early mornings can be chilly. (And do not be afraid to leave the windows open at night for "air conditioning") We also make our own olive oil. If you are super interested, we can arrange for you to go one ranchette over to see the olive trees, do a tasting and talk to my 85 year old Dad about his trees :-) The olive oil just won gold again at the Los Angeles competition. He has about 100 trees and they are his babies and his oil is excellent...
The property resides at the end of a private road that is in the Sierra Foothills. Rolling hills with oak trees primarily. We are 30 minutes from Sutter Creek and the other old gold 49er towns and about 30 minutes from Shenandoah Valley the "other" wine country.
  • This ranch and the entire experience truly were magical. As a global traveler who dedicates time to taking in the beauty of nature around the world, I must say that this was a transcendent 24-hours for me. The land itself is exquisite and you can feel the magic, stillness and purity the moment you drive onto the property. The animals are clearly such beautiful, special beings and it was lovely to spend a morning in the same space with the horsies and experience my first frog symphony at night while bathing in the outdoor tub under the moon and stars! On top of all of these absolutely lovely experiences on the property/in nature, the little touches inside were incredibly thoughtful, welcoming and warm. My family and I have already talked about taking a group trip back to the ranch to stay in the tiny house. :) Thank you for your thoughtfulness and the energy that you put into crafting such a beautiful space and a magical experience for your guests! With lots of love, Nicole

  • This home far exceeded my already high expectations. It's a little tough to find at first but it's an absolute dream come true. The thoughtful touches for my birthday were so appreciated and the weather was perfect. I have no idea how to work their porch fire pit but I would have definitely enjoyed that with my partner if he would have come with. The outdoor soaking tub was worth the wait and the price alone. You can see so many stars and hear all the animals and wildlife talking to each other at night just enjoying a nice soak. I also basically ate all the Oreos in her snack jar..I'm so sorry for whoever checks in after me but their snack jar was on point. Lol. Very comfortable stay, I already can't wait to book again and return.

    Jaclyn2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • I had such a wonderful and relaxing time immersed in nature, frog song, bird song, horses ... such beauty and peace, and exactly what was needed to restore and recharge. Everything was perfect, from communication and check-in, to soaking in the outdoor tub, to the soft and comfortable bed. Lots of wonderful little touches to help me feel welcome and cared for. Such a beautiful space, indoors and out. Thank you so much for sharing this gem with the world.

    Suzanne2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Meredith & Dori's property was spectacular! The personal touches that they include when you check in are super sweet. They have everything you would need in there, from toiletries to spices, and snacks! If you want a semi-secluded tiny home that has amazing amenities and pure silence, then this place is for you. I am for sure coming back here! Maybe for my birthday. Lol

    Abigail2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • We've been here several times. If you want some peace and quiet this is your place. If your partner chews their food loudly you will notice. Apparently I'm not a loud chewer unless it's quiet.

    Joseph2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This "Tiny House" was the perfect weekend getaway and Meredith and Dori have added cute personal touches to the cabin that make it homey. They left us some nice surprise welcome gifts for us and our two dogs, who had a blast running in the pasture and got to meet horses for the first time. The patio area was perfect for a relaxing evening in front of the fire pit. This was probably one of our favorite weekend get aways, and we hope to go back soon.

I AM currently remodeling the building but promise to not to disturb your stay. I have a laundry room and will add more appliances and services as time passes. A Small home on 25 acres. There are pituresque views of horse pasture, vineyards and the Sierra Nevada range in the distance. Close to lake Comanche, many wineries, and beautiful farms. While we are getting our organic farm up and going we are offering special pricing. We will likely be planting a lot of trees or setting up our vineyard during the next few months.
I'm an artist and chef. And the home reflects that. I love it. Hundreds of acres of nature and farmland is just out the back door.
This is an extremely quiet area with clear skies and beautiful starry nights.

Private, stone and wood beam guest cottage located on a 10 acre retreat style property. King Bed, Full Kitchen, Loft, Full Bathroom, Wifi, TV, Fireplace We invite you to come and relax and leave the world behind...a place to truly get away from it all: Drink coffee or wine on the deck, Read, Write, Daydream, Swim, Fish, Hike. 1 Hour to Sacramento, 2 Hours to San Francisco *Please read entire listing before booking (About Your Dogs, Wifi, Cell Service, Checkin requests, etc)
Guest House: Completely separate from the main house. (Approximately 50 yards away) It's the perfect place for a couple or single to relax and recharge :) King Bed, bathroom, kitchen and sitting area are on the main floor. Loft upstairs has a full desk and chair along with an additional plush chair for reading. Full porch on the back with views of the pond and where the horses feed. Guests have spent many a morning drinking coffee and nights on the back deck drinking wine and enjoying the view. Charcoal Grill on deck. Property: 10 acre Ranchette with a 2 acre pond and pool. We are at the end of a dead end road and the back of our property borders 440 acres of county owned pasture land. All of the roads to get here are paved. We do a few personalizations for our guests- if you are bringing a guest or pets please let us know their first names so we can include them :) Checkin- Self checkin- we do not see guests during this time. If you need an early or late checkin please book the night before or the night after. We are booked almost every night and unlike hotels, we do not have other units available to accommodate these requests. Your Dogs/Cats/Horses: Friendly fur animals are SUPER welcome here!!! Most dogs go off leash and absolutely LOVE being free! They are also free to swim in the pond and pool. Make sure to let us know if you are bringing a pet (and their first names) as we have special welcome packages for them :) Pool and Property: Guests will have full free roam of all of the property including the pool, gazebo etc. We have just added another airbnb to the property- it is a tiny house on wheels (like the shows on TV) :) Tiny House Listing: https://www.airbnb.com/rooms/27203739 Animals: 3 horses, 3 goats, multiple barn cats and our house dogs. (Amount of horses here can vary as we rotate with our in laws who are 1 ranch over) Horses: It depends on the season how many we have but will always have at least 2. If you would like to feed and/or pet just let us know. They love apples- if you would like to bring some to feed them they will love you Our Dogs: Banks, Jett and Tennessee. Banks (german shorthaired pointer) is older and is inside 99% of the time. Jett (female pocket german shorthaired pointer) and Tennessee (goofy male black lab) like to play and lounge around outside. They are not outside of our backyard unless we are outside with them. ***If your dogs do not get along well with other dogs then we ask that you NOT bring them. (It is normal for a dog to bark a few times at a horse/goat/cat but if it is trying to get to the horses or goats through the fences then you need to not take it close to the fence) Same with cats- do not let your dogs chase our cats- if they chase please keep them on the leash for the entirety of your stay. Having said all of that, 95% of dog owners do not even need to be told all of the above. Unfortunately, we have had some clueless dog owners so we are now are as upfront as possible with all doggie rules. Other occasional wildlife include deer, ducks, cranes, geese, wild turkeys, pheasants, otters, muskrats. Ducks and cranes are more common. Geese, wild turkeys and pheasants are seasonal. You will occasionally hear coyotes off in the distance at night. ***Spring and summer brings LOTS of wildlife. Especially summer! We have LOTs of birds- we once had a bird specialist randomly come stay with us and tell me all the different types of birds we have here...oh how I wish I would have written them all down. Or perhaps you know about birds and can help me categorize them? :) Fish: We have a 2 acre pond full of bass fish- fish as much as you want we just ask that you catch and release. Please bring your own fishing equipment :) Kids over 12 are Welcome: This is a great property for kids to roam and experience semi ranch life. There is A LOT of water here. The pond is about 2 acres and there is a pool. We trust you know your children and can properly discern if this is the right place for them. :-) Over the years we have had tons of kids stay and enjoy. About us: We are entrepreneurs and live in the main house on the property. We have an office that is 2 miles away and Dori goes there to work a lot. Meredith is at the ranch doing ranch chores more often. We are both originally from cities and enjoy the peace and solitude this property provides. We are more than willing to be friendly and socialize or give you complete privacy. Meredith tries to do all noisy ranch chores during checkout hours :) Things to Know Before You Come: Secluded: We are 20 minutes away from a real grocery store so make sure to stock up before you come. There is gas station 2.5 miles away that has snacks and basic items. We keep tea and coffee and standard kitchen items stocked in the cottage. Connectedness: We have Wifi. Cell service is not very good. (Just a grade above terrible::) You can stand in certain places to get better signals but Wifi is best here for communication. PLEASE NOTE: the Wifi might go out while you are here and it might even take 24 hours (or longer) to get it fixed- we do not have utility services here like in big city- aka things happen slower here! Update- it could even take 1 week to get fixed as we just had an event occur where the internet was down for an entire week. This seems to happen about once a month. We have guests here pretty much every night so if it does happen while you happen to be here we apologize in advance and we always work to get it up as fast as possible. Sometimes it's things like the olive branches needing to be trimmed out of the way of the beam! Most guests take it in stride and will do other things besides being online, however we have had some guests be very upset about this so we want to just give a heads up that this IS a possibility during your stay :) Ranch Life: The guest house is luxurious but this is a ranch with animals and wildlife and dirt and bugs :) Please bring appropriate attire to fully enjoy the ranch life. Please bring bug spray Seasons: Spring: Lots of green and flowers by June it is usually very warm Summer: July and August are HOT- bring your swimsuit or just relax in the air conditioned cottage and on the back deck. We can't over emphasize hot! AKA you will be in the pool or inside the entire day. It will cool off by 9pm Fall: lots of fall colors and starting to turn green when the first rains come. Cooler weather. Great time for wine tasting! Winter (November to March): A lot of rain and it can be soggy so bring boots. The rain makes the grass green but there are not as many flowers as in the summer. We enjoy a lot of fires in winter (Guest House is fully heated and air-conditioned and has a gas fireplace.) We certainly have all seasons here although it does not snow. We also make our own olive oil. If you are super interested, we can arrange for you to go one ranchette over to see the olive trees, do a tasting and talk to my 85 year old Dad about his trees :-) (he often wins gold at the prestigious Los Angeles International Olive Oil Competition- lol he is very modest so he wouldnt tell you but we will- its a BIG deal as its the #1 competition in the US and the fifth in the world) Tour is $100 per tour and includes a bottle of olive oil.. (Note this is based on the season and availability and is also based on his availability- if you would like to do this please message us and ask if the dates you want to do this are available before you book).
The property resides at the end of a private road that is in the Sierra Foothills. Rolling hills with oak tress primarily. We are 30 minutes from Sutter Creek and the other old gold 49er towns and about 30 minutes from Shenandoah Valley the "other" wine country.
  • Our third time back and this little place did not disappoint. If your looking for a relaxing getaway with the perfect hosts, you’ve found it. Can’t wait to come back!

  • This airbnb stay was magical thanks to Dori & Meredith. The cabin was so cozy, designed with thoughtful touches, personalized for us, well equipped and felt so welcoming. It’s a unique cabin from stone walls to spa like bathroom decor. The land was also very pretty and peaceful with the lake. Being around the farm animals and wild life was so great. Overall, it was such a serene experience. You should check it our for yourself, and I will suggest this place to my friends and family!

    Emel2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing if you are trying to get out of town. We loved sitting outside and enjoying the sun and sounds of the animals. This place is beautiful and we will be coming back!

    Jacob2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a nice stay in Ione! We really enjoyed getting to meet the animals on the property and relax in a beautiful setting. We spent hours on the porch reading books and watching the horses. I took Meredith’s advice and went for a walk on the county land attached to the property, which was stunning.

    Elizabeth2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a place to stay and this place has shown up on your search, don't hesitate, book it. The cabin is super cozy and romantic and the kitchen is more than adequate to cook in as often as you need to. When you wake up, you can say good morning to the goats and horses that are right outside the door and enjoy a cup of coffee on the deck as the sun comes up over the mountains. During the day you can venture to a variety of wineries or quaint restaurants in the area. After watching the beautiful California sunset, relax back at the cabin and watch a movie in front of the fire. I could go on and on but you get the idea. This place is an excellent spot to get away and unwind, so just book it and go!

Everything we needed was available for cooking and having guests for dinner. Side note, home is very mobility challenged friendly. Shower included. Hosts were quick to respond to any questions. We'll definitely rent again!

The house is up-to-date and relaxing. The beds are comfortable and the house was very clean when we arrived. Our host Fred couldn’t have been more helpful and was exceptional in promptly responding to questions without ever being intrusive. The Hotel Leger was first established in 1851 and is still one of the longest continually operating hotels in California. The town and hotel were once the busiest in the Mother Lode, attracting miners and business people from around the world. We invite you to come visit and experience the rich history for yourself. Escape to a less complicated time for a few days of quiet relaxation and fun as we take you back to the 1800's.
The Greve family claims the longest continuous hotel ownership - some 60 years between 1905 and 1966. This room features a full size bed, a view of our courtyard & pool and shares a bathroom in the hallway with the Edith Irvine room. This room is dog friendly ($20 cleaning fee).
Historic Main Street is home to a variety of interesting businesses and three historic cemeteries are within walking distance. The surrounding region is chock full of things to do and see year round. Our central location provides easy access to all that the area has to offer, including the wine regions of both Calaveras and Amador counties. The beautiful Mokelumne River and the four nearby reservoirs abound with activities for water enthusiasts. Big Trees State Park, caverns, gold mine tours, antiquing, concerts, hiking, Indian Grinding Rock and the annual frog jumping county fair made famous by Mark Twain are just a sampling of what the area has to offer.

Simple home on a small homestead farm close to lakes, Gold Country history, wine tasting, golf and small town life.
This two bedroom (plus bunk room), two bathroom home is the perfect retreat. Situated off a gravel road on a 5 acre property, it is close enough to enjoy the several recreational lakes in the area or explore the local wine scene, or hide away for a few days watching bouncy goats nibble on treats.
Our town is a short scenic drive away, small but has all the necessities including a small ice cream shop that is perfect during the heat of summer. It is a rural community so while there is a ton of activities and events, almost everything requires some driving. • This is our second time staying and we loved it as much as the first time. Hospitality and communication are great. Karaoke is always a fun time. It is peaceful sitting out on the porch or back deck. We will be back for sure. Thank you for such a nice time.

    Cindy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wow, could not recommend this enough! Rhonda is so kind, and incredibly knowledgable and eager to share the ins and outs of her farm. She gave us an extensive tour that could easily have been an Airbnb Experience - we saw and fed goats, sheep, chickens, cows, rabbits, and an adorable pig. The house has a huge kitchen with fresh eggs from the coop, spices, cooking supplies. Rhonda was even kind enough to bring over some fresh garlic when we needed some and supply chairs for us to stargaze at night. An incredible place to get away for the weekend with a group of friends.

    Alexa2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and quite place for a farm stay, host gave us very good tour and share with us their story and and experience. The house is decorated beyond our expectations, there are a lot of detail small things always surprise us, as host said , they tried to let people lived there feel like home , and we do feel like home, definitely a good place to stay if you want a countryside experience!

    Nancy2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place to spend a quiet night away from the overwhelming gunfire on New Year's eve in our neighborhood. Rhonda's place on the farm had everything we needed and more. Although it's a basic home, there was plenty of space and thoughtful touches throughout the home, like lots of cozy throw blankets, extra towels, assorted coffee and teas, a large dvd collection, games for the kids, basic pantry items like salt/pepper, assorted spices, oil, and delicious farm fresh eggs for breakfast. Our boys ages 11 and 4 loved hanging out in the bunk room. They really loved Rhonda & Ryan introducing them to the goats, rabbits, chickens and the best farm dog ever, Ms. Ruby. Rhonda greeted us personally and was kind enough to come over and help us figure out the TV and change the TV remote batteries. We all enjoyed our time at Rhonda & Ryan's place and their warm hospitality. Thank you for a fun and memorable experience!

My place is close to several wineries that offer wine-tasting excursions, family-friendly tours, historic sites, and scenic touring and cycling venues. You’ll love it for the comfy bed, the coziness, the scenic view of main street, and its modern yet inviting motif. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.

  • Sean is a great host. We really enjoyed our stay. The property is beautiful. The trailer was perfectly comfortable and cozy. The outdoor kitchen was very cool; equipped with everything we needed with the added bonus of a picturesque sunset view over the rolling sierra nevada foothills. The property is a prime example of what it means to live in harmony with nature. Sean has mastered living off the land and is very aware of his impact on the environment. We should all take a page out of Sean’s book on what it means to live sustainability.

The Globe is located in historic Main St, Jackson and contains four separate units. Each is stylistically unique, but they all contain equivalent amenities similar to an apartment. An appropriate unit will be assigned to comfortably fit the size of your party. If needed, you can also request to rent out multiple units if they are available. Upon check-in, you will be given your keys and shown to your room. There is private parking located behind the building outside the guest entrance.
Please feel free to contact me through email if you have additional questions or would like more information regarding the building/area.
The building is walking distance to a coffee shop, bakery, deli and several small restaurants. There are also local boutiques and shops owned by locals. Many visitors enjoy driving upcountry to wine taste at the many wineries in Shenandoah Valley.
  • It felt like we were staying in a New York loft, in the quaint City of Jackson!!! The accomodations are modern, new and very very clean. There is ample living area room, with two additional sleeping alternatives for guest, kids, family etc. The location is right on Main St. and has a wonderful balcony for people watching from above. This is the BEST AIRBNB I have ever stayed at. The decor is minimal with Industrial highlights and an open floorplan. George was a very gracious and welcoming Host. We can't wait for our next trip - George is da BOMB!!!!

    Llama2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • George’s place was lovely, clean and in an excellent location. George responded quickly when I had questions and accommodated all of our needs. I would not hesitate to stay at George’s place.

  • George’s place was amazing, and he was very quick to respond. We checked in late and he made sure we were accommodated. It’s gorgeous and comfortable inside with walking distance to lots of restaurants. It was sparkling clean and huge. I’d recommend it to anyone and hope to go back again.

  • The Globe is very cool, the apartment is recently renovated and looks great with a modern design. The place is also very spacious and would easily fit 4. Very centrally located as you can walk around a places to eat and the grocery store. Parking is very easy since you get your own spot in the back. Communication with George was very easy and fast. You should definitely stay at this place!

  • Modern, spacious, tastefully decorated, white glove sparkling clean apartment! Didn't need the full kitchen but it would have been fun to cook in it. The sectional in the living room has a queen size pull out bed that was comfortable. Beautiful tile work in the bathroom. Hosts George & Kathy were immediately responsive & welcoming. Would definitely stay here again!

    Cynthia Lynn2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • George’s place is wonderful. He has 4 separate units and you will have an entire apartment to yourself. The apartment we stayed in was huge, beautiful and completely remodeled. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you need to cook. It is right in downtown Jackson, within easy walking distance to restaurants. A quick google search for “The Globe Jackson“, there are a few more photos available. We will definitely be back!

My place is close to several wineries that offer wine-tasting excursions, family-friendly tours, historic sites, and scenic touring and cycling venues. • This is the second time that my friends and I have stayed in this wonderful apartment. It's clean, adorably decorated, has a nice open sitting area and is easy to access. We love that it's close to the Amador wineries and walking distance from a few restaurants and bars. Kraig and his sister both respond quickly and are extremely easy to deal with. I plan on booking another stay next time I'm in the area!

  • Walking distance to the heirloom inn!

    Megan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Pros: -very cute, charming space -had everything we needed -walking distance to Preston, and well as some cafes and restaurants -owners sister brought us a light at night due to the pg&e outages which I thought was very thoughtful! Cons: -nearby bar played music loudly at night. Not sure if this is normal or there was some event going on. Thankfully, power went out around midnight due to the pg&e shut offs so we got some peace and quiet. I’d recommend bringing earplugs if you’re sensitive to noise just in case!

    Gabriella2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great apartment right in the middle of town! We loved having easy access to restaurants and a grocery store about a 6-minute walk away. Kraig’s space was a wonderful place to unwind after adventuring around Amador County!

My place is close to parks. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets). It is 1.5 hours from lake tahoe, San Francisco, Sacramento and 2 hours from Yosemite. 5 minutes to the lake Comanche entrance.
Our guest house is located on our small local family hobby farm. We have all kinds of farm animals and it is a great place to be centrally located when visiting northern california.
  • Excellent trip and enjoyed staying in the beautiful country. The hills were so green and amazing. Beautiful surroundings!

  • If you need peace and quiet, this is it. Fit our needs exactly. It's simple but did the job and was a great value. Hosts were all we could have asked.

    Margot2018-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to go when you want to get away from the busy city. Beautiful animals, great hosts, and an overall serene environment. Our place had everything we needed and more. Loved waking up here in the morning. Would like to go back!

    Haley2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Teresa has a cozy, clean guest house with a full kitchen, living room, and two big TV’s. However, the best part is the fact that it’s on a small farm with 3 cute horses standing just outside your front door. She also has 2 sweet farm dogs which love attention. The only downside is the roosters start crowing at 4:30 in the morning. If you are a really light sleeper you might want ear plugs but it’s not that loud and just adds to the authenticity. Teresa was very sweet and accommodating.

Our place is close to the Calaveras River, several lakes, golf courses, the historic and picturesque Gold Rush towns, the great foothill vineyards and taste rooms, art galleries, antique shops and Gold Rush museums. There are limestone- and crystalline-filled caves and caverns . . . You’ll love our place because of its serene and tranquil setting and spectacular sights of the river and hills. . . Discrete redwood balconies offer a nearly 360-degree view of the surrounding country.
Secluded setting. The backyard, where the pool, decks and the gazebo are located, offers a stunning view of the Calaveras River and the rustic, tree-covered hills. The top balcony, right outside of the kitchen/dining room, has tables and chairs and is a great place to enjoy the view during the day and look up at the stars at night. You can expect to see wild turkeys, quails and other birds roaming the grounds nearby, many of them roost on the bull pine trees in the vicinity.
The home sits back, shielded by trees and lushes bushes; the guests will feel they have their own private place. There are a few homes in the general area but each sits on an acre or more lots that there is hardly any contact with the people who live in them.
  • Great place! Would 100% recommend to the future travelers. Already planning to come back!

  • Great stay! Fun for the kids!!

    Breanne2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • The images of the interior house is very accurate. The pictures of the pool area and view do not show off the beauty of this location. The outdoor area is awesome. The interior of the house is as shown in the images; it’s like staying at an aunts house that needs an interior designer friend for some update recommendations. The house itself was nice. I arrived on a day that was about 105 degrees outside, they did not have the AC on prior to my arrival, there were 5 windows opened and the inside temperature was 89 degrees. It took many hours for the house to cool to a suitable temperature to feel comfortable inside. Besides this, all else was as planned. Enjoy!

    Jonathan2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This house is very clean and the outdoor area is gorgeous. The pool area is actually better than the photos show. My only suggestion for improvement would be to replace the air mattress with a real mattress in one of the bedrooms and maybe upgrade the furniture at some point.

    Serena2019-07-28T00:00:00Z

    Harman2019-07-06T00:00:00Z

    Amy2019-06-23T00:00:00Z

Enjoy a piece of Jackson! The home is an old victorian with a modern farmhouse feel. The home dates back to the 1893 and was the Methodist-Episcopal Church Parsonage. Furnished with vintage finds and some modern pieces. We love Jackson and all that Amador County offers. Historic Main Street Jackson, Sutter Creek, wonderful cuisine and wineries are just a few of the things you can explore. Be Our Guest and Relax!
The home itself is unique because of its rich history, a little bit about the history of the home is listed below. My favorite part of the home, the feeling that you get when you walk in. Bright and airy yet cozy, clean and peaceful and a true soul retreat. Updated with fun features such as the coffee bar. If you don't like coffee there are tea selections as well. Looking for relaxing evening with a few drinks? Our wine bar has mixers, glasses and tools you need, just BYOA(Bring you own alcohol) And last but not least a sweet spot for kiddos with a pack and play crib, books, games and a few toys. A nice vacation spot for everyone! There is a bedroom on the main floor with a bathroom on the main floor as well. 3 bedrooms are located upstairs. The History: Methodist Church Parsonage - Jackson The original Methodist-Episcopal Church was built in 1853, however the same denominations were erected in Fort John, Volcano and Ione prior to Jackson's. The building survived the 1862 fire because it was far enough away from the blaze. In 1968, the wood structure was demolished to make room for the present brick construction. The existing parsonage next door was constructed in 1893. Thanks to a 23-year-old minister, Isaac B. Fish, and his seemingly frail and delicate wife, the Methodist-Episcopal church was finally a reality in Jackson. Fish traveled by foot (he could not afford to own or feed a horse) to Jackson from Mokelumne Hill and surrounding communities beginning in 1851. He preached in homes, frequently to less than a handful of people. During one sermon, a knife fight broke out. Fish declared of Jackson: “The Lord have mercy on the wicked people of Jackson.” But his persistence finally paid off.
The neighborhood is very safe charming and next door to the local museum.
  • This is a great place for several families to spend time in. There's nothing Gwen didn't think about to make this place welcoming and pleasent - absolutely everything in the house is large, spacious and comfortable. Gwen replied within minutes to any communication. We will definitely recommend this place and come back if we're ever in the area.

  • We had a family group of five attending a family funeral, and it was so nice to have a beautiful and peaceful place like the Church Street Inn to retreat to. It is as spacious and beautiful as the pictures show, with comfortable beds and well stocked bathrooms and kitchen. Things went so well that we never needed to contact Gwen during our visit but she was in touch with us in the days before and on our arrival day. I highly recommend this place!

  • We had a wonderful stay for Christmas. The house is very comfortable and spacious and so well appointed. The kitchen was well stocked with added goodies, there were many beautiful Christmas decorations including a tree, and plenty of bedding and towels. We couldn't have asked for more. We were able to host a Christmas dinner for 10 with ease and everyone enjoyed the house. Thank you for helping make our Christmas memorable.

Built in 2019, vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace, WiFi and Netflix, granite countertops, close to huge park, Preston castle near by, Sutter Creek 10 min drive, could house two full families. Plus Harrahs Nor Cal brand new casino is only a fifteen minute drive away.
Lots of exploring, hiking can be done right out the front door. Howard Park is across the street. It has three jungle gym sets, four baseball diamonds, six soccer goals, a rodeo arena, a mile race track, and it’s a great place to ride your bike or walk to explore the trails. The park also has an overgrown frisbee golf course. It makes it a challenge but still very fun.
Within a 15 minute drive to 3 lakes. Pardee, Lake Amador, Camanchee Lake. Good fishing and boat rentals. Howard Park is across the street. It has all the amenities you could imagine l.
  • Outstanding! We had 15 people for Thanksgiving dinner (half at the table and half on the couch) and with the open concept home, we could all be together and not separated into various rooms which is the norm for us. Lots of places to sleep with extra beds and bedding available for even more. There is a main floor bedroom/bathroom if you have someone not able to climb stairs, which was our situation. Clean, new, easy, just the best! Really great neighborhood for an after Thanksgiving Dinner walk and football toss. We plan to make this a regular thing! Very well stocked and Michael's communication was within moments every time. Cannot recommend enough. Just leave it for us for Thanksgiving. ;)

  • So the day before our family of 9 was leaving from Wisconsin to travel to California our Air B and B canceled on us due to a water leak. We found another home last minute only to have them cancel the minute we got off of the air plane in Sacramento due to their kid being sick so there we sat. This is when I found Michaels place in Ione. I booked our last minute stay and had Mike respond within minutes to ok us staying. He had his house cleaned and ready for us in less than 24 hours. The place was brand new and absolutely beautiful. There was a park just down the road and it was nice and quiet. It was about an hour drive to Sacramento were we had a wedding one of the days of our trip. I would highly recommend this place to anyone small or large group.

  • If you are looking to house multiple families or have a large group, this is most definitely a place for you! We were in town for a wedding and we housed 6 family members and could have easily housed 6 more. The house is clean and homey. The owner always responded to any question we had.

  • Michael’s place was BEAUTIFUL , clean and well stocked with supplies. The host was so quick to respond on your concerns and needs. I would recommend this place 100%! And the place is conveniently located since it was so closed to the Lakes (that we wanted to go to), and casinos!

    Daisy2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Michael is a great (super) host with hospitable approach. Will do his best to make you comfortable at his nice place. Will definitely recommend this place to anyone who would like to feel at a cozy home & be within few minutes away from the lake.

This 5-acre 3,200 sqft home is located in the quaint, historical town of Jackson, CA. A large, secluded property that sits just on the edge of town, this vacation rental is close to all the amenities the town has to offer while being removed from the small town “hustle and bustle”. The home sits nestled amongst a forest of giant oak trees and offers 5 bedrooms and sleeps 13. The home has a large kitchen, a long dining table that seats 8, and a separate bar that has a table for 4 that converts to a felt-topped poker table (chips are supplied). The central great room has a wood stove that invites cozy evenings by the fire. The house offers a modest library and various reading nooks that guests are encouraged to utilize. The three upstairs bedrooms offer queen-sized accommodations, with the master bedroom also boasting its own large, private bathroom. The downstairs bedroom is designed to be family friendly, offering a full-on-full bunk bed, large floor space, children’s reading nook, and a well-stocked toy closet. Outdoors, the property hosts an in-ground pool and large outdoor living area under a covered gazebo. A large stone fire pit surrounded by ample seating begs for memorable gatherings of family and friends around a campfire. The property features a long private loop drive that is great for short walks through the trees or for hassle-free navigation of large trailers and RVs. The home is well suited for multi-family excursions, small retreats and is pet friendly. Nestled in the heart of Amador county and rich with gold country history, Jackson blends the past with the modern. Tours of the local Kennedy Gold mine are offered daily and The Jackson Rancheria Casino is just a short drive up the road, offering gaming, dining and a regular concert series for entertainment. From historic downtown to the outskirts of town, Jackson has a variety of antique stores that make it a prized destination for antiquers. Within a few hours drive, adventurous day trippers can find giant Redwoods at Calaveras State park, the serene blue waters of Lake Tahoe, skiing at Kirkwood Ski Resort (seasonal) and even the towering monuments of Yosemite National Park.
  • We had a wonderful family gathering over New Years Eve/Day at this amazing home. It was exactly as advertised, with so many homey touches and cozy areas for a few or the whole group to gather in. We enjoyed the fire pit, my nephews started teaching themselves piano, and we all played cards, games and puzzles. The kitchen was well equipped to prepare our NYE dinner. We could tell that it is a much loved home and we felt like special guests staying there. It is beautiful inside and out. Thank you to Barkley and family for providing the perfect spot for our family to make some great memories in.

  • Amazing place! The house had everything we need with a beautiful backyard!

  • Very quaint and beautiful country home. Loved the personal feel like we were visiting family, children's room is ready with books, night lights, rocking chair, DVDs, library had quite the selection of books and board games. Can relax in patio deck covered futon, or by fire pit which was ready to go with kindling and logs. Loved exploring surrounding towns, caves, and sites!

  • My friends and I had a blast at Barkley’s house. The house is easy to find and very private. The pool was great, and the house very spacious! We enjoyed the fire pit and outdoor spaces a lot! Barkley was easy to coordinate with and would love to stay at his place again.

This sweet historic one bedroom house is located in the heart of California's gold country. It is perfect for a romantic get away, just to relax, or for easy access to numerous Sierra foothill activities. We are conveniently located halfway between California's two historic wine regions of Murphys and the Shenandoah Valley. Or for the more adventuresome, we are also located half way between beautiful Lake Tahoe and Yosemite.
The historic Church Street Cottage has just one bedroom so is ideal for one to two people. Additional people may be accommodated with an inflatable bed. This cottage is accessed by stairs, so is not suitable for physically challenged or young visitors, but we are dog friendly. Well behaved dogs are welcome. The house is generously sized with a living and dining area, a fully remodeled modern kitchen, large bedroom and en suite bath, laundry facilities, and a lovely deck for outdoor dining.
  • This is a sweet little cottage walking distance to a small town, perfect (for me) for visiting relatives in Sheep Ranch.

  • Bonnie's place is fantastic. Actually the best AirBnB experience I've ever had. The house is clean and quaint, has tons of amenities, and is in a beautiful location. Can't ask for more!

  • Bonnie was a great host! Her home was exactly as described- in a convenient location and extremely easy to get to. The furnishings are perfect. It's a lovely space! Thanks Bonnie!

  • Bonnie was very attentive and the cottage is absolutely beautiful....very comfortable bed, great fenced yard for the dogs, beautiful deck with view, I just want to live there!! We had to leave unfortunately due to the PG&E blackout the second day, but we will be back for sure!

  • Great place, many thoughtful touches, in the middle of a charming town.

    Cheri2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cute, extremely well stocked cottage in gorgeous Moke Hills. Amazing views, great deck. Plenty of storage space if you need it. Pet friendly although you can’t leave a dog in the yard as the fence isn’t high enough (we found the area to welcome our dog and when absolutely necessary there is a doggie day care right between Jackson and Sutter Creek). Moke Hill is such a great place to hang out and there is a ton to do in both Calaveras and Amador counties. We stayed for a week and a half and it’s very livable. Many, many thoughtful touches and there just isn’t anything you will need or want that Bonnie hasn’t made sure is there. Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful space, with a huge kitchen and bedroom, and a large deck with a lovely view over town and into the valley. Screen door is great for warm nights. Absolutely loved this place!

Photographer Edith Irvine moved to Mokelumne Hill at a young age and lived here the rest of her life. Her presence in the wrong place at the right time earned her the title of Only Female Photographer of 1906's Great Earthquake, arriving in San Francisco mere hours after the event. An exhibit of some of her work is on display at the town library. This room features a full size bed, balcony access and shares a bathroom in the hallway with the Greve room This room is dog friendly ($20 cleaning fee).
  • Hotel Leger was a great place to stay for NYE, as I just wanted a night away from the city. It was very relaxing, with sights to see in walking distance from the hotel. Our room was really relaxing, we had balcony access and view of the town. On NYE there was a 5 course dinner and a live band, which we did not expect. Great place to stay!

  • Beautiful property and very peaceful. Would definitely stay here again

  • Great place with fantastic views and the hosts really go the extra mile to make sure your stay is enjoyable. My family and I had a great time staying here and really enjoyed the lake near by. Stores are really close as well. I recommend this place and will be staying here again in the future.

  • Coming from San Diego I had no idea the beauty I was about to encounter. Valley Springs is a hidden gem, and this home had an endless view of the foothills. There were nine of us between the ages of twelve to ninty- two, and we were all comfortable. Heather was right next door with anything we asked for, even carrots for Rosie (the horse). Although it's a mile from the main road, it was 5 minutes into town. I would recommend this home for anyone wanting a peaceful getaway, with charming little "old towns"surrounding this area.

  • Neighbor Ryan was great and very accommodating. The air was turned on so when we got in late the house was just right. Snacks, chilled bottled water, and other essentials were provided in the kitchen. There were abundance of towels, extra blankets, and pillows. Small touches just like that sincerely goes a long way especially for Airbnb first timers such as ourselves. This was a positive experience for my family and I. Will definitely recommend this home.
