We throughly enjoyed our time here! The views of the dam and mountains from every room in the house was incredible! It's definitely not as secluded as it looks in the pictures but on the upside you are a quick 5 min drive into Montagu town. Notes for yourself when packing: -only 1 small firelighter is provided unfortunately (there are many fire areas so make sure to bring extra!) -only instant coffee provided but there is a coffee machine & plunger but you unfortunately need to being your own. - no milk or water is unfortunately provided either other than those few negatives we had an amazing time overall and would definitely visit again! Host was easy to communicate with and provided a beautiful bottle of champagne to celebrate our anniversary here which was appreciated.

We had a truly warming and memorable stay at this wonderful place. It’s an ideal spot for families, especially those with children. The area is peaceful and safe, with plenty of open space for kids to play and explore. Inside, the house is both cozy and well-equipped. The bedding was especially nice—fresh, clean, and super comfortable, which made for restful nights after busy days. One of our favorite features was the fireplace, which made the winter evenings feel extra special and added to the overall cozy atmosphere. The kitchen deserves a special mention—spacious, modern, and fully stocked with everything we needed to cook for the whole family. It made preparing meals together a real pleasure. This place strikes the perfect balance between comfort and practicality. Whether you’re looking for a relaxing break or a fun-filled family retreat, it’s an excellent choice. We’ll definitely be coming back!

My husband and I stayed at Poplar Chalet for our honeymoon. We felt at home from the minute we arrived - Cathy’s attention to detail was spectacular. She gifted us a bottle of bubbly with a congratulatory note. The chalet was clean, cozy and the surroundings were so peaceful. Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect.

What a beautiful spot! The view is exquisite, it is very quiet and private. So peaceful. The pictures don’t do it justice. Unit is comfortable and we utilised the much needed indoor fireplace. The kitchen has pretty much all you need to make meals. The one bathroom only has a bath, so bear that in mind if you are sharing with others. A magic spot in an awesome location! Susanna was very responsive to requests. We had a wonderful time. Thanks Susanna!!

What a beautiful experience! From the first farmgate we opened, till the last night under the stars next to the fire, it was perfect. Loved the experience with farm animals in the surrounding area. Beautiful, and multiple different hikes on the farm, with varying difficulty. Such a nice house. Looks and feels very expensive and brand new, whilst keeping the local and farm vibe. From LeCreuset cups, 4 different coffee options, to even giving us a little milk box in the fridge upon arrival. 10/10

Amazing find tucked away in a peaceful reserve. Clever design allows each guest pod all the privacy and space needed , while still being part of the central living area.Thoughtful touches when you arrive ,and we could have happily stayed a few more days!!Will definitely be back

An absolutely stunning stay in the most beautiful surrounding. The place is steeped in history and the build on the site is impeccable. It was one of the most amazingly done spaces we have stayed in and the wood fired heated pool was a massive plus. Every aspect of what you would want from a property on a vineyard was there and more, especially the wine cellar to pop down and get wine from! I couldn’t recommend this place enough! Braam was very helpful and insightful and greeted us at check-in, we’ll definitely be back, this time for a longer stay!
