Family-friendly holiday rentals in Punjab

We had a great stay at this apartment from March 19 - 26, 2015. First, the location: It is located on the Islamabad-Murree expressway, about 15-20 minutes out of Islamabad and 10 minutes from Bhara Kahu. We never had time to travel in the other direction to Murree, but it should be a relatively short drive to Murree. The complex is easy to find as it is well signed from the expressway. Note that it is just north of the expressway toll booth, so unless you have a sticker identifying you as a local, there is a 50 Rs. toll every time you go to/from Islamabad. The apartment: this was a very nice apartment, well-decorated. Pictures are accurate and the term "luxurious" is accurate to describe it as well. It had a dishwasher (not common for Pakistan), microwave and all the modern conveniences. Although the washing machine was not accessible, there is a dhobi (person who washes clothes) available and the complex also has cleaning staff who you can call to clean the apartment if need be. The apartment was clean, large and had nice terraces that would be great for relaxing on after a long day. (When we were there, there was construction going on opposite the apartment complex, but it did not bother us.) There is a nice looking golf course immediately beside the complex, that we did not have time to try out. We had a couple of guests visit us for tea during our stay and they were all impressed by the apartment and the complex. FYI, there is also quite a small tuck shop and canteen in the building, as well as an ATM. (For larger grocery trips we went to a cash 'n carry in Bhara Kahu.) Safety: there is plenty of security and we felt safe during our stay. The staff/security were also very willing to assist us as required. Hosts: our hosts were very gracious, accommodating and helpful during our stay. They were very prompt in responding to questions and very helpful in accommodating our requests. In some instances they went above & beyond what would be expected, in order to make sure we had a good trip (e.g. making sure that there was safe water & snacks waiting for my kids on arrival). I have no hesitation in recommending them. In short, this was an A+ apartment that helped make our stay in the Islamabad area for a week, a very enjoyable one.

A really great place to stay. Only minus is that you need a car if you would like to stay there. Other than this, this is a really good apartment for families to stay hosted by a wonderful and helpful person.

Let me tell you about this gem of a place. I couldn't wait to write this review because this experience really exceeded all my expectations. I chose Zeenat's place at the spur of the moment. I was visiting Pakistan and wanted to see the Capitol Islamabad. I went on airbnb and Zeenat's place popped up. What got me most interested was that this place is on a farm. She and her husband grow everything and anything you can think of so when you eat her amazing breakfast spreads you know it's all organic. The first night we got there Zeenat was gracious to come pick me up herself. When we got to the house we were greeted with the best peach juice that I've ever had. The glasses looked royal. The juice hit the spot and she smiled and said they are peaches from her garden. It doesn't stop there. She knew we were hungry so she took us over to her place for a lovely dinner. It was a traditional daal chawal which is my favorite. We met her husband and her nephew. I felt like I was at home with family. The place you stay at is away from the main house. It's spacious and nicely decorated. It's equipped with everything one can need on a traveling trip. Pets; there are dogs on the property they are big gentle giants that love taking selfies. There is a little guy with the sweeties eyes called general chote he's a happy puppy. Zeenat and her husband have many interesting stories of all the traveling they have done in the world. I could never get tried of talking to them which is why I'm already planning my next trip!! Oh and we can't forget Dhano the cow who proved the purest Mike two times a day which nourishes us. I wish I stayed longer. I would highly tell anyone to stay here if you are visiting Pakistan. If you are not visiting you really should to experience their home! I think I've made friends for life.

I had the best experience at Farah’s place, you will not find a better host in the whole of Pakistan. The place was very clean and exceeded my expectations. She is very welcoming and was only one call away if needed. 10/10 for everything and will definitely consider booking through her again without a doubt.
