Cottonwood Cove is a cozy property and cabin located on beautiful Lake Amelia, near Villard, MN. We are less than 20 miles SE of Alexandria, 8 miles from Glenwood MN. This space is great for a quiet getaway with family or friends. Tie the boat up to the dock, enjoy swimming, fishing, and breathtaking views. The original small log cabin is Amish built and relocated to our lake lot from a local Christmas tree farm. We added on just over 1000 sq ft to the cabin to complete Cottonwood Cove.

Schroeder Shores lake cabin

This family friendly cabin is attached to a seasonal campground. The cabin and patio look out at the lake. Lake Minnewaska is right across the street (quiet residential street) and the campground & cabin share 250' of sandy lakeshore. The lake is only waist deep 100' from shore with a sandy bottom so it is a great place to float or play water games. The cabin sleeps 6, 8 if you use the pullout couch. One full bath and one half bath. Full kitchen and grill to keep everyone fed and happy!

We had such a great time everything is so clean there's so much to do it's not too crowded and is in a great location easy to get to from the Twin Cities no traffic whatsoever out or back parking is right On site and the golf course is awsome highly recommend

We enjoyed feeling that we "stepped back in time" at your historical, quaint resort! Our interactions with employees were friendly and sweet. We could feel the power your place has as it likely continues to honor family (generations) for traditional summer visits. Many things for kids to use & do on the property. Very large lake. You were a perfect location in the midst of small communities for where we had to connect for a day of business. The large space offered in the main lodge room that we booked was great compared to a hotel room offering! Good restaurants & groceries a short 4 mile drive, bike ride into Glenwood.

Amazing experience for for myself, my son, and my mother. We experienced the fun of the resort, the peace of the location on the water, the Joy of sunsets in the doc, clean water to look into, and fish catching right out in front of the resort...We rented their boats, close enough to town still for any supplies and even to order food for delivery from town one night. For any runners, the road along the lake and how far you can travel on it is a paradise. Great experience!

Nice little cabin, well suited for a couple. Holly provided stuff for s'mores, a Keurig, and even a countertop ice maker, which was great for the hot weather! There were plenty of added supplies for recreation (kayaks, fishing poles, life jackets), which helped us keep our packing light. The spot on the lake is beautiful! Would recommend!
