Family-friendly holiday rentals in Platanos

My friend and I stayed at the accommodation for 5 days and were very satisfied with our stay. The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. The beautiful terrace with whirlpool is worth highlighting. The location is great. It is about 15 minutes by car to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is in a quiet location. It offers a good starting point for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fresh Greek salad, oranges, and wine. A few days later, we received fresh vegetables from the garden. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

It was super nice here. We were warmly welcomed and communication went smoothly. The place is as pictured. You're a bit up the mountain, which is super nice because it's much quieter there. The city and the beach are within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

Book this Airbnb. Do not think twice. Nice to be greeted with wine and snacks after the flight over. 3 styles of coffee makers with coffee. Sugar, spices, olive oil and balsamic to get you started. 4 bedroom 3 full baths. Great living and cooking areas. Very spacious for our group of 7. Clean and comfortable. Equipped with everything you could ask for. We made a few terrific meals with the grill and kitchen equipment. Harilao has put a lot of thought and planning in to his home. Gorgeous outdoor space with heated pool. Indoors is clean and uncluttered. The views are lovely. 1 minute on walk up the street to fresh bread daily and cute market. 3 minute walk down the street is a bigger market. 4 minute walk to my favorite beach. 8 Euro for 2 chairs and an umbrella. Bar right there if you want a drink. Walk to coffee, pastries, restaurants and bars near by. We loved the home and beach so much that we slipped a few day trips. 5 stars. I hope to come back! Our stay in Chania was wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. Ioanna was very accessible and friendly.

Great stay, great location, great views. Very close to many bars and restaurants. Not too noisy at night. The only slightly negative aspect was the shower. Basically made the entire floor flooded. Overall, i would recommend the place and would definitely return.

Hidden gem! Loved this home, literally two minute walk to Golden Beach. Katerina is so sweet (she met us in-person, had local restaurant recommendations, and even provided a bottle of wine). The home was perfect for our group of 6 (great value for the money, too). Would 100% come again!

What a wonderful house! We were surprised to be so close to 2 lovely beaches, great hikes and a delicious restaurant. We’re a family with 3 young kids and they loved the swing, swinging bench, jacuzzi, space to play inside. Dimitris left a baby crib, high chair, and toddler potty for us which was super helpful. The best was Dimitris was very kind upon greeting us late at night when we arrived.

A lovely, luxury appartment near the beach and about 30 minutes' walk from the old town of Chania. A well-equipped, clean and beautiful appartment, but above all the warm and friendly hostess Anastasia. She guided us around the area, brought local delicacies, stocked the fridge with food and even drove us to the grocery store with her car. We really enjoyed our stay at the appartment and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. You certainly wont't be disapointed!

If you love a vacation off the beaten track, away from the crowds of tourist resorts... this is your place. The house is located in a small village attached to the rock with stunning views of the Rokka gorge. The terrace you'll share with other guests is perfect for enjoying breakfast or an aperitif. Be aware that there are cats that come looking for food... for those with allergies... Marianna provided us with food for the first night and was always responsive to any questions or problems. Rokka is the ideal place to explore the beaches of the northwest of the island and Chania. The southwest beaches are at least an hour's drive away. We're taking beautiful memories with us Thank you.

Cannot overstate what a great experience this was, thanks to the atmosphere of the place and to Giannis's kind and attentive hosting. Beautiful accommodation on 3 floors, with indoor and outdoor spaces. We were in the heart of the lively Old Town, yet felt private and quiet at night. Ideal base from which to explore western Crete.

The apartment is as it appears in the photos, the terrace is huge, very cool, comfortable for breakfast, lunch or dinner watching the sea. Costas was always available, and left us a basket of fruit, muffins and chocolates. The area is fantastic to spend a few days and get to know part of the island. It is a tourist area but very quiet and comfortable, next to the beautiful town of Chania, which is wonderful and from the apartment you can walk a beautiful one-hour walk. By car it is less than 10 minutes and by bus that stops next to the house. Everything was very comfortable. The beach is also nice and the winged one is very beautiful.

There will not be enough superlatives to describe this place. The location overlooking the Venetian Harbor was amazing. The house is historic, beautiful and has all the amenities you will want. You literally won't believe the large rooftop deck with crazy views. The house had lots of interesting things to read, lots of space for a large group and it was stocked with maps and guidebooks. The neighborhood is completely safe. The in-person welcome from the hosts contained some really thoughtful surprises (you will need to find out yourself - I won't ruin the surprise welcome.). Fantastic Villa for our family party. Spacious, well equipt and with lovely pool and view. There are nice (and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance too). Neighbourhood was peaceful. We felt very much at home, mainly due to the fantastic hosting. Georgia and Andreas are so friendly. Cheerful , beautiful people. They want to make every part of the stay special. Thank you both! ❤️

Great place. Great location. Kitchen was a bit small for the size of the space, but very workable. Air conditioning on the first level for the common space didn’t work (we notified the owner but were told we were wrong - we weren’t). But that didn’t really affect our stay. If the weather was hotter I could see it being an issue. But overall, we really enjoyed the rental.

One of the most incredible houses I’ve lived in. Wonderful authentic hosts, a house with its own life and so many histories. Could have made it home for much longer. Next time!

We were immediately received super warmly by the landlord. The accommodation was fantastically beautiful, the sight was hard to describe. The rooms and the complex were very well maintained. The landlord is super nice, but not intrusive at all. We would come back anytime!

We really loved our stay in the Villa during the Easter break 2025. It was worth paying the extra for the heated pool since it was pre-season and we spent a lot of time in the pool. It is really convenient that a car was included in with the house since it is really recommended to have a car to explore the area and do grocery shopping. George was really good in communicating prior to our arrival and his English was really good so communication was really easy. He was really keen on us having a good stay and answered all our questions during the week. The house had a great layout suitable for up to five couples with an onsuite bathroom in each bedroom and a common bathroom close to the pool area. We hope to return to the house soon again and we can really recommend the place to others. Mattias with family

The home was beautiful and rustic. The pool area is an outdoor oasis with views of the sea and olive groves galore. Finding the home was a little tricky, but the neighborhood felt safe. There were a few restaurants within short driving distance. Nikolaos's was very kind and gave us lots of tips on nearby things to do and restaurants. I loved hearing about how the property had been in his family for many generations. You can tell he takes pride and great care for the home.

The place is charming and friendly also very well designed and built. The gardens are beautiful. We loved the resident cats but then we love cats. The valley is beautiful with almost no traffic so very peaceful. The swimming pool is great. It’s a special location , you definitely need a car to get about and visit the main beaches etc which were excellent and Kissamos which is good. The photos are very accurate but it’s better in real life

We stayed in Georgia's apartment for a week and everything was perfect! The hospitality of Georgia and her mother is something that is rarely found, made up of many small gestures of care and attention for their guests that make you feel pampered every day. Everything is clean and efficient, tastefully furnished and with a lot of attention to the little ones. A sincere thank you for everything, I hope we will return to your fantastic apartments!

Hello, we were 2 couples staying at Stelios’ beautiful villa for one week. The villa was amazing ! It was very, very clean, well equipped and everything looked new and worked well 🙂. Stelios was an amazing host who communicated well and wanted to make sure we had everything we needed. The location of the villa was ideal, close walking distance to everything (restaurants, cafes, grocery stores). The kissamos local beach was a 15 minute pleasant walk passing many small beach side taverns and cafes and bars. The beach’s sandy section was not too big and had nice beach loungers (set of 2 with umbrella 10-15 euros) with beach restaurants/bars right there. This was one of our favourite beaches as it was very clean and the water was warmer than other beaches in Crete. Our entire week stay at Stelios’ Villa was fantastic and we would highly recommend it to everyone ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️.

Andrea's villa and location was as wonderful as we'd hoped. We loved swimming in our private pool before breakfast and the view of the ocean from the terrace was outstanding, especially for sunsets, which were spectacular. The location was great, being situated away from crowds but with easy access to many beautiful beaches and tavernas. Andrea's handy hints were really useful, from where to refill water bottles from a spring, or which taverna on Sfinari beach to visit. He responded very quickly if we had any questions, so overall cannot recommend this villa highly enough. Thanks Andrea!

Nektaria and Niko’s’ hospitality is unmatched! They are such lovely and delightful people and made all of our family feel right at home from the moment we met them. The views and home are one of a kind! Such a special place my family will always remember. Absolutely would recommend to anyone visiting Crete and hope to be back again! :)
