Super logement, un environnement tres reposant sans aucun bruit autre que les oiseaux! Tout a disposition, tout propre. Mention spéciale pour les dosettes nespresso et les serviettes hygiénique qui m'ont sauvé la vie ! Peut etre un peu cher mais ca vaut le coup (un spa aurait été au top sur cette grande terrasse pour le prix). Super sejour en amoureux, mon conjoint a pu pêcher 5 carnassier en no kill donc top ! La barque superbe !

We had a great stay and would highly recommend for those in search of a very peaceful retreat! The property is full of character and the renovations completed by Thierry and Benedicte preserve the history of this amazing chateau.

We had a fantastic stay at Mary’s cottage! Mary is a wonderful host—warm, helpful, and incredibly knowledgeable. She gave us great recommendations for things to do in the area and shared thoughtful advice about our possible future move to France, which we really appreciated. The cottage is charming, clean, and very comfortable, with a beautiful and completely private garden that we had all to ourselves. Mary took the time to show us around on arrival and made sure we knew how everything worked. The wood-burning fire in the living room was already set up and ready to light, with a plentiful supply of dry wood and kindling provided. There was a terrific sense of having the home entirely to ourselves, while at the same time knowing that Mary was just around the corner should we need anything. Highly recommended!

Nous avons loué la maison de Justine pour un séjour entre amis, et nous avons passé un très bon week-end. La maison est une vrai maison de famille, pensée pour recevoir du monde, les chambres sont plutôt spacieuses et la grande terrasse au milieu de la nature avec le bain nordique ont enjolivés nos soirées. De plus la communication à été très bonne et nous avons toujours eu réponse à nos questions. Nous reviendrons très certainement !!

Très agréable et reposant. Un peu isolé mais c’est ce que nous recherchions. La maison est accueillante et très chaleureuse, les lits sont confortables et le linge de qualité, on y dort très bien, les chambres sont très vastes et bien meublées, très agréable terrasse et piscine au milieu d’un immense jardin sans vis à vis au milieu de la campagne. À proximité, nous recommandons une visite à Aubeterre et une ballade en canoë sur la Dronne qui est une rivière paisible et très nature aux eaux limpides, il y a une base de canoë très proche de la maison. Aller à Brantome ou à la grotte de Villars prend du temps par les petites routes tortueuses du Périgord vert mais le voyage vaut le coup. Un regret de ne pas avoir vu les fresques de l’église de St Meard sur Dronne mais ce sera pour la prochaine fois. Idéal pour un séjour en famille, beaucoup d’espace pour chacun. Et les fléchettes et le terrain de pétanque nous ont offert de très bon moments.

Our stay was great! Derk and his wife were very attentive and warm hosts, who welcome us and explained all about the region. The house corresponds to the pictures: it is beautiful, comfortable and cozy, has all the needed appliances for a pleasant stay in the countryside. Bathroom and shower are really good quality, living room extremely comfortable with a nice woodfire and the TV is actually larger than you can tell from the pictures. The garden is the highlight of the house, with a stunning view and a relaxing outside area for meals. The villages in the region are nice, with little shops, restaurants and sight seeing. Great recommendation for relaxing vacations! We would definitely like to stay in the Gite again in the future :) (and we love Ramsi, the golden retriever). Thank you Derk and family, we had a great time!

I spent 3 wonderful nights at Julie and Jim's superb 1 bedroom gite in Rioux Martin. I can't say enough good things about my experience. The inside of the gite was immaculately clean and very tastefully decorated. The outside space was equally nice and had all the necessary furniture to make outdoor dining pleasurable. This included both a front terrace for morning coffee and breakfast in the sun and a back terrace for evening cocktails and dinner. Lastly, Julie and Jim are so warm and gracious. They really seem to enjoy hosting guests from all over the world and they made my stay both comfortable and memorable. It was definitely one of the best Airbnb experiences I've had. Thank you Julie and Jim!
