Stayed just one night on our way to France as ideally located for the channel tunnel being just 5 mins drive away.. Very peaceful, in a lovely area and great host.

Had a lovely escape for a long weekend in this wonderful converted barn. Cozy with lovely gardens, very well equipped with lots of storage, and a short walk from some nice trails and scenic spots. Definitely recommend for a peaceful getaway and would come back again!

Sandgate Beachfront 1-bed flat sleeps 4

Fantastic gem of a find! Beautiful views, immediately across from the beach. Easy walk to a few eateries or a short drive/ride to other good food. Peaceful at night and all around a great location. Bed was comfortable and large windows let in plenty of light (bring a sleep mask during summer though, the sun is up early!!). Absolutely would stay here again next time I’m in this neck of the woods!

Wild Valley retreat shepherds hut

DavidRating, 5 stars4 weeks ago
Heaven is at Hawes Farm! This was by far and away the best stay I think I’ve ever had in the UK. The valley hut is situated on its own on a hillside that gives you unbelievable views and total seclusion & privacy. The bench swing, rope swing & new decked pergola made it feel like your own natural playground, and you really do feel part of nature. The view from the bed, the double French doors and even the loo were all spectacular & the resident, gentle hillside badger foraged around me both nights as I watched on silently. Elham Valley AONB is a hidden Kentish treasure - even the trip to the quality Fern & Farrow butchers & Tadpole tea rooms was a relaxing drive across stunning countryside. The eggs Hannah & Mark sell are clearly from happy hens - they were delicious! This was the break I needed. Thank you Hannah & Mark - you have created a truly magical space at your farm. If you’re reading this & questioning whether to book here, don’t - just do it!

Quiet cosy with countryside view

NiveditaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My husband and I had a wonderful three-night stay—it was everything we were looking for! The beautiful landscapes, sheep roaming nearby, and of course, sweet Sandy made it feel like a second home. The location is a perfect base for exploring places like Canterbury and the stunning coastal areas. We really enjoyed peaceful walks around the area, and a highlight of the walk was the fresh, delicious eggs from Longland Farm. The hosts were incredibly lovely and welcoming. During our visit, William kindly invited us to watch sheep shearing—it was our first time seeing it, and such a unique experience! The place has everything you need, and we especially loved the telescope provided by the hosts—it allowed us to spot all sorts of wildlife across the landscape. We’re already missing Sandy and would absolutely recommend this place to our friends and anyone looking for a relaxing countryside escape!

The Old School

Penny’s place was perfect for us to stay a relaxing night before getting le shuttle to France (so convenient for the terminal but you are also in a quiet village). We could easily have spent longer here. It’s a cosy self contained studio/annexe with lovely decor and everything we needed for our stay including some really thoughtful touches. The bed was extremely comfy, lovely bathroom and outdoor seating. Penny was really welcoming and helpful. I would definitely recommend this place.

Stunning! Little Hemsted Hut.

LauraRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Had a lovely stay in the cosy shepherds hut. It had all we needed and as a bonus the hosts left us some eggs from their chickens which made for a lovely breakfast. Peaceful and beautiful surroundings and although the weather wasn’t perfect, we still enjoyed sitting outside for meals and relaxation time. Would definitely recommend.
