Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Ontonagon County

We had a very comfortable stay at the Tamarack House while having a family ski weekend at the Porcupine Mountains Ski Area. My wife and I, along with our 6 kids, all had a comfortable bed to sleep on and we had everything we needed to make several meals while staying there. It was a very enjoyable time and we didn’t have to cram into a hotel room. We felt very much at home. Thanks again, we will be back!

John was awesome. Accommodating and responsive. He went out of his way to ensure we had what we needed and enjoyed our stay.

WE were in the area for work. Great place to stay with everything we needed to accommodate us for the week. Great communication from Nancy which made everything from check in to check out a breeze. Would stay again!!

This home is very charming. Living and dining spaces were perfect for our group of 5. Bedrooms were all a good size with lots of closet space. Very clean and had all the dishes, cookware, linens, and paper products you could possibly need. Location was great. We could walk to the beach and all the restaurants and shops. Easy access to the major routes. It was perfect for our needs.

Beautiful home in a beautiful, quiet location right on Lake Superior and totally surrounded by nature. Jason’s thorough communications were much appreciated. We’d love to visit again!

Such a lovely, updated home! So close to the Porkies and too many waterfalls nearby to make it to all of them. The Waterfall book on the coffee table was fabulous! I am going to get his collection for the whole state. Would love to make it back sometime in the next year.

Very happy with our accommodations .The kids really enjoyed the two game tables and the adults enjoyed large table and kitchen areas for entertaining

I would stay here again. We were up spring riding snowmobiles and you need to run a couple of miles of road to access the trail. Not a huge problem if there is plenty of snow but the roads were completely melted so it was a bit more challenging.

Ewelina’s place was the perfect setting for a quick weekend in nature. Ewelina was incredibly responsive and helpful. This cozy apartment was spotless upon arrival, comfortable, and was stocked with more than I could ever need. The attention to detail was evident; I cannot recommend this place enough.

Great place and our family had a really good time. Great location to be able to ski in and out and the wood stove was a nice touch. The house was hard to find in the dark when we first arrived and price seemed a little steep for what it was. Overall nice place and we would recommend.

We enjoyed our stay and it was very comfortable. The chair glide using the 23 or so steps was especially helpful to my handicap husband. Thank you.

Great as always. Everything you need after a day of skiing!!!! Close to Powderhorn, Blackjack and Indianhead. This is our 4th or 5th stay in this condo.

This was our 3rd stay here while working in town. Everything was great as usual and Kara was great with helping when we had to adjust our stay because of a work schedule change.

We so enjoyed our stay! It was homey, comfortable, and warm. Our host was very helpful with local recommendations and was able to offer a flexible checkout time, which was a welcome touch. Big Powderhorn was an easy 10 minute walk away!

We enjoyed our stay here. It was cozy and warm and just what we needed for a four day getaway. We walked around the little town, everyone was very friendly. Jacqueline was very sweet and responded when I had questions. We drove up to Copper Harbor and hiked. Stopped in Houghton had pizza at the Ambassador which we highly recommend. Hiked O Kun de Kun trail, Agate falls and Bond Falls! We would come stay here again!

This was the perfect location for our trip to the UP. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. Will definitely book here again.

Great place to stay at. Nothing beats being able to just walk out of you back door and be on the ski hill. Has everything anyone would need plus more.

This was a great place to stay for our end of the season ski trip. A close 2-minute walk to the chalet. There is a lift even closer, but it wasn't running, presumably because our stay was the last weekend of the ski season. The condo was clean, tidy, and had everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and cozy. Myron was super helpful and responded to messages within minutes. Being April, it wasn't cold enough to warrant using the hot tub, but it looked great. He offered to let us check out later since the cleaning crew wasn't arriving right at 11:00. Much appreciated! So much nicer to change in his condo rather than the chalet before our drive home. Looking forward to booking this condo again for our annual Michigan ski trip next winter!

We stayed during a snowstorm that dumped a foot of snow and Wendy made it really easy to add an extra night to the stay

We loved this place, very close to big Powderhorn, snow river and ironwood. The price was great considering how expensive lift tickets have gotten. A hot tub out back would make this place perfect!

My family along with the group of friends we brought along had a great time! For some of our grouop it was there first time to this lodging and skiing location and it proved to them that the ski-in/ski-out from the lodging was highly recommended and well worth it! Helena was very responsive on any questions we had and also was quick to jump on bringing over a few other items needed for the kitchen and bathrooms! We will look forward to scheduling another group at this location! It does have sleeping arrangements for 12 people, but we only had 10 this round and it was perfect allowing them all to be on a comfortable bed. Thanks again Helena for a great stay!

Great location from ski lodge. Nice place for the money. Only downside is not being able to control the heat. Otherwise, we loved it and will be back. Took our dogs so that was a huge bonus for us.

Great place to stay and ski!

Alexis and Luke are great hosts! They were very proactive in communicating leading up to our arrival and prior to our check out. Instructions for the lockbox, keys and garbage were very clear. We have stayed there before but for first timers, the instructions on how to get to the lodge were very clear also. They always had wood stocked at the entrance for the fireplace which was super nice. Very clean and cozy. It's ideal for skiing in and out at Black River Basin. We love staying at the Bunkhouse and will be back!
