Family-friendly holiday rentals in North Cowichan

The CQ was exactly what we wanted. Private cabin on a quaint farm. We had everything we needed and Henny knows exactly what she is doing! Great location 15 mins max to anything on the island. I stayed here with my Mom and two sisters- it was perfect! The hot tub overlooks the beach and is under a gorgeous canopy of trees that kept us dry from the rain. We had hummingbirds and quails visit us while we ate breakfast on the patio under a wisteria tree. The house is very cozy with everything you need and so many interesting things to look at. We went to Duncan and spent the day at the Farmer's Market, then had dinner just down the street, overlooking the water, while watching seals and birds fish. We are already discussing making the trip an annual event and plan to go again next year!

Jacquie place was outstanding and matched the pictures and description. Her place was cozy and had all the items (kitchen ware, linens, etc.) that you would need to feel at home, as well as backups which is always nice. Her property was on many acres, with owls, ravens and her horses which made the experience even more memorable - the hot tub was also a wonderful way to start and end the days. She was an excellent communicator and it was a wonderful first time experience to Mayne Island.

Carol’s place was AMAZING! The kitchen had everything needed to make meals for dining in, which we did a lot of because THAT VIEW!! We didn’t want to leave, just wanted to sit and watch for marine life. We saw seals, dolphins, eagles, and a family of 6 sea otters playing. When the evening started to cool we moved our binoculars to the hot tub to continue enjoying the views and serenity. My family agreed the beds were comfy and we all slept well. If you are looking for a go go go vacay Pender Island is not your place. If you want easy hikes in gorgeous surroundings, peace that reaches your very core, and super friendly people I definitely recommend Pender Island! The didc golf course has discs for public use and was really fun! Driftwood shopping center has all you will need. We recommend Sea Star Winery and a stop at Bee Wild distillery for tastings. We HIGHLY recommend Carol’s place!

This house was magic. From the second we walked in the door until the moment we left we were blown away. Nothing compared to sitting in the living room in late afternoon with the sun coming through trees. With two of the bedroom spaces requiring ladders, accessibility is definitely a consideration, but for us this was no problem and added to the feel of being in a treehouse. The unit had absolutely everything we needed, and then some. We will definitely be back!

If I could have moved in, I would have! Absolutely perfect base for our days on Vancouver Island. Janet provides anything you forgot or didn't know you needed! From slippers at the door to picnic baskets and ice, this lovely rental will spoil you! Much appreciated laundry service kept us fresh and the amazing hot tub was a perfect way to end our long days! This area is quiet and surrounded by parks with hikes and tidepools. Low tide out front yields purple starfish everywhere and other marine critters as well. Vancouver Island is spectacular. Sighted multiple whales on our Prince of Whales tour and Butchard Gardens are not to be missed. Canadian hospitality and respect for people and the environment is far superior to the US. Loved, loved, loved the stay and will make every effort to return!

Really nice area, my wife and I used it as a honeymoon spot. Even with other houses fairly close around, it still feels like you quite alone! The place is clearly designed to be a couples getaway spot, with the two shower heads, two person soaker tub and so on. There are some pretty decent restaurants about a 15 minute dive too. Bree was on top of things too, sent a message less than an hour after we arrived welcoming us and letting us know if we needed anything to message her. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay!

If I could rate this place 10 out of 5 stars I would!! Absolutely enchanting. The home was so charming and the hosts paid attention to every detail and then some! They’ve thought of everything you could want or need during your stay , with charm added on top. I can’t say enough about the stunning view and surroundings of WilderGarden. Location is perfect for getting out to the surrounding areas from Victoria over to Port Renfrew. Local food was delicious! Our hosts Kara and Loki were the best we’ve ever had with Airbnb. They answered all our questions, had great suggestions , notified us of some local things going on in cities or in nature! (Whale sightings and bird eggs almost ready to hatch) The home is comfortable and cozy , the hot tub is a perfect way to end the day. We saw otters, woodpeckers , rabbits , starfish , jellyfish , squirrels , deer, hummingbirds, and other birds. We will be back very soon!

We really enjoyed the tranquility. Having stayed for 3 nights, my wife and I would love to come back for a week or longer without our son. This place is so quiet and peaceful. It's the perfect for sitting in the yard, reading a few books and enjoying your thoughts.

Priceless views and amazing architecture are showpieces of this magnificent home that combines coziness, elegance, comfort and rustic charm. We’ve stayed at many airbnbs, but this one is a new favorite. It’s an ideal getaway for the whole family; plus it’s close to interesting hikes and restaurants. The kitchen is well stocked for eating at home. We didn’t enjoy the taste of the well water, but bought drinking water at Tru Value. Carley was very responsive and helpful throughout. We would love to come back in the summer.

A great place to relax and rest. the view from the patio over the harbour is so peaceful. The inside space is large and airy. the kitchen is well equipped for cooking meals. we would come back again!

Not only is this home luxurious and immaculate, it is a nourishing step back in time where everything is hand-made, lovingly curated, and generously shared. I can’t recommend this little cottage enough. And if you’re blessed enough to walk the gardens, well…delightful doesn’t even come close. I really recommend this stay for a family or anyone looking to slow down and savour a beautiful time.

We loved this gem of a cabin in the woods in East Sooke. The hosts thought of everything and the place was in fabulous condition, and was an experience in its own. We spent time in Sooke, whale watching, hiking and exploring. Unwinding in this cabin retreat made for the perfect holiday. The cabin was comfy, and every thing you need to cook and rest was included. Enjoying some time with the goats on site made our kids super happy as well. I would recommend this spot if you are traveling in Sooke! You won’t be disappointed.

Kevan's home is thoughtfully decorated, cozy and comfortable. There is lots of seating, indoors and out making it a great place for our family to hang out together. The kitchen is fully equipped, and all appliances function well. The beds are comfortable and everyone slept well. The standout is the spectacular garden. A true oasis. We hope to have the opportunity to stay again. Lisa

Sheila's place felt like a treehouse retreat The bed was super comfy! We loved waking up "in the treetops" and listening to the birds. We barely spent time here except to sleep as were were with other family members on vacation and spent the days out and about with them. Sheila recommended places to explore and eat around town....super cute airbnb and beautiful town!

Corinne was a fantastic host. Her beach house is tranquil, immaculately clean and the property is absolutely outstanding . The kids toys and games kept our toddlers busy when they weren’t searching the beach for treasures. we can’t wait to come back!!

we had stayed in the same building last year in our first trip to Vancouver and found the location to be pretty ideal. There is a SkyTrain station that literally within steps, it is across the cul-de-sac from one of the best Asian markets I've ever been to (T&T Supermarket) and the building has included parking as well as a very nice pool and gym included with the stay. The only downside is absolutely no fault of the host at all, but there are a lot of homeless and fentanyl addicts milling about just outside in the plaza. I feel bad for them more than anything, and they were not threatening or bothering anyone, a couple were even quite nice, it's just sad to see.

the condo is very clean, well kept, great details and in a very good location. what I did not like was the noise level. although its the 28th floor but the street and metro noise is surprisingly high for such a high floor. I would still go back again to this place as the overall stay was good. also the 3rd br is good for 1 person that is very easy going as it has no windows, no ventilation and no space to walk around. again everything was exactly like the photos so no surprises other than the noise level.

Donald was a very good host to work with. We were happy with the condo, it was spacious and had what we needed to enjoy a great time. So nice to have the pack and play for our baby. The upper and lower floors were so nice to give privacy when traveling with multi family. The grounds were beautiful and the heated pool and hot tub were really nice. A short walk to access Rathtrevor Beach, which is awesome We would book again next time we come!

This is a great place to stay to be next to downtown Victoria. It’s as advertised in the listing’s description and photos. There’s plenty of room for a couple and everything is in good condition. Washroom facilities, washer/dryer units, and wifi all worked well. We did not use any of the cooking appliances. The location is walkable to plenty of restaurants/bars in the area. We were comfortable and felt safe walking around at night; we did not have any issues with noise. Agata is a great host! Her instructions made check-in and check-out super easy. She responded within minutes anytime I messaged her. Overall, I would highly recommend this place, especially for couples, if you want to be next to downtown Victoria.

We had a great stay! Grandkids swam in the pool most every evening, and it was great to have the beach so close! Accommodations were very clean, comfortable beds, and the kitchen was well stocked with utensils needed for preparing meals and grilling. The grands loved discovering the box of toys too!

Derek’s place was very clean and cozy. It was very welcoming and we felt like home when we stayed at his place. My family were very comfortable while staying there and Derek was also easy to communicate wiith. Overall we had a wonderful time.

Beautiful place right on the ocean. It was great having the heated pool, hot tub and kids play area. A short drive to great cafes and bakeries.

Judy's place was clean, tidy & well equipped. We had everything we needed with all of the comforts of home. the kids loved the amenities of rathrevor Beach & the pool being near by! thank you! we will definitely be back!!
