Not to forget this beautiful view of the sunset 🤩 Not only is the accommodation perfect, but the hosts, Maria and Savas, are great hosts! Friendly and courteous, and always available! They brought toys for my son and despite the fierce challenge with the Sahara dust, they did everything to ensure that we can enjoy our vacation 100% 😊 We are already looking forward to our next visit to Crete and to Maria. This house was absolutely amazing – just like in the pictures, if not even better! The location right by the beach is truly breathtaking, and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful setting. All the furniture and appliances are top-of-the-line – everything was spotless, high-quality, and incredibly comfortable. Ria was a fantastic host – super friendly, always quick to respond, and very helpful. We really appreciated how kind and welcoming she was. We truly enjoyed every moment of our stay and would recommend this house to absolutely everyone. A perfect getaway!

Absolutely perfect! Brilliant property and brilliant host. Despina was so lovely, gave us great recommendations and she even left us some food in the fridge for breakfast because of our late flight. The villa is lovely and has everything you need for a holiday. Clean and well maintained. There was extra cleaning during the week. Great view of the sea and the mountains. The cars passing on the main road, which is 100m below the villa, create a slight noise, but it is not unbearable. Maria is a great host and despite the late evening time of arrival she was waiting for us with a smile. She took care of us all the time and gave us valuable advice. There was a problem with the dishwasher, which was fixed the next day as soon as I informed Maria. We had a great week and would come back again.

Our family of five had an unforgettable stay here! The home was spotless, beautifully restored, and had everything we needed. The village is incredibly picturesque, the locals were kind, and the overall hospitality was second to none. It was the perfect place to unwind after a day at the beach or exploring nearby attractions. The pool was a huge hit with our kids, and the views of the mountains and sea were stunning. What made it truly special were our hosts—Kostas and Nantia went above and beyond. They arranged a meal for our late arrival and offered fantastic local tips that made our trip even better. We felt genuinely welcomed and well cared for throughout our stay. Highly recommend! Did I mention how gorgeous the home is…

We LOVED our stay at Butterfly, and felt sad when we left! We came to Crete for a week for a birthday celebration, and wanted to be a little out of the tourist areas. Our check in was seamless, and Theo from Muses travel was always contactable to help us out with anything. The WiFi wasn’t working properly when we got there, and everyone went out of their way to get it fixed for us. The village of Armeni was beautiful and had an excellent mini market (shoutout to Niko), and a couple of great restaurants. Rethymno is a beautiful city which is just 10 minutes away. There were four of us so it was reasonably priced to hire a driver for our day trips, so we saw Knossos and Heraklion, and then also took a day trip to Spili, Agia Galini and Matala. If we ever get back to Crete would LOVE to return to Butterfly.🦋

We loved our time here. Recently renovated with care, the house strikes a balance between modern comfort and historic charm. It’s spacious, thoughtfully designed, and finished to a high standard. Located in the quaint village of Gerani, about a 10 minute drive from Rethymno, we genuinely appreciated being outside the city and immersed in the village atmosphere. Gerani has everything you need — a supermarket, great bakeries, and a few solid restaurants — our favourite being Maxis. The village also has easy access to the highway, which made it a perfect base for day trips to beaches and nearby towns, all while skipping the congestion of Rethymno. Damnoni and Kalypso beaches on the southern coast were a highlight. We found everyone we communicated with very nice and easy to deal with. Worth the stay!

I already miss this house. It’s like a fairytale cottage. So many cute little spaces indoors and out. Character and charm! It’s old with stone steps and some low doorways, so don’t be clumsy. Our hosts were hospitable and kind. We felt right at home. There are many flowers, herbs and trees. Unforgettable.

Konstantinos’s place is perfect. The location is beautiful and only a short drive to some of best beaches we have ever been to. The pool is so lovely and surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery. I have never had a shower with such a good view! I wouldn’t change a thing and would recommend to anyone.

We had a lovely stay at Maria’s place. It was in a great location, very central, but we also found it very peaceful and quiet after 10/11pm, so it was easy for us to sleep well. The apartment was beautiful, with lots of space and a nicely stocked kitchen which allowed us to do plenty of cooking. The apartment had a beautiful view of the lighthouse from the dining table, and a lovely view of the street below from the balcony. Would definitely recommend.

We had a great week at this house at the sea. Our boys loved it. We will come back.

The four of us enjoyed the stay very much. The location was perfect, so you could easily reach the beach and activities. The service and the design of the outdoor area were particularly outstanding.

We had a wonderful stay in Aptera. The location was perfect; close to Chania and an easy drive to other locations in western Crete but still rural, quiet, and private. There's an incredible view of the mountains right out of the front door. Mihalis was really friendly and gave us many local recommendations. We highly recommend a stay here!

Eleftherios is a very likeable, helpful and great host! The small house is usually well shaded in the middle of an olive grove. You can pick mulberries from the terrace, a little further there are fresh oranges and lemons. The accommodation is not only beautiful, but also very well thought out. In addition to the good insulation, in which a short use of the air conditioning also cools, the fly screen in front of the large bedroom window, the Bluetooth box, the large terrace with a beautiful view of the olive grove, it is the small, well-considered things that simply give pleasure. Starting with sharp, small knives, mosquito repellent, coffee, detergent, good shower gel, orange press, good cooking utensils... We will be back, no question!

We felt very comfortable right from the start and were completely satisfied with the accommodation. In addition to the wonderful terrace with a fantastic view, the accommodation has a very good location. You can reach restaurants, supermarkets and the beach within a few minutes. We are always happy to come back. :)

We had an awesome time at Nikos’s place, he gave very useful tips and his apartment is at walking distance from everything in Matala(as the village is very small). As mentioned in other posts, there are quite a few steps to the place but you get used to it, and it’s a great workout after a big dinner in one of the restaurants below. One of the days it was too windy to be on the beach so we stayed on the terrace of the accommodation with a great view of the sea, the sound of the waves and privacy from others. Perfect for a romantic getaway. Thank you Nikos!

I truly recommend staying with Niko in this beautiful villa! The house is very modern, the outside area spectacular and private and the communication with Niko was clear and helpful. The accommodation works for both families and friends. The house is located around 30mins from Chania which is easy to get to by car. Can only recommend renting this villa.

Electra was just amazing. We met her close to the apartment and she brought us there to do the check-in in with us. She is super friendly and shared some recommendations with us. The place is as described, it has everything needed for a few days. The garden and the spot under the olive tree are beautiful to have breakfast or read. Note: you will need a car to get there, but it is just a short drive to some restaurants and supermarkets. It was a really great stay and a good location to explore the west of Crete and its beaches.
