정말 너무너무 좋았던 숙소였습니다. 이틀만 머물렀다는 게 아쉬울 정도로, 평화롭고 아름다운 동네에 자리한 완벽한 힐링 공간이었어요. 무엇보다도 마리의 친절함이 잊히지 않습니다. 제가 가고 싶은 곳마다 직접 픽업해주셨고, 버스정류장까지도 정성스럽게 배웅해주셨어요. 심지어 동네의 숨겨진 명소들까지 소개해주시며 , 좋은여행을 위해 노력해주시는 그 따뜻한 마음에 정말 감동받았습니다. 또, 자전거도 빌려주셔서 동네를 천천히 돌며 여유롭게 달릴 수 있었던 시간이 정말 큰 힐링이었어요. 잔잔한 바람을 맞으며 풍경을 바라보는 그 순간들이 오래도록 기억에 남을 것 같습니다. 저녁과 아침으로 정성껏 차려주신 식사는 제가 일본에서 먹은 음식 중 단연 최고였습니다. 음식 하나하나에 정성과 마음이 느껴졌고, 그 순간들을 절대 잊지 못할 것 같아요. 제가 일본어를 잘 못해서 충분히 마음을 표현하지 못한 게 아쉬웠지만, 다음에는 꼭 언어 공부를 더 해서, 마리와 더 많은 대화를 나누고 싶어요. 다음에는 꼭 더 오래 머물고 싶습니다. 이런 숙소와 이런 사람을 만날 수 있었다는 게 얼마나 큰 행운인지… 다시 한 번 감사드립니다. 本当にありがとうございました、マリさん。また会える日を楽しみにしています。

Very nice host and make guests like return home. Property locate at village with quiet neighborhood and nice view. I definitely will choose this property again if I travel to Japan

I stayed for my last day in Japan just looking for somewhere to sleep since I had to sleep in a net cafe the day before, and this place was amazing, the host was very friendly and responsive. The futon was extremely comfortable, almost makes me want to replace my bed back home. The room was clean and had just about everything you could need. Would absolutely suggest this place to a friend or anyone looking for a quiet place to stay in a calm neighborhood.

일본에서 잊을 수 없는 경험하고 싶다면 이 숙소를 꼭 예약하세요! 평화롭고 아름다운 집(숙소) 외관을 지나서 손님이 묵는 방을 들어가면 정말 환영받는 기분이 듭니다. 일본 전통의 신비로운 느낌과 고즈넉함이 담긴 정말 멋진 방이기 때문입니다.(집 자체가 일본 전통 집인 것이 아니라 손님방의 인테리어가 그러합니다.) 호텔을 예약한다면 이런 경험하기 어려울 것입니다. 가족들이 사는 곳이지만 손님 전용 사워실과 화장실이 있어서 마음 편안하게 이용할 수 있었습니다. 돈을 지불하면 맛있는 일본 식사도 내어주십니다. 원한다면 빵과 샐러드 같은 음식도 먹을 수 있습니다. 토키씨의 요리는 정말 맛있고 정갈합니다. 개인적으로 생선 요리 정식이 정말 맛있었습니다. 그리고 본국에서 절대 먹어 볼 수 없는 우메보시를 먹어볼 수 있어서 흥미로웠습니다. 토키님이 자전거도 빌려주셔서 동네의 이곳 저곳을 구경할 수 있었습니다. 동네가 고요하고 아름다워서 그냥 자전거만 타고 다녀도 좋았습니다. 저는 공립 도서관을 다녀왔는데 비록 일본어로 된 책이라 읽을 수 없었지만 조용하고 평화로운 분위기가 좋았습니다. 또 가족들도 정말 따뜻하고 좋은 사람들입니다. 특히 미소가 아름다우신 토키님과 대화하는 것이 정말 즐거웠습니다. 여러 나라 사람들과 만나신 토키님의 얘기는 흥미로웠습니다. 토키님은 영어도 가능하셔서 저의 서툰 일본어라도 자신있게 말할 수 있었습니다. 서툰 일본어라 듣는 데 힘이 드셨을 것 같은데 천천히 다 들어주셔서 감사했습니다. 도쿄로 지하철을 타고 나갈 수 있습니다. 도쿄같은 거대한 도시의 화려함을 경험하는 것도 정말 재밌었습니다만 다른 나라에서 사는 다른 문화를 가진 사람들의 평범한 일상에 녹아들었던 경험은 정말 잊을 수 없을 것입니다. 꼭 다음에도 방문하고 싶습니다.

Wonderful place! I highly recommend it. My only issue was the commute to central Tokyo, but it was only about 20min. And that can also be a good thing! There's a traditional bento shop right below who make some very good food in the mornings.

Etsu should write the textbook on hosting people. Staying at matcha terrace was truly a special experience. The home is even more beautiful than the pictures. One day I was not feeling well, Etsu did everything she could to make sure I felt better. I am really happy I was at matcha terrace at that time. It is a beautiful Japanese home. It’s very quiet, and you get a lot of privacy and room for yourself. She cooks an AMAZING breakfast every morning. It’s a beautiful way to start your day. She drove me to and from the station. On my last day she stopped to show me the Hydrangeas at a local shrine. As a solo traveler she offered to take pictures of me, without me asking. No detail is too small for Etsu. She has local insights and gives very good recommendations. I plan on coming back to matcha terrace the next time I am in Japan. Seriously a special place and an incredible host. Would highly recommend! Plus a cute dog 😊

タイ出身のLekさんの頑張りが印象的でした。本場のガパオライスを作ってくれて感激しました。アローイ！小学1年生の桂井えりはちゃん、まりはちゃんが可愛かったです。教えてもらった都賀のタイ食材店「チェンライストア」に行って、レモングラス、コブミカンの葉、パクチー、レッドカレーペーストなどを買いました。自宅でトードマンプラーを作ります。Lek & Yasujiは、タイが好きになるゲストハウスです。一緒に千葉を盛り上げましょう。

We had a truly wonderful stay at this beautiful, traditional Japanese home. The host lives upstairs, and guests stay on the ground floor. When hosting, he graciously vacates the space so we can have it all to ourselves. The house is very clean and well maintained. What touched us most was the host’s lifestyle — deeply connected to nature, with a clear commitment to organic, chemical-free living. The toiletries he provided were all natural and of high quality, even safe for our baby. His values made such an impression on me that after returning home, I started researching how to buy pesticide-free food and natural products in Singapore. The house is close to a shopping mall near the airport, and a beautiful temple is nearby, next to an old Japanese street full of local snacks. Outside the home are peaceful rice fields, where our baby loved watching frogs and walking freely. The host was warm and welcoming — he greeted us on arrival and sent us off at departure.
