Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mýrdalshreppur

This place is located in a beautiful location, has lots of space, a very nice great room with tons of windows and good amenities. We very much enjoyed the views and having a nice open kitchen for cooking. Further, the inside sauna was enjoyable and easy to use. The hot tub is wood-fired, so it requires about 5 hours to get going - which we couldn't make work for a one-night stay, but they do disclose that in the onsite information. The location is very secluded - which is great for outdoor privacy. They even had a full washer / dryer - which is helpful compared to the combined version. Overall, this is a great place - you should feel comfortable booking.

Lovely cozy cabin with beautiful views. You can fit up to 6 people in the 2 bedrooms if some folks are up for climbing to a top bunk or sleeping loft. The space worked well for our family of 4 with 2 adult children. Be sure to gather any needed groceries other provisions before arrival - this is in a rural area with no stores in the immediate vicinity. But that is the beauty of the location - enjoy the peaceful beauty!

The Nature Park is a beautiful hub to explore south Iceland - the views are amazing and the surrounds serene. The homes are sleek and very well equipped. The sauna served us well, as did the hot tub. Just know that the hot tubs are wood-fired, and take 3-4 hours to get up to temperature, so start the process as soon as you check in if you want a dip. Once it gets up to temperature, it can stay very hot for several hours.

This was our favorite place while staying in Iceland! It felt like we were in the middle of nowhere, the views were amazing! Host drove us to the location, so we knew exactly where to go. Sauna was fabulous, wish we would have had a bit more time to use the hot tub.

We absolutely loved this home. The decor and aesthetic are amazing and we felt like we were in a locals home that had lovely design and everything we needed. Beautiful setting around the house, and we just loved our stay here!

We loved our stay here! The little cabin was so cozy! We enjoyed meeting the animals, particularly the cat that came and visited us. If you have time, definitely climb the little mountain nearby. It was one of the highlights of our trip!

I highly recommend staying at Eyglo's place. Located in Vik, my favorite town in Iceland, this house has an excellent location -- an easy walk to a beautiful beach. Also a 5-minute walk to a heated pool, with sauna and hot tub. The town is surrounded by dramatic cliffs and the ocean and has a picturesque church in the center. For a small town, it has a large number of restaurants. It is also well located for seeing sites along Iceland's south coast. Eyglo was extremely friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay at her place again if I have the chance.

Die Hütte war einfach zauberhaft! Super gemütlich eingerichtet. Ich habe mich sofort wie zu Hause gefühlt. Alles war sehr funktional und durchdacht, es hat wirklich an nichts gefehlt. Der Empfang durch Ragnar war sehr freundlich und persönlich. Ursprünglich hatte ich etwas Sorge, dass es tagsüber durch die Nähe zum Reynisfjara-Strand vielleicht laut oder trubelig werden könnte, aber es war wunderbar ruhig und entspannt. Insgesamt ein ganz besonderer Aufenthalt, den ich sehr weiterempfehlen kann!

The house was at a great location, only 10 minutes from Seljalandfoss and Skogafoss. The surroundings were beautiful! The place was spotless, all amenities as described. The house was warm and cozy upon entry, bathroom was floor heated. Jon was very responsive. The only small drawback was that the road to the house was unpaved and a little hard to drive on, but thats a minor point. Would love to stay again!

Bellissima casetta in mezzo alla natura, piccola ma davvero confortevole, con tutto il necessario per il soggiorno. Immersa nella natura con una vista stupenda sulle montagne, un posto davvero tranquillo. abbiamo passato una notte meravigliosa. la consiglio davvero tanto!

Wir waren im Mai für 2 Nächte da und waren sehr zufrieden. Alles war wie beschrieben, gut ausgestattet und der Check in war einfach. Die Unterkunft war gut zu finden und inmitten wunderschöner Natur. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder. :)

Super, wygodnie, czysto, pełne wyposażenie, wygodne łóżka, komfortowa łazienka, ładny widok. Byliśmy w 5 osób i było dobrze. Ocena 5/5, polecam!

Cottage is in a very nice position with an amazing view. Clean and easy to access. A little renovation on the furniture may be needed but overall was a good stay. Recommended.

My mom and I loved staying with this host. Breakfast was fresh, home made and delicious. Host Jon was flexible and very interesting conversation. He gave great recommendations for restaurants that we tried and were very happy with. I love getting to go on a morning walk surrounded by animals.
