Family-friendly holiday rentals in Moires

We have just had the most gorgeous family holiday at Villa Belle Helene . It is the perfect villa equipped to the highest standards both inside and out and exceeded all our expectations. Inside is spacious and all the rooms have excellent air conditioning which was very welcome in the heat. We spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoor areas, especially the pool and jacuzzi which were perfect to cool down in the heat and to enjoy. The sheltered area outside the lounge is perfect for eating and BBQs and the raised outdoor seating area with TV provides the opportunity to unwind in an evening. It is 10 mins walk up to Old Hersonnissus which has a lovely square with Tavernas and bars. Hiring a car is worthwhile to explore the island further but not essential as its easy to book taxis. Eleni and her family are absolutely lovely, they could not be more helpful and made us so welcome. We would absolutely recommend this villa and would love to stay again if we go back to Crete.

Our family of 12 (ages 13 to 82) from Canada spent a week at this beautiful villa. Corresponding with our host from booking to departure was very responsive and professional - we even got to meet the owners who were very hospitable. The villa was very beautiful, the property was incredible and the surroundings and the view were magnificent. In other words we loved the place. We had all the conveniences an active family like ours could ask for: lovely pool, tennis court, ping pong table, pool table, exercise room, basket ball court, BQ area, not to mention the luxury and comfort of the villa and its surrounding area. We were within walking distance to the village with it's friendly people, grocery shopping and a great restaurant. The walk was interesting and filled with beautiful scenery and views, wondering sheep and goats and barking dogs. La vue est magnifique. La vieille ville est à 30 minutes de marche. Les lits sont confortables et il y a suffisamment de draps et de serviettes. Cuisine bien équipée. Téo est très avenant et il est facile de communiquer avec lui. Je recommande.

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour ! Tout s'est très bien passé. Le logement était conforme à nos attentes : confortable, bien équipé. Un grand merci à Angelina et Céline pour leur disponibilité et leur gentillesse, aussi bien avant notre arrivée que pendant le séjour. Le seul petit bémol, que nous connaissions à l'avance, est l'emplacement un peu isolé qui nécessite d'être véhiculé. Heureusement un service de navette est proposé, ce qui est un vrai plus. Une adresse que nous gardons précieusement et que nous recommandons !

Very high class Villa, if you are looking for quality accommodation then look no further. My family consisted of 7 adults and an 18 month old, stayed for 8 days. Everyone loved it. There is a great traditional taverna only 10 minutes walk away, a big supermarket 15 mins by car and great beach again just 15 mins by car. We were there in May, spend most of the time around the pool and firing up the fantastic BBQ!

The house is simply gorgeous. Our family had a wonderful Christmas holiday here. The host was very generous with items in the refrigerator and a well stocked kitchen. Lots of recommendations of places to eat in the area. Michael met us in the driveway upon arrival and showed us everything in the house, that was very kind. Especially loved access to the washer and dryer because we were traveling with kids. It was too cold to use the pool, but if you are here when it is warm, it would be such delight.

Very nice modern house (less than five years old?) overlooking the sea. Everything in very good working order, including powerful air conditioning in the bedrooms. Frequent cleaning of the pool area was a benefit, particularly when a storm had come in the night before. Very convenient to Rethymno as well as to several bakeries and restaurants towards the centre of the island.

We had a great week of family at the Promachon Villa. The villa is very big and specious, highky maintained very well eqipped. Stella and her husband were really great hosts. They responded very fast to any request we had. The swimming pool is rather big and lovely. The house is located on an isolayed and quiet area 10-12 minutes drive from the city center. On behalf of all 13 members of the Zakay family I would like to thank you Stella for giving us such an incredible family vacation. We would really love to come back again. Ef christo Stella!🙂

nous avons passé une belle semaine dans le logement de Maria. La terrasse couverte est la plus belle pièce de la maison avec une vue magnifique sur la mer. La plage est à moins de 5 min à pied, par contre attention, pour les personnes qui ont des difficultés à marcher, la pente est plutôt raide à remonter. Maria est très réactive et répond très vite aux messages. agia pelagia reste une petite station balnéaire très bien situé pour visiter le Nord de l'île. Belle découverte

Four friends and I stayed in this rustic, charming, beautiful and overall homie space for 7 days while we attending a wedding and we all unanimously could not have been more happy! This is a space that you feel so great walking into over and over. I had the best meal of my life with the entire party literally around the corner… maybe 20 steps and we were all in glee. The entire area in old town is gorgeous. You cannot see it any other way. There is a vibe to match your needs somewhere around another corner no matter what you look for on your trip. Shopping was excellent. The feeling of safety was consistent throughout the trip. People are friendly and common throughout the town even throughout the wee morning hours as many places do stay open quite late to always provide an option. I had said by day 1 I knew I would already come back here. Vassilis was a proactive and responsive gentleman in hosting. Truly a pleasure to deal with him and I really do hope to return for vacation. Thanks!

Ein wunderschönes Haus mit einer Top-Lage direkt am Meer. Der Vermieter ist sehr engagiert und super freundlich. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.

We can highly recommend this accommodation. It's tucked away in a very secluded spot, which makes it wonderfully peaceful. At the same time, you can reach restaurants and a mini market in just a few minutes. A car is essential! The garden is stunning. The biodiversity is incredible. There's always something new to discover. The house is quite small and simply furnished, but that was absolutely fine. Everything was clean, and that's what matters most. The long driveway leading to the house can be a bit intimidating—it just slopes down without any railing or guard. But that’s just part of the Cretan charm. Giannis was always very friendly and helpful—thank you for everything! We also got to know the neighboring family and even visited them. Such kind people. And the animals! Aphroditi the horse, a peacock, chickens, and turkeys—our daughter loved them. Overall a great experience. We were very happy and would definitely recommend it. Who knows—maybe we’ll be back in a few years!

We loved staying at Petros's place. The location is picture perfect and completely serene, coupled with the stunning views - perfect getaway gem. The villa is beautifully designed with lots of places to explore and hang out in. Petros is very accommodating and all around helpful from assisting us in setting up the outdoor speakers to offering to make restaurant reservations on our behalf. We had an absolutely amazing time and hope to stay at the villa again when we come back to Crete. Highly recommend!

wenn man es ruhig haben will ist es der perfekte Ort, Stella gab auch gute Tips unter anderem eine Autovermietung (Tsoukos Rent a Car) was für mich sehr hilfreich war um so die Umgebung ( etliche Beaches und Sehenswürdigkeiten) flexibel zu erkunden. Restaurants, Bars etc im Hauptort Analipsi sind von der Wohnung auch in ein paar Minuten Fußweg zu erreichen. Alles in allem kann ich die Wohnung absolut empfehlen und ich würde auch immer wieder gerne dort buchen !

We just loved everything about this airbnb!!!!! The house was AMAZING, incredible views, incredible features, we went to the pool, did barbecue, breakast with ocean view, everything and more we expected! Konstations is THE BEST host we ever got!! Not only he was hiper reactive, attentious ( he made sure to got us on the airport so we arrive well, his mom cooked us food because they would imagine we would arrive late and hungry), incredibly generous and nice!! We have many tips and support during the full trip ! Everything and more that we expected! Thank you again

Non seulement le thème de l’appartement était excellent, mais il était aussi confortable et très bien situé !! La communication avec George était très fluide. C’est non seulement un hôte amical, mais il est aussi flexible et donne de très bonnes recommandations !! En résumé, le séjour était au top 🤗

We had a wonderful time at this stunning villa! The view of the sea is absolutely breathtaking, and the large pool was a true highlight. We especially loved the amazing outdoor kitchen with a pizza oven – perfect for relaxing evenings and cooking outdoor with Kids. Dimitra and her family were incredibly warm and welcoming, making us feel right at home from the very beginning. There are several tavernas with great food within walking distance. We felt completely at ease and would love to come back!

We loved our time here. It was so peaceful and relaxing, and our host was gracious, leaving us snacks and a beautiful moussaka in the fridge on arrival (a welcomed surprise after a long day of travel). We were obsessed with the view, and could have spent a lifetime watching the sunsets. We really enjoyed our week and can’t wait to return for our next holiday!

Wir haben uns insgesamt sehr wohl gefühlt, waren immer gut betreut und die Wohnung entsprachvoll unseren Erwartungen. Man muss wissen, dass in den Abendstunden auch das ein oder andere Flugzeug nach Heraklion fliegt. Ein kleiner Supermarkt ist direkt vor Ort und zu Fuß in 2Minuten erreichbar. Ansonsten ist ohne Mietwagen ein schnelles Einkaufen oder Essen gehen mit öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln nicht so einfach. Mit Auto alles kein Problem in fünf Minuten in großer Auswahl. Die Aussicht und die Wohnung sind sehr gut. Schwimmen vor Ort zu Fuß in fünf Minuten sehr gut möglich unterhalb der Wohnung. Diese war viel großzügiger als erwartet. Insgesamt kommen wir gerne wieder.

Lovely villa sitting in the hills outside of Rethymno City. All self contained and immaculately kept and maintained. Very responsive host who was most welcoming. Nikos and his daughter Katerina did a fantastic job responding to our needs and making us most welcome. Katerina has superb English so communication was never a problem. Would thoroughly recommend. It would also suggest you need a car to get about either down the hill to City and beaches or up the hill to mountain villages and exploring. Pool is great and outdoor space around the villa is superb. Reccomendations - we followed up on a few authentic tavernas from Katerina and they were superb. Would defo go and eat at Athivoles Taverna in Chromonastiri. Only a short drive away ie 7 km but basically the most authentic Cretan cuisine you will taste for sure. Hits were magnificent. All in all we had a great family holiday.

Absolutes Paradies für (Klein)Kinder. Jede Menge Spielgeräte und Spielsachen für Pool/Strand und gleichzeitig total sicher durch die Poolumrandung und Zäune. Die Kinder (3Jahre & 1Jahr) wollten überhaupt nicht gehen und wir konnten uns oft nicht zwischen Strand oder Pool entscheiden, weil die Unterkunft so schön war. Unglaublich schöne Aussicht, insbesondere auf den Sonnenuntergang, sodass es auch für uns Erwachsene jeden Abend perfekt war. Keine Strandbar nötig;) Falls wir wieder nach Kreta kommen auf jeden Fall wieder hier her. 100% Weiterempfehlung.

We, a family of 2 adults and to kids (age 7 and 9) spent a week in this beautiful villla and we had a wonderful holiday. The spacious, tastefully decorated villa had all the amenities for a relaxing stay. The outdoor space was a highlight, featuring a large terrace, sun loungers, a private pool, and a barbecue area, perfect for enjoying the sun, swimming and dining. The hosts were welcoming and helpful, responding quickly. They were also flexible with regards to arrival and departure, which we truly appreciated.

We had a super time with Stefani and Antonis. The villa is super, the pool was warm, the area quiet, and the view down to Herssonios and out right to the mountains was lovely. We chose it because it was walking distance to some shops and restaurants. The village is lovely and a short 5-10min walk from the villa. We were at the very end of the season, so many of the restaurants in the village closed, but we always found somewhere to eat. Herssonios is a longer walk away (maybe 30 mins) and has supermarkets, pharmacies, and restaurants galore, even after the season ended. We found the walk downhill to the town, and back uphill to the village fine, even with 2 kids. Herssonios itself didn’t hold much charm for us, but we found a taxi to Agios Nikolas (delightful), Heraklion’s museum (more engaging for us than the Athens archeological museum), and Rethimno (lovely old town, laneway cafes, long stretch of beach) filled enough of our days. And with a heated pool to return to, no complaints.

We really enjoyed our stay in Thomais´resort. Thomais did everything to make us feel welcome and welcomed us with homemade cooking and wine. Located on the mountain top the distance to shopping and restaurants is several kilometers, but excellent taxi service solved this so we dropped our plans to rent a car.
