Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mirissa Beach

一个大庄园，环境非常别致优美，里面有椰林，芒果树，杨桃树……地段也非常棒，紧邻海边，服务非常热情，宾至如归，也非常个性化，因为去观鲸回来晚了，多给我们一间房子延迟退房。可惜在酒店呆的时间还不够多，没有足够时间享受这么美好的环境。非常推荐。

The place was lovely, right on the river front and absolutely peaceful. Its also very close to the beach and we would definitely recommend the place. Somehow the tuktuk price around the area were pretty outrageous, so if you have a rented or owned vehicle, it’ll make things a lot easier but that’s not on the host, they were absolutely amazing.

This house is excellent! Place, nature, beach, and all of things are very comfortable and nearby the house. When we were planning our trip we looked at photos of this house and thought that it is smaller and has small garden, BUT there is a big garden with hammock and beautiful lights outside, the house is very big. We’ve saw a lot of friendly black monkeys, peacocks, chipmunks and other animals - it’s awesome. When you planning to live in this house - you should have no doubts - it is modern, comfortable and friendly place with GREAT host Ravindra! He became our friend and helped in all things that we’ve asked. Thanks a lot, my friend, we’ll try to get back! Есть большой сад, до «плавательного» пляжа максимум 5 минут пешком, магазинчики рядом, все удобно, до Велигамы 10 минут на тук-туке, до Мириссы 20 минут на тук-туке. Рядом с виллой пляж для сёрфинга и куча прикольных мест, например Чики Манки. Хозяин Равиндра просто топовый. Если думаете об этой вилле - берите смело, она очень хорошая, в доме есть все необходимое. Рядом есть домик, где живут местные - они очень добрые и помогают по дому (убираются и ухаживают за садом). В саду есть гамак, а возможно, скоро появится бассейн, так говорил хозяин Равиндра. Прожили в ней месяц в восьмером - все было круто. Рекомендуем однозначно.

The villa is in a beautiful surroundings, overlooking a rice field. The villa is very spacious with swimming private pool. We thouroughly enjoyed out stay here. Christa was very helpful. The helper onsite is really very helpful, and responsive. Only negative I would say is it was far from attractions and main city. Beach is around 4 kms and getting a transport here is a challenge. Booking vehicles in advance to move around could help. The approach road is narrow around 100 mts from the main road.

One of our all-time favourite accomodations, from over 40 countries visited. What we loved: - falling asleep with the sound of waves, which was perfect (not too loud, not too low) - our mornings and sunsets on the terrace of the building - the location inside the forest, and on top of the cliffs - nature all around us, with nice fauna (varan, monkeys, peacocks, small birds) visiting us. Don’t worry, there is nothing dangerous, they avoid people - The access to the cliff which is just a couple of steps away from the villas. Very good place for sunsets and meditation after - The pool is really nice for relaxing swimming at the end of the day - Near 2 beaches : Jungle beach (amaaaazing place) and Unawatuna beach, also very nice - Small cozy restaurants just outside the villas - A lot of space inside, very comfortable beds & pillows - The host and personnel are top-notch. Hospitality at next level. It was my wife’s 25th birthday and they helped us make it memorable. Great experience!

Me and my girlfriend stayed here for three months. We had a wonderful time here. Dharme and his wife are very friendly. They tried their best to make it as comfortable as possible for us. We would definitely recommend this place.

We had a wonderful stay at O2 Villa. Jeewanthi was a wonderful host and did everything he could to make our stay more comfortable. He met our driver on the road to guide us to the property. It’s off the main road and tricky to find initially but it’s a blessing as the property is a peaceful oasis away from the noise of the roads and town. There is a train track running nearby but we barely heard it and it passes very quickly. Look both ways when crossing the tracks and the road. The bathroom is large and very clean with plenty of hot water - one of the best we’ve experienced since arriving in India a month ago. The air conditioning works perfectly and is very quiet. A necessity in Sri Lanka for us northerners. The wifi is the best we’ve had in a month. We only used the kitchen to prepare fruit and snacks and it was adequate for that. Fruit and water can be bought from a lovely lady on the main road 150 metres from the apartment. The beach is a ten minute walk across the tracks and main road and is almost deserted. There is a small beach bar with chairs when you arrive at the beach and for the price of a drink you can stay as long as you want. They like everyone else on the beach are offering surf lessons as well. When we return to Sri Lanka we will be sure to stay at O2 Villa.

A very perfect accommodation experience. This is the cleanest house we have ever stayed in. There is no dust anywhere visible to the naked eye or in any corner. The landlord, Jeewantha, is very warm and friendly. The house has all the facilities and kitchen utensils you need. It is within walking distance of the beach and there are many restaurants nearby. It is a perfect holiday choice

Nous avons passé un très bon moment chez Luca. La maison a tout ce dont vous avez besoin pour passer un excellent repos. Vous pourrez observer les quelques animaux qui se promènent librement dans le jardin. La piscine est un gros plus dans la chaleur du Sri Lanka. La maison est incroyablement propre et les gens qui y travaillent sont très gentils. Nimesh vous aidera avec toutes vos questions, vous pouvez le contacter à tout moment. Il nous a emmenés changer de l'argent, nous a montré où se trouvaient les meilleurs endroits pour dîner et a organisé toutes les excursions pour nous. Il s'est également occupé de notre voyage et est venu nous chercher à l'aéroport. Tout le long, nous avons pu profiter des merveilleux dîners préparés par Nirosha dont un excellent barbecue de fruits de mer. La maison est très bien placée : seulement à quelques pas de la plage et de tous les restaurants/boutiques. N’hésitez pas à réserver votre séjour au sein de cette maison, c’est un véritable petit paradis.

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié ces quelques jours chez Nilu. Jolie maison, joli jardin, Nilu et sa famille on été très accueillants. Idéalement située, à quelques minutes de kabalana beach dans un quartier légèrement en retrait de l’effervescence de la côte. Merci !!

Loved our stay at Villa Sepalika! The location is amazing - an oasis of calm and green with the odd peacock and monkey to add to the tropical holiday! The pool is outstanding and the lawn is great for games (if you can tear yourself away from the beautiful big verandah!). The staff were lovely - they made sure we had everything we needed and the cook was superb! Thank you for a lovely stay and we look forward to the next time!

We hadden een heel leuke tijd in Karin haar. Alles is perfect in orde en schoon! Leuk strand op wandelafstand en alles is gemakkelijk bereikbaar met de tuktuk driver. Sathish de house manager was heel vriendelijk en gemakkelijk bereikbaar bij vragen.

Such a beautiful place with peaceful waterfront location, we stayed with a big group of 29 adults and south point villa and south point ocean was able to accommodate all of us very comfortably. We had a great time swimming in the pools and the ocean, taking sunset walks on the beach. The staff are lovely and work tirelessly to meet our needs, we had a wonderful stay and are already looking forward to returning next year.

Such a wonderful experience for our first stop in Sri Lanka, we didn’t want to leave. Madusha (Chami’s brother) made us feel so welcome. Picking us from the airport, offering local knowledge and history, recommending tours, places to eat and experiences. The area is brilliant, we did day trips then came back feeling like we’d found the best base. There are plenty of hotels and resorts set up for tourists but If you want to feel at home in Sri Lanka stay here.

Great place and great value. Really easy to walk to the beach if not there are lots of Tuk Tuks you can get. Good place to learn to surf. Really peaceful balcony to sit on. Would highly recommend.

We’ve just come back from an amazing trip to Sri Lanka, and we stayed for 6 nights at Gaya’s wonderful home. We loved it; the location feels remote, but it’s only a 10min walk to the beach/restaurants etc. Every morning I’d wake up and have a coffee on the veranda, overlooking lush greenery, peacocks, cattle - not something you get in everyday life. The staff were very helpful, and the accommodation was comfortable, clean, and is a wonderful option if you’re looking for a self-catering home stay. A big thank you to Gaya for letting us stay, we hope to be back soon!

I had a very good stay at Jacky's place. The room was quite large with a full functioning kitchen and living room. The bathroom is large as well, hosting a convenient washing machine . The shower had excellent water pressure with an inline water Hester that you control for instant warmth water. The property is unique in that it has a full size 25m swimming pool with multiple lanes. Being a swimmer, this was a big factor in my stay. The location is a little remote and sits on top of mountain. There is supermarket less than 800m away, but may be a challenge for some walking up and down the mountain. Most of the restaurants and places you'll want to visit are a few km's away. Expect to use Uber regularly or rent a motorbike onsight from Jacky, which I did. Overall, I was pleased. The location fit my needs as I was visiting a friend who lived nearby. The location may or may not suit your needs. I found the value to be very good for the area. I would stay here again.

We just got back from almost 2 weeks at Awimbawei. It’s a great stay out of the “touristy” beachside stop in Ahngama but close enough that it’s a 5-7 min tuk to get into town. The villa is lovely and spacious and is surrounded with green lush tropical plants. The bathrooms and living spaces are also wonderfully and tastefully furnished with strong AC in the bedrooms for a comfortable nights sleep. We loved being able to watch the monkeys and wildlife in the areas surrounding the villa while having a swim in the pool or a read in the garden. Our kids loved the stay too and it’s indeed child friendly with really nice touches in the kids room with books and toys for them to read on rainy days. We loved the stay and hopefully it’ll be available to stay in future.

Všetko bolo v poriadku, Chamila je priateľsky milý hostiteľ ochotný vždy pomôcť, pomohol nám zariadiť výlet na veľryby aj krokodíly :-) Staral sa o nas vždy keď sme niečo potrebovali. Malý bazen na dvore je super len malo slnka na dvore spôsobuje, že voda nieje vždy teplá. Ďakujeme za krásny pobyt na Srí Lanke 🙂

We had the most wonderful family Christmas at Villa Olu. The villa exceeded our expectations - the photos don’t do it justice! It was the most perfect setting for relaxing, having fun, playing games and not to mention the incredible family meals prepared and cooked by Kumara and Nadi!Experiencing the delicious traditional Sri Lankan cuisine was a huge highlight. Kumara could not do enough to help us - book tuk tuks, arrange massages at the villa and arrange transport. The villa is incredibly peaceful yet only ten minutes from Galle where we enjoyed visiting shops, sites and cafes. We would not hesitate to stay at Villa Olu again, what a super family holiday!

This place was incredible. We loved our stay! The property itself was gorgeous and we had the best time relaxing by the pool. Jagath and Upul made the stay by cooking us delicious food and helping us with anything we needed. We will be planning another stay in the future!!

What a relaxing five day stay in such a beautiful villa. The animals, pool and ocean!! The staff were absolutely beautiful - generous with their time, attentive and exceeded all our expectations. They made our stay beyond enjoyable and comfortable. We were so spoiled and, of course, well fed!

Die Unterkunft liegt wunderschön im Grünen – ideal für alle, die Ruhe und Natur suchen. Jeden Morgen sahen wir Affen direkt an der Veranda, Vögel wie den sri-lankischen Specht, Kühe auf der Weide – traumhaft! Abends haben wir es geliebt, auf der Veranda zu sitzen und dem Zirpen zu lauschen. Der Pool war herrlich, die Aussicht einmalig. Dank der lieben Haushälterin Lila bekamen wir Kontakt zu einem zuverlässigen Tuk-Tuk-Fahrer, was super war – denn zu Fuß ist die Unterkunft schwer erreichbar. Einziger Kritikpunkt: Die Sauberkeit war aus europäischer Sicht etwas ausbaufähig, besonders beim Staub. Auch war die Küche nicht wirklich zum Kochen einladend. Täglich kamen Poolpflege und Haushaltshilfe – das war zwar hilfreich, aber nicht immer ideal für die Privatsphäre. Lässt sich aber alles gut absprechen. Insgesamt hat die Unterkunft unseren Erwartungen entsprochen. Wir haben uns sehr sicher und wohlgefühlt!
