Family-friendly holiday rentals in Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria

Apartment is nicely furnished and spread over two floors with two bathrooms. On the ground floor is a double bedroom and a small bedroom with a bed with the possibility to set up a bunk bed. The kitchen is sufficiently furnished. A washing machine is provided, Wi-Fi is not provided. The apartment is centrally located on a small side street. The train station is not far away. However, the train traffic is not disruptive. You can hear the occasional train announcements from the train station. Overall, the stay was pleasant. Communication with the host was quick and straightforward.

Beautiful and cozy house with large indoor and outdoor spaces and a beautiful view of the sea, reachable on foot. Simone and her family were kind and courteous, from the moment of the reception until the departure. Recommended.

Graziella and Antonio are very welcoming and responsive and made us feel like family. Graziella greeted us and gave us a thorough tour of the house and the grounds. The Villa is well equipped and spacious with a stunning view of the Strait of Messina and Sicily. The Villa is located minutes from the city of Reggio and easy access to other towns in the region. We had an amazing time and hope to return one day.

Very nice studio a few minutes from the center of Reggio Calabria, equipped with all comforts and elegantly furnished. Impeccable cleanliness. Suitable for both solo travelers and couples. The building is very quiet and reserved. The owner, Daniela, is very kind from the time of booking until check-out, providing useful directions. If I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

We stayed in Rocco’s apartment for a week and had a wonderful experience! Rocco was incredibly kind and helpful throughout our stay. The apartment was spacious and equipped with everything we needed. Although it could get a bit noisy on the street in the mornings, the amazing view and the great location more than made up for it! We will definitely come back to Scilla.

Luigi met us at check in. He did not speak English, but it worked. We had absolute privacy and the view from the balcony was breathtaking. We were greeted by birds every morning and a view to the sea. Unfortunately for us, many restaurants were closed for the season. However we were able to get into two with reservation. The apartment is located well next to the main piazza and parking in front of the building was easy. We stayed four nights with no regrets.

We loved everything about Antonio's apartment! Everything was clean, walkable to the downtown area, and well stocked with everything we needed. Antonio was very responsive with any questions we had and we highly recommend his apartment!! Thank you Antonio!!

Francesco is a great host. Present and thoughtful. The villa is simply a charm. Cleanliness, location, decor... everything exceptional! The view is also the distinctive element with wonderful views of the calanques and the Ionian that morning and evening awaits you just to be seen in the silence and peace that this place knows how to transmit to the end. The beautiful, panoramic pool immersed in a well-kept garden in every detail is a plus for those with children even if the Calabrian sea is in itself a natural pool and it is impossible to resist its wild beaches bathed by an unparalleled sea. Beautiful, well-kept and authentic place. Lovely garden and pool with beautiful and clean view. Actually 7 minutes from the beach by car. The owners were very welcoming and flexible , they also made us find groceries at home and gave us the vegetables from their garden and the fresh eggs from the chicken coop! We absolutely recommend the place! Nb: it's important to keep in mind that the other apartment that accommodates 5 people in the same property is just 5 meters from our rooms and the tables to eat in the garden a few meters from each other :so great for two families of friends looking to join for the holidays

My stay at the San Ferdinando residence was simply fantastic! The property is modern and well cared for, with all the necessary comforts to make your stay extremely pleasant. The rooms are spacious, clean, and tastefully furnished, which has helped create a welcoming and relaxing atmosphere. A special thank you goes to Marino, our host, who was extremely courteous and helpful from the first moment. Marino has provided us with valuable tips about the area and local attractions, allowing us to live an authentic and unforgettable experience. Your care in making our stay perfect is truly commendable. I highly recommend the San Ferdinando residence to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing and comfortable vacation, with the security of being welcomed by an exceptional host like Marino.

In all, Vittoria’s place was an idyllic home base for exploring eastern Calabria, but poor and confusing communication made us almost cancel our booking a week before our trip. We weren’t even sent the address until the day before arrival, but it was worth persevering, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Peace, quiet, and solitude are key factors for us when booking holiday accommodations and the listing was so vague, we had no idea until we actually arrived whether we would be sharing the space with other travellers. As it turned out, we were in a spacious masseria, surrounded by citrus groves in which we could sit and watch the stars at night. There were two other families staying in the same complex, but we rarely saw or heard them, though future guests could be faced with all-night partyers or noisy children playing tag among the bergamot trees. It’s a risk to consider. Our living space was roomy, easily sleeping four or five, with two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a dining/lounge area. The main, upstairs bedroom was extremely hot, but we asked for a fan, which combined with the downstairs air conditioning cooled things off enough. We cook a lot on holidays and the kitchen was adequate but lacking in basic equipment such as a cheese grater and wine glasses and absolutely no essentials such as salt, oil, or water are provided. There were a few eccentric niggles with the property – we never could figure out where to put our rubbish, for example – but nothing that prevented us from enjoying the glorious surroundings. The masseria is three minutes’ drive from the agriturismo that is run by the same owner. The agriturismo clearly hosts many more guests than the masseria, but we were there during the Covid-19 crisis and few others were to be seen. Organic meals are served there (25 Euros for a four-course meal) but the one night we booked a table got cancelled because the restaurant was closed on Monday. We were offered lemonade, fruit, coffee, and crostata upon arrival and departure, and I got the feeling that they would happily provide anything you asked for. The star attraction for us was the glorious swimming pool, beautifully set in an enclosed garden area with banana trees, lounge chairs, and a spectacular view. Again, perhaps because of the dates we were there or our non-Italian schedules, we had the pool to ourselves throughout most of our stay. This may not always be the case, as the bewildering instructions for the pool specify limits for swimming times and number of people allowed in the pool. Now that we know the details of the place and some of the mysteries are solved, we would be much more comfortable booking and staying there again and would recommend it to other travellers looking for a lovely and well-located place to stay in Calabria.

The apartment and the property are superb, very peaceful in the middle of the olive groves. The outdoor area and pool are very nice. Only 5min from the beach by car and close to various typical Calabrian villages. Antonio and his family was very accommodating. We strongly recommend!
