Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Mellieha Bay

We had a great stay! David was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made us feel right at home. The apartment was spotless and really well-equipped with everything we needed during our stay. The location was perfect — close to public transport, shops, and plenty of lovely cafés. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the area and would happily stay here again!

There is something magical about staying in the heart of Mdina!! And despite the impracticalities, we’d happily do it again!! This place is a real unique find!!!! We loved being able to walk around after the tourists had left and enjoy the magic of the place. It’s really ‘money can’t buy’ stuff. The property is exactly as described - not for you if you want luxury and all the modern conveniences - it’s quirky and a bit of an odd layout. It can also be a bit of a challenge with parking/traffic - we struggled one day and can’t imagine what it might be like in the height of summer. Would highly recommend coming up the back way to Greek’s Gate via Triq l-Għarreqin. I would say from 7am - 9pm it can be quite loud, but we were out and about so didn’t bother us. It may sound like we’re being negative, but we’re not… we just think this property deserves guests who appreciate it for what it is and don’t expect it to be something else. It was a pleasure to stay at Rowan's place. He has put a lot of effort into creating an authentic house of character stay on Gozo. Rowan was proactive in communication and provided all of the information that we needed to make our stay an exceptional experience. Rowan's place is nicely appointed, clean, and easy to access and to use. His instructions are accurate and very helpful. We had some additional need for information about the area unrelated specifically to renting his place and he provided us with in depth and very helpful information.

The house has an amazing atmosphere, especially the terrace, windows and swimming pool. The center looks better than in the pictures. The host was flexible about check-in and check-out times, which was a huge plus.

This place is absolutely stunning. So peaceful, both inside and out in the beautiful garden. Authentic & historic. The local village and area are very interesting to walk around - I recommend the Zebbug loop (if you don't mind a steep hill!) Very well stocked, even a bottle of prosecco was provided, beach towels, etc. Ana was very helpful, recommending local beaches and restaurants, and always responsive, kindly allowing me a late checkout on the last day. My one comment, as someone else has said, is it should be made clearer in the description that the place is all really one room, with no real separation between bedroom, kitchen and living room. This doesn't matter if you are 1 or 2, but may affect groups of 3 depending on their makeup, as there is no real privacy.

One of the best and most interesting places we’ve ever stayed! Mind was blown from the moment we walked in and exploring every corner of this huge property. Was the perfect home base to explore all of Malta during our 6 day stay. All amenities came in very good use and absolutely loved the layout. Highly highly recommend for a memorable stay!!

We had a lovely stay at this beautiful luxury rooftop apartment in Malta! The design and decor were modern, stylish, and very well thought out — it felt both high-end and welcoming from the moment we arrived. One of our absolute highlights was the rooftop pool. The views were stunning, especially during sunrise and sunset, and it was the perfect place to relax after exploring the island. The location was also convenient, making it easy to get around. We really appreciated the air conditioning during the hot days, although we do think it would be fair to include it in the rental price, especially considering the premium cost of the apartment. Overall, we truly enjoyed our stay and would recommend this apartment to others looking for a luxury experience in Malta!

We stayed in Matthews place as a stopover on it way to Gozo, I would have been very happy staying longer than the one night. We arrived at 11pm but check in was easy following the precise instructions sent to us. Everything we needed for a short stay was there, restaurants, cafes, beach etc were on the doorstep and I can't recommend the accommodation enough.

My partner and I had the best time at Sim's property. It is a beautiful flat, spacious and comfortable. Sim's recommendations were spot on and not like anything we had seen before - his level of detail in the information he sent before check in was unheard of. We are very happy to have stayed at Sim's flat and definitely recommend it!

We absolutely loved our stay at Pat’s apartment. There was everything we needed and the views were sublime. Great size for our family of 4 and a helpful stair gate permanently installed at the top of the stairs to the flat. Pat was great at coming back to us and making local recommendations. I will be returning, with a lot of good books!! Thank you Pat.

Lovely flat in a great location a short distance from the beach, good restaurants, Starbucks and a bus stop on the corner. Checkin and checkout was easy. Thanks Sarah for being a great host.

Great stay in this BnB. Really spacious, very clean, Randolph had spot on communication and we had no trouble checking in. He was accommodating and clear both before we arrived and after we left! Location is great, nice little snorkelling area in view of the apartment and a main sandy beach 5 minutes walk. Multiple restaurants if you want a bite to eat. Nothing negative to say at all. When we come back to Malta we will be staying here again!

Caroline was such a great host, she left us a folder full of contacts for food and things to do round Malta. Great location as there are restaurants and shops near by and even good transport links. Gadeira bay being 10mins away on the bus.

Very nice apartment, in the middle of a lively area. If you like to go out and party, while being nearby, this is the perfect place to stay. Plus, the place is perfectly equipped. Finally, our host was very responsive when we had trouble finding the place, and when we had questions about the listing or activities we were looking for. Thank you very much Jane!!! If we come back to Malta, we will know where to stay:-)

The apartment was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed, plus some lovely extras like fresh coffee and an ironing board. The washing machine’s 15-minute cycle was especially handy for a quick turnaround of clothes. The views from the apartment were extraordinary, both during the day and at night. We didn’t use any of the common areas of the apartment block and wouldn’t have used the pool, so we can’t comment on those. The apartment was ideal for our holiday. We had a car and spent our 10-day stay exploring Gozo and Malta with ease. We would happily stay again if the mattress is replaced—it was very, very uncomfortable. Aside from that it was a great stay. Thank you!

We appreciated the use of a washer but we only needed to use the dryer once as there was a clothes rack available and with the hot weather in Gozo the clothes dried in a half day in the house on the rack. Also there were some cooking supplies available and other supplies stocked when we came which made it so much easier when we walked in the door that we didnt have to rush out to buy shopping right away after a long flight. We had a couple of little repairs that had to be done such as plugs for kitchen sink and told Clayton we replaced us and he immediately refunded us the cost which was very nice of him.

We stayed in four properties during our trip to Malta & Gozo. This was by far the most professional and communicative host with the highest standard. The property has been cleverly thought through- from potato peelers and cheese graters to deckchairs- they are excellent quality. You are made to feel that you are valued and the host has not provided you with cheap utensils. The finish overall was amazing. It was well stocked with everything- indoor and pool towels. The tv is easy to use- we got Amazon Prime working easily. The pool is gorgeous and very peaceful. We felt safe as a family of four and found getting places using Bolt no problem.

Absolutely amazing stay! Ray and Rosie are wonderful hosts — so warm and attentive. The place is spotless, beautifully maintained, and truly feels like home. Every detail is thoughtfully done. Would love to come back!

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful appartment with amazing views. The location was excellent close to ferries, restaurants and places of interest. The hosts were exceptional and were always available to give advice, recommendations and arrange transport to and from the airport. Nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this wonderful appartment

We had a lovely stay here, the penthouse is fab! The roof terrance is a really good touch, a lovely pool / bbq and amazing views. As hosts both Daniel and Svetlana were super responsive and helpful. Always on hand to help out. Would recommend if you like your own space and enjoy a sea view. It’s a lovely walk into town where there are nice restaurants and ice creams and in the other direction there are several great swimming spots with two beach bars seeing food and drink. Would highly recommended :)
