Family-friendly holiday rentals in Mellieha Bay

Our expectations for Villa Bernadette were extremely high, and those expectations were thoroughly surpassed. Victor was extremely easy to deal with, providing timely and helpful instructions with a useful visit at the start of our trip. The area is quiet, not far from the beach and the views are stunning. As a big group, the privacy and space was excellent. Each room was spotless, with spacious communal areas that provided plenty of options. Especially good were the outside areas and the huge terrace and pool with all day sunshine and sweeping views. Overall - a fantastic stay at a brilliant price. I can't recommend Villa Bernadette enough, so much so that a second trip was discussed before the first ended!

Eine wunderschöne Unterkunft! Die Zimmer sind geräumig und sauber. Die Küche war sehr gut ausgestattet. Ein paar Lebensmittel für das erste Frühstück standen zu unserer Verfügung bereit. Der Balkon hat am Morgen schön Sonne und ist auch großzügig möbliert. Am Nachmittag ist dort angenehm Schatten. Er hat Blick auf den Pool und ist direkt daneben. Wenn Kinder Badespaß haben hört man das natürlich auch deutlich. Der Pool war sauber und sehr groß, zum Schwimmen gut geeignet. Viele Liegen vorhanden. Die Begrüßung von Antoniette war sehr herzlich, auch am späten Abend. Wir haben uns herzlich willkommen gefühlt. Herzlichen Dank für die tolle Zeit!

Great house! Spacious, beautiful, and equipped with everything a family could need. The kids especially enjoyed the pool, swimming every day! The location is fantastic. Just a five-minute drive away, there's a great beach with a restaurant where we had lunch several times. There’s also a pizzeria and a store with all the essentials just a few minutes away. Thank you, Joseph!

Stephanie was an excellent host. She sent useful information before we arrived and greeted us on arrival. There were one or two minor issues with plumbing that were sorted promptly and in a friendly manner. The place is really lovely especially the pool area. There were six of us but there is ample room for up to ten people . The Bolt taxi service is good but I would say a hire car is almost essential if, like us want to explore a lot of Malta. Mellieha is an excellent hub for water sports and the ferry to Gozo. Overall I think Citrine villa is a beautiful if a little faded gem.

Lewis was amazing, considerate and attentive. Communication was immaculate and super supportive he’s the best Airbnb host I have had, the place was just as amazing as the apartment itself, definitely worth the price and much more.

Nous avons séjourné dans la maison de Aaron fin avril pour une semaine de randonnées sur l’ile de Gozo. Aaron a été très aimable et arrangeant à notre arrivée. La maison est tres confortable, propre et conforme à la description. La piscine egalement est impeccable et bien que l’eau soit un peu fraiche en avril nous avons pu en profité sans problème. Au niveau des équipements il ne manque rien. La maison est située dans un village comportant de nombreux chantiers de construction il y a donc quelques nuisances sonores en journée mais cela reste tolérable d’autant que nous etions absent le plus souvent pour profiter de la beauté de l’ ́ile. Nous avions choisi de louer un voiture mais il est également possible de s’en passer grace au reseau de bus qui permet de rayonner sur l’ile. Un arret de bus se trouve d’ailleurs à deux pas de la maison. Nous recommandons vivement la maison d’Aaron et le remercions encore pour son acceuil, sa disponibilité et sa gentillesse.

Lovely relaxing house with lots of character. Steps to go down to the pool. Not many grocery shops close by, but not a problem if you have a car. Bolt and Wolt do a fine job at delivering food too. The host answered our questions and saw to our problems promptly.

We cannot fault our experience with Mark Anthony. He organised a very helpful taxi driver to pick us up from the airport who knew the property location well and came back for us in the middle of the night for our return flight. As for the property it was clean, well maintained and very good value for money considering the great location. I would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again.

Schon ab der Buchung war die Kommunikation mit Tina hervorragend – schnell, hilfsbereit und mit vielen nützlichen Tipps (z. B. Restaurantliste). Beim Öffnen der Balkontür hat uns der atemberaubende Blick auf Valletta sofort begeistert. Die Lage ist ideal: Fähren und Busse sind direkt gegenüber, Supermarkt, Restaurants und Bars in der Nähe. Vom Balkon hat man einen tollen Blick auf die Promenade von Sliema, und trotzdem ist es in der Wohnung ruhig – die Schlafzimmer liegen nach hinten. Wenn wir wieder nach Malta reisen, würden wir dieses Apartment sofort wieder buchen. Kleiner Hinweis: Für Malta braucht man einen Adapter für britische Steckdosen (Typ G).

Nous avons été très bien accueillis par Andrew. Le logement est spacieux, bien entretenu et bien équipé avec une très belle terrasse avec piscine et grand barbecue. Logement idéal pour un groupe d'amis ou une grande famille. Nous y avons passé une très bonne semaine. Une belle adresse à retenir !

Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet. Es war alles vorhanden, was wir gebraucht haben. Und auch noch viel mehr! Es gab Gewürze, Öl, Salz, Zucker, Kaffee.... so dass wir nicht alles fürs Frühstück neu kaufen mussten. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt! Die Klimaanlage haben wir nicht genutzt, so warm war es Ende Mai noch nicht. Bei Fragen kam immer sehr zeitnah eine nette Antwort von Pawlu. Vielen Dank dafür! In der Nähe sind einige kleine Geschäfte, wo man wochentags noch bis 22 Uhr einkaufen kann. Restaurants sind auch fußläufig erreichbar. Eine klare Empfehlung geht an die ZION Bar. Den schönen Garten haben wir leider erst nach dem leckeren Essen gesehen. Hier gibt es sogar eine kleine Tanzfläche! Am besten mit dem Bus fahren, ist aber auch zu Fuß machbar. Die Straße hoch zur Wohnung ist leider sehr steil, aber es wurde jeden Tag besser. 😆 Malta ist einfach traumhaft schön! 👍

Appartement très bien situé avec une vue sur le port très agréable. Station familiale loin des touristes. Très propre et extrêmement bien agencé avec tout le nécessaire. Je recommande à 100%. Très réactif le papa !

Robert (and his lovely dog Duke!) was an incredible and attentive host. He provided amenities (such as a taxi service from the airport; fruit, bread and water), and helpful directions and recommendations. His apartment was full of charm and felt homey. It was steps to the water, and had views of the Upper Barrakka gardens. I highly recommend Robert’s place, and hope to return soon!

Nous avons passé un excellent séjour chez Lucy. L’emplacement est idéal pour visiter les 3 cités, et à proximité du ferry pour se rendre à La Valette. La maison est typique maltaise, très charmante et la rue est joli et calme. Le toit terrasse est un plus, fort agréable pour profiter des soirées. Il est facile de se garer à proximité. Lucy est de plus une hôte très réactive et disponible pour répondre à toutes les questions. Lucy met a disposition un classeur avec toutes les recommandations nécessaires pour passer un excellent séjour : restaurants, plages, sites à visiter, etc. Des adaptateurs sont également disponibles dans son logement pour les prises européennes. Nous recommandons vivement Lucy et son logement pour un séjour sur Malte !

Wir können Ducan's Haus jedem empfehlen. Die Lage ist super, es ist ruhig, super schön eingerichtet und renoviert. Wir waren für 8 Tage dort aber wir wären für Wochen geblieben. Wenn wir wieder nach Gozo kommen, ist seine Unterkunft die erste, die wir buchen würden.

We really enjoyed our stay in Matthew & Elaine’s town house with our 11 month old daughter. Communication was friendly and fast and when we missed a baby chair Elaine came to bring it to us right away. It should be noted that there is a lot of construction going on, at both sides of the house, but it’s not on a all day every day basis so it didn’t bother us too much. The walk to the beach is beautiful and it’s also easy to walk to the town square with some bars. If you have a rental car the whole island is easily accessible. Last of all we really appreciated the ‘welcome package’ with some fresh produce. Thanks!

Absolutely recommended if you're looking for a peaceful and charming place to stay! We chose Gozo for our family trip (4 adults, 2 kids) because we wanted a quiet escape from the busy parts of Malta — and it was the perfect choice. The house is a beautiful traditional Gozo home in excellent condition. It had everything we needed to make our week-long stay comfortable and relaxing. Alexandra was a fantastic host — super friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The key handover and tour of the house went smoothly and made us feel right at home. If we return to Malta or Gozo, we would definitely stay here again!

This was our second stay at Marthese's place, and we just love it. Perfect for a quiet week of relaxation, always spotless and comfortable, and the smart TV is a great new addition if you want a quiet night in while you're there! Thanks Marthese!

host sempre molto disponibile e reattivo. la casa è come descritta e le foto corrispondono. situata in una zona residenziale e con un panorama mozzafiato. affittata per pochi giorni per un weekend tra amici ma sicuramente adatta a famiglie o gruppi.

Wir waren mit einer Gruppe von 14 Männern bei einem Junggesellenenabschied in der Villa. Es hat wirklich alles sehr gut geklappt. Die Aussicht ist atemberaubend! Zwei kleine Supermärkte ca. 2 min Fußweg die das Nötigste auf jeden Fall vor Ort haben. Eine 5 min Uber Fahrt brachte uns zum nächsten größeren Supermarkt, zu Fuß ca. 15 min. Zum Strand gelangt man in ca. 5 min zu Fuß, in die nächstgelegene, größere Stadt mit Restaurants sind es 15 min. Die Kommunikation war stets hervorragend, ein kleine Manko war lediglich, dass die Kurtaxe und die Gebühr für die Nutzung der Klimaanlage in bar bezahlt werden mussten. Wir hatten aber zum Glück noch etwas Bargeld da. Was ich auf gar keinen Fall bestätigen kann sind die vielen Kakerlaken oder die Nachbarn die sich beschweren. Wenn man darauf achtet, die Türen und Fenster nach sich zu schließen und mit der Lautstärke nicht übertreibt, hat man hier auch keine Probleme. Wir würden die Unterkunft auf jeden Fall weiterempfehlen sowie Malta an sich!

A truly fantastic home and an equally fantastic host in Anton! We, a family of 8, made up of children, parents and grandparents, have just had the most amazing stay in Anton’s beautiful home. The house is even better than the photos suggest, a real wow factor as you walk in. It comes nicely furnished with very comfortable beds and furniture, and the house is equipped extremely well with everything you could possibly need. Each room has its own character and charm, then you step outside into pool area and garden and the wow factor continues! We spent a lot of time here, it’s an amazing space and so private. The location in Xaghra is ideal with a few minutes stroll to the village square, a little gem filled with enough varied cafés, bars and small restaurants to keep all tastes satisfied. I must say Al Sale stood out. Then there’s Anton, who greeted and took time to show us around explaining how everything works. He’s the best host I’ve encountered, a friendly, kind and funny gentleman.

Un excellent séjour à Paola ! Nous avons passé un très bon moment dans cette maison bien équipée et fonctionnelle. Tout était propre, confortable et conforme à la description. La piscine est un vrai plus pour se détendre lors d’une journée off ou après une journée de visite. La localisation à Paola est idéale, la maison se trouve à proximité des arrêts de bus, ce qui permet de se déplacer facilement partout sur l’île. Nous avons également beaucoup apprécié la communication avec les hôtes, qui ont été très réactifs, disponibles et chaleureux tout au long du séjour. Nous recommandons vivement cette adresse pour découvrir Malte !

A lovely week! Alexandra was so helpful and accommodating! There is a lot of building work on Gozo and the traffic past the house did reflect this but the house was outstanding! The garage over the road was pretty noisy too! We walked a lot as the temperature was perfect for adventuring. The village Sqaure is so pretty at night and we ate at a lovely local restaurant which had the most wonderful vegetarian and fish options!! Xlendi is in walking distance and was a firm favourite along with the sand buggie tour!!! Alexandra and her team clearly care and love this house and put a lot of attention into making it a fabulous and quirky place to stay!!! Thank you for everything!
