Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Meghalaya

I traveled with my parents, husband and kids (4.5 and 3). The moment we entered the place, it felt like home. We were familiar with the locality as we had already lived in the city earlier (my parents for 34 years and me 25 years). We intended to spend a lot of time at the property and just soak in the air of Shillong, and that was possible because the home provided us with enough space and facilities we could ask for. Dad loved the early morning sunlight on the terrace and did his exercises there. Kids loved the space inside and outside and played their hearts out. Kitchen and washing machine made our lives so much easier. Marc's caretaker was available to help us out with whatever we needed. The property is very old (traditional Assam cottage), and hence requires a slightly better maintenance. There are tiny bits all over the place that need some attention, but I suppose that a renovation is already in plan. Thanks for helping me create new memories with my kids!

The location is great, everything you need is just a few steps away. The host is very responsive and the place has all the amenities.

Oak Cottage was a lovely stay! Clean, cozy, and tucked away in a peaceful spot yet close to the main attractions. The hosts were helpful, and the place felt warm and inviting — perfect for a relaxing getaway in Shillong.

Phiba, the host is super sweet. Responsible. We wanted to check-in before 3 hrs of check-in time and that too was last moment, but she made that possible. Without any extra fee. Not only Phiba, we met with her family , they all very welcoming. She has 4 beautiful babies! 3 dogs and one little cat! They were definitely a cherry on the cake! It's sad that we book last moment and we were only there for one day, the next days were already booked. But if we are coming back , we will definitely stay at hers! The place was great, had great rooms and a very friendly caretaker. Location was good, quiet and peaceful, however, we faced some inconvenience while leaving as our tourist vehicle wasn’t allowed on the road. Gurmeet was super friendly and kind, very responsive to our queries.

From the moment we opened the backdoor and saw the mountains of Shillong stretching out in all their beauty, we knew this trip was going to be special. Every morning started with the simple joy of cooking breakfast in the lovely kitchen, sipping coffee while gazing at those endless green hills. The living room became our cozy little corner to unwind. What made the stay even more memorable was Suzanne — warm, caring, and always attentive. She would check in daily to make sure everything was perfect, always with a smile and wonderful local tips that helped us discover the real Shillong beyond the tourist spots. A short walk down a peaceful alley took us straight to the main road, where we could easily hire taxis. Police Bazaar was just 15 minutes away, but honestly, we often felt no need to leave the house — the view itself was enough. I LOVE SHILLONG. This trip has left me with beautiful memories, and I know I’ll be back here again, staying at this very place

One of the best stays I've had in Shillong. The rooms look better than pics and is quite aesthetic. All the amenities listed are available. Brandon is very helpful and is always willing to assist whenever needed.

A gud deal at a reasonable price. Host was always responsive. Flexible check in and check out. Great location and walkable distance within 1.2km to wards lake and police bazaar. Room need better sound proofing. Overall a great stay.

The stay was absolutely amazing, the place was clean and exactly as shown in the photos on Airbnb. But the highlight of our experience was Catherine. She was incredibly kind, proactive, and always quick to respond. She truly took care of us like family and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. Anytime we reached out, she was right there to help. We couldn't have asked for a better host! Regards !!

The stay was comfortable, peaceful and at a perfect location. The rooms are cleaned and well maintained. The hosts responsiveness and communcation was top notch. Very hostile and professional. Highly recommended to anyone who is looking a safe, peaceful stay in the city.

Had a nice quiet stay at Vivi’s place. Host and staff were very accommodating. I loved the well appointed condo which was immaculately maintained - and looked forward to the early morning breakfast, overlooking a beautiful view from the balcony. Added bonus was the chance to observe the morning assembly at the Bengal Boys High School next door with the read out of the “News of the day” and “thought for the day” - was quietly transported back to my school days!

We absolutely loved staying in the third floor studio of Lon and Scandy's Longwood Residences. Located in the heart of Laitumkhra, yet away from the hustle bustle of the busy main road. The studio is exactly as is shown in the photos. Everything was neat and clean. The terrace is a big bonus. We appreciated the attention to little details, of sharing information timely, a basket of fresh breakfast ingredients left at the door every evening. This was our home away from home! Highly recommended this place for a wondeful and tranquil stay in Shillong!

It was a great stay. The kitchen had all needed amenities. The bed linens provided were clean. We felt right at home. Best thing was the location which was right at the center of Laitumkhrah (it was the primary reason we stayed at this Airbnb). Thank you for hosting us!

I travelled with my family and had booked the 2BHK. The stay was amazing, clean and comfortable. It had all necessary amenities and hosts were ready to provide anything additional if we asked. The hosts were quite friendly and treated like family. However they were a bit too involved and came in unannounced many times through the door that opened into the hall of the 2BHK. Apart from tha, we had some issue with booking cabs. Uber drivers were cancelling rides.
