Holiday rentals in Mauzens-et-Miremont

We spent a wonderfully restful and restorative week staying at Le Lapin Sur le Toit. The house is very old and characterful, and full of quirks. Extremely comfortable, both inside and outside, whatever the weather is doing; we had mostly very hot weather and were glad of the thick stone walls keeping the house nice and cool. The kitchen is well-equipped. We made use of local markets (the one in Rouffignac on Sunday morning is great for essentials, and there is a bigger one in St Cyprien) The small 8 à 8 Carrefour in Rouffignac has all the basics, and bigger supermarkets at Le Bugue and Montingac. The garden is beautiful and very private. We are not bird experts by any means, but saw and heard woodpeckers, cuckoos and hoopoes. We saw lizards, deer, bats and walked down to the field at the bottom of the garden to see the horses. Cat also came to inspect us on evening patrol. Overall, a beautiful, comfortable house in a peaceful, tranquil setting.

A perfect location in the Dordogne to explore. Anne’s handbook has all of the local attractions and restaurants listed. Pool area is the perfect place to unwind after a day out on the river or the surrounding countryside.

Alison’s and Andre’s jewel in beautiful Dordogne valley is the absolute winner when booking the perfect peaceful place to holiday in France. You can take a walk in nearby village or walk In nearby Forrest. Stargazing at the private pool, visit Limeuil to kayak the river. Or just take a deep breath in peaceful and relaxing nature while getting some tan after a swim in the pool. Alison and Andre are super friendly always happy to chat or check if you are ok. Super hosts. And not to forget the four legged Johnny the dog and two cats. Johnny will definitely steel your heart. If you are lucky like us, Alison and Andre will let you to take him for a walk. After pool, time with Jonny was our daughter second favourite thing!! There are so many great things to do or place to visit. So Looking back at our holiday photos, we were again lucky and we need to say - A bientot belle France and thank you Alison, Andre and Johnny for beautiful memories.

We had a very nice week in the cottage. We enjoyed a very peaceful location and the access and availability of the pool were perfect. Christian's welcome and recommendations allowed us to make the most of our week. We recommend the property for a very relaxing time.

It’s difficult to describe how special this place is! Situated on a beautiful property, the apartment is accessed through a gate into a courtyard and feels very private. (The place does share the courtyard with two other rental units, which were empty when we were there but it might have felt less private had they been occupied.) A converted barn, the apartment is cozy and unique with beautiful, thoughtful touches throughout. We enjoyed the wood burning fireplace and cooking in the well-appointed kitchen was a pleasure. Hosts are wonderful - warm and welcoming, and available and helpful without being intrusive. They even offered to bake us a savory pie on arrival and happily donated some butter to make our daughter’s birthday cake as the nearby shops were closed. We would love to come back one day and be able to swim and spend more time outdoors - as it was, our daughter loved exploring the yard and woods, filled with delightful surprises. A gem!

Warm welcome from the owners, with treats appreciated. Beautiful property in a beautiful setting, high up, with a beautiful view. Lots of well-maintained outdoor spaces, with pretty shadows. Very quiet place, but close to the Eyzies by car. The house is very clean, well-equipped and very pleasant to stay in. We had a rich stay with hikes and various visits in the area. And we were lucky enough to see a fox, hares and deer from the cottage. We would have stayed longer!
