Holiday rentals with a kayak in Marquette County

Beautiful cottage in a prime location, directly on the edge of Farmer Lake! The view of the sunrise each morning over the water was spectacular. Not only that, but the interior of the house was cozy and inviting, with far more amenities than your average cabin. Our hosts were quick and responsive to any questions we had, and they made the whole experience very enjoyable.

Was just as we expected it to be. Easy to get in and was nice for a weekend away.

Lynn’s home was the perfect mix of luxury and privacy. We attended our daughter’s NMU graduation and wanted a place to relax and celebrate with her. Lynn’s was immaculate. The bedrooms were comfy and made rest easy. The kitchen was well appointed and allowed us to cook together and fellowship. Definitely a place to return!

We had a great time staying at Nikkis , house is very spacious and perfect for a big family or a friends retreat , kids had a blast , lake is awesome planty of boats to fully enjoy it. Also Nikki helped us connect with a mechanic that could help of with a car emergency over a weekend. We will come back! 6/5 stars👍🏻

We had a bachelorette/ bachelor party and it was perfect. Super clean very secluded and very relaxing. Very clear directions and he was very accommodating and answered all our questions. 100% recommend!!!

Overall, I give Bob and Linda’s lodge 5/5. It was exactly what I was looking for: an authentic off-grid UP experience. It’s clean and homey, and Bob and Linda are top notch hosts, going out of their way to make your stay a good one. If you’re looking for a great off-grid experience, this is it. However, it may not be for everyone. For example, we visited in October, and we had to heat the lodge through fireplaces as there is no central heating. I personally enjoyed that but can imagine others not wanting to deal with it. The lodge has an open concept floor plan, and I recommend guests consider sleeping arrangements carefully. While there are a ton of beds, there are few doors, and most sleeping areas don’t have one. So it may not be the best if you have people going to bed or waking up at different times.

Heather was a good host. Super responsive and accommodating. Space was clean and nice. She is very personable. This was my first experience with a shared space and I quickly discovered this was not a good fit for me and ended up finding other accommodations. Also, there was a $30 additional guest fee per night so when my daughter decided to stay with me last minute it would have made this quite a pricy option to add her on.

The house was very nice and the location was amazing!! Jeff and Joyce were quick to respond and very helpful with anything we needed!! Joyce let us know that the Northern Lights were active and we got to experience an amazing show for our first time. Great stay, we highly recommend Joyce and the Dam House!!!

The cottage was great. Just as decribed...better than the pictures. We really enjoyed the sun porch. Peaceful and quite, we went for a fall color trip the colors were beautiful. This was just what we were looking for. We would definitely book agaim.

This was the first vacation we've taken with our two little ones, and Jeff & Angie's place couldn't have been better. Angie communicated with us before the trip, gave us tons of info to help ease us getting there and checking in, and were there when we pulled in. The cabins were so family friendly that we never questioned if our kids were safe, and each night ended with all the familes around the fire pit together while all the kids played. They had tons of options to borrow to enjoy the lake right there, and the cabins were stocked so well that all we had to bring was food. The location is great too for exploring the U.P. We will be booking again next time we head up north.

Jeff & Angie were great hosts...both stopped by to talk with us & asked us about our family & gave great suggestions on places to visit. Angie sent detailed texts with all the info we needed before we arrived and before we departed. The place had everything we needed & much more: including kayaks/SUP boards, paddle boats, fishing dock, campfire wood, charcoal grill, & much more and was so peaceful! I even bought a cute shirt from their merch selection to advertise and tell my friends about it!!

Really enjoyed the place. And the care and concern of Angie and Jeff was heartening.

We really appreciate you letting us stay, we couldn't have enjoyed are trip anymore. It was amazing to be able to come to a place we're we could destress for a a while while went went out and were little explorers. The cottage was beautiful and we would love to stay here again. We loved it so much we thought about moving up there in the future.

Great remote location for a secluded getaway! I would note that the cabin is winterized in May. The dock was out of the water, which made getting into the lake via canoe/kayak much more difficult. You might also notice some other "winter" things in May, like some downed trees, the railing to the porch was being worked on, etc. Overall, fantastic stay, within perfect driving distance to all the things we wanted to do! This also was one of the cleanest stays we've had to-date!

It's a great house for perfect vacation! We really enjoyed kayaking in private lake and firepit is great enough for large group. We definitely recommend this for friends abd families.

Beautiful place. We made use of fire pit and enjoyed the house, didn't go out on the lake but that is an option. Very quiet with great indoors and outdoors. Rebecca was responsive and helpful with our questions. Everything worked well. Recommend fall when leaves are changing - so beautiful with the lake, northern lights, and colorful trees. We got lucky and had a few crazy nights of Northern lights. I think the place is as advertised - takes a while to get there but it's very nice and we would stay again.

Shane was an extremely kind, respectful and accommodating host, and his property is beautiful! My girlfriend and I, along with our dog, enjoyed a quiet and peaceful getaway on the water- Shane’s home was beautiful, clean and exactly as described. We hiked, fished, swam, hung out on the deck and by the fire, and even enjoyed the sauna and battery-operated fishing boat. We absolutely recommend staying at Shane’s place at Bass Lake, and we look forward to making it back out again!

Laura has hosted our group for 3 years in a row. She goes out of her way to make sure our stay is comfortable. We’re very lucky to be hosted by Laura!

We stayed here with 4 of our friends and our two dogs. It was everything we hoped for and more! It was comfortable and immediately we felt right at home. It had that cozy up north cabin feel with all the practicality of a huge modern kitchen and plenty of comfortable sleeping arrangements! We iced fished on the lake and had a blast. My personal favorite was waking up and drinking my coffee in the sunroom by the patio fireplace . We would absolutely stay here again! It was well stocked and Kyla was quick to respond to any and all questions and concerns!

We had a great quick trip here. Good spot for us and our dogs. Great view and a nice house to stay at while we were visiting different waterfalls and hikes in the area. Would definitely come again

This is our second and just as wonderful as the first. Susan and Terry are as friendly as they come. Yooper hospitality at its best. The lodging was great. The lake is peaceful and the area is beautiful. I can’t say enough about how wonderful our visit was. We plan to go back again. Five stars!

Our stay on the lake was absolutely perfect! The peaceful setting, beautiful views, and cozy feel made it a memorable family getaway. The kids loved playing by the water, fishing and kayaking as well as roasting marshmallows at the fire pit. Everything was clean, very well-stocked, and just felt like home. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing, family-friendly escape!

5 Stars– Relaxing Spot with Great Extras We had a great time at this cabin! Super peaceful setting, and communication with the host was easy and clear from start to finish. We loved kayaking, making s’mores by the fire, and got totally hooked on the carpetball game—so fun. The place was clean and well-stocked. Only thing to note: the rules were a bit on the strict side, which made it feel a little less relaxed. Still, an awesome getaway overall!
