Castle holiday rentals in Maine-et-Loire

Stephanie is a wonderful host who saw to our every need, was very communicative and welcoming, and also went out of her way to give us recommendations for eating and sightseeing in the area (which were all spectacular!) The Chateau is truly a beautiful and unique place to stay. It is clear how much Stephanie and her family love the Chateau and the efforts they have taken to lovingly restore a historical place are well rewarded. If you are looking to stay in a beautiful, well maintained historic home, this is the place! Breakfast was wonderful, and there is also an adorable chateau cat named Mistipouf.

Thank you for the very nice stay. We stayed there for two nights, which we very much enjoyed. A really nice room, a great bathroom and a good kitchenette. Great, also the play opportunities for our three-year-old daughter in the large garden. We took a trip to Angers, which is not far away. We would highly recommend. What a great city!

My partner and I stayed for one night in the Marie Feuillant room at Château de Gizeux. This stay was very pleasant and relaxing because the setting is very quiet, surrounded by nature. Bedroom and bathroom: The room is very spacious (larger than pictured) and the cozy bed is very comfortable. The bathroom is also nice and bright. All that was missing was a shampoo (originally mentioned on the site) to make the experience perfect. Welcome: Our hostess, Stéphanie, immediately puts you at ease with the welcome aperitif by the fireplace, and was very available by email to answer our questions beforehand, especially about possible visits to nearby castles. Meal: The little plus, the candlelit dinner with main course/cheeses/drink for 42€/pers, as Stéphanie had suggested. The continental breakfast, meanwhile, we liked it too. Setting: The castle is very beautiful and, although a little cold in winter, we found it very friendly. Same for the beautiful gardens around the old buildings. Finally, we really enjoyed this stay thanks to Stéphanie's guided tour of the estate. We feel that she loves her heritage and knows how to make us travel back in time as the visit goes. Between anecdotes and explanations, Stéphanie was able to share her passion for this castle with us, mixing history (with a big H) and family history. In conclusion, whether you are in love with history, or want to have the unusual experience of sleeping in a castle, we recommend this stay without a problem!

This was a magical experience! Rather than just look from the outside, we actually slept in a chateaux furnished in period furniture. Although it is a ways from town and requires a car…. It was well equipped for cooking meals, lots of peaceful outdoor space and a beautiful setting. Felt like I’d stepped back in time (but the bathrooms were modern.). The owners met us, showed us around although their English is limited. They were warm and welcoming.

Wonderful stay in the beautiful King suite that Château de la Bainerie!! The castle life was at the rendezvous …. The size of the bedroom and bathroom , the brightness with three large bays , bedding …. Everything was spotless . As soon as you arrive, you feel at home ... at the castle!! Our host is very discreet and always there when you need to . I recommend it. For a very nice weekend experience ….

We stayed two nights. It went very well. The check-in time is flexible and despite the late check-in time, Branka waited for us in order to receive us. Branka is very attentive and always available and attentive. Breakfast is perfect. There's nothing missing. Salty, sweet with fresh produce. Nothing else to say.

We had a lovely stay at this authentic Chateau de la Bainerie. Check-in is self-contained and easy; many rooms are open to discover the castle. This one being quite huge the cost of maintenance is I imagine high, so we are happy to have been able to participate humbly with this unusual stay.

We stayed for one week with our family at Sanne's property. We absolutely loved it. We were so awe-inspired by the beauty of the surroundings and of course the chateau. We loved walking to the nearby river and enjoying the beauty in and surrounding the property. We found Sanne and Wilco the most friendly and welcoming hosts we have ever had through Airbnb. They were knowledgeable and happy to help with suggestions for traveling to nearby tourist sites or restaurants etc. The house was very clean. The kitchen is well equipped for cooking. The beds were comfortable and the rooms cosy. The house is very tastefully decorated throughout. We loved the wood burning stove and a large living space.

Our stay was wonderful. The place is usually run as a b&b and we had the luck of renting the whole place out. All the rooms were immaculately decorated and cleaned. We really loved every aspect of the stay. Mel and her family were welcoming and accommodating, they responded to our every need. Communication was also great. We had an amazing time cooking in the chef's kitchen that is fully equipped and eating in the dining room by the fire. A special place that is run with care and attention to detail.
