Lake house holiday rentals in Madoc

Everyone on the Island knows Finbar! The place was great. Clean, neat, and exactly as described. There is some privacy, and the lake, being Lake Ontario, is hit or miss in calmness; one day it might be super windy and wavy, and the next it could be super calm and placid. The island itself is beautiful. Peaceful and slow paced. There is limited stuff to do on thebl island, but with a couple of beaches and a clear sky, what else matter? 10/10 would stay again.

Had a great stay during a long weekend with my girlfriend. The place was clean, the view was gorgeous, and the public access point was great for people watching. Met the owners and they were very friendly too.

Amazing location and perfect for a family getaway. The place was clean and modern. Paddle boards were a lot of fun and close to great beaches. Would only suggest to include a small microwave.

A perfect spot! So happy we chose it. It had everything - peaceful location, comfortable surroundings & a lovely host. Couldn’t have asked for more! Highly recommend.

Miranda’s cottage was a great spot for our annual ATV trip. The cottage was very clean and as described. Having a sauna and the ability to swim in the lake was also nice. Look forward to returning to the cottage continuing.

Great location on the water. Loved sitting by the outdoor firepit and enjoying the peaceful evenings. Walkable to the Waupoos winery, and a few other local places. Basement was a bit chilly with the drop in temperature - had to crank up the thermostat, ended up sleeping upstairs. Overall an enjoyable experience and would recommend.

Overall we truly enjoyed our time. It was great for two couples. It can easily support one more couple more than that can be crowded. We got there and never need to reach out for any questions. Locations and view are beautiful. Picton downtown which is very charming is only 10 minutes away. The location is great but to get anywhere you will be driving. I would return to this location next time I am in that area.

I stayed at Cristal’s lovely cottage as a birthday trip with 6 friends. What I can say but, WOW. The place is in impeccable condition - clean, renovated and modern. It had everything we could hope for in a cottage including firewood, multiple boat options, indoor and outdoor games, lots of outdoor seating areas and direct access to the water complete with floating dock! The kitchen was fully stocked for all cooking needs and there were a lot of towels available for both inside and outside use which was really helpful. Christa was also great to communicate with, even though little contact was needed because everything was so easy. My friends and I give the place a resounding 10/10 and we would go back in a heartbeat!!

We loved our Thanksgiving stay at Christopher’s place. Christopher is a great host—very kind and communicative. The cottage is beautifully situated right on the lake in a peaceful and picturesque area, surrounded by stunning nature. You can take in the breathtaking views from the inside through the large windows, the deck, the surrounding grounds, the dock, or the nearby trails. The lakeside location was a calming and relaxing bonus for us. The cottage is bright, well-appointed, and equipped with everything you need to feel comfortable and entertained, including board games, books about the area, a fireplace, TV, internet, and, most importantly, access to beautiful nature trails and plenty of water equipment for exploring the lake. We absolutely fell in love with it and would love to return!

This was our second time staying at Steve’s place and we loved it ! He has everything ready - a big water jug, bug spray, fire pit (bring your own wood!) paddle boat and kayaks, and so much more. He even wrote us a little note which was so sweet. He responded very quickly with any questions we had. The lake is lovely for swimming and there is very good AC in the cottage if needed (we stayed during a record high heat wave so it was definitely appreciated) The space itself is very charming and cozy. The dock has lots of seating and a mini fridge so you can hang there for hours if you want! There’s a great bbq and deck for outdoor dinners. We will definitely be staying here again! Love it so much!

Heather was such an amazing host. Greeted us upon arrival and did a full tour of the house and the garden which was very detailed. Each time we reached out to her about something responded in a couple of minutes. Really nice house by the river, with a lovely pool and a hot tub. There is also propane fires at the water front to enjoy, and also a BBQ grill. Inside of the house is also amazing, well stocked with kitchen ware and linen, and very clean. Has three smart TVs inc-case you want to just stay inside. Our 4 year old daughter just loved the place..

We had a wonderful stay, Karen was an excellent host. I would recommend everyone to stay here. She even had her son help us start a fire one of the nights which was such a kind gesture.

The location is amazing, a short walk down the trail to the public beach was a great bonus. The lake is perfect for swimming! The place felt very homey, and the nostalgia of watching a movie on VHS is so much fun. Would recommend this place to everyone!

Catherine's home was lovely. The 20 acre farm was spacious with a beautiful dock on the lake. Inside, the house has been beautifully renovated while maintaining it's original farmhouse structure. We really enjoyed our time there!

Francis's 3 bedroom cottage on the lake/river is an excellent location to decompress, fish, canoe, kayak, mountain bike or walk the woods to see Ontario's wildlflowers. The cottage is tidy and it has everything one may need when cottaging. The cottage is a very short drive to the beautiful quaint Town of Hastings. We were able to stream the hockey game (Oilers vs Panthers) and we watch Netflix in the evening after cooking a late dinner on the campfire. There is a propane BBQ but we prefer to cook over a fire. Neighbours are quiet and friendly. If you are looking for a family vacation or an adult weekend getaway, I strongly recommend Francis's cottage- you will not be disappointed.

We had a lovely stay at this place. We went there to celebrate my birthday with my extended family. There were 7 adults and 1 child. Everyone had a great time. We felt right at home and everything was well laid out. Steve was responsive throughout the whole process. The icing on the cake was the small personalized touches like sign for Happy Birthday, personalized note etc. He also allowed early check in and late check out. The weather also cooperated for a day and we had a beautiful sunset. Thank you Steve and Dawn!!

Addie’s home is beautiful and provided a nice getaway for a relaxing vacation. Addie was always responsive and answered any questions we had within 10 minutes. Highly recommend staying here!

We really enjoyed our stay at The Bertrands’s place! It is a cozy cottage right by the lake. The hosts had provided a light weight single person kayak and lots of life jackets. The neighborhood was very peaceful and the cottage/lake faces the west which was perfect to watch sunset by the lake! The lake was also clean and swimmable. The cottage was dated but had all the amenities one would need. It also had a lot of interesting vintage items that were very impressive. The host was very responsive. We didn’t find an item that was listed on the listing but the host was kind enough to bring it for us! Overall a great experience! :)

This cottage is the perfect spot for a nice quiet get away with friends or family. Everyone in our group loved the place and we would definitely come back again!

Our family had a wonderful time. We had 4 children ranging from 1-7 and all had a great time. It's the perfect place to make memories. It's truly an escape from the city life. Beautiful sunrise views. The place was incredibly clean and very nicely renovated/decorated. The pool, hot tub and kayaks were the highlight. Our kids even went fishing! Farah was very prompt at replying and providing the information we needed. I would highly recommend staying at this cottage.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Beautiful views of the lake, very comfortable, very well equipped and great places to walk with the dogs. The master bedroom was amazing. It’s always difficult with 2 couples because the second bedrooms were a lot smaller but still very nice. We love the PEC area and this place was well located to visit wineries, golf courses and Sandbanks Park (40min). We highly recommend.

Tasha's home was the perfect weekend get away for me and my friends to celebrate my birthday. the home was spacious enough to host 8 adult guests. the bedrooms were spacious and having 4 bathrooms was definitely a bonus. we spent a lot of our time outside by the fire on the gorgeous waterfront and we also went for a walk and saw lots of wildlife like deer, chipmunks and a variety of birds. my friends and i said we would definitely book again!
