Cottage holiday rentals in Madison County

What a lovely home! And so nicely decorated and well laid out. There was plenty of room for our group of hikers. The location was perfect due to its proximity to the Appalachian Trail. My sister does a lot of cooking and the kitchen had just about everything we needed. We felt so at home that we will try to stay again if we get around to finishing the southern part of Shenandoah NP. Of course, the MAIN thing anyone needs while on vacation is a good night's sleep. The beds were SO comfortable and we slept very well. The big backyard was also a bonus. Definitely a 5 star stay.

Our stay was exceptional and exactly what we were looking for. The breathtaking view of the mountains in the background was truly stunning. The home felt peaceful, warm, and very clean—perfect for a relaxing getaway. It was also conveniently located close to the main road. We had everything we needed in this charming, well-equipped home. We’ll definitely be returning!

We loved Olivia’s Airbnb ! It was secluded and peaceful and it was beautiful inside with lots of space ! We loved the hot tub and outdoor area too !

We absolutely loved our stay! We were here for our elopement in Shenandoah National Park and this location was perfect. The AirBnb was clean, it had beautiful surroundings, and all of the amenities were great!! Colton gave us awesome local recommendations as well. We will definitely be back!

Awesome place with amazing view. The house is very nice, clean and beautifully decorated and supplied. Unfortunately the weekend we stayed, the weather was very uncooperative so we'll need to come back to partake in the outdoor amenities.

Amazing, immaculate property, peaceful setting, thoughtful hosts! The mountain cottage exceeded our expectations. The home looks exactly like the photos and has all of the amenities. No surprises, no builders grade junky stuff - granite countertops, new appliances, upgraded cabinetry with soft close drawers, large tiled shower with built in bench seat, lighted closets, working blinds, no step access into and through out the home. You walk in to find a welcome basket of water and snacks with a card from hosts. There are books for appliances if needed and a book that provides needed information and options for dining and recreation. Feels private! We had beautiful bird song in the mornings, saw a deer at the end of the driveway and many deer on the roads to the cottage. There is a fishing pond within a half mile and the North fork of the Shenandoah is close by. We enjoyed the peace, nature, cruising Skyline Drive and time with our family. Tracy was a fantastic host who made us right at home. We loved being back in the woods and had a relaxing stay. Definitely appreciated a host who had some really delicious restaurant recommendations. We hope to be back soon.

Great host, gorgeous views, and a quaint old home with history. Queen bed was very comfy and ac worked great! Host greeted us, answered any questions we had, provided local recommendations for our anniversary, and had even more amenities than we expected upon arrival. Would definitely come back if in the area again! My dogs loved the farm.

We enjoyed the house and the location. Half a mile from Graves Mountain lodge and great wineries nearby. We enjoyed using the gas grill for dinner and kitchen was well stocked. The fire pit was nice at night. Our daughter enjoyed the play set and the tree swing. Evelyn was very responsive and everything was as described.

overall the stay was wonderful only complaint was the hot water smelled like metal which I'm extremely sensitive too so it was a strugglebto get my kids bathed.

This was truly the best airbnb I’ve ever stayed in. It’s beautiful, has amazing views that we thought were even more beautiful than the pictures lead on, all of the bedrooms were spacious, stylish and offered very comfortable king sized beds besides the children’s room with the painted mountains - (there’s were cozy too just not king sized beds besides). The lot is huge and has enough space that’s not sloped to play games, etc. It had all of the amenities we wanted, very clean, huge windows throughout. We met our friends there who also have 2 young kids and we had no complaints about safety issues, etc, and our kids ranged from 6 months to 5 y/o. Outstanding space! If I’m in Luray again, we would stay there for sure!

Beautiful little cottage surrounded by abundant nature. Very close to Shenandoah national Park, as well as restaurants, across the street from local vineyard. There are a few other properties on the grounds, some of them occupied, but still with enough privacy and quiet. We enjoyed the fire pit in the evening and watched fireflies in the dark.

Location- Amazing! Cabin- Wonderful! Lodge, Restaurant and Farm- Perfect!! Pet friendly- 10 Stars!!!! The cabin is so secluded and nice. The food was sooo freaking delicious! We will be back!!

Nice rustic cabin in the Graves Mountain community. Fireplace! Porch rocking chairs! No TV! Didnt even know- all plesant suprises. Do yourself a favor disconnect and head here asap. Shenandoah hikes so close and convenient. You wont regret the good mountain vibes!

House was in a quiet neighborhood. Very clean and comfortable. We were there for an overnight trip, we attended a concert in Charlottesville which was only a little over 30 minutes away. We did not spend a lot of time at the house but thought it was lovely. Would recommend to family and friends visiting the area. Thanks for sharing!

This home was beautifully maintained, with really livable layout, warm and colorful decor, comfie furnishings and bed, warm blanket for porch sitting, sweet little table with mountain view off the bedroom. Lovely kitchen. Meditation/reading/yoga area, wonderful wide selection of books. Windows everywhere, three outside sitting areas, lots of natural light AND bright lights to read by. Coffee provided:). Big bathroom and shower. Really couldn't be better. Incredibly quiet at night. Loved the sweet cows in the pasture. Thank you Jim for being so welcoming!

This was our second stay here. Second time was just as good as the first. The fenced yard for the dog was what originally made us book here, but the beautiful location and well-appointed house will keep us coming back. This trip was the first time we were able to use the walk on access to Montpelier and that was a nice added bonus.

Beautiful setting with large lawn and river. The home is spacious ,clutter free and comfortable. Peaceful setting but just a 10-15 drive to Luray and 20 min to Shenandoah park entrance. It has a remote feeling but it is a convenient base to visit the caverns, hiking Shenandoah, or grabbing a bite in Luray. We had temps in low 70's with no humidity so we also enjoyed sitting on the porch and listening to the river. Follow host instructions about downloading maps offline the GPS was reliable, but once we figured it out it is really quite simple.

Thoroughly enjoyed the stay! The house was very clean, nicely decorated, and well stocked with plenty of cookware, games, books, and extra linens and blankets. The area was so beautiful, with rolling hills, mountain views, farm scenery, fragrant fresh air, and spectacular star views at night. My city dog absolutely loved getting to run and play in the well maintained large fenced in yard! Billy and Margit provided dog treats, yard toys, extra leash, water/food bowls, dog towels, pet proof trash lids, and sofa cover indicating that dogs are allowed on the sofa. My dog was so welcomed! Billy and Margit provided whole bean coffee that they freshly roasted, and a bean grinder. The coffee was amazing! Really enjoyed drinking the coffee in the mornings while listening to the chorus of birds chirping. Hiked at Whiteoak Canyon Falls, less than 20 minutes from Amy's place. The early check in and late check out times were another generous touch that was enjoyed. Would love to stay again!

This house is downright wonderful. Everything is beautiful, clean and cozy. It is all just as it should be. The host was perfect: accommodating, thoughtful, and friendly. The surroundings sublime, with peace oozing out of every square inch of the house and property. There is a creek behind the house that is the icing on the cake. Wow.

We had a wonderful stay at Majestic Meadows. Sandy & Chris were wonderful hosts and the property was a great home away from home, with a beautiful courtyard full of colorful birds, a private pool, and a ton of flowering plants. Close enough to town to not feel like you’re in the middle of nowhere, but far away enough to feel secluded. I wouldn’t hesitate to book here again. Highly recommend.
