better than we could have imagined! absolutely beautiful surroundings. The other cabins and main house are pretty close together physically but we never saw anyone-still felt private and the views/surroundings are so beautiful that you feel in your own world, an immersive place. We really liked the decor, much more soul than the average cabin you might find on airbnb, and clearly the hosts have an eye for art and history. There were two times we encountered dogs unexpectedly and without any owner in sight, but they were very friendly dogs and no trouble-just unexpected. This would be a fantastic intimate wedding location!! Had a wonderful time and will be returning in hotter months to use the absolutely beautiful pool area.. thanks for a lovely stay.

We had a relaxing stay with our doggies. it's a cute and cozy cottage. Kim was gracious and responsive. It's a lovely property. I slept in the downstairs bedroom with the doggies, which worked out because they couldn't climb the stairs and I'm scared of heights. I'm addition to the smart TV, the cottage is stocked with a great selection of movies.

Morgan was extremely responsive. We loved the cottage experience, esp since we also had full use of the outdoor space, inc around the main house. True serenity. My mom didn’t want to leave her room behind. Gordonsville is a great location and we barely made a dent in all the things we wanted to do. Drove to Lake Anna one day which wasn’t bad at all. Only con is that the price seemed similar to lakefront properties and/or full houses (I.e. full kitchen). Since it was neither, felt the price could have come down.

They were both great hosts, place was clean, better than described, surpassed my expectations.

This house is perfect for a small family looking to visit the area. The location was great for us as we have family nearby and normally have to stay over 30 mins away when we come. The house is beautifully decorated with cute farmhouse vibes to fit the area. We did have a few cleanliness concerns but we made the host aware and she was outstanding with her responsiveness and willingness to resolve any issues that were brought to her. I truly believe the issue was with the cleaning company not completing their job to the best of their ability but I trust that the host is going to take care of it for future guests. Overall we really enjoyed our stay. Chelsea is a wonderful host with great communication and we would love to stay here again when we return.

my daughter and I stayed for a night on mother's day weekend in the most beautiful spacious room with stunning views. Chirelle was super accommodating. They even allowed us to pick strawberries and eggs and feed their chickens and pet rabbits which my daughter enjoyed the most! My favorite part was the hot tub and the amount of things to do on this huge property. I recommend staying more than one night. it's a quick 30 min drive from Richmond, VA. we will definitely be back!

We had the most wonderful holiday weekend at the Silo House! First, the house itself was so comfortable and had everything you could need - including plenty of towels and kitchen supplies. Second, the swimming pond was magical - with all the frogs and newts swimming around, and perfect for an afternoon dip. The hiking trails and island were so beautiful and peaceful, the kayaks were such a nice amenity and we used them on the lake every day, and the farm store and game room were such a nice extra touch (including the treehouse for the kids and homemade ice cream sandwiches). Not to mention Ashleigh and Michael were so responsive and accommodating. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely beautiful. Fresh eggs when I arrived and an offer for more later. So friendly and attentive. They gave me exactly what I wanted. I am a private person, living by myself, and whenever they had to fix a fence or do something anywhere near the property, they would let me know. Yet, I know if I had been one of those people who wanted to be out and chatting, they would have welcomed me to come over and socialize. Very accommodating and helpful. My stay was a dream and I would HIGHLY recommend this place to anyone, especially someone with pets or kids. It was a dream.

My kids and I loved this homestead retreat in a beautiful and unique natural setting. The host family was very welcoming, and the farm animals made this a fun escape from city life. The room is quiet, the bed is comfortable, and every amenity you might need is covered thoughtfully.

We absolutely loved staying at this Airbnb. It is a working farm which was meant we got to visit with the goats, pigs, ducks, chickens & cows each day. We also got to walk down to their pier at Lake Anna and enjoy the beautiful scenery. We loved waking up to the farm each morning and looking around from the balcony. The nights were so clear we could see the stars perfectly. Ben gave us a tour of the property when we arrived, gave us some homemade salsa from their garden (very delicious!) and made us feel very welcome (even sent us alternate directions to the property when the road nearby was shut down due to an accident). We were able to host Thanksgiving with our local family very comfortably. Thank you, Ben & Nicole for being such great hosts! We definitely recommend this property!

After years of over scheduled vacations, we decided to select a laid back, play it by ear vacation. This may be the first vacation that’s we’ve had that we don’t feel like we need another week to recoup! We opted to stay home every other day and go somewhere every other day. The house was beautiful and the only thing we didn’t have was local TV which turned out to be the best thing for relaxing. Thank you David and Norma for opening your beautiful home to us!

A Home Away was such a great find for my family. The main floor alone was more than needed to accommodate 4 adults and 1 child. We loved having our own bathrooms off the bedrooms (water pressure was great), a big kitchen with all the supplies we needed, plus a deck for eating dinner with the view of the lake. We did need a lighter to get the grill lit and foil for over the grate, but once we bought one that stuff the grill got the job done for burgers and dogs. The location is further from some of the food/drink spots but it was worth it for the peace and lake access. The dock was perfect for fishing and we were able to utilize the kayaks. The listing didn’t mention life vests, but they were in a closet and plenty to choose from. The hill to the dock is steep so be ready for a leg workout! I’d certainly stay here again and recommend it to others.

Wonderful location, spacious and the animals are very cute and curious. I had an awesome weekend away with my fiancée for they’re birthday. Hope to be able to return for another getaway soon.

Jeff and Denise made us feel completely at home! They provided all the check-in details ahead of time and even accommodated an early arrival. The property is stunning, with a picturesque driveway lined by mature cedar trees. The cottage, situated by the pool and jacuzzi, is simply charming. Inside, it was beautifully decorated, and we were greeted with a bottle of wine and chocolates. Everything felt fresh and new, as the unit has been recently renovated, and the beds were incredibly comfortable with soft linens and plenty of pillows. The kitchen was impressively stocked, and they even left us filtered water in the fridge. We had a wonderful time and can’t wait to return! Although we were just a short drive from UVA where we were visiting our daughter, the peaceful surroundings made it feel like a true getaway.

We enjoyed our stay at the home and our son was fishing off the dock everyday for ours. Thank you for a great trip

Chet was one of the kindest hosts I’ve stayed at, he was super flexible at check in and his house is absolutely gorgeous. Would highly recommend his home to everyone!
