If you are nearby to Jorhat district, please do yourself a favour and give them a chance to host you and in exchange you will get lifetime memories. Uncle and Swapna aunty they both are so nice, full of love, very caring and willing to help you with any doubts you have. You will feel like at home and will have access to every corner of their house. They have huge space to accommodate family, friends and groups. Swapna aunty can win anyone with her homely cooked finger licking foods. She is an amazing cook and even better host. Place, Food, Host all are to die for.

Bononi is a little away from the hustle and bustle of Jorhat town and all the better for it. This charming little resort that looks like something out of a home&gardening magazine is run by the Goswamis, an amicable and helpful retired couple who have opened their house to weary travellers. It is 30 minutes away from the Majuli ferry, 1.5 hours away from Shivsagar, 15 minutes away from the railway station, and a 40 minutes drive to the Jorhat airport. Mrs. Goswami personally spoke to us and suggested a most excellent driver cum guide for us (Mr. Prankrishna Bora), and had excellent local recommendations for us. We were particularly touched by the Goswamis personally bringing kheer and laddu to our room on Diwali night. The staff were attentive and always helpful, the meals were delicious and healthy. We enjoyed walking around the property and looking at the neatly tagged local flora. We heartily recommend this place to everyone travelling to Jorhat.
