Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Kvaløya

it's quite far from the city ( 15 minutes by taxi ) i tried to call uber at 3pm and i could't get one. Tom said i could call taxi ( or book through website ) , which i haven't tried. there's a bus stop nearby, but you must go downhill from the apartmen. if you bring many lugagges, i think taxi is best. that's the downside. but the apartmen itself, loveeee it. The view facing tromso ( from 2 of the 3 bedrooms, and from living room ) is superb. so, no regrets. really enjoyed our stay here.

This house offers an extraordinary view of the sea and the Northern Lights on the beautiful island of Sommarøy. The decor is impeccable, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere, especially with the warm fireplace that adds to the charm. The house is fully equipped with everything needed for a wonderful stay, and it is conveniently located close to Tromsø and the ferry to Senja. Runne was an excellent host, always attentive and even gave us Northern Lights alerts, which made our experience even more special. A perfect choice for anyone visiting Sommarøy!

das Haus besticht durch die schöne Lage direkt am Meer, wir konnten direkt von der Terrasse aus Nordlichter beobachten. der Wohnraum lädt für gemütliche Stunden am Feuer ein. im Nordic Hotel 500m zu Fuss gab es ein super Frühstücks Buffet. wir können eine Aufenthalt hier also wärmstens empfehlen, es fehlt an nichts!

We wanted somewhere comfortable, warm with amazing views across a fjord. This house was perfect. We enjoyed watching the landscape change with the weather. We saw fantastic Northern Lights on the two clear nights from inside the house, but had to go outside as they were all over the sky. A good place for photography. The house is extremely well equipped and has everything you need, including snow shoes which enabled us to go on two walks in the deep snow. The log burner was fantastic with plenty of logs and the WiFi was great. Anne was an amazing host keeping in touch and updating us on a road closure due to an avalanche risk. We would definitely stay here again.

Merci de nous avoir accueillis, merci pour votre gentillesse, merci pour ce que vous faites dans le programme d'aide aux enfants, merci de nous avoir aidés avec le sauna et de nous avoir encouragés à nous baigner en sortant : une expérience très bénéfique pour notre calme intérieur. Les animaux sont vraiment un plus ! Merci à Tinka pour sa gentillesse, sa douceur et sa joie avec les enfants ! Merci au chef pour les dîners et petits déjeuners d'une qualité exceptionnelle ! au passage votre histoire commune est si belle ! et merci de s'appliquer à utiliser des produits frais et réellement locaux (viandes de la ferme ou de chasse alentours, poisson pêché dans le fjord, baies sauvages et tout le reste cultivé sur place, pain maison excellent).... Bref ! à bientôt !

Un séjour parfait ! La maison était bien équipée, propre et très cocooning. Line et Kim ont été de très bons hôtes : sympathiques, toujours de bon conseils et plein d’attention. L’emplacement est parfait pour profiter du calme et de la nature tout en restant à proximité de Tromsø pour des activités plus citadines. Merci pour tout ! 😊

Ce logement est placé idéalement avec un vue exceptionnelle depuis le balcon, on a eut la chance d'apercevoir des aurores boréales ! Cette cabane est parfaite pour 2 avec tous les équipements nécessaires au séjour. Les instructions de Hennes étaient claires et simples. Je recommande !

We were 8 people staying in Heidi's house for a week, focused on active spending of time (skiing, skitouring, hiking, ...). It was a great time - thank you for that! The good: 1. The house is very spacious, very comfortable with 8 people. 2. The living room is just the best 3. The location of the house is very good, close to city and airport yet in nature. 4. Heidi was super responsive and kind There is some room for improvement: with this price point I would expect the kitchen equipment to be more complete (e.g., we had the feeling that there is not enough knives and they are blunt, pans are cheap and scratched, cork stuff to put hot pots on top missing...), the fireplace came without the fire iron - weird, there were no matches just an not working lighter... Also, the heating system in the house seems to be a bit insufficient: we were using the fireplace all the time - would be cool if wood was supplied. But all this can be improved. All in all we love the satay!

Het is een heel fijn, mooi, schoon en ruim huisje. Perfect gelegen. Niet te ver van de stad. Het heeft een erg mooi uitzicht op de fjord. Daarnaast zijn de hosts erg vriendelijk, behulpzaam en reageren ze snel. Zeker een huisje wat aan te raden. Mede door het uiterlijk, de ruimte, de omgeving en de hosts. Je krijgt echt waar voor je geld.

Excellent house and host family, great nature and fine village, we enjoyed watching the different kind of birds.

We had an incredible stay here in Tromso. The location is amazing with stunning scenery in every direction. We were pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful walking path along the ocean just steps from the Airbnb. Bjorn was very response, answering all of our questions and providing local recommendations. The apartment was super clean, cozy and the bed was very comfortable. I highly recommend staying here.

The house and view was great! Jens was easy to communicate with, unfortunately we never met him in person. Good location near a lot of skimountaineering possibilities, which was the reason we came to Norway. The driveway to the house can be tricky and icy in winter! We had a 4wd with spikes and we barely made it up and down a few days. One thing that was missing was the wood for the fireplace we had to buy some ourselves. We rent 4 houses in Norway so far and we always got wood provided for free :) It's just one bathroom and one separate toilet for the whole house, which is not much at all, for us it worked (we were 9) but have that in mind if you wanna go there. Highly recommended place in general!

Stunning views and location, and so cozy. Highlights are the jacuzzi, sauna, access to take a dip in the fjord, the fireplace in the living room, the comfy beds, and fully kitted out kitchen with a great coffee machine. Host was very nice and always responsive. Highly recommend!

Karsje’s place is just amazing in one word. The place is so cozy offering amazing views of Tromso. The space was perfect for 5 of us including our 5 year old son. The house had a well structured instruction manual so that we didn’t have to bother the host a lot, but still they were very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of utensils so that you could cook without any hassle. There is a car parking available and also the bus stop is just a 10 minutes walk from the house. Just keep in mind that the house in a quite neighbourhood a bit away from the city, so you will have to travel a bit to find restaurants and supermarkets ( 10 minutes with a car or 15-20 minutes with bus). We enjoyed the stay a lot and would recommend it to anyone who visits Tromso.

We had a lovely stay here. The flat was clean, tidy and nicely decorated. There are two nearby bus stops that easily get you into town and large supermarkets nearby with everything you could needed. The heated flooring in the porch and bathroom was lovely. We were actually too warm over night despite the snow! So very impressed with the heating. The host sent clear instructions and helpful details. Overall a wonderful stay, would definitely recommend here.

Linda's place was absolutely beautiful and we really enjoyed our stay. I wished I could have spent more time in this lovely place! We even enjoyed making dinners and relaxing with the view. Both our hosts were exceptional people and we really enjoyed meeting them! I would highly recommend this place to anyone wanting relaxation, peace and still near all the amenities! Thank you again for your hospitality and graciousness!

Wir haben eine wunderbare Zeit in Ingrids Haus verbracht und uns wie zu Hause gefühlt. Die Wohnung ist sehr wohnlich und gemütlich eingerichtet und liegt an einer super Lage in Tromsø. Ingrid war sehr hilfsbereit und hat uns viele gute Tipps über die Gegend gegeben. Die Ausstattung ist wie beschrieben, es ist alles da, was man sich wünscht. Herzlichen Dank, Ingrid, wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Das Haus ist wirklich toll und sieht genau wie auf den Fotos aus, die Lage ist mega und obwohl ich alleine eine Woche dort verbracht habe, kann man dort gut mit 2-4 Personen (für 5+6 gibt es dann nur noch Hochbetten und für 7+8 ein abgetrenntes Bett im großen Schlafzimmer) bleiben. Es ist ruhig, man hat einen schönen Ausblick aufs Wasser, alles funktioniert soweit (außer vieler kaputter Deckenleuchten) und man kann von dort aus viele Unternehmungen starten (z.B. Hundeschlittenfahren nur 10min entfernt und nach Tromsø sind es auch nur 20min). Leider wurde die Zufahrt nicht regelmäßig geräumt, trotz täglichen Schneefalls lediglich zweimal auf Nachfrage. Selbst mit einem Allrad-SUV benötigt es also etwas Erfahrung, um den Berg wieder raufzukommen. Zudem sind ein Großteil der Töpfe in der Küche nicht für den Induktionsherd geeignet, was das Kochen stark einschränkt. Wenn man dies weiß, kann man besser planen :)

Die Kvalöya Lodge ist eine der schönsten Unterkünfte, die wir je hatten und Ketil der netteste und fürsorglichste Gastgeber, den man sich vorstellen kann. Wir haben besonders die Aussicht auf den Fjord, das abendliche Kaminfeuer, die Nordlichter und Ketils Tipps (Husky Tour mit Active Tromsö, Rentierherde (sie mögen übrigens Möhren), Sommaröy, Eidel Handel (toller Supermarkt für Selbstversorger), Söstrene Kafé in Tromsvik) sehr genossen. Wir hatten zum Schluss sehr viel Schnee - die Landstraße wird zum Glück rund um die Uhr gut geräumt. Schneeschuhe und Spikes stehen den Gästen zur Verfügung.

Our stay with Odd-Geir was truly fantastic! The house was cozy and made us feel like we were right in the heart of the Arctic. We enjoyed the grill house and the sauna—both added a special touch to our experience. Odd-Geir lent us his car during our stay, which was incredibly helpful. One of the highlights was going fishing with him on his boat—an unforgettable adventure! He’s a genuine host who absolutely enhanced our experience in Tromvik. Highly recommended!

Terrific base in Tromso. It's in a quiet neighborhood, which I personally prefer much more than living in the city center. The house is quite large and very well furnished, and feels very homey and warm. Loved the open plan kitchen and living room where we could prepare meals, relax, and keep an eye out from the balcony windows for signs of an aurora borealis. Hope to have a chance to come back in the future :)

This house was absolutely amazing in every way. Very clean and extremely comfortable. We felt like home from the first minute. Ingvar is such a friendly host and communication with him was easy. You can feel that he normally lives there, the place is so cosy. We also loved the hot tub! Since it is outside of the city the sky is really dark and we could see the northern lights from our porch on three days in a row! The kitchen is perfectly well equippec and we cooked most of our meals there. We would definitively return to Ingvars house.

Helt nydelig sted. Mye finere enn på bildene! Stort hus med god plass og svære soverom. Fantastisk utsikt mot havet og fin brygge å bade og fiske fra. Her vil vi komme tilbake!
