Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Kalkaska County

Sarah is so kind to offer late checkout, which helps us a lot due to the late arrival from a car accident. The place is so nice and good view and access to the lakeside, we had a good morning time. And the kids enjoyed a lot the different kinds of toys. It’s a place I would be recommended to my friends.

The house was beautiful and perfect for our group. Convenient location for a day in traverse city but was a quiet and peaceful retreat to come back to. Host was very responsive and helpful! We would definitely consider coming back if we visit this area again.

The house was very well furnished, yard was perfect for a nightly bonfire with friends and family. Close enough to town where you could easily get groceries, fuel, or simple go out to eat with no worry about it being a long drive. The house was located perfectly around multiple trailheads for ORV riding (within 20 mins). The only thing that I can say that was a downside to the rental was the amount of kitchenware. For a cabin that sleeps 10, there were limited plates, bowls, mixing bowls, and utensils.

Perfect for families with young kids. Our kids enjoyed playing on the swing set and in the sandbox! When it got late they enjoyed playing with the toys the Airbnb had provided. Great distance to the lakes as well for anyone who enjoys fishing or hiking! Would come back again!

Home was well stocked with all the necessities and supplies! We enjoyed a relaxing long weekend on the lake and evenings by the fire. The space was accommodating for 6, 2 adults and 4 teenagers.

This is the second time I’ve stayed here and I enjoyed this visit as much as the first. Extremely friendly hosts, beautiful surroundings, quiet and peaceful. Exactly what I was looking for. I will stay again for sure.

It was a beautiful setting. Attached to the winery but on the back side so we had privacy too.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed staying at Angela’s property. So many beautiful plants and everything was so clean and well maintained outside. A real oasis. The room was very clean and the linens smelled so good. I am a germaphobe and I never felt uncomfortable staying there. It was near so many attractions while also being very private and peaceful —we spent every evening sitting on the beach just taking it all in. Can’t recommend enough!

Katy’s place was extremely clean and presented very nicely! The bed was super comfortable and the accommodations were overall very nice! Katy’s texts were always informative and she responded quickly which I appreciated! I came for the Bayshore Marathon and the location was very convenient and you could walk to packet pickup. Restaurants and shops are close by. Downtown Traverse City is a short drive and we didn’t have a problem finding parking. Overall , my husband and I enjoyed Katy’s place and would stay there again next time we are in Traverse City!

My partner and I’s stay at Jeffrey and Holly’s suite was outstanding. The space felt incredibly homely, with cozy decor and thoughtful touches that made us feel right at home. It was spotless and well-equipped with snacks, coffee, beach amenities, you name it - and we loved using their kayaks for exploring Silver Lake. They were friendly and provided smooth check-in instructions. The price for the area far beats any hotel we could have booked considering how comfortable, clean, and private the unit was. As other reviews said, mechanical noises and footsteps can be heard, but this did not bother us at all. We loved this unit so much, we will probably check the availability for our next trip to TC. This was hands down the best AirBNB we’ve ever stayed at. Highly recommend!

The Northern Nest is everything you need as a dandy place to hang your hat while exploring or visiting in Traverse City. Very comfortable furnishings, and the absolute bonus of mattresses that don't scream to be replaced! Essentially, the first BNB bed that I have found to be comfortable! Everything is clean and welcoming, and Morgan responded rapidly to any inquiries.

Nice space, beautiful yard with fire pit around 40 mins away from traverse city. It was right next to a winery which was amazing and the place itself was cozy and peaceful. Mary left a treat for us when we got in which was really sweet. I recommend this place!

This was a great find for us. Right across from a dog park, right near downtown, kitty corner from Tilley's Party store, next to the Dairy Lodge soft serve place, easy to walk or drive downtown, across the street from one of the oldest taverns in the state, parking for one vehicle onsite. The space itself is compact but more than adequate, compatible to a hotel one bedroom suite with full size kitchen. Karla is a good communicator and easy going. the place was clean and ready to go. Super comfy bed and great shower.

It was better than expected. The place was clean, amenities were thoughtful. Everything we needed was there. The host definitely had the guests best interest in mind. . Very pleased. 5 star host for sure.

The host are great and friendly, provided clear instructions and proactive communication. The unit is clean and comfortable with a great view. We had a thunderstorm roll in one night and saw some amazing lightning over Lake Michigan. Shanty Creek has some fantastic golf courses and amentienes. Had some delicious food in local spots in Bellaire and Mancelona. 30 min drive to Traverse City with tons of local lakes and parks nearby, can't beat the location. Would for sure look to book this place again.

Beautiful accommodations. K.C. was a fantastic host and went above and beyond to accommodate us and made sure that we had a wonderful stay. Everything was perfect and we will definitely be back and recommend to our friends and family.

Kara was very responsive. The air conditioning was not working but they had someone out and it was fixed the same day. It was not as close to downtown as I would have liked but that was my fault for not completely checking out the location. Fantastic shower. Lots of room and super close to the bike trails. And gorgeous view of the water.

Jesse was a great host and we enjoyed staying at their place! We appreciated the private beach to play at and the pool was well maintained. There were plenty of food and entertainment options that Jesse recommended in their binder, and all were fantastic choices. The views were amazing from the living room/patio, and it felt very private. We couldn’t see any other guest and did not hear neighbors. It was very peaceful being on site and we could definitely see about renting the place again in the future! Jesse was a great host, communicated early and often, and made sure our stay was a pleasant one. Overall, great experience and thank you for letting us stay at your lovely home!

Beautiful studio apartments, perfect for our needs. ( couple with dog). Stayed here to be close to the Bayshore Marathon ( walking distance to the Start & Expo) but it is close to the Tart trail too and many options for food around. The bed is comfy and the kitchen has everything to make breakfast and cook small meals. Definitely will be back!

So glad we stayed here. Always so easy and pet friendly which is exactly what we need and so few offer. Kat and skip are always great have stayed multiple times in different locations. Would highly recommend.
