Family-friendly holiday rentals in Kalathas

My friend and I stayed at the accommodation for 5 days and were very satisfied with our stay. The apartment is on the ground floor of a beautiful modern house. The apartment was very well equipped, there was nothing missing. The beautiful terrace with whirlpool is worth highlighting. The location is great. It is about 15 minutes by car to the center of Chania. Several beaches are within walking distance. The house itself is in a quiet location. It offers a good starting point for exploring Crete. Katerina and her husband are great hosts. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fresh Greek salad, oranges, and wine. A few days later, we received fresh vegetables from the garden. Katerina was always available and very friendly. We felt very comfortable. Overall, we would recommend the accommodation! 5/5 stars!

It was super nice here. We were warmly welcomed and communication went smoothly. The place is as pictured. You're a bit up the mountain, which is super nice because it's much quieter there. The city and the beach are within walking distance. We were very satisfied.

Just back from 10 amazing days at Casa del Mar - an oasis of peace and quiet, from wherever you're coming from. The house sits atop a hill, with the most wonderful views across the sea to an island and the rest of the Cretan mainland. That view was the backdrop to many meals, family conversations, and fun-filled evenings. The house is large, with plenty of room for the 8 of us who stayed there. Great facilities throughout, with AC, 4 clean bathrooms, and two kitchens. We used the outdoor grill one evening to make BBQ and it worked well (charcoal). The infinity pool was another meeting place throughout the week. Deep, clean, and with that same incredible view, we spent a LOT of time in it. The family also enjoyed a very unique aspect to this house - direct access to the sea from the path that winds down from the house. We spent hours snorkeling here, up and down the coast, and saw a large number of fish and other sea life. Overall, an oasis of calm. Run, don't walk!

Our stay in Chania was wonderful. The apartment is very spacious and the outdoor areas are beautiful. Ioanna was very accessible and friendly.

Great stay, great location, great views. Very close to many bars and restaurants. Not too noisy at night. The only slightly negative aspect was the shower. Basically made the entire floor flooded. Overall, i would recommend the place and would definitely return.

Hidden gem! Loved this home, literally two minute walk to Golden Beach. Katerina is so sweet (she met us in-person, had local restaurant recommendations, and even provided a bottle of wine). The home was perfect for our group of 6 (great value for the money, too). Would 100% come again!

We had a wonderful stay at Villa Kedria! Along with the amazing view of Chania and Souda, the house was incredibly beautiful, clean, and provided everything we needed for our stay in Chania. The hosts were extremely hospitable and responded to every question and request promptly. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was an extension of their home. They provided all of the necessary baby gear and essentials for our little one, who also had a great time enjoying the pool. We’ve never had more caring and responsive hosts. They gave us so many travel tips and food recommendations that made our stay here in Chania one of our most memorable vacations. HIGHLY recommend staying here!

A lovely, luxury appartment near the beach and about 30 minutes' walk from the old town of Chania. A well-equipped, clean and beautiful appartment, but above all the warm and friendly hostess Anastasia. She guided us around the area, brought local delicacies, stocked the fridge with food and even drove us to the grocery store with her car. We really enjoyed our stay at the appartment and can wholeheartedly recommend it to others. You certainly wont't be disapointed!

Wonderful Experience at the Villa Elias! Our stay at the villa was perfect. The sea view was breathtaking, especially during sunset – a true sense of calm, quiet, and complete privacy. Choosing this villa was an excellent decision, especially because of the heated pool, which the kids absolutely loved. They enjoyed both swimming and playing in the spacious garden. The villa is well-equipped, with many useful items that made our stay very comfortable, including an air pump for pool toys. The location is also great – close to shops, supermarkets, and pharmacies. Cannot overstate what a great experience this was, thanks to the atmosphere of the place and to Giannis's kind and attentive hosting. Beautiful accommodation on 3 floors, with indoor and outdoor spaces. We were in the heart of the lively Old Town, yet felt private and quiet at night. Ideal base from which to explore western Crete.

There will not be enough superlatives to describe this place. The location overlooking the Venetian Harbor was amazing. The house is historic, beautiful and has all the amenities you will want. You literally won't believe the large rooftop deck with crazy views. The house had lots of interesting things to read, lots of space for a large group and it was stocked with maps and guidebooks. The neighborhood is completely safe. The in-person welcome from the hosts contained some really thoughtful surprises (you will need to find out yourself - I won't ruin the surprise welcome.). The apartment is as it appears in the photos, the terrace is huge, very cool, comfortable for breakfast, lunch or dinner watching the sea. Costas was always available, and left us a basket of fruit, muffins and chocolates. The area is fantastic to spend a few days and get to know part of the island. It is a tourist area but very quiet and comfortable, next to the beautiful town of Chania, which is wonderful and from the apartment you can walk a beautiful one-hour walk. By car it is less than 10 minutes and by bus that stops next to the house. Everything was very comfortable. The beach is also nice and the winged one is very beautiful.

The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. The place was super clean and everything well maintained. Just felt right at home with an amazing view, great beds and a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Fantastic Villa for our family party. Spacious, well equipt and with lovely pool and view. There are nice (and inexpensive restaurants within walking distance too). Neighbourhood was peaceful. We felt very much at home, mainly due to the fantastic hosting. Georgia and Andreas are so friendly. Cheerful , beautiful people. They want to make every part of the stay special. Thank you both! ❤️

Absolutely beautiful location, 2 minute walk to the main Old Port area and tons of nice shops in the back streets.

Stayed here from June 9 - June 13, our reservation was for two people. Mano was very kind and accommodating to us. We took a ferry to Heraklion, rented a car, and drove to the Airbnb. No trouble finding it, and having a private parking space in this location is a HUGE plus! Chania parking and driving is very chaotic. Airbnb was very generously stocked with espresso pods, Ouzo, items from the hosts bakery (the banana bread was incredible), a bottle of water, and more. Everything we needed! Excellent local recommendations and a super market within a short walk. Everything worked perfectly and was very clean too! Would 100% recommend and stay here again!

We were immediately received super warmly by the landlord. The accommodation was fantastically beautiful, the sight was hard to describe. The rooms and the complex were very well maintained. The landlord is super nice, but not intrusive at all. We would come back anytime!

We had a wonderful stay that was far too short at Georgios's. Its studios are very comfortable, located in a peaceful place and environment. The decoration is done with great taste and the small kitchen is a real asset for making meals on site. The beds are comfy and the nights are very quiet. The beach, restaurants and small shops are within walking distance. Georgios is very welcoming while remaining discreet. The pool is superb and pleasant when returning from a hike. An absolutely fantastic stay! The villa offers a family atmosphere – we immediately felt at home. The apartments are perfectly equipped, very clean and furnished with attention to detail. The pool and the barbecue area were highlights that we used every day. We would like to especially highlight the landlord: always available, warm and incredibly helpful. He was immediately available for every question. The absolute highlight was when he prepared a traditional Cretan salad for us - a wonderful gesture that delighted us all. We really lacked nothing. If you are looking for relaxation, comfort and genuine hospitality, you have come to the right place. We can fully recommend the villa and will definitely come back!

Fabulous holiday. Villa was even better than described and was cleaned twice during our 10 day stay. Solon gave us a lovely welcome and was on hand throughout the stay. Kalathas beach at the end of the road was ideal for the family. Everything you need is at the villa and the pools are lovely. There were quite a lot fighter jets and airliners from nearby Chania. Not a problem for us but they are regularly flying over and are loud in case any young ones don’t like loud noises. Luckily ours loved them and we even saw the red arrows. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

It was a wonderful stay for us, during which we experienced a lot. From the house, it is a 10-minute drive to a beautiful beach, which is very crowded from 10 a.m. For those who like it a little quieter, I can recommend Zorbias Beach and Pachias Ammos Beach. The beaches are 15 minutes away by car and are not so crowded with people. The house is located in a quiet location with a few goats next to it, who also like to talk. Above the house is the flight path for Chania Airport, but aircraft are not frequent. We can recommend this beautiful accommodation and its nice and courteous owners to anyone who wants to spend a relaxing holiday in Crete. We will be happy to come back.

Nektaria and Niko’s’ hospitality is unmatched! They are such lovely and delightful people and made all of our family feel right at home from the moment we met them. The views and home are one of a kind! Such a special place my family will always remember. Absolutely would recommend to anyone visiting Crete and hope to be back again! :)

We spent 14 wonderful days in Marilena's residence. From the first moment we felt very welcome. Marilena is not only extremely hospitable and friendly, but also very sweet and nice to children. The place was sparkling clean and well cared for. The private swimming pool was an absolute highlight: every morning it was carefully cleaned by Marilena herself. What we also really appreciated was that they came to clean the house in the meantime – of course in consultation. Really top service! You can tell from everything that Marilena does this with love and has an eye for her guests. In short: a fantastic place to stay with a hostess who really makes a difference. We will definitely come back here!
