Tent holiday rentals in Kalahari Desert

I loved my stay at Askiesbos! I was here for a month to conduct research in Nxamasere. I arrived much later in the day than I originally estimated, but Dammann and Hettie stayed in close contact with me and Dammann was waiting for me at the gate to welcome me upon arrival. They were extremely hospitable and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. They also supported my research by allowing me to use the beautiful lounge area for some of my data elicitation sessions (not to mention providing a reliable internet connection and power source, which goes a long way in my field!). The chef, Titi, cooks fantastic food that feels like dining out at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here for vacations or for work.

Staff was so helpful, restaurant was a welcome convenience after a long days travel!

If you are looking for a good place to stay in the Maun area, Mauri is the place to be. Mauri responds to all questions very quickly and comprehensively. Mauri organized us wonderful excursions. You don't have to organize the excursions yourself! Just leave it over Mauri. The highlight was a helicopter tour. We were picked up by the heli directly from the Bell Frog Inn. Mauri's team is very attentive, friendly and respectful. You feel the good togetherness as a team. The place in the tent was simple, but had everything you need. It was good for slowing down from hectic everyday life. I would especially like to thank you for the help of Mauri and his team, with a problem with our car rental. Mauri has acted on us that we don't have to worry. Dear Mauri, dear Paul, dear Allan, dear Emanuel, thank you very much for everything and we would very much like to see you again. ♥️ P.S. Now I almost forgot the great pizza. 😜

Great stay at the Bell Frog Inn! They opened the restaurant even though we were the only guests for the two days, and were always there to help us. This accomodation really is a hidden gem in Botswana, that you have to love. We also had a great Mokoro experience in the Delta, just talk to the team and they will arange everything for you. Probably the best price-value ratio of all our stops on the trip.

This is a luxury lodge in everything, and that for a normal price. Beautifull and peacefull location, not to far away from Moremi (appr 2 hrs drive) Happy to have stayed there.

Mike’s place is an absolute gem We arrived early afternoon to be greeted by Mike and his wonderful team: Samuel, Naomi and Constancia. It’s a brilliant location for preparing to go down to Sossusvlei, Swakopmund or even if you’re thinking about heading to Spitzkop. Accommodation was excellent. Samuel took us on a short Game drive which got us acquainted with some of the wildlife of Namibia: Kudu, springbok, giraffe, blue wildebeast, jackals, partridge and more. We booked dinner and breakfast. Both were outstanding. Dinner was a range of game steaks, wonderful starter and dessert Breakfast was excellent and we were treated with boerewors. Naomi & Constancia made us “padkos” (food for the road) in the morning. Much appreciated. Mike is a wholehearted, hospitable & generous host. This is a special place and great starting point as you leave Windhoek.

It was one of the greatest weekends to just relax! Caught big fish and will return for sure.... Next time, I will bring the whole family!

The accommodation is fantastically quiet, perfect for switching off. The pool was super clean and the water crystal clear – a wonderful refreshment after a warm day. Erika visited us in the evening and gave us great, personal tips for our safari in Etosha National Park - that was really helpful and very nice of her. The outdoor kitchen was also particularly nice: fully equipped, we lacked nothing. And sitting under the African starry sky at night is simply magical. An all-round great experience that we can recommend at any time!

The stay with Gerald was really beautiful. We felt very comfortable. The tent was very cozy and clean. You can relax by the pool. We ate dinner in the restaurant and 100% recommend the food and staff. The food was great and was very inexpensive. On transit, you can highly recommend this camp. The path is well signposted and we found the accommodation immediately. Thanks again and see you soon.
