Very nice place to stay in Fort Davis. Most comfortable beds I have slept in in an Air BB. Great mattress! Very quiet and peaceful with the sleeping lion mountain in front. We enjoyed the birds and their morning chatter. Walkable to the downtown area. Matthew was a lovely host. Quickly responded to my question and had clear instructions for the lockboxes. Also he was very concerned with making our stay wonderful. Be aware that there aren’t too many eating establishments in Fort Davis but we tried Lupita’s and were not disappointed! Also there’s a very nice, new Lowe’s grocery store in Fort Davis where you can get any groceries as well as supplies. We definitely enjoyed the area and Matthews place. Do not miss the McDonald Observatory! The stars at night are truly big and bright in Texas!

We stayed for work, it was a very nice place, lots of room and had everything listed. Love that we felt right at home. The windmill in the yard was a bonus. We love the outdoors and had plenty of room to move about. Would highly recommend this location to others.

Perfect location for a long weekend getaway

High Frontier is truly something special. Absolutely beautiful surroundings, great space with thoughtful features and quality amenities like nice towels, comfy robes, and slippers. The front & back patios included modern outdoor furniture to take in the breathtaking landscapes. It is close to Fort Davis and the Observatory and the stars at night are absolutely magical- it’s almost like you’re still at the observatory! Everyone I spoke to in town seemed very excited when they heard about where I was staying and said the owner was a great person that put a lot of time & effort into HF. If you are arriving at night make sure to look at directions beforehand & get the WiFi login because cell service is limited and they are respectful of the nature & stars by maintaining a low light environment. Can’t wait to return to such an incredible place soon!

High Frontier is a wonderful place to stay! Beautiful to take a walk or relax and enjoy the view. Ten minutes from town. Beautiful furnishings, comfy beds and linens. Maggie was so helpful and kind. We’ve already booked our next visit!

The High Frontier might just be the most beautiful area in Texas. Surrounded by the Davis Mountains with hundreds mile views, this is the perfect area to relax and unplug. The rooms were very well appointed with modern furnishings, really comfortable beds and everything you could need in the kitchen. There are multiple “modern cabins” but they’re spread far enough from each other that you’ll still feel complete privacy . I could see this as a perfect setting for groups like weddings, family reunions, retreats, etc. My family will DEFINITELY be back and we can’t wait to tell all of our friends about it. The studio at High Frontier definitely met our expectations. We were looking for a quiet place to enjoy the majestic scenery of far west Texas. The view out the back windows or sitting on the back patio of the studio was beautiful and peaceful looking out over the rustic mountains in the background! The inside space was very comfortable and had thoughtful amenities - comfortable bed, luxury bath products and linens, and delicious Lavazza coffee. The property is being further developed to be what is sure to be a coveted destination for a variety of travelers' needs! The staff were quick to respond to our questions/needs.

This is the second time in our technician's has stayed at High frontier for an out-of-town project, again the stay was amazing with incredible views, quiet but accessible, beautiful property and house. Maggie has been great host, helpful, caring and great communication. We will definitely continue to come back, home away from home.

Like any new place, they are still working out the finer details, but anything you need they can accommodate and they are extremely responsive. It’s definitely a special place! I highly recommend! My husband and I will absolutely be back!

Love love love this tiny house! It was super clean, beautifully decorated and well equipped with everything we needed. If I could take it home with me and put in my backyard I would. It was just adorable! Glenda is a great host and I’d love to return soon!

I booked this place for our friends traveling with their two year old, so this was a great space for them, while my husband and I stayed in Jennifer's other place, "The Treehouse" above this "Longhorn Casita" listing. This setup is perfect for those traveling with others but want some privacy. Everything was comfortable and clean. We enjoyed morning coffee and night stargazing on the patio with beautiful views. We were so lucky to have caught a Starlink satellite launch one of the nights. Wonderful memories were made. I'll be booking both listings again when I bring my parents next. It's a home away from home. Thanks for everything, Jennifer!

This house was a total retreat with all the great aspects of Far West Texas and great amenities—spotless internet, record player & albums, very comfy bed, great big shower. We loved the gorgeous sunrises and sunsets, the fireplace on the patio in the mornings, lounging on the patio as much as possible, and a super comfortable cross-breeze throughout the house made there no need for AC! We’ll be back!

Stephanie’s place was truly what was expected, clean and comfortable, a wonderful place to stay in Fort Davis. Easily walkable to everything downtown, excellent listing.

The Last Resort is a great little spot to just hideout and chill. The fenced in "dog park" is a really great idea for this little RV park and made my stay that much more pleasant. Also, the separate shower facility is wonderful, as anyone who has stayed/lived in an RV can identify with I'm sure🤗. Thank you for a nice, comfortable end to my time in Fort Davis!

We truly enjoyed our Memorial Day weekend stay at cottage #3...we had several activities planned for our 4 day stay, but honestly when we came back to relax or just chill, those were the best times! We didn't even turn on the TV...we had such a nice, peaceful and relaxing time! Definitely memorable and if we're back in these parts, I'd stay again! Thanks Jennifer!

Each day after adventuring, we couldn’t wait to return to this artfully curated retreat. Every corner revealed something new—beautiful artwork, vintage finds, and thoughtful details. With Mark and Esther’s creative touches, a well-stocked, updated kitchen and bathroom, and super comfortable beds, this is truly one of the most delightful homes we've stayed in. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!
