Family-friendly holiday rentals in Island Bay

Well appointed and clean room with ensuite bathroom, kitchenette, couch and desk. A very comfortable stay, with a private entrance and garden area. The hosts David and Kerry are amazing, they made me feel right at home from the small treats and welcome goodies they left in the room, to showing me the local sites, public transport routes, walking trails and restaurants.

An absolutely gorgeous house in an idyllic spot, overlooking the Wellington Harbour. Guthrie Cottage had everything we needed, and nothing we didn't. The beds were comfortable, the central heating was amazing, and the water pressure good. The ideal location to get away from any hustle and bustle, and to be lulled to sleep by the sea on your doorstep. We had a very peaceful, relaxing stay at Guthrie Cottage - will be back!

Thank you Tania. Absolutely perfect for my daughter and I. We are country lovers so this couldn’t have been better for us. Loved looking at the horses out the window / door. Loved the sounds of the birds in the evening and the morning. I got a little confused finding the cottage at first as I went up the left driveway to the main house, not the right driveway. But was able to get hold of Tania promptly and she was able to redirect me. This is a beautiful rustic type cottage with the space really well thought out. I didn’t mind the kitchenette in the bathroom. Obviously as long as you keep everything sanitary as you use it it’s not an issue. Kind of the same situation if you were to stay in a caravan everything is close together amenities wise. Was nice and warm and super cosy. Would absolutely stay here again. Thanks so much for your kind, friendly and inviting hospitality.

What an amazing place, with a view even more stunning than it appears in the photo! Everyday I felt compelled to take a photo of the constantly changing scene laid out in a 180 degree panorama. Benoit was a very thoughtful and responsive host, and it was everything my family (two adults, two kids) needed for our visit to Wellington. It is a very comfortable and beautiful house, and a handy location including shops a few minutes drive away and a great cafe a few minutes walk down the path. Although looks a bit out of town on the map, it is a short and easy drive into the city. Oscar the cat was soon part of the family and our son was very sad to say goodbye!

Was great to have the space for a family get together. Was warm in bedrooms but needed the fire in the kitchen.

Fabs’ guesthouse was absolutely what we needed - perfect for a weekend getaway to relax and unwind. Set among beautiful gardens with a spa pool. We recommend.

Fantastic house for our young family, we stayed in August and it was nice and warm. Location is great, as well as the view. Good value for money. Really loved the underfloor heating in the bathroom and having the heat pump on when we arrived was a nice touch. Would definitely stay here again.

The perfect place for my stay in the capitol. Ticked all the boxes for me and was a pleasant place to stay. Very friendly host always makes a difference too.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The house is super clean, modern, tidy and has new appliances and so on. It felt quiet and private and has a big back yard and off street parking. Our host were communicative and responsive, and check in was super easy.

Haiying's tree top apartment is absolutely delightful - with stunning views of the bay and Wellington. We loved our short stay - just wished we had longer to enjoy it!

Miramar is a little gem, a lovely restaurant at hand, native bush a short walk away, there's trolls!, and a Brewery. what's not to like

We loved our stay at Little 6. Rochelle is a fantastic host - she communicated well, provided clear instructions, and was super responsive. From the homemade granola to coffee pods and bottle of juice, we were made to feel welcome. Titahi Bay is an awesome location to stay when travelling to Wellington. We usually stay in the CBD but opted for Titahi and loved the local Porirua Art Centre.

We loved our stay here. The flat is very spacious and had a great kitchen with everything you could need. It was really clean and homely. Super location in the city too. Would definitely come back!

Caroline and Markus were such beautiful hosts. responsive when needed help and adaptable when I was in pickle. I was hosting friends from over seas and this place made for a really easy and meaningful time. especially having the native wildlife right outside the window. Great few days at Ollys place. if you like the inner city vibe, this is the place for you as everything is so handy. The accommodation was very clean and tidy, lovely stylish spaces. Awesome bed and amazing hot water!

Great place to stay. Walking distance to restaurants, water, bars & shopping. Kelley was a fantastic host, very responsive & offered great advice. The place was spotless with great facilities. Loved the place & highly recommend.

Brenda's place was perfect for us. She was very friendly and welcoming. We had everything we needed, and it was very clean and tidy. A very short walk to Kelburn Village with its amenities. The neighbourhood was very nice and we were able to walk many of the trails in the adjacent Botanical Gardens. It was lovely and we hope to stay there again soon.

This is the second time that our family has stayed with Margaret, and we hope to come back again! She and Rob are incredibly thoughtful and responsive and made our arrival seamless. The house is spacious, well equipped, and very comfortable and cozy. (Great fireplace!) There’s a bus stop literally out front that takes you into city center or out to Miramar, and she got us set up with bus cards so all we had to do was top them up. The neighborhood has a small grocery across the street and lots of restaurants and shops, with a larger grocery 750m away in walking distance. This is a great base for a family wanting to explore Wellington and also have a place to come back to that feels like home. My favorite place I have ever stayed!

A lovely spot. Clean and comfortable, with a nice spacious bedroom. Peaceful setting looking out into the private garden. Lisa was very helpful and a great host. Looking forward to staying again.

Carolyn is a fabulous host and her home is incredible! We had a large group of 11 adults and 5 children stay and the home was absolutely perfect. The house has absolutely everything you need and that view is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
