Holiday rentals with lake access in Hvalfjörður

We feel so fortunate to have spent 2 glorious nights at Halldor’s house with our 2 college-aged sons. The house design is exquisite: a perfect blend of simplicity, style, and sophistication but lacking in pretension. The house is designed with windows and glass doors looking out over the property. In every direction there are rolling fields and river views. We loved dunking in the river and racing up to the sauna. We also loved the outdoor shower. We lit a fire each night and cooked meals in the wonderful kitchen. The only downside to the house is that you never want to leave it! But we did enjoy going into town. The Settlement museum offered a very good intro to Iceland history. This was a perfect place for us to stay on our way to the West Fjords. I truly hope we come back and stay much longer next time. Thank you, Halldor, for creating such a beautiful home.

Soggiorno in un alloggio magico, di fronte al lago, con una vista mozzafiato. La casa era molto pulita, silenziosissima, confortevole e attrezzata di ogni cosa necessaria. Posizione super, così come la comunicazione con gli host. Seguire attentamente le istruzioni dell’host per arrivare all’alloggio, non facilissimo da raggiungere con Google maps. Consigliatissimo! Non vediamo già l’ora di tornare. Grazie di tutto ad Emma e Oskar!

A lovely, peaceful place right on the Golden Circle tucked between a serene lake and a few friendly horses. The setting was absolutely beautiful and felt like a true escape.

This place is great! Very cozy and close to the golden circle and Selfoss, which has great restaurants! We especially enjoyed the cozy vibe of the interior furniture and kitchen. We also really enjoyed the hot tub and cold plunge combo. Magnús was really responsive when we had questions, and even got on the phone to walk us through how to fill the hot tub and turn off the lights so we could better view the aurora!

Wir hatten zu viert einen schönen Aufenthalt in Kristinns hübschem Haus. Super war der HotPot hinter dem Haus mit Blick in die schneebedeckten Bergey Die Kommunikation mit Kristinn verlief problemlos. Nur die Navigation mit den Koordinaten hat nicht so geklappt. Nach einem Telefonat war das Problem schnell gelöst.

An absolutely stunning lake side villa close to the famous Golden Circle. We used it as our base for a week to explore Iceland with friends. We were two families, with three children in total. The villa is simply stunning, so beautiful and the perfect home away from home. We all loved returning back in the evenings and enjoying the sauna and hot tub. Then the grown ups sat up late to take in the never ending sun outside, snuggled with blankets and fire pit for company. We lost track how many photos we all took of the lake. We also enjoyed our coffee in the morning over looking the lake and running the loop around the lake. Communication was excellent and Telma couldn't have been more responsive or helpful. We 100% recommend and will be back!

Absolutely stunning views and an unbeatable location. The host was incredibly welcoming, easy to communicate with, and their pets made the stay even more delightful. Our whole family had a wonderfully relaxing time—we’d love to return!

Everything was fine with the accommodation. Milad answers questions quickly. Parking is great. Fully equipped kitchen.

We've stayed here twice now and again it's absolutely amazing, the scenery, the apartment, the host all amazing and nothing to complain about. one of the best places I've ever stayed at.

Pour notre première nuit en Islande, nous avons apprécié le calme de l'appartement d'Helena. Il est agréablement spacieux et très très propre. Vraiment proche de l'aéroport, c'est un plaisir de s'y poser après une journée à voyager. Keflavik est une mignonne petite ville pour se balader. De la chambre, la vue sur la mer est apaisante. Notre petit garçon a vraiment apprécié les jouets à disposition et le petit lit installé pour lui. Merci beaucoup ✨

Great apartment with lots of space for kids to play, we enjoyed the stay

L’appartamento era al piano terra. Tutto l’arredo molto funzionale sia in cucina (il set era completo) sia in bagno (presenza di lavatrice e asciugatrice). In 15-20 min si può arrivare nel centro di Reykjavik. Ma soprattutto il supporto efficace e sempre presente di Sabine. Ritengo che questo sia il vero vantaggio competitivo in grado di dare sicurezza alla presenza e alla soluzione abitativa. Complimenti Sabine!

Spędziliśmy tydzień w apartamencie wynajmowanym przez Dagnę i był to wspaniały czas. Apartament jest świetnie zlokalizowany na wzgórzu z panoramicznym widokiem na miasto aż po ocean. Któregoś wieczora za oknem pojawiła się zorza polarna. Raczej dla osób dysponujących samochodem. Mieszkanie jest wygodne, można poczuć się jak u siebie w domu. Są wszystkie potrzebne udogodnienia. Dagny jest bardzo komunikatywnym gospodarzem. Szybko odpowiada na wiadomości i jest pomocna.

Fantastisk opphold, og leiligheten var enda finere enn på bildene. Lett å komme seg til fra flyplassen, lett å komme seg til Reykjavik, lett å komme seg rundt til andre nydelige steder. Superhyggelig vert som alltid svarte raskt ☺️ Ingenting å klage på, så dette anbefales!

Lovely flat in a lovely neighborhood, not fancy but very comfortable - exactly what I was expecting. Krisztina was quick to communicate when we asked questions, I'd highly recommend her place if you're visiting Reykjavik!

Not enough can be said about how truly special the home was for me. My first time to Iceland, celebrating my 50th birthday, I wanted some place memorable. The home was perfect! The hosts were very helpful and even proactive in notifying us there was a small storm rolling through ahead of our stay and provided us links to check the weather and road conditions. The house is very private and chic. Yet it's very close to the national park which we spent hours at seeing incredible natural wonders. Just 20 minutes away. The house is also just a few minutes from a major town with all the essentials you will need and not far from a Viking restaurant I wanted to go to which was awesome. If I'm ever lucky enough to be back in Iceland I'd love to stay here. If there's anything I'd recommend is maybe another couple of oscillating fans. There was one but with three of us we needed another as it was a little toasty at night. Opening a window was fine though and worked for us. 5 stars (& more)!! ⭐️

Our stay was perfect. The cabin was great and exactly as shown in the pictures. The place was clean and the kitchen was well stocked with appliances for a small kitchen. Eggert was quick to respond and check-in was easy and smooth. Great overall experience and would definitely recommend this place.

Gudny's place was amazing and the photos didn't do it justice. My family of 5 were very comfortable. We loved the updated bathroom and use of the hot tub.

My family and I were looking for a place to stay that was close to the ferry to the Westman Islands. Being that this home was not in the capital of Reykjavik we were not sure how up-to-date the amenities would be, but the home exceeded all our expectations! It is so quirky but so welcoming from the minute you walk in. Very well stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, fluffy towels and robes, you can't ask for more! We were lucky enough to have beautiful weather so were able to take advantage of comfortable outdoor seating with spectacular views. I would highly recommend!

We had a magical time at Sabrina’s cabin! Sabrina was incredibly helpful, kind, and responsive. The cabin was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed as well as close to many sights. We saw the northern lights from the cabin our first night! Unforgettable :) Book it!!!

Maria's cabin is out of the way on a small lake. The scenery is beautiful. The cabin had all the necessities and comfortable beds. One bedroom was on the small side, but the main bedroom was large. The only issue was a difference in how America and Icelandic people make their number 1's. I thought the Wi-Fi code had a 7 in it but it was a 1. After I figured that out, the Wi-Fi worked great. :-)

Incredibly beautiful, peaceful surroundings. The pictures and description don't do it justice. The unit is clean and stylish in an understated way, and was very comfortable. Hosts were proactive, communicative, and helpful. I couldn't have asked for a better stay.

This cottage has a wonderful view of the lake. It was very comfortable for four adults and a toddler. We were at peace listening to nature and watching the lake. The host was very communicative and helpful. The location is very close to the Golden Circle's must-see locations. The closest town was an 8-minute drive and had great local restaurants. I highly recommend this stay.
