Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Hunter Region

It was the perfect spot for a get away. So homely with beautiful views of the surrounding terrain. The rain on the roof was a dream to fall asleep to and the sun coming through the stained glass window above the door felt as if we were waking up in a fairytale. It held the quintessence of what you’d hope for in a hunter valley escape 100% want to go back.

Our family of eight adults enjoyed our weekend in Pokolbin. We enjoyed the view to the mountains from the balcony and the large yard with three rustic chipping greens to practice our golf. The house was spacious and the ducted air-conditioning provided warmth during some cold winter weather. The BBQ are was also excellent. The property is walking distance to a few cellar doors and a nearby restaurant provided a free shuttle service for convenience. Melissa was a wonderful host and made every effort to ensure we had an enjoyable stay.

Staying with Anita was an absolute pleasure. The location was perfect, the home was cozy and impeccably clean, and Anita was always available to answer our questions. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

Lovely little place in the heart of Greta. Great spot to discover the surrounding area especially the Hunter Valley Wineries. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and fresh eggs from the hosts chickens and other welcome treats. We would recommend a stay.

We had a fantastic stay at this lovely family and pet-friendly house! The communication with the host was smooth and attentive, making the entire process effortless. The location is truly wonderful—peaceful and secluded, yet still conveniently close to everything we needed. Our family and pets felt right at home, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in a beautiful setting. This was our second time staying here, and once again it was absolutely perfect. The location is awesome — peaceful, secluded, and with stunning views in every direction. It’s incredibly quiet, which made for a truly relaxing getaway. Everything we needed was included, from the cozy fire we could light to keep warm, to the fully equipped kitchen that had everything we could possibly need for cooking. It really feels like a home away from home. Highly recommended — and we’ll definitely be coming back again! Yvonne even kindly offered a slight discount.

We had a fantastic stay! The location was absolutely beautiful and perfect for kids to enjoy. The hot tub was a real highlight, especially on a cold evening, it was such a treat. Highly recommend and would love to come back!

We had a 1 night stopover and Jean made things very simple and easy for us. We were very sad we couldn't stay for longer because it was a beautiful house with everything you could ever need (and the food provided was incredible! My girlfriend is obsessed with lime marmalade now). I would love to stay again when in the area and highly recommend to anyone. A true blend of comfort and luxury.

We love the place. Great sunset from the balcony, well-stocked pantry with condiments, etc. Place was clean, well-appointed size. Modern. Tip: the beds are really nice but has different firmness - check before choosing your room! This is the downstairs apartment. Choose upstairs for better view. Direct access with private driveway, too!

The studio was sparkling clean and the bed was really comfy. The reverse cycle AC made the studio cozy on a cold winter weekend and there is a great pub only one block away with excellent food. Cath and Alex were very friendly and helpful both before we arrived as well as during our stay. Overall it was excellent value for money. We had a great weekend and we will be back for our next Newcastle visit.

The hospitality of this locations was unbeatably unmatched and felt more personal and accommodating than hotels. From the locatiom being incredibly well put together with its impeccable interior design, it becomes clear the place is a passion project more than anything. I couldn't sing my praises high enough for the cleanliness, comfort, convenience, amenities, services and incredible standard of hospitality set by this one visit. My stay was absolutely incredible and would highly highly reccomend it in future.

Jonathan is the most amazing host. The apartment is absolutely breathtaking and I was not prepared for the view. The place is of a high standard of quality and cleanliness. The kitchen is equipped with quality supplies. And the kitchen towels are abundant and fresh (I'm a chef so this was so beautiful to see) everything there that you would need for a home away from home. luxury bathroom with more than adequate supplies. Peaceful, safe, amazing living and dining area, the most freshest bed I've ever slept in. Thank you so much, Jonathan for having me. I recommend this place so highly and with the assurance that it's the best airbnb I have ever stayed and will definitely be coming back.

Absolutely loved our stay in this cosy, clean, and super quiet home in Greta. Perfectly located just 15 minutes from the wineries, it was the ideal base for a busy wedding weekend. The property is peaceful and beautifully maintained – we only wish we had more time to enjoy it! There were horses and a little sausage dog named Wonka who definitely deserve a shoutout. We’ll be back

We really enjoyed our 3 nights at Matt's place. Same as other reviews, in that it was a little hard to find when first checking in, in the dark too, but once we got our bearings with Matt's map we had no issues. That was really the only hiccup. The area is great, and you can hire bikes to do a self wine tour, direct from the resort, rather than hire elsewhere, which was a great bonus

Needing somewhere to stay while working in the area & wow what a find! I couldn’t wait to finish work and get back to enjoy this place. Bonus having a beautiful dog greeting. Hosts are down to earth great people and make ya feel at home while also giving you privacy. I absolutely loved the uniqueness & detail and all the comforts of home plus more!

Nice place with walking distance to the beach. Will definitely come back again during summer time. Loni is very responsive and helpful.

The apartment and the amenities are outstanding. We returned here because we had to extend staying away from our house because of renovations. This was our first choice and u cannot recommend it enough. What really does need highlighted is how much of an outstanding history Connie is. She was so understanding, compassionate, super friendly and flexible. She deserves 10 stars.

Absolutely lovely beach-side stay, lots of natural light inside and kept very clean. Cafe, restaurants and chemist within short walking distance. Photos are accurate, homely feels and simple instructions/guest book details. Will book again.

This accomodation was outstanding. Great location and the unit was equipped with everything you needed including some thoughtful items like a coffee machine, condiments in the fridge to a variety of tea and coffee selections. Communication was on point with step by step instructions on how to access the unit and Mark was very reactive to emails. The outlook was amazing, listening to the sound of the waves and the sunsets ❤️. I will be back..

hosts were really lovely and even left home made cookies for arrival! Lovely clean apparentment close to the beach and walks. I didn't realise there was no oven so that was the only downside for us but it was great value for the money

10 stars! The longer you stay in Keran’s studio (and Newcastle) the longer you will want to stay. As frequent airbnb’ers we SO appreciate the considerate built-in storage spaces, HOOKS (!), all the kitchen supplies needed to cook meals, etc.! Keran spoiled us: cheeses, fruit, butter, gluten free crackers (she asked about dietary requirements!), OJ and more. Any anxiety about lack of outdoor space was quelled by a cute cozy basement style patio and the fact that Newcastle Beach and its shaded chill spaces is only a few minutes’ walk away. I have to mention the bathroom which had the most sophisticated lighting I have seen. Plus a great shower, just bring your shampoo. Public transport is nearby but we were happy to have a car to explore and traffic was a non-issue. Smaller car is best. Restaurants in walking distance as well as ocean pools (a must!). Best grocery stores by car. We met Keran who was great about checking in w/us and suggestions. She lives above in this historic complex.
