Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Hocking County

The home was very cozy and great for a private getaway. Proximity to the highway made getting to the National Forrest and the nearby towns very easy.

Kyle’s property was a great place to stay for our daughter inlaw’s OU graduation weekend! The home was larger than expected, super clean and very accommodating to our needs. Would definitely stay again!

Spacious, peaceful setting for a family gathering. Clean and comfortable with a well-stocked kitchen. Close to Old Man’s Cave and the wonderful beauty of the State Park. We would enjoy returning to this property again.

Tug is an amazing host! Friendly, informative about the history of the area and places of interest to visit. Also very responsive if you have any questions or issues. The house is beautiful, cozy and immaculate. We highly recommend staying here.

Brookside cottage was a magical experience in terms of its location. The creek the water running the woods. It’s just spectacular. The beds were comfortable. The kitchen was clean. You had everything that you needed. Location was quite peaceful. It was everything that we wanted. I spent a mom’s weekend there with my daughter from Ohio University, and we also enjoyed the hot tub despite the rain.

Beautifully decorated house close to hocking hills area trails and other local attractions. The house had many amenities for people of all ages. Host was very responsive and easy to work with answering questions pertaining to our stay.

Stayed several months due to work. Place was very clean, comfortable and had easy access to restaurants, shopping and grocery stores. Onsite parking with 2 spots was nice to have. It is a duplex so there is a flight of stairs to get to the unit. Nice fluffy towels, water always hot, easy to control temperature in the house as well. Well maintained yard and nice sitting area on front porch. Downtown Lancaster is a quick 10 min walk with plenty of restaurants. There is a pizza place 2 minutes away as well and old school corner drugstore across the street. 45 minute ride to OU and roughly 35 minutes to downtown Columbus. It a very nice location. My host was warm and welcoming and answered any questions I had. I would stay here again.

Wonderful host. Always quick to respond. Place was absolutely amazing! One night stay but will definitely be back for another stay. Peaceful atmosphere- got to see a family of deer wandering from afar! Thanks for the great communication.

Seth's place was perfect. We decided last minute to get away for a few days for the holiday weekend. His place was in the perfect location with several restaurants and bars within walking distance. One was right next door. I saw that some people mentioned they were concerned it might be loud at night - it wasn't at all. They had a festival going on in town too which we were not aware of so that was a bonus for us to get some fair food and listen to music on the street. Plus Seth's place was inside the Dora area so we were able to get a Dora Cup from the bar and sip our drinks while walking back to our room. The apartment was very clean, the beds were very comfortable, he supplied all the necessities like toilet paper, coffee pods, shampoo, conditioner, towels, etc. We would most definitely stay here again if we are back down that way.

My husband and I stayed at Idyll Reserve 5 (The North) for two nights in January and had a fabulous stay! 🌲❄️ The cabin was thoughtfully designed, tastefully decorated, and very spacious for the two of us (& could accommodate a small family easily). It had all the amenities you’d need for a cozy stay — spacious, fully-stocked kitchen (with coffee & espresso maker! ☕️), comfy couch, living room with large windows & beautiful views of the surrounding woods, walk-in double shower & soaking tub, and our personal favorites — the outdoor hot tub and sauna! Laura was extremely responsive and communication regarding check-in was the best I’ve had with an Airbnb host. We could have easily stayed several more days. Hocking Hills State Park is just a ~10 minute drive away (we did some gorgeous hiking to Ash Cave, Old Man’s Cave, and Cedar Falls all within a half day). We’re already planning our next trip back with our kids! 🥰

Came through for just one night while hiking in the area and found this gem! Jeff and Nicci were great hosts and super nice. The view was beautiful and serene.

Retire, traveled for 25 years, the bed was one of the top 5, I have enjoyed. For a century home the room was spotless, the original wood floors were beautiful. The neighbor hood is a series of century home on a quiet street. Walked to the local restaurants everything is 10 minutes close. We’re enjoyable visit.

What a wonderful retreat! I stayed by myself as a little momma get away and it was perfect. The Zucchini bread is as good as everyone says! The hot tub was wonderful! The hosts were extremely responsive whenever I needed anything and really helpful! There are even games and toys for kids/toddlers if that is what you’re doing. I of course was vacationing FROM the kids toys lol but I love that if we go back there are things for the kids. Be advised that this is a basement apartment so you’ll hear footsteps and sometimes muffled voices just like you would in any house. It didnt bother me at all! The views are spectacular and the property is just so peaceful. 10/10 would recommend for sure!!

Overall very nice place to stay for a fun gathering! It was a rainy weekend and still had tons of activities to do inside, the indoor pool was amazing and lots of fun. Air-conditioning worked really well for a large house. Kitchen worked well but some limited pan/pot options for cooking for a large number of people and needed to be cleaned up prior to using. The movie theatre basement is nice and fun for a movie night or games. Beds were comfortable enough for an Airbnb. Just a couple downsides/wear and tear that ideally could need fixed up: The air hockey table is held together with duct tape and doesn’t keep score anymore. No poker chips included with the table so we had to bring those along. All still usable just being a little picky for the price. Very responsive and nice host, overall enjoyed our stay for a bachelorette party and would stay again!

This property is exactly what we were looking for…secluded, private & breathtakingly beautiful. We spent our 4 days relaxing outside….we used the amazing pool, hot tub & cold plunge daily. We explored the wooded trails they have marked out. At night we built a fire & made s’mores. Prior to arriving I purchased add ons & Keith or Raya responded to all my questions quickly. They set up a couples massage & an in cabin chef…both were AMAZING. When we arrived, check in was easy peasy & Todd was delightful to chat with. Once settled in, anytime we needed anything we just sent a text to the office & had a reply ASAP. But the most important thing to me is that is was SUPER CLEAN. I am OCD about the places we stay & even though we have stayed at many “luxury” hotels & resorts…I have never been so impressed with the cleanliness as I was with The Observatory. It was by far better than expected, so peaceful & we felt right at home. We love it so much it will now be our yearly anniversary getaway❤️

Great location - the view of the lake was spectacular. We enjoyed the fire pit, the hot tub and the accommodations. Perfect girls' getaway!

We have stayed here twice and loved it both times. The house is secluded but still close enough to town. It’s very peaceful and comfortable. Having the pool is amazing.

We absolutely loved our stay here. The pictures online don’t do this place justice, it was gorgeous inside and out. It was kid friendly/ private and had everything we needed. Brian was great; let us get inside a few minutes early when we arrived. We will definitely be back!

If I could give Villa Rock 100 stars I would! Brian put so much love into every single detail of this place, it was so beautiful and relaxing. We will always stay here when we are in this area from now on. Villa Rock was just a few minutes from all of the hiking trails in Hocking Hills. We would be in the trails at sunrise, get back to the Rock at around ten, enjoy the hot tub and sauna, then head back out for more hiking in the evening. My fiancée and I also got engaged down here this weekend, so thank you Brian for being a huge part of our forever memorable trip!
