Holiday rentals with lake access in Herzegovina-Neretva Canton

Villa Tara is very special. A cozy villa in a rural area where the mountains frame the villa and where the river Neretva flows just below the house. In the garden, there are several different fruit trees, including figs. There is also a brick grill where I grilled the Bosnian national dish Kevacic. The Mostar area boasts Mediterranean heat and in the garden there is a well-kept pool where I cooled off. It's in Villa Tara, about 8 kilometers outside of busy Mostar, I completely rushed off and just enjoyed the amazing view. Bakery bread (at extremely low prices) and food (also very cheap) I bought in the shops which are about 500 meters from the villa. When I arrived, I also got a nice welcome gift: eggs from the neighbor's affluent outdoor hens. I can highly recommend villa Tara. If you want to go into Mostar, you either have your own car, call for a taxi or take the bus. I will come here many more times.

This is a true hidden gem where I could have easily spent many more weeks. Safet and Arnela are the best hosts I’ve met on this platform. They welcomed us to their place by the lake, making sure we know all there is to know. The water from the lake is fresh but warm enough that we could swim as long as we wanted. A 20 min. walk will bring you to a fish shop (also a restaurant with a breathtaking view) where you can buy trout that you can bring back to grill. The place stays cool even on warm days. We were there for 3 weeks in June and July and never used the AC. Be prepared to deal with some mosquitoes in the evenings (though nothing compared to Canada). We had a bit of trouble finding the house: ask the hosts for details before leaving if, like us, you are travelling without a phone. Mila, the nicest cat ever, lives there all year round and is a real charmer.

This is by far the nicest place we have stayed in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The beautiful house and gorgeous, serene setting made this a place a dream to relax. And Marko’s hospitality and attention to detail really made this a special getaway vacation. The house was spotless, the pool pristine, and the beds and other furniture were comfy. We really hope we can return soon. We highly recommend!

This House is a Gem! Looks even better than on the pictures. It has everything you would need for a perfect holiday + the location is just so peaceful! We stayed 5 nights (2 adults 2 Kids) and we all agreed on it that the stay is superb..Also,.the owners of the house were so nice and friendly. We will come back one day for sure!

Very polite and nice host. The house was exactly what we were searching for, a place in the nature of Bosnia, with a nice living room, kitchen, bathroom, balcony and garden. The view onto the lake in the front and the mountains in the back was amazing. The area also was perfect for us to go hiking and biking.

The host and apartment were great. We had a very nice stay here. Thank you for the hospitality. I recommend the apartment to other guests visiting the Rama lake.

The place was located at a very beautiful spot with a clear view of the sea. It was late for us to checkin in night still Alexander was always responsive. His brother and sister-in law guided us from gas station to the house. House is having a nice pool and a Jacuzzi. We had a really nice time during our stay and our hosts were very nice and friendly. The house has all necessary equipments, AC in all rooms was a plus point as well as kitchen was having all basic amenities. I would definitely recommend this place and we will plan our stay next time at this place if we visit in the region again.

A very nice villa close to the city (10 to 12) minutes driving. You will enjoy the calmness and the nature of Mostar. The villa has its fruits trees specially the cherry.. we loved it. Spending the time in the pool surrounded by the mountains view is something very nice that we loved. I highly recommend Danijela villa for small families or even couples . Danijela is very very helpful and in touch at anytime.. she was very generous with us. Thank you Danijela 🌹🙏🌹

Absolutely loved our stay! The apartment was spacious and exactly like the photos—clean and comfortable. It's in a beautiful, peaceful location where you can truly unwind. We enjoyed quiet walks down to the river, and the mountains were simply breathtaking. Highly recommend this place if you're looking for a serene getaway.

The apartment is like on the pictures - clean, light-flooded and has a beautiful view over Lake Jablanica. Options for boat rentals are also right around the corner! Communication with Army was easy and 24/7 possible.

Staying at Alma's was just great! She took care of everything with a lot of warmth, so you immediately feel at home. The view from the balcony is stunning, and the beach is really just a stone's throw away. The location is perfect as you enjoy both tranquility and proximity to everything important at a much lower price than in the hotel area. Everything is within easy walking distance. Alma and her husband are wonderful hosts who have made our stay extra special with their kindness and helpfulness. We will definitely be back!❤️
