Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast (Berlin- Room)

XiaopingRating, 5 stars17 months ago
We had a nice stay at Abdoul's home - a clean, nice and comfortable place. Thanks to Ahmed who picked us up at and gave us a lift to the bus station, which made our check-in/out much easier. They also arranged us new year eve camel rides and a camping night in desert which was a lifetime memory for us. We'd like to recommend Abdoul's home to you.

Traditional hostel at the foot of the Sahara dunes

SophieRating, 5 stars74 months ago
In this family hostel, located at the foot of the dunes and a 10-minute walk from Merzouga, we really do the experience, while having its privacy if you wish, to live with your hosts. Omar and her family are friendly and warm, and you quickly feel at home, so much so that it is a little big heart that we leave! Thank you again Omar for this wonderful night in the desert, under the stars, and these crazy rides in 4/4: a unique and unforgettable experience! I can't wait to come back!

Private double Room with breakfast

JasmineRating, 5 stars6 months ago
Mohammad is a wonderful host and his place is very cozy and comfortable with an excellent view of the dunes from the terrace. We arrived in the dark and he met us outside and directed us on where to park to make sure we had no trouble finding it. He is very knowledgeable about the area and the culture and even arranged a jeep tour for us the next morning, making everything very easy and pleasant. This is the place to stay!

Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast (Dublin Room)

DaisyRating, 5 stars100 months ago
Suzie and Abdul could not have been more attentive and welcoming hosts. Their warmth and enthusiasm to introduce you to their home, khamllia vilage, a way of life in the desert and the gnaoa musicians famous in the village goes far and beyond expectations. Know you're in for exceptional hospitality. The hotel itself is built in keeping with the village, while the inside is comfortable, clean and spacious. The breakfasts and dinners are generous and delicious. Suzie and Abdul are more than happy to organise trips to the desert, bike rides and market visits, all of which Id recommend!

Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast (Edinburgh Room)

KatieRating, 5 stars80 months ago
Myself and my two fellow travelers are full-time “digital nomads” who need wi-fi to work and a place to call home in new locations. Khamlia was PERFECT for just that. Firstly we were amazed at the quality of the internet, considering we were located on the edge of the Sahara Desert. The common room was large and comfortable enough to work on a table or slouched on a sofa between rounds of Moroccan tea. Secondly, the location - WOW! You step out of the bed and breakfast and instantly see the Sahara and more. Not to mention the music culture that surrounds the area. Last but certainly not least, I have to thank the people we met in Khamlia. The place is a hub of the community. From star-gazing, to drum playing, camping in the dunes, dancing by the fire, watching sunset on the terrace, playing with the kids and trying the local cuisine, we felt immersed in the Moroccan culture during our stay. The staff always made sure we were okay and catered for, and the people of Khamlia kept us smiling and laughing. Thank you, thank you, thank you everybody. We wish we could of extended our stay again and again and again.

Khamlia Desert Bed & Breakfast (Marrakech-Room)

AidanRating, 5 stars100 months ago
I spent a night in Khamlia Desert Hotel/Ksar Khamlia B&B with Suzanne and Abdoul and it was beautiful. The setting, weather and people were so different and unique. Suzanne and Abdoul are well known and liked in the village and have many connections for experiencing the Gnaoua music/camel ride/night in the sand dunes. The Bnb itself is homey and well thought out. Shutters to provide relief from the heat and modern toilets and showers are welcome sights. The two sitting rooms are great, one spacious, one cosy, and provide a relaxed place to take a break. The food is authentic Moroccan and about as good as it gets. The tea is the same. The highlight of the place for me was the building-length terrace on the roof with enough room to have lunch or do some exercise or yoga. Watching the night sky and the moon rise was one of the most breathtaking things I’ve ever seen. And there’s not a sound to be heard at night with thousands of stars visible in an unspoiled sky. Suzanne and Abdoul were incredibly warm , a mixture of the famous Irish hospitality and Moroccan welcome, they have found a spectacular place far from the fast world outside and want to share with other people what they see in it. They succeeded with little effort. Khamlia will always have a special place in my heart. And I will be back in the next few years. Thanks Suzy & Abdoul!

Planet Sahara Geust House

We loved Planet Sahara & can't wait to go back. We are travelling around Morocco for 9 weeks and it was our favourite stay with the best hosts. Mohamed & Aziz were the best hosts and could not do enough for us. Lovely tea or coffee available and a great breakfast. Nice room and comfortable bed and very clean. They organised a camel trek with overnight stay in the Sahara desert which was amazing and we could have done a 4x4 trip but didn't have enough time. We were fortunate enough to celebrate the end of Ramadan with Mohamed and he cooked a delicious lamb tagine for us. We loved it so much we booked another night! Can't wait to go back!

Our stay at the camp was wonderful. Every wish has been fulfilled and the hosts attach great importance to making you feel comfortable. The tents are very comfortably furnished and the ambiance is luxurious. If necessary, all kinds of excursions and tours are organized and communication is direct and uncomplicated.

Private Room inc Breakfast Berber House, Merzouga

CharlotteRating, 5 stars37 months ago
We loved Planet Sahara & can't wait to go back. We are travelling around Morocco for 9 weeks and it was our favourite stay with the best hosts. Mohamed picked us up from the bus station at 8am and took us to the lovely Planet Sahara traditional Berber house which is located on the edge of the Sahara dunes. We had travelled on an overnight bus and he made us breakfast while we had a great hot shower. Mohamed organised a camel trek into the Sahara with overnight stay. Was amazing to achieve this bucket list! Nice room and comfortable bed and very clean. We could have also done a 4x4 trip but didn't have enough time. Mohamed cooked a tagine for us and regularly offered tea and coffee. Also offered to do our washing, great for backpackers like us. We loved it so much we booked another night! Can't wait to go back!
