Experience life in the Portuguese countryside in a traditional family owned Quinta! Perfect for families with children :) Location: Located in the center of the village Vale, Arcos de Valdevez just across the street from the church, the whole property has more than 6 hectares, it’s located in one of the most famous wine regions (vinho verde) in the country and it offers the insights of traditional farming in Northern Portugal. Description: Your home is a cottage with 2 bedrooms, 1 living room, a kitchen and a bathroom. One of the bedrooms has a double bed and the other has a bunk bed. In the living room there is an expandable sofa bed. The kitchen is fully equipped to make you feel like home and the bathroom has a shower with hot water. We try to arrange the privacy and comfort of modern home in a rustic environment. Activities: In this Quinta (Portuguese farm) you can admire the great view of the whole valley, take a nice walk (1 km) to a small waterfall and natural swimming pool, enjoy some quality time with the pigs, sheep or ducks on the property or taste the home made jams, smoked meat or liquors produced by the owner. For the nature lovers this is the place to start a hike in Peneda-Geres National Park and there is a local company that organizes tours and canoe rides. Getting around I you arrive by car, free parking is available on site. Closest city is Arcos de Valdevez (8 km away). It is well connected by bus with Porto, Lisbon, Braga and there is a direct bus from Porto airport. From Arcos to Vale there is a local bus service twice a day and taxi is available for around 10 euros. Pick up can be arranged for a fee, if agreed beforehand.

House built in granite, with three bedrooms, a kitchen, une living room, one bathroom fully furnished, a garden and open space with barbecue. Feel free to enjoy your stay. Enjoy the nature and relax! The urban area is really nera the house and you can enjoy the lovely food in soem restaurants or just enjoy the natural landscape by wlaking around or just enjoy a nice drink in one of the river-fronts. Public transportations are not the best, but you can visit some of the surrounding towns if you are good in making plans... This is my home. I reconstructed it myself. It's full of love...

Dona Branca's house is simply wonderful. There are no words to describe Dona Branca's hospitality and the charm of the house. It is a rustic house rehabilitated with immense affection, good taste and attention to detail. All rooms are spacious, the bedrooms are great, the kitchen is equipped with everything you need. The terrace with the view over the river is the icing on the cake. The house is a 1-minute walk from the river (first line of the river) and the fabulous river beaches of Ponte da Barca. It is also in the historic center of Ponte da Barca, cafes, restaurants and all local attractions. The friendliness and hospitality of Dona Branca also make all the difference, she took all possible care, from the reception to the care she took in leaving products for our breakfast. We couldn't recommend this accommodation better and we hope to return soon. Thank you for everything :)

We stayed here for a week and felt very comfortable. Diana and her husband were very friendly and not intrusive. Restaurants and supermarket within walking distance. For tours in the national park, driving short distances by car was perfect. Thank you for the cake and wine👍

Everything was great & we got great recommendations for the area. Upon arrival, we met at a nearby cafe and were escorted to the accommodation. We were very warmly welcomed on site and received the first information. After half of the stay, we even got fresh towels. Unfortunately, two things are not apparent from the description: the view of the lake is obscured by trees & you have direct neighbors. But that didn't bother us & we would come again and again!
