Holiday rentals with a kayak in Green Bay

Great place for our family to gather, play games, hike and explore Sturgeon Bay! Beautiful home with all conveniences we needed. Plenty of bird watching in front of home, and hiking in Potowotami SP was a blast. Dan was a phenomenal host and felt he was available any time to answer questions or provide direction. Can’t wait to return!

Dan & Beth said they wanted us to feel at home and we certainly did! We had 7 adults in our group & we talked about the house & cost to stay there. We all agreed it was absolutely worth every cent. Dan couldn’t have been more helpful whenever we reached out with a question. Being right on the beach was magical. Fires at night with a plentiful supply of dry wood was a nice surprise! Anything you could possibly think of was at our disposal! Even the refrigerator was pristine, which in my experience, doesn’t always happen in a rental. We will miss Sandvik house!

Fantastic home! We loved everything about this place. Lots of space for our family of six. House was clean, stocked with lots of amenities. Linens, towels, board games, books, kitchen supplies.. We loved the beautiful view, deck, fire pit, dock, paddle board and kayak. Would definitely recommend and would love to come back!

We stayed at Winding Down for our 25th anniversary. We've been coming to Door County for over 25 years, and we've stayed at some nice places. But this is easily the nicest we've encountered. The space is expansive, but still cozy, quiet, serene and inviting. It is also immaculate. We enjoyed the selections of artwork and the attention to detail throughout the house. At one point we needed James's help with the refrigerator, and he was quick to provide assistance. It was also really enjoyable chatting with him. If the place is available again during our anniversary week, we'd love to return.

We love staying at Jody’s place! The weather was not the best when we were there, but we were within minutes of indoor activities to do. The binder she provided gave great recommendations! Will definitely stay again.

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing stay! Kids enjoyed fishing off the dock and paddleboarding around the no wake lake. Would love to see how relaxing a winter stay would be.

We take a fishing trip every year, Blia's place is the best place we've ever stayed in! It has all the comforts of home, she anticipated every need you could ever have! Clean, modern and peaceful, we will definitely book this house again.

Rained the first 2 days but the arcade room and board games kept us entertained when we were stuck inside. Yard is flat so kids played in the yard when it was too cold to swim. Sun Room and Firepit patio were highlights. S’mores stuff and bug spray were provided and much appreciated. On site towels/linens were also great. Had everything we needed. And Larry was very responsive and timely whenever we had a question. Can’t wait to come back!

We enjoyed our stay. She has a very kept place that was super clean. Enjoyed the peace and quiet of nature but close to town to do fun activities. We also found great food and coffee places nearby. Would totally recommend staying with Renee

We had a great stay at this cabin! Beautiful area with a lot of outdoor stuff to do.

We originally booked a different cottage in Ludington….only to find out we accidentally booked it for the wrong date. We cancelled that reservation and booked this location instead. Host responded immediately- huge relief to us since we were already on our way to the area. Directions to the house were spot on, which made it easy to find. Even though this was a last minute reservation, the house was ready for us. Yes, the furniture is dated but that was fine with us. There is so much to do in the area that we were gone most of the time. However, we did spend some time at the house to do some fishing out on the lake- they have a boat and canoe onsite that we were able to take out. Our last night there, we sat out by the fire pit and stargazed while we fished. It was perfect! Communication with host couldn’t have been any better. They checked in with us to make sure all was going well and responded right away when I accidentally locked ourselves out of the house. Would stay again.

This is a cute little house right on Lake Michigan. It was perfect for our girls weekend with plenty of room inside and outside for our group to stay together. It was a beautiful spot for coffee and sunrises by the lake in the morning and wine and sunsets in the evening. Rick was a great host. We would definitely stay here again.

We spent four nights in the cabin and truly enjoyed our stay. The cabin was pristine and offers a lovely, wide view of the bay. Don and Pam have made an effort to offer not only that built-in view, but also front and back yards with pretty flowers and plants. They have also clearly made an effort to offer up a pretty home with many special touches. We appreciated that the cabin was stocked with many helpful items, such as Saran, baggies, coffee, seasonings - all the things you don't want to have buy and then toss at the end of a trip barely used. Plus, we found this area to be a good jumping off point for the entire peninsula and handy to the necessities, such as a grocery store in Sturgeon Bay. We also enjoyed many walks around the neighborhood, which is woodsy and beautiful.

This is the second time we’ve stayed at Winding River Cottages and we absolutely love it. Located just outside of town, it is a private space on the water that is teeming with wildlife and beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It’s perfect for fishing, relaxing by the campfire and exploring surroundings from the kayak. It is clear that the owners take pride in their cottages, as they have made significant updates since we last stayed - new pergolas, charming outdoor lighting and a beach! We hope this space is available the next time we return!

Adam was very friendly and helpful. He responded to my questions right away. The cabin is adorable and very clean. It looks just like advertised. I would definitely stay here again!

We have nothing but wonderful things to say about our stay at Jodi's cabin. It felt like home away from home. The cabin and bunkhouse were cozy and fit our big family perfectly. The layout of the property with the fire pit/grill area, chairs, and hammock being located between the cabin and bunkhouse made for a perfectly private setting. There was never a dull moment for the entire family - kayaking, paddle boading, pedal boating, fishing (we rented a pontoon from John Kozicki Pontoon Rental), swimming, games, bonfires and sunbathing. It was exactly what we needed to feel relaxed and rejuvenated. Jodi is a wonderful host and was responsive and friendly throughout the entire process. The kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed. The bathroom was well-stocked with necessities and plenty of towels. The beds were incredibly comfortable and the master bedroom has an amazing view of the river. Not one complaint was heard during our stay, and we cannot wait for our next visit!

We had a great weekend. The cabin is lovely. We hiked at the nearby nature area, fished in the lake & surrounding areas, and explored downtown. We made breakfasts and dinners at the cabin and the kitchen had everything we needed. The beds were all comfortable. We enjoyed the variety of boats available.

My book club stayed here for the weekend and it was perfect! Everything was as described and it has a lovely view. The beach was easy to get to and we really enjoyed sitting in the backyard too. I still cannot get over how comfortable the beds were as well. It does get very bright in the loft area as the sun rises but it didn’t affect our weekend negatively just something for others to know. Overall, I would highly commend this spot!

Beautiful log cabin with views of pristine lake — this was a great spot for our family with little kids. We loved location with access to all that the area has to offer and took advantage of the lake and the paddle boards. The kids loved swimming in the lake and the hot tub was great to relax in after. Extremely responsive and helpful host.

Such a beautiful cabin on a protected bay of Lake Michigan but still see enough to feel the big water and hear the waves crashing. Awesome fire place great place to sit and read and relax by the fire. Lots to do nearby, if you want to leave. The hosts are excellent and welcoming. Would love to go back! Pet friendly is a plus.

The cabin was great! You can tell Gwen and team put a lot of thought into ensuring guests were well taken care of and had everything they need. It was fun discovering all the little touches like board games, local coffee, and fun books to look through. Gwen also provided toys and treats for our pup. On lake access - the cabin is part of a row of cabins that all share the grounds. This cabin is 3rd from the dock so you do have to walk past other houses/families to access the lake. The grounds are beautiful but the lake itself is on the murkier side if you care about swimming. Also it’s very shallow. We used it primarily for kayaking and paddle boarding which was fun. On location - it was our first time staying in Northern DC. If you want to get away it’s great but if you want to visit the other towns it can be about a 20-40 min drive. Newport State Park and Ellison Bay town are closer at about 10 minutes. Overall we enjoyed our time at this cabin and we thank Gwen for the hospitality!

My husband and I came here for a long weekend to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and couldn't have picked a better place! Such a beautiful, immaculately clean, and well-stocked cabin with so many extra special touches! The location was wonderful, no neighbors right on either side of the cabin, so it felt private and was so quiet and peaceful! The leaves were at the height of changing color and made for gorgeous views out on the lake and from the cabin!! (2nd weekend of October) Coffee on the deck with the beautiful views and peaceful surroundings was just perfect! Thank you for everything you did to make our stay so wonderful and responding so quickly to messages and giving great instructions on various things! We cannot wait to come back here again!!
