Holiday rentals with breakfast in Gjirokastër

Very nice host family and perfect location to the center of old town. We had everything we needed during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

Olsi was very responsive thankfully, but best to know/ask how to get through each gate/door to come back in. We met his mother and she was very sweet! She even made us breakfast 😋 It is a grand, beautiful home with a gorgeous view. We wish we could have stayed longer! The trickiest part about this location is parking - nothing to do with the Airbnb itself!! Locals are, respectfully, relentless in trying to sell you a parking spot. We parked in someone’s driveway for 700 lek and it was still a struggle to get back down the hill. Overall we were very pleased with this accommodation! Thank you Olsi & family!

Although we arrived in the evening when it was dark already, Bjants mom took the time to give us a wonderful welcome, including some homemade treats in the impressive living room. The bedroom was cosy and tasteful with a comfy bed and everything you need. It was clean and the lovely grandmother served us a nice breakfast in the morning. It was a special experience to stay in such an old and traditional house and be hosted by Bjants family. Bjant was available at all times, replying instantly to any questions we had. We had a pleasant stay at Albions apartment. Whenever we had questions he answered immediately. For upcoming guests we want you to know that there is a new road that isn’t shown on maps + it’s not mentioned in the description. This road makes reaching the hotel much easier. Another information you might need to know is, that there is no cabin around the shower so that the bathroom gets quite wet. The owners are very kind and the breakfast is typical albanian. You can have breakfast while enjoying a great view over the old town. Thanks for having us!

Don't think about it. Just book this place now! This was exactly the kind of place I was looking for. I was staying in Sarande at a hotel prior to booking this place. The hotel was great but I wanted something closer to the REAL Albania. I found it here. I was actually surprised that I found this place on Airbnb. It was old school Airbnb...where someone opens up their home to you and you are able to experience the hospitality of the host or hostess. It's not your typical Airbnb place either. This is a typical family farm that is found in so many places in eastern Europe. It is not the kind of farm you would find in Canada or the US that are hundred of acres in size. The home is situated on about 0.5 acres or 0.2 hectares of land surrounded by the typical rock walls you find surrounding many homes in Albania. What kind of animals do you find here? Chickens, sheep, goats, rabbits and even ducks. Yes, there is a garden for vegetables and grape vines throughout the property. Please don't think this a petting zoo farm... this is a working family farm that provides food for the family and you if you stay here. It is a modest home that has been in the family for many years, it is on a plot of land that has provided the food and shelter for the family for countless generations. I have nothing but enormous respect for the hostess and her family. It was the kind of home that my parents grew up in Ukraine. This is what attracted me to this place. These people are salt of the earth. Humble, happy and proud. Respect. I could write a short book about my stay here. To sum up, it was wonderful. I have stayed at my fair share of Airbnb places, but this is my most favorite place ever. I did not want to leave and I do plan to return and stay much longer than the ~10 days I was there. What are the highlights of my visit? 1. The hostess Alexandra and her dear mother. Real people. 2. Coffee with fresh goat milk every morning. Yes, it's that good. 3. The sunrise in the valley. Breathtaking. 4. The amazing hikes up the mountain and in through the valley. There are so many ruins and hidden cool places to discover. 5. Taking the goats and sheep grazing in the morning. Yes I did that!!! 6. I'm not going to give it all away...book this place and I'll let you discover all the wonderful things here on your own. Alexandra and her mother don't speak English. This was not a problem at all. I downloaded the microsoft translator to my phone. It allows two people to communicate back and forth at the push of a button. It made communicating with the hostess very easy. I had many wonderful conversations with Alexandra and her dear mother many times using this translator. So you will be just fine. Look... this is a farm. It smells like a farm where the animals live and it has bugs...get over it. If you are looking for Disney World or the Ritz Carlton...look somewhere else. This place is perfect the way it is and I will be returning in the near future. The apartment is clean and well equipped. The internet works great. My cell phone worked just fine. It has a great stove for cooking and a washing machine to wash your clothes. It has a TV, but why would you watch TV when you are in such a wonderful environment to explore? There are places to buy groceries to cook food...OR...you can arrange with Alexandra to prepare meals for you each day. That is what I did. Breakfast and dinner. So I didn't have to cook or buy anything extra to survive. It's up to you. I chose to eat home cooked food from the farm...how can you beat that??? There is so much more to say...but... Don't think about it. Just book this place now!

Everything was perfect, ruol even came to us in the town to get us to the parking spot. The breakfast was nice and the view is awesome.

The accommodation is really good, new and well situated in the town center. Planned with the love to the details. Very clean as well.We were helped to find the way and even to park our car. Will definitely book again😊 Will recommend everyone who stays in Gjirokaster!

The room was nice and clean, there is a nice view from the balcony on the Gjirokaster castle that you can enjoy in the morning. The process of accommodation was simple and Bledar gave us good directions.

Stay at apartment was great, the host was very kind, friendly and helpful. They prepared us delicious breakfast. The room was clean and cosy.

This was by far the best place to stay on our Albania trip. The room was spacious and immaculately clean, as was the bathroom. The high-quality construction of the space stood out. The hosts were extremely friendly and attentive. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious – something that is not self-evident on Airbnb.

Wow! We loved our 2 nights here. The host family were SO kind and made us feel like one of them. The room was like that of a luxury hotel and the included breakfast was fantastic. 100% worth every penny!

We lived in the ‚Honeymoon suite, very romantic. Everything is new and pretty much clean. But the very best is Brunas hospitality. She is a warm hearted person always looking for you and your welfare. Traditional homemade Breakfast whenever you ask for. We really enjoyed our 3 day stay. We can highly recommend this place.

We had a great time in Avignon. The welcome was great, the accommodation exactly as in the photos and the breakfast really good. Great time with Milton. We strongly recommend this Airbnb!

Staying at Aphrodite garden was a wonderful experience! The hosts, the view, and the atmosphere was much more than to expect. Definitely, we would recommend a visit :)

We received a warm welcome from Sperios with a glass of Reiki. The property is his family home which has totally been renovated with views across the bay and up to the mountains . My favourite part was breakfast underneath the walnut tree with chickens in the garden . Booked for one night and stayed for three. Spiros did everything he could to make us feel welcome, great host, fabulous scenery, best part of the holiday so far. I wish him All the best of luck with his new venture.

The owners were incredibly friendly, their hospitality was outstanding. We felt very safe and welcome.

The accommodation: impeccable and really beautiful with beautiful wooden moldings. Very typical and very pleasant. Hosts: I've rarely seen such friendly people. We were lost in the city, they came to pick us up. Always at your service. Really nice people. And they have a great restaurant for cheap at all (+/- 20€ for two people)
