Castle holiday rentals in Girona

Sebastian and Gloria’s “castle” exceeded our expectations. They both were extremely helpful and accommodating when it came to answering questions, giving recommendations, and helping us navigate transportation. It felt like staying with good friends.

If we could give the castle 10 stars, we would! None of us wanted to leave. The castle with view and surroundings was beautiful and peaceful. Our kids loved learning the history of the castle and of Spain in general from Marc, the host. Marc was always available with anything we needed. We hiked 3 trails from the castle which Marc recommended and we loved them all. The kids enjoyed exploring the castle and property around the castle. They all say it’s the best place we’ve ever stayed! Thank you Marc! We hope to come back one day!:)

Wow. The pics don't do justice to this place. It's a real medivel castle, well preserved, full of history and art. I had no idea the village, the castle itself and everything in it would be so impressive. Adria was beyond helpful and I think this is the most authentic, impressive property I've been to.

Everything is impeccable! The house is as shown in the photos, very nice, very well equipped and communication was very easy and fluid.

Joan is very cheerful. It's very easy to understand him. Montse and Diego, their parents, live in the castle. They are a great couple who welcomed us wonderfully and we were very comfortable. We met the whole family and they are very nice, polite and pleasant. They live downstairs and are the ideal neighbors. Sant Feliu de la Garriga is a medieval fortification. I recommend it, just to have the opportunity to live in such an old space. It is a marvel of beauty and silence. All the details are done with grace. Nothing clashes. It has the harmony of things cared for with intelligence and love. You enter through the central courtyard. It's beautiful, with ivy on its walls. Swallows nest and fly inside. You go up to the first floor by a spiral staircase that is at the bottom of the courtyard. And everything you carry, you bring home with a GREAT pulley system. The apartment you rent is the one on top. It has a huge terrace with spectacular views and two areas for lunch and dinner. Three very comfortable rooms with no shortage of details. They have thought of everything; storing clothes, hangers behind the doors, mosquito nets, shutters if you are like me who can't sleep if there is light... A living room with a table for lunch and dinner, television, sofas... A gas stove that works great and a bathroom with hot water and spectacular views. The views are spectacular from all the windows of the house. The house belongs to Viladamat, which is a 5-minute drive away. Those 5 minutes change everything. One of our fears was that it was hot; being high always runs at least a breeze and the interior of the house with the strategy of drafts of air currents and closing of windows that overlook the sun remained cool even on days when there was a heatwave. The castle's location is ideal. The beaches of Sant Martí de Empúries and San Pedro Pescador are just 10 minutes away by car. If you are andarin or cyclist, the house is surrounded by forest and behind the castle you have kilometers of slopes and trails to make long routes in a very untraveled area and with very few houses and small villages.

1. Carolina and her friend are perfect hosts. 2. It is an old castle. 1000 ~ 1300 years. It wasn't the castle I was thinking about (in the movie), but it's a different experience. 3. It's about a 15-20 minute drive from Girona. I chose this place to visit Girona. It's perfect. 4. I recommend staying at least 2 nights and relaxing in the house for one day.(Barbecue, swimming pool, etc.). We only stayed one night, so this part was a pity. 5. There is a very large grocery store in the middle of the road from Girona to the house. We recommend shopping here before going to the house.

We loved our stay with Gloria and Sebas, and would highly recommend. We booked it as it seemed like something the kids would remember for our first european vacation, and it is definitely something they will remember! We got to experience the clock tower, the beautiful grounds that had a lot of history, and a fun huge apartment with a lot of character! It felt like staying in a castle and the kids will absolutely remember it forever.

We stayed two nights in the fantastic place. The reception was very welcoming. We were guided directly through the whole property. It is a little off the beaten path in breathtaking nature. There is an extra building with a beautiful kitchen, a big pool and lots of recreational opportunities. Absolutely quiet secluded location, it is highly recommended. Alexander

We have been very comfortable in the castle. Everything is super well cared for and Cristina and Gabriel are lovely. We will be back for sure!
